Mcdion: Merit of 2years msc is that you are qualify to apply for a bridging visa for extra two years, this will enable you work in ur occupation and possibly get skills needed for a skill assessment to meet one of the requirements of pr. It's a post study visa, not bridging visa. You may wanna read bout the bridging visas A-E to acquire extensive knowledge bout em. |

phemmy28: Thanks bruv, thing is, I was told you can only get exemption if you were above 30 years at graduation, of which at graduation, age was below 30 years, so exemption letter via normal channels is out of it. The only other "legit" alternative is to inform DIBP that I am yet to serve due to the fact that I had to do my one year housemanship and have been waiting for their reply and so have not gone for the NYSC program. Finished housemanship in feruary, visa application July and turned 30 in august. From popular advice, an illegit exemption letter is out of the question. In your opinion, does my above highlighted explanation of timeline reference to why I havent been able to make the nysc program hold water logically (or illogically, lol) { na "almost" frustration laugh I dey laugh oh} Sounds good mate. As stated earlier, dibp ba human being de there. |

martinoonline: Hello everyone! Just to update the house, I arrived Aussie safely on the 476 subclass.
I've been off for long trying to settle in, so I've missed plenty gist here on NL.
Thanks to everyone who responded to my earlier questions - bellong, iceberg54, Alphadoor, catchdwind4rmkd, incemay, lawland,...et al.
I finally traveled through Singapore without any need for Transit visa, just as lawland told me I wouldn't need one. I flew Ethiopian Airline from Lagos to Addis Ababa, Ethiopian Airline from Addis Ababa to Singapore and then JetStar from Singapore to Melbourne. It was a fairly cheap deal compared to all other deals I saw and the journey was very smooth as well.
If you plan to use same route (or any other route with 2 or more journey laps), before you depart Nigeria, just make sure the destination tag on your checked in luggage corresponds to your final destination. Mine was fine, so I didn't have to move my checked in luggage by myself while in transit. I only had to pick them up from the pick up location when I arrived Melbourne.
My experience settling in here has been fine so far. I will now resume my hunt for 20 points from PTE.
Catchdwind4rmkd, I saw your testimony...Congrats bro I need your PTE anointing, going in next week for a shot at Flinders.
Congrats to all those who have received their grants and good luck to everyone of us still in the chase. 79+ fall on you. Best regards for your exam!!! Go for gold, mate |

phemmy28: DIBP don come with them wahala oh!!!
So we were contacted last week thursday for additional information,
- Updated Confirmation of enrolment Coe - Bachelor certificate from University in Ukraine. I noted you provided diploma certificate. - Proof of registration as Medical doctor with Nigerian medicals council - Proof of financial support , 3 month Bank statement
Which we provided, although the certificate they already had is a Doctor of Medicine diploma, not the conventional diploma {terminology}. Now they contacted us today again asking for other supporting documents,
- Clear scanned copy of the original WAEC certificate - Clear scanned copy of the original National Youth Service certificate - Employment reference from the Military Hospital in Ikoyi, Lagos, including details of when you completed a housemanship at the Military Hospital.
Thing is we have not served yet nor have we registered online or anything. Options, should one go and get them a "nigerian" exemption letter or just inform them that we havent served due to the fact that we want to pursue further education before coming back to serve.
Advice needed!!! ( I nor know wetin concern DIBP with nysc cert unto going to school for dem country oh) Those guys don sabi naija people to de do nysc niyen. From my POV, get the exemption letter. That one of bla bla bla wey you wan talk say after school you wan come serve, I see am as red flag Sha. You may wanna talk about delayed mobilisation et al. Dibp, ba human being full there. Sometimes you can be lucky to get a good CO wey nor just get energy to stress people, and it may be otherwise. I think with the right words you can convince them, if and only if it turns out you can't get an exemption letter. Best regards. |

Tuteso: What about the PTE, how easy was it to make 79 in each? For me, I just put enough effort required to smash the exam. About being easy, if you did so well on IELTS by preparing, you should smash PTE also. The difference is the PC.. the system was made and can surely be beaten. |

Second IELTS Aug 2017 - L8 R9 S7 W7
Third IELTS Oct 2017 - planned for 28th, results will be out the second week in Nov. If same PTE( reading already) all the way.
just need that 20 to make 70 for my ITA... @Cottyekundayo, pls share all the tips you can, got my speaking this weekend. Your second attempt was better than my IELTS. I don't think you need any tip from me. Nonetheless, all I can recommend is that you improve on what you have done to get second result. Akachukwu123: I saw the format for PTE ACADEMIC today and it's really different from IELTS so I'm a bit more confused now. I'm thinking of sticking with IELTS now I need an advice, please which will be better? Is PTE really easier than IELTS? It boils down to your proficiency level. A buddy saw my IELTS result and said an attempt at the pte will be smashing. Lo and behold, PTE turned out to be a piece of cake.... The basic trick is self assessment of your ability, and familiarity with test formats. Best regards, |

LaddyB1: Actually the flight is a single flight originating from Nigeria, and the airline is Turkish airline all the way but they are changing our flight to Malindo air in Malaysia.
I just want to know if we will be needing Malaysia visa as suggested by someone. So please does anyone know for sure if we will be needing Malaysia visa? That question should be directed to Turkish airline. N my own case my connecting airline was on the other side of immigration desk. Turkish airline will definitely give you an adequate answer. |

please respond asap. Anyone with travel experience with turkish airline operated by Malindo air kuala lumpur to perth. My one cent, just use a straight airline. Connecting airline via Malaysia is trouble. I had some experience last year and had to book another Airline at Malaysia in addition claiming luggage was also difficult. And just this a.m, I got a mail from my mate who visited NG, Turkish airline won't let him board cos they don't seem to understand how he will claim his luggage. #wasteofmoney. I recommend that you just squeeze out the cash and board one airline instead of connecting. |

Yahwehgbemi: Based on what I have read on this platform, I discovered that most people that applied for assessment by EA only paid for standard CDR assessment with fast track and excluded fees for assessment of work experience. They claim that DIBP will do the work experience assessment.
For me, I have about 9 years working experience and I need the points from work experience. 1. Do I include fees for work experience assessment when submitting my application to EA? 2. If eventually I do not pay for work experience assessment, can I claim points when submitting an EOI?
Thank you house for your prompt response.
@Bnimz and Jamson, I sent you PMs as I seek your professional advice being an Electrical Engr. pls respond. Thanks Assess your employment. The same documents you used for the assessment are required by DIBP ( as regards claiming points for work). Your years of experience will be stated on your assessment letter. Not sure what that of EA looks like though. |

Ucpaker13: What is the maximum length of time one can wait before giving up on this visa thing for Australia. Mine is approaching 3months since I went for my biometric assessment and because of the delay I am so pissed off with my agent we even quarreled because i told him to stop lying to me about waiting and waiting, because I feel since he applied from over there it's should be faster am really confused on my next plan of action because all my hope was that by now I should be working over there and recovering the huge money I invested gradually now I don't even know which business to start sef in Nigeria to move on with my life. Better Goan drink Fanta and buy shoes. This one ya worrying on giving up, but then in response to your question, you can give up immediately you submit you application, or wait till you are just tired like right now. If people gave up I don't think this thread will be in existence. The ball is in your court Biko. |
