You didn't give info on the kind of project it is. How will one know if it's something he can handle? |
Missjargo:Yes, it's poorly formatted. But, in deep desperation and confusion, those who'll be here to read this after the rapture won't complain about formatting. They'll be eager to interprete every line in truth, even though they despise the truth now. This letter is a strip of information mined from Tim Lahaye's 'Left Behind'. Credits to him. |
I think it would be better if you posted relevant code so far here. It'll give a clue for suggestions. I am also a learner. You can get the value of the input field using an onChange event listener and store this value using a value. Then use parseInt() or parseFloat() functions test if it's a numerical input. If it's not a number, the function will return NaN or any number it could find. Or use the isNaN() function to test the variable. You can also test for the presence of non-numeric characters in the input string and throw an exception if any is found. That may be preferable. Define all this in a function. You may also obtain all values of inputs and store them in an array; then use a loop to iterate through the array and test each element of the array with the function you've created. |
xtervaganza:There is nothing religious in my post. What I mean is, your suggestion could have negative effects on the guy above. And you may not be able to do anything more helpful then than saying 'sorry for your plight'. |
xtervaganza:You posted thus with high hopes of returning to console him if he comes back here lamenting his new entanglement? |
That's just what happens to your aged television: when it's not working, you hit it hard; it works. |
If all the constraints weren't there, I'd be a physicist, a nuclear scientist and a computer scientist. One constraint to look out for is time and possible optimum brain function. |
Take your mind off that. What are you doing now? Occupy yourself with something better. Ignore her if you can. Why would she be visiting if you two never had something deeper than what you've shown here? You must have given her an affirmative signal; I wouldn't doubt it: you're already considering it. Rethink. |
I phoned UNILORIN today and my suspicion was confirmed. The man at the other end of the telephone told me to help myself, that this is nigeria where everything is possible. He said that some persons who scored 20% in post UTME had been admitted already, that the cutoff mark doesn't matter. He said he already had his own candidates to help. Terrible. |
Reminds me of Walter in 'Legend Of The Seeker'. That man was stretched some finger lengths. Forced growth. |
Could this explain why I never got admitted into UNILORIN with a UTME score of 238 and post-UTME score of 72%; and by simple arithmetic, average of 263--63 points above their cutoff? And all they did when I contacted them was to give me some useless suggestion, 'check the portal to know admission status' when I'm explaining that the portal read 'you have not yet been recommended for admission. Please check back later'. Who does the recommendation to the demerit of the well-deserving candidate who maintained a clean sheet and merited admission? Could it be because I'm opposed by that tribalised catchment area trick? Just our problem. The outside world discriminates against us being blacks and africans; yet we discriminate ourselves. Well, it's home sweet home. Home of self-retarding corruption. Now I have to settle for computer science in rivers state for the while. 'I have seen beggars ride on horsebacks; and I have seen princes go on foot: the race is not to the sincere nigerian, nor the battle to the peaceful citizen--long leg and strong hand guarantees it'. That's how it's done around here. |
That's so funny. What would you if you were the teacher? I like it that joke sir. |
Well, try to improve that wapka site's design. You can make something good from there. |
It's a wapka site. How can a search feature 'powered by google custom search' be preferable to th actual google site? |
You cannot tell exactly tell what'll happen. Some persons expected the same of whatsapp but were disappointed when whatsapp was bought. Remember it's business. The cost they'll incur as they grow may force them to review their policies. Facebook did same. And it's beyond what you're considering. Have you factored in access to remote areas of the world and several others? We just can't tell. |
Consider the ones around now--in your generation. Check this link. The technologies you wow at are no match for the latest here. www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/3052621/posts |
What to do depends on the kind of persons your parents are. If they'll understand, tell them your intention and reasons in a polite way. You should ask for an important hearing. That'll create the atmosphere for compromise. Make sure your reasons are cogent and cite ways in which it's affected you. Ask for permission to change your name, but give them the option to suggest a new name. But if you're still schooling, wait until you're through. Let all your certs bear the current name and you'll be glad you waited. You don't want to carry two sets of certs with a change-of-name cert as a margin. I'm referring to whoever it is: you or your friend. |
I just started learning javascript and it's my first programming language. But my challenge is 'I don't have a pc' so I can't test codes easily as I study. Is there any way to get around this? Reading straight without testing and practising is not giving me what I desire. |
You can get 'Javascript - The Definitive Guide' here: www.it-ebooks.info/book/416 or [url]filepi.com/i/stNZbNj[/url] |
Okay guys. I have another problem here. I want to display login form on a page header when the sign in link is clicked. I tried it with javascript using this code: <script...>[!CDATA [function signIn(var logForm='<form>...</form>' document.write(logForm); )]]</script> and the html: <a onClick='signIn()'>Log in</a>. It doesn't even show any sign to work. Could someone please help. |
GodMode: I have what you want but you'll need jquery cos doing it in javascript is stressfulI don't know much of that. I'm a newbie. I've just started learning javascript. I'd have gone farther in this if I had a pc. So I'm learning html, css and javascript on mobile which limits me greatly. I hope I'll get a pc someday. You can just leave the procedure in my inbox. When I'm ripe, I'll check it out. |
davidif: You have watched too many movies bro.I don't think you understand what I mean. View it from all shores. You ignored the flu virus I mentioned. And the movie I mentioned is a Thai movie. And do not think I am a lazy learner. I also researched. But I view things in every possible perspective I can. Your conclusive objection does not jibe with my intended meaning. That movie I mentioned doesn't accuse the U.S in any way. I won't explain further. If you're not the lazy learner you call me, watch the movie too. And know that I never concluded ebola is man-made. |
Libkid: abi .the 100 is exactly wats happening in africaHave you watched 'My Best Bodyguard'? A similar case. I read an article earlier on about a deadly virus being propagated in a secret lab. I can't remember the details. It was a flu virus actually. But I think this new strain of ebola is a man-made weapon. |
GodMode: do you have jqueryNot yet. I'm a newbie. When I'm ready for it, I'll do it. |
GodMode: Then that will involve js/jquery and css.Okay. I'll try it. |
jumox: what you are referring to is a final product of opera mini compression. That means opera mini does it even if it's not part of the source code. Okay. And some forms of it would need you to click a button before the navigation links load. You'd see something like this( >> ) on the button. I want either of the both examples to make my navigation occupy less space. |
GodMode: NL does not have drop down menus.I understand this. But it doesn't give me the compression and the arrow sign still shows, instead of the plus sign. |
Good day guys. I'm trying to create a drop-down box for my navigation, just like the one used to reduce the space occupied by the navigation links here on nairaland. I mean that type that has a '+' symbol by it. When you click it, the '+' changes to '-' and the content become visible. What's the html tag for it? |
ThaiAlNigeria -- you have done a good job mister; but you have to be careful. I admire your enthusiasm at exposing the jibs but you should consider the level of corruption in Nigeria and the world at large. You do not want to become a martyr for opposing corruption. Imagine the jibs are reading this thread; their conscience will surely tell them it is their story. You are here to do business. Have you ever wondered why this blessed country has not progressed significantly relative to its potentials? You complained of infrastructure and a host of other problems; those problems are there for a reason you should know. I do not mean anything negative. Just bother about relevant issues. I wish you good luck. You are great. |
I'm yet to receive mine. My email is jthankgod@ymail.com. Thanks for this act of kindness -- sharing it free. |
