Brainydoo:Good morning. So where did you finally board the vehicle? |
PastorFire good morning. Abeg I need your help on something in Jos. I've sent you a DM. |
Rankett:It's not clear if binance.ae was bought by Binance as it's still not redirecting away from Sedo. READ THIS |
IgiveLadiesBj:The guy might loose out on the domain on one ground: He is not resident in Canada or a citizen of Canada. The domain in question is binance dot ca. |
This kind of article should be pushed to the front page often instead of the short and illogical articles which allows tribalists and nitwits have a field day on the front page thinking they have the best opinion. |
JohnnA1:I think I must have screenshot it from the sales report thread. |
Domainer1999:It took 34 years before it's worth the $1.7 million sale price. That is investment. New domainers register a name and get discouraged it doesn't sell in a year. That is a gambling mindset. What are you registering? How long are you willing to wait to sell it? Do you have a model to maintain/build your portfolio or you're just doing insha'allah? That is what separates gamblers from investors.

Yemd:That sounds like a ready buyer. If you want to take the offer, all you need to is reply in a professional manner without sounding desperate. Here is what I'd reply with. Thanks Yemd for the offer. We'll take $200 for the domain. The price has been updated on the checkout page. You can only use either "We" or "I" depending on how your initial pitch sounded. PS: Attached below is a swipe of all the responses AwesomeDuru dropped on this thread. I know some of you will still come back to ask how to reply to "how much" outbound responses. |
From the few questions I've watched, the Labour Party candidate looks very knowledgeable and well-informed. I say this not because of Peter Obi. We all know Labour will not even get the top 2 spots in the election result. The SDP candidate also answers questions articulately well. This shows he has an idea of what is expected of him if given the chance. The Accord party candidate sounds a bit nervous but he also answers the questions well. The APC candidate as expected, had to defend his performances in the last four years against what he plans to bring onboard if given the mandate again. He wasn't confident at times with his facts and figures which makes me think some of them may be lies. The most disappointing is the PDP candidate. That man is bereft of knowledge. He is more interested in attacking the government rather than telling people what he is going to do to make things different. It's a shame that he is the flagbearer of the party twice in the gubernatorial elections. |
Greenscientist:It's a very good question. There are different reasons but the most important is for upgrade. 1. For upgrade. Most start-ups are financially constrained when setting things up so they may not be able to afford the best name for their business. The next best thing to do in such cases would be to register lesser extensions or add prefixes/suffixes to find available names. They could even decide to go for a different name entirely from the keyword they would have loved to use. Facebook started as The Facebook, Nike was formerly called Blue Ribbon Sports, Xiaomi upgraded to mi.com, etc. There are many of those upgrades every month which doesn't make the news. 2. Traffic Some domain names which has been used in the past has good traffic. If such domains are redirected to a new website, they will help the domain gain visitors especially if the contents on the referring domain is related to what the new website offers. For example, if Nairaland.com were to shut down and the domain is redirected to a blog like lindaikeji, the traffic the referring domain provides alone will make Linda Ikeji's website the most popular among Nigerians. More visitors means more money. 3. Authority A good domain conveys authority in that industry. Amazon is a top brand already but they have some very good one-word domains redirecting to their website as well. Which would you trust more between shoes.com and WeSellShoes.com? Having shoes.com redirecting to your e-commerce store for example would make people buy more from you. Some top brands also acquire solid names which can help them diversify in the future. You can also call it brand protection. I think Amazon owns Accept, Look, Exchange, all in dot com. That aside, having Geo domain names redirecting to your website confirms you as authority in that city who offers that service. Names like AustinPlumber, DallasRealtor, ChicagoDentist, SeattleFlorist, etc. will get snapped up by businesses if they are available even though one of them (realtor) is a trademarked word. 4. Staying ahead of competitors As weird as this sounds, some business owners acquire domain names pitched to them not because they need it but because they would rather other businesses don't have it. This is the reason why some Geo domain names bought by end users don't redirect away from where it sold even though the person that purchased it is still in business. I believe others will explain more. |
sleuthhound:Let's assume the most preferred candidate by Nigerians wins in 2023, will every job seeker get good employment? If yes, please tell me how using one of the candidates' manifestos. |
Nihaoma:Kindly expatiate on this. |
arizon101:Thanks sir. Even though the terms sound new to me, I appreciate your response. |
CaptainFM1:Thanks boss. I'm bookmarking this. I will get back to you with step by step updates whenever NEPA permits. |
CaptainFM1:Boss I have the tv box and I can afford the subscription. Please teach me how to go about it. |
id911:That is because you've gained knowledge through experience. Money is important so is the knowledge. |
Carmal90:Said he didn't know there is a business which involves selling domain names even though he has been registering domain names for long. COVID 19 made him discover domaining and now he's killing it. He announced this month that he has crossed over $200k in sales this year. |
Learner47:I swear. That was what came to my mind immediately I read the post. Cashew kindly share with us the names you sold and for how long you've been registering domain names. |
arizon101:Sir, data aside, do you need to subscribe for those 12,000 channels? I'm interested in getting IPTV just for football but I'm discouraged with idea of having to subscribe for the channels and also the data at the same time. Cc: CaptainFM1 |
How much is your subscription? |
There is only a thin line between creativity and stupidity.
|
Zacks43:Just confirmed from their official handle that they're not recruiting even though the signed letter is since May 12. Apologies @ xboy1993 even though I don't believe hotnigerianjobs will post fake listings.
|
kolarov93:Na today you start dey apply for government job? Just relax, they will fix everything later. |
Emmy000seun:https://www.niscareer.org.ng/ The website is not live yet though. |
Xboy1993:You guys won't even make inquiries before screaming fake. Did the OP put his phone number or email for you to contact him? He didn't even include that could have warranted your accusation. You guys should try portraying yourselves as literates at least. |
Sapiosexuality:How did you arrive at this conclusion? |
We will know the true story by July 6th. |
demo4ril97:I sent a screenshot of the NIN document. Like nkeona said, you should have withdrawn litecoin instead of BTC from Epik. |
therealMcCain:I can attest to all that you've said about her. I sell my Payoneer funds to Cokebar then later started using her as escrow for my Nairaland dealings. I still do. While I can't find any wrong from her chat with omni247, I do agree that some trusted exchangers and escrows on Nairaland are sometimes rude. I formerly use Wese90 who is also one of the most trusted guys on the business section. Though very friendly and courteous, a single unprofessional remark ended our business relationship after many deals and referrals. Cokebar your services are good but it can be improved. Asking simple questions from your customers after every transaction about how you can improve your services is a great feedback loop for business. Timely response/apology to unhappy customers on and off Nairaland is also a great tactic which shows prospective customers how responsive you are to complaints. |
KubwaBoy:I'm kicking. You were one of the first persons I interacted with when I joined this thread. I haven't been seeing your activities here for quite some time now. How is domaining and other offline ventures? |
KubwaBoy:Boss it's been a long long time. Hope you are good? |
Nigeriaismine:Congratulations on the success story and on your recent sale. I'm sure there's something to be learnt from it for everyone. But hope say una family never break? Dis one wey your brother no gree pay your school fees because you no follow im wife for social media ![]()
