Hey guys, please I need advice. I studied Civil Engineering for my bachelor's, worked as a buisness development engineer for a chemical industrial company for 4 years before the plant shut down, and I transitioned into Tech (developer/programming) last year and I intend to get an IT related msc.

An agent advised I opt for a nursing msc, but I am not a fan at all & I feel my background may be a bummer.

Please the end game is getting PR, can anyone advice me if software engineering/information technology msc is ok to opt for or should I follow the nursing route or even fall back to Civil?

I would appreciate suggestions, please.

cc bligs tunlex01
That’s one helluva journey though. Nonetheless, you should come in for IT; with a good SOP relating your BD experience + developer you should get a spot at any uni. How will you relate Mscnursing to your background ?? Beginning with the end in mind… first you need to get that visa that brings you onshore and when you are here there are several pathways to explore for your PR• #Selah

Good day guys. Followed this thread from the beginning and it is really amazing.

For as long as i can remember, I have really love Australia. I intend doing my masters there with a goal of getting pr and then citizenship.

As I'm currently an undergraduate in Nigeria, I have researched and i came up with a road map to achieve my goals. But then I have some questions to ask.

1. Is there any way to bypass paying tax as a crypto/forex/stocks trader in Australia?

2. In Mechanical, Electrical and Mine Engineering, which is best to do my Masters in as I'm currently studying Mechatronics engineering (B.Eng).

I would really love to get a reply from experts in the house as it would help me fine tune my plans before my graduation.

Thanks in advance.
Ps: I love Perth, WA. grin
If you are seeking to bypass tax, Australia is probably not the place for you. Tax office is big on crypto taxation now.

Hello Everyone.

Please, is there anyone studying Msc Nursing in Australia? I just finished my BSc Nursing program but I don't have my license yet. An agent told me that I can do Msc Nursing in Australia and get registered as a nurse after completing. Please, has anyone used this means? I will be glad if I get a response. Thank you.
While this is true. You can seek more information by yourself. Don't just let an agent lead you without you knowing one or two things.

Can you elaborate on the bolded? You may just change my mind. I've been taking PTE for the following reasons:

1. Cheaper
2. Popularity with people who need 20 pts
3. Availability of mock tests

Is the 'speaking' part not as difficult as PTE?
PTE eliminates the human factor that comes with IELTS. The part that doesn't really count on the IELTS is your listening and reading cos the answers are quite straightforward except in rare cases where you just need make sense with your answer.
Your speaking and writing depends on who is marking also. While you may feel you have done well the reader or whoever is listening to your speech may feel like "you be learner".

However with PTE... I think it's an algorithm.
So the system and test was developed based on "if then else" (programming).
So what I tell people going for the test is... You are out to beat the system; usually by including key words in the relevant task(s).
My first IELTS attempt was a 7.5 and my friend mentioned to me... "If you take the PTE... You gonna smash a 90", lo and behold I smash smasher smashest.

Just practice. You go fine!

Hello Nlanders... really nice to be in this forum, am actually new on this forum and as well a newbie on the hunt for traveling...

I actually need you people to mentor me on my new found dream of Australia...

my qualifications are...NCE in business education 2014 and B.Ed in educational management... graduated this year.

I really wish to have my Masters in either education or other related discipline... my point is what master discipline can I study in Australia university?

The requirements for the discipline ( what I need to be qualified) Gods willing i really wish to travel in the last quarter of 2019... so I want to be preparing ahead of time...

please help me do justice to my questions please... thanks in advance
You answered your question.
Master in education or other related discipline.
There is master of education in Australia, other related discipline may be master of teaching ( primary / secondary) hit google bro.
About requirements, check your desired school requirements.... Nobody will spoon feed you here.
But you need good scores on proficiency of English.

I lodged for visa on 25th of oct, 2018. I got a mail from correspondence that i did not meet (pic)4020. Stating that my work document...that is letter of appointment and letter of promotion in advance were bogus documents. And i av been given 28 days to prepare my defence...
I av later seen the fault, the company letter head on one of d letters has a missing alphabet....but this was due to the companys change of business name which was not successful then, but it has already reflected on my appointment letter...

Pls gurus in d house what is d way forward,
Only God fit help you. Nonetheless, I think your HR department or boss can write a letter to state your employment details, you may want to include your payslips inclusive of tax certificate (s). You may also wanna include your bank statement to show credits from your company. .
Best regards

Hello people in the house... there is something that has been coming to mind lately and I have decided to seek for advice...

I resigned from my previous job this year Jan... went for a professional training between April and August this year... while applying for my VISA, I stated there that I had stopped working and currently just finished a training in August (I applied for VISA after that period)... now between August and Now, i have just been doing personal jobs...no official employment...

I am having a feeling that the DIBP could ask me for proof of employment or ask for what i have been up to since i resigned from my professional job in Jan...

Please guys, what is the best thing to say or do if that eventually comes up... NB: I submitted the certificate from the training along with my application... but what if they still ask for what I have been doing as the training wasnt a paid training... Please gurus in the house help...
You have been on a freelance.
If you get queried on how you have engaged yourself since the end of the training;
My suggestion is that you prepare a good statement to explain your reasons such as you decided not to take up another full time role cos you waiting on a visa. Hence you may want to include evidence of your freelance work such as transaction receipts, contract documents, work schedule.. etc. All depends on you mate. I was a freelancer prior to my departure and I had same thought but was never questioned even after preparing those documents. . .

Hello Everyone,

Pls is it perfectly okay to sit for TOEFL as I plan to study in Australia.

I noticed most people enroll for IELTS/PTE, is their any disadvantage I am not seeing?

Kindly enlighten me, thanks.
Check your desired Uni and look out for the English proficiency requirements page. True, most people opt for IELTS and or PTE. I even recommend PTE on the account that it is an algorithm you are just out to beat.

Please I need clarification on this. I applied for a refund from my university after visa refusal but to my surprise I got below what I paid. I paid 17201usd n refund me 15000usd, thought suppose to be a full refund. Deakin uni
Go look for your uni refund policy. I remember UOW has a policy that's sees refund less than a 1000 AUD.
But then, exchange rate issues may come along with this.

Good day all, please has anyone travelled down to Australia with different flight tickets and/or airline operators that connect in either China or Singapore? Please what was your stop over experience like? Any hassles from immigration, especially when you have to do a self transfer of checked baggage to the connecting flight.

I understand you don't need a visa if you're not leaving the airport, but what of when you need to pick up your checked in luggage from the flight that got you down there from naija and then check it in to the next or last leg of your flights?

Some tickets actually are indicating self-transfer, any better idea of what is meant by these online booking agents?

Thanks all
Just do one airline and save your self the stress that comes with claiming your luggage(s).#cost-benefit analysis bro. I have been there before.
