Hi every one . I have a brother whose passport has been in the hands travel agent for 2years now . with 2 different agent the both have been unable to secure him both a schenghen visa and Canadian visa. now as his elder brother I m considering if we should try australia for studies . he has agreed for australia but our problem now is the ielts. he's not sure about making it in the IELTS exam .and to be honest he's not good at English language .

I like to know of there's any other exam he can do when he gets to Australia .
I know some schools may grant admoàision without. IELTS . but visa is the major concern
everything else is ready just the IELTS. is there an
ything one can do?
Good to know you want something good for your brother. About not being good in English, start NOW,
Lemme share some tips with you
If he is serious about leaving NG, and the ielts is a must, he must learn to speak and express himself orally and verbally.
You start by speaking English with him, that way you correct his noticeable flaws
Make him read newspapers and write reports from what he did read.
Also, stop exchanging shorthand messages with him, via BBM or whatsoever. E.g "aw r u", make him type "How are you". Gradually, he will upgrade.
Watch ielts videos on YouTube and that gives him a feeling of what to expect. And when you see some mofos speak English, you gonna start believing he is gonna do better.
It may tak time, but at the long run, the juice is worth the squeeze.

Yes exactly that reply really stunned me too cause I'm not sure what my tribe has to do with anything if he wants to help me, this is 2016, I can't believe people are still exhibiting tribalistic traits. reply left me scattered cause I'm Yoruba & now I'm skeptical about his help since he's asking about my tribe 1st sigh what should I do
We need to remind ourselves that first, we are Nigerians before being an igbo or hausa. That way we can move forward as a nation.

You are to write 3 episodes; reports for 3 workplace or school projects/jobs which you have done or participated in. These projects must be in the area of the occupation you are being assessed for. See MSA booklet on EA website for the required content for each episode, eg the organogram for the project, what you duties were, who and how you related with others on the project, a description of what the project is about, etc. You have to provide evidence like employment lettet and the likes.
Thanks Bro, I intend to use my Nysc a work experience sha. I served in ministry of works and participated in supervision works an also did some freelance. Luckily for me. My posting letter still de my hand.that should be sufficient yeah?

Well, none of us can unequivocally tell, but predicting from the past trends, i think many occupations have been flagged on the SOL for some years and its reasonable to suggest that petroleum and mining Engineering were removed for global economic reasons. Optimistically, i personally believe it might not be removed.
Let's keep HOPE alive. Anyone with link for PTE materials?

Bro... Hw fr..
Its not too late at all. Its even advisable to start now as there is no guarantee after the masters that the course will still be on the SOL. The only advantage of the masters is 5points which you might not need if you do your analysis well.
I am just hopeful it isn't removed before this time next year.

@CottyEkundayo,

I don't think there is anywhere EA asked for certificate. Even if it is required, to whom it may concern letter from the school would have done the trick. What you need is your transcript which doesn't require convocation to collect.

Now you have to pay thousands of dollars for something you can get for less and better.

@Mikol,

Jukeblam gave you an appropriate response. Nothing to add.
Bros, I have been here before. They really need the cert and not a provisional, like. Notification.

Greetings everyone.
I came in to Australia by july, on student visa to study M.eng civil Engineering. Nonetheless, is it too early to start planning for the PRhuh The only reason I didn't follow that route earlier was because my institution doesn't give certificate until after convocation, which won't take place until further notice(funaab school crisis and impending Asus strike), and certificate I much needed for assessment by EA. Thanks in anticipation for your prompt response (s).

hi all, wishing all those dropping applications the best of luck. Been off and on for sometime trying to settle in and attend all necessary lectures, Aussie is a cool place, people are always smiling at you like if they won visa lottery but its all good. There are jobs but you have to be prepared to do one certification or the other to get them easily ranging from White card to Blue card to Certificate courses in individual support to ABN to RSA, lots of them my nairalanders o,
But its still a good decision if you wanna venture into it. waiting for summer earnestly. kudos to you all grin grin grin grin grin grin

Which Australian school can take a 2.2 holder in MSC mechanical engineering ? How long is MSC in Australia?....what's the cost? .....someone should narrow my search down pls.
Bros, I doubt if anyone will has a comprehensive list of schools that will accept you, most visa holders had to at one time or the other find the school themselves or used agents. As regards cost, 20k - 36k aud per annum for tuition, depending on the school. Also, depending on your pathway, research or coursework, it may be 1.5 years or 2.
I recommend you take to google and search by yourself. That way, you get information properly and read for yourself what you need to know..
