I've told you already what you can do if you still feel so strongly about the issue, you were the one who gave those links as being supportive of your view, I've only shown you all the views do not agree.

there's no single link that says messi's goal was marginally offside. . . .cnn simply told you the reason the goal was disallowed by the referee. they did not say they thought messi was offside. there's a difference between the two.

I've already told you this thread is not about trophies. I've better things to do than go toe to toe with a knucklehead who refuses to read when he has the capacity to.  tongue

and i have told you winning trophies and posting huge profits go hand in hand. . . .ian wright(arsenal legend) said this yesterday. . . . "don't brag about cash when we are still potless. we were told about a 'robust financial performance' which was an overall loss of £2.5million - and compared to other clubs, these are very good figures.

yet the fact the club started talking about finances the day after a carling cup final defeat rubbed salt into the wounds.
because, had arsene wenger invested in a defender in the january transfer window, maybe arsenal would have won their first trophy since 2005"

sunday was birmingham's day after not winning anything since 1963, arsenal's day will come and sooner than you think. The same Birmingham who you say outclassed Arsenal also outclassed West Ham who in turn outclassed you with yur assumed winner's dna so you aint saying much.

that was exactly what birmingham fans must have thought in 1969(six years into their drought) that their day will come sooner than we thought. man city have gone 35 years now with no sign of winning anything in sight. arsenal are in their 6th year, liverpool in their fifth. na like play like play e dey start. grin in 2008, arsenal fans told me there was no way they would go 3 yrs without a title. now we are in 2011(and still no trophy). grin

What does the man being Ibo have to do with anything Are Ibo men more inclined to domestic violence, and is there scientific evidence to back such claims? It just seems to me that a frustrated man shoots his wife, and is soon going to pay the penalty for such a nefarious act. Whether he is Ibo or not is totally irrelevant, or else you can scientifically prove other wise. I am more concerned that you can't seem to abstain from tribalising every single thing.

A few decisions were poor no doubt, but not significantly changing the course of events in my opinion. Even if you strip out the ref-induced chances, Chelski were still far more creative.

how creative would they have been if atkinson had sent off the "sideshow bob" in the first half? referee's decisions can make wigan beat barcelona 11-0.

If you can provide evidence that Bayern created more 'chances' than Inter, I'll wear Crizzle's lacy briefs on my head to the Emirates in the middle of winter. grin

Why are you sounding so not-so-smart? some say its off, others say its not. why did CNN choose to call it marginal? I haven't heard anyone from Barcelona complaining so you can go chain yourself unclothed to a post in front of the FIFA office demanding for a clarification.  tongue

you are a laboratory doofus. cnn did not say it was marginal. cnn simply told you the reason the goal was chalked off. nowhere in that article did they say "it was marginally offside" after watching any replay. your lack of comprehension shines through again.

None of those clubs you mention compete at the top level as we do and don't have their squads stretched across as many competition as ours.

yet more evidence your club in it's entirety is a failure. when clubs who don't have your quality can win titles, why can't you? the clubs in your category(man utd, chelsea, liverpool, spurs) have all won titles in the last six seasons. bottom clubs with no quality have won clubs in the last six seasons. why can't arsenal win it, you gibbon?

Damn why is it so hard for a simpleton to comprehend trends and changes? was Arsenal without trophies in the period you mentioned (1993 - 2005)?

trends n changes are the reasons arsenal cannot win a title in the last six seasons? grin grin the same trends n changes that did not affect tottenham or affect birmingham from winning it? you are a poor excuse of a grown man. grin

Was the debt level in the Premiership as high?

what has the debt level gotta do with your failure? if you assemble a quality squad, you will win titles. birmingham fc defeated arsenal on sunday. the cost of birmingham's team was nowhere close to arsenal and yet wenger was outclassed by alex mcleish. what has the debt level gotta do with your club's ineptitude and the failure gene in their dna?

So Atkinson is responsible for just 2 shots on goal by Utd?   grin

he was. we got no freekick around chelsea's penalty box last night and rooney was fouled more than 6 times by luiz in that area of the pitch. shots resulting from direct free-kicks add to shots off/on targets, don't they? the officiating was abysmal and every football fan admitted that yesterday. fans are just happy united lost because they want a close-fought title race.

Sharon you need help. . . .kindly explain how you counted these 10 times more chances that didn't result in shots on/off goal. Any more mendacity and even Lucifer will be scared of you. grin

if i pull these stats out now, you will say i am deploying diversionary tactics. bayern created more chances than inter in the final and they still lost. there are other examples i can cite too. inter/barca is another one when inter won in san siro.

Apart from the Ivanovic scramble caused by a freekick, how many others were caused by the referee’s input? You’re clutching at straws here.

nearly all the chances created by chelsea were as a result of referee's input. cases where a united player was fouled with referee ignoring it and chelsea breaking on a counter. there's a reason atkinson was the man of the match despite the fact that yesterday's game was the match of the season so far. why is that?

Are you hallucinating again? Where did I make a comparison between performances in each half? What I said is that Chelski created better quality chances and a higher quantity of chances in the game.

and they should cos those chances were aided by the officials.

So you’ve resorted to telling porkies? cheesy

Inter had 7 shots on target vs Bayern’s 3 so what the heck are you talking about? Even in terms of shots off target, they were nearly even at 11 for Bayern to 10 for Inter.

chances created not shots on/off target. not all chances result in shots on/off target. a blocked shot is a chance but it wont register as a shot off/on target. baba debosky, has your iq hit a diminishing return?

Again, it’s not just a matter of numbers, the quality of chances for Chelski were better as well.

which quality? cos a shot hitting the post isn't on target.

No truer statement has emerged from the lips of Sharon. cheesy

of course, hernandez has punched above his weight. this was a no-name player when united signed him. he is not even bulky physically to convince anyone he can cut it here and yet. . . . . .he has silenced his critics. he has scored 13 times this season already and he needs 4 more goals in the league to score more league goals than van persie has ever done in his career. grin

you are a certified doofus! what different interpretations can one use to judge an offside position? the rules are clear and messi was onside when the ball was played to him.

True enough dolt, but the downside of yur bankrupt intellect is that yu fail to see that there are also costs attached to building a team, achieving victory and subsequently making money and if the two don't balance then you make losses and also get indebted if you met those initial costs through funding from creditors. Understand the term Pyrrhic victory at all?  undecided

so is this the reason your pathetic team hasn't won a dime in six seasons? arsenal has made money since moving to the emirates. they have declared mouth-watering profits since the move and yet we are here(5 years after moving to the emirates) with nothing to show for it. what is the budget of portsmouth, tottenham and birmingham who have all won titles in that period?

Well, the credit crunch didn't happen in a day if you understand anything about finances yu will know that entities get into financial trouble over time and not just on a single day. I can quite understand If you can only think in terms of the money you have in your pocket. and while yu're correcting my typos, yu could take some time to find out the difference between nuance and nuisance

mumbo jumbo as usual. . . .so winning trophies and buying quality players will lead to financial trouble? how did man utd manage it between 1993 and 2005? they won trophies after trophies both domestically and europe. mumuface, admit it. . . .you are a lummox. grin

Even disregarding the shots on goal - they caused numerous goal mouth scrambles for Utd and hit the bar, just like Birmingham did against Arsenal. Whether you look at the number of chances or the quality of chances, Chelski were better than Utd on both counts. Imagine talking down shots from range when your only goal came via a shot from outside the box coupled with Cech's error. cheesy

goal-mouth scrambles crafted out by the referee. giving nonsense freekicks to chelsea whenever they were tackled cleanly and ignoring the same type of tackles when united tackled chelsea players. upon all the chances chelsea created, they won it with a dodgy penalty call. i disagree with chelsea better than united on both counts. only a tool like yourself would say chelsea were better than united in the first half.

A 50-50 game and Chelski created more than double the chances Utd did? Tell that to the marines. grin

bayern munich created more than 10 times the number of chances inter created in the last european final. the scoreline was 2-0 in favour of inter. so should we assume inter didn't deserve the victory like you keep saying?

Any player at his age his first EPL season is still learning - scoring more than Chamakh is not really the issue here. . .try and focus on the subject matter for once.

hernandez has punched above his weight in this league. he is a type of player that thrives on intelligent passes(none of which rooney supplied all night) because his strength is playing on the shoulder of the last defender. berbatov is a better partner of hernandez than rooney.

your english comprehension is a disgrace. . . . . that was the reason the goal was disallowed. . .it does not make it a fact. video evidence suggested messi was onside and you are telling us what we already know that the goal was disallowed cos the officials thought messi was marginally offside. messi wasn't.

Trust a scumtwat to try diversionary tactics to cover for their deficiencies. You’ve learnt well from old red nose. cheesy

it is not a diversionary tactic. . . .just proving your theory lacks substance. a team does not need to match your number of shots on target to outplay you. a shot taken from 50 yards that van der sar stopped with his foot is a shot on target.

This is rich, Vidic stopped Ivanovic’s shot after VDS’ save by using his elbow - that should’ve been a penalty.
Vidic should’ve been off for handling on the line in the first half; his foul on Ramires just before the second on DD was equally deserving of a second yellow.

that was deep in the second half you doofus. if david luiz had walked in the first half with his niggly fouls, chelsea wouldn't have been that potent to the point of taking shots at vds' goal. use your common sense for once.

Zhirkov also hit the bar because Vidic deflected the ball. If Vidic had been sent off for his handball, he wouldn’t even be on the pitch then either and that would've been a clean goal.

same as above.

Finally, it was 11 vs 11 for most of the match and Chelski created far more chances than Utd did and hit the bar as well - that shows they deserved to win the game, regardless of some debatable decisions by the officials.

the point is chelsea created far more chances because the referee allowed it. he was handing them freekicks in dangerous areas and whenever luiz tackled rooney, he ignored it. count the number of freekicks chelsea had in the game versus the number of freekicks united shoulda had. it was a 50-50 game and chelsea won simply because the referee was incompetent.

Hernandez showed he is still learning - he was virtually useless in this game.

useless? had rooney possessed the football brain and the vision of berbatov, hernandez woulda scored at least twice last night. hernandez is learning and he has outscored your m0ron chamakh?  grin grin grin keep proving to me you are a tool! it's delightful. tongue

i see. i never knew uefa now gives a special trophy for the best managed club in europe. grin cheesy what a simpleton. your club has not won a single trophy in 6 years and what you can beat your chest about is bah bah bah, we are well managed! where is the management in a team who cannot win a trophy to please the fans?

Its not my business how yu came to be in debt. The fact remains yu are in debt and heavy ones too which a period of sustained success we are not likely to ever see again has done little to lessen.

if you are expecting the success on the pitch to clear a debt of 700 million pounds then you are as demented as a squirrel accursed with brain damage. fact remains united keep posting decent figures, winning trophies and beating "healthy clubs" like arsenal season in season out. that is fine by me. whatever happens with the finances is morgan stanley's/deloittes to worry about. as long as united win trophies, i am happy.

When the season ends, we will discuss where we are in terms of trophies, and this thread is not about trophies. We have kept our best players and so far we've done better than last year, that is all I demanded from my team to ensure we are moving in the right direction.

i don't need to wait till the end of the season to know you will finish this season potless. sunday was your best chance and you fluffed it. barcelona will murder you next week. man utd is in the way in the fa cup and the league is far away from a spineless team like you.

Utd did get a bit of a raw deal with the ref, but ultimately Chelski outplayed them on the night.

I personally would blame Fabio for getting Vidic sent off. . . .where was he in each of the occasions Vidic had to wrestle with Ramires and then DD? If he was back there defending, he'd have provided some support.

I think Fergie complained a bit too much about the ref though. . . .Utd didn't really create much and had only two shots on goal. That's not good enough, especially since the goal came from Cech failing to cover his near post.

kindly provide us the match stats in the carling cup final between arsenal n birmingham. does that mean birmingham didn't deserve their victory against your pathetic team? john terry stopped a goal-bound shot with his hands, no penalty. david luiz should have walked in the first half and chelsea would have been reduced to ten men. . . . .zhirkov dived to win a penalty(the match-winner) and you are here saying chelsea outplayed united on the night. like fergie said. . . . .if chelsea continue to get decisions like that, they will win the league in may.

I'm not faulting the overall performance especially in the first half.

To be fair. I always tell pple that if a team plays positive football, they stand a better chance of having tight decisions fall their way. We ran out of steam in 2nd half.

Is it today yu started having highest attendances? or was OT expanded to 70,000 capacity after 2005? yu continue to dodge the issue, yu have had prolly the most sustained successful period of your history yet emerged with massive debt and no infrastructure upgrades while at the same time

the stupidity in this argument is united had no debt before the leveraged take over. they were doing well posting huge profits before the glazers. the debt did not arise by buying expensive players or spending more than the club makes. the debt was artificial. united don't need no infrastructure upgrades. before the glazers, united are the richest club on the planet.

Arsenal had massive infrastructure upgrades in a period in which they won nothing and have largely paid off the debt incurred for that upgrade. You can have your worries about Arsenal's competitiveness but financial worry is the least of our worries whereas its paramount in yours, good luck with that rich family to pay off your debts, we don't need one.

arsenal without the stadium debt. . . .won nothing.
arsenal with the stadium debt. . . . . .won nothing.

arsenal fans lying that their debt is the reason for the trophy drought is a myth. the club failed to win because you have mediocres in your team. how much debt are we talking about that has stopped arsenal from winning? as big as united's? hell no. we have been told this season wenger now has the resources to challenge and win titles cos arsenal posted a handsome profit last financial year. yet, they were beaten by birmingham, would be kicked out of europe next week and wenger isn't even sure he can win the league. i ask, where is the title wenger promised last year?

barcelona is crippled with debt and they keep winning. same as madrid, man utd, etc. debt does not stop the business on the pitch so put a sock in it.
