Early this morning, all the streets along ziks avenue from Eke-Awka down to Amenyi was covered with unarmed mobile policemen. The Policemen were given orders not to wield any weapons not today. (So people including me) came to watch the remains of the late war lord an hopefully catch a last glimps. But unfortunately the convoy didn't ply that route all we saw was choppers that filled the air. Thus we set our eyes on those choppers and said our final goodbye. Rest in peace ikemba. |
I heard the news. It's a pity because Udoka estate is one of the biggest and expensive areas in Awka. So if houses begins to collapse there, then the state government has serious work to do. |
The reason why the boko haram sect continue their marathon killings unchallenged is that our president is too scared to challenge them, and our security operatives are in a deep slumber. I recall vividly in 2009 during the days of the late yaradua when the group raised their ugly head, he bursted the group and even went as far as executing the then leader. Its clear that the sect has some major nothern government juice backing them. But the question we need to ask ourselves is that are we going to keep folding our arms while a group on rampage keeps executing and maming innocent Nigerians on a daily basics? Don't we Nigerians know that the government has no protection for us against boko haram, because they are the boko haram themselves? Finally i would suggest that something concrete must be done by the government to bring the activities of that group to a halt or else this counry might just experience civil war2 |
Good bye. It's been a pleasure doing nairaland business with you. |

Imagine you are passing by an ATM machine installed outside the bank's premises; the machine was dispensing cash without anyone in front of it and its after office hours. What would you do? A. Cancel the operation; B. Press CONTINUE if possible to drain the machine; C. Notify the policemen in the next check-point D. Walk away, Honest answers please. |
The late Igbo leader, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu would be buried in an American gold mixed with bronze casket,Yea I believe he deserves that kind of burial. To all Igbo haters on this forum, whether you like it or not, Ojukwu woudl always be a legend and a worrior who came to the aid of his people when they needed him most. He was a Lt.Conel and had aids and able bodied young men that could have ensured his safety. But he didn't fold his arms during the massacre of the Igbos in 1966 as a result of the failed coup by Nzeogwu and co, but he stood up and fought for his brothers so I believe that a gold caskets isn't to much to bury such a hero. So if you Igbo haters on this forum feel it's a waste of resources, then go and hug a transformer and allow us bury our hero in the best way we can. ![]() |
They can't wreck any havoc here in the east because if they do, they would surely regret it. If the bombs they've been throwing in the northern states isn't enough, then they should set themselves ablaze and allow us live in peace, because if they try anything herein the east, they won't be able to handle the consequencies. |
May his gentle soul rest in peace, he was an icon and I think that the Ndigbo race should emulate his humility and honesty. He would forever be remembered for his contributions for his beloved race. Adieu Papa. |
niddamugu:Now that's my fear, to be honest, I don't believe that man one bit. ![]() |

I think they should call of the strike then continue negotiations. Also on the other hand, Jonathan should know that it's humans he's ruling not animals, in Awka here, the strike wasn't as effective as i heard it was in places like Lagos, PH and Abuja. In fact apart from banks and a few few filling stations that were shut down, you would hardly notice that there's a strike going on. But that didn't stop the price of commodity from going up, Yesterday I bought a liter of fuel for N180 when mr president is saying 140 and now 97. So what I think is that if he (Mr. President) has the interest of the Nigerian people at heart, then he should avoid taking decisions which he knows would affect the masses negatively. I mean things are really bad here, he has to reason with us, this refinery they're talking about didn't IBORI (former delta state governor) build one in South Africa? Wasn't it state fund he used to build a personal refinery for himself? If Jonathan want's to build a refinery, I strongly believe that Nigeria has the funds for it; so he shouldn't starve us to death just to achieve his goal. |

I don't understand why Boko Haram would be on one side confidently boasting of how they are going to ruin the country, and the best this Jonathan of a man can do is to arrest people that are organizing a peaceful protests. Now is it that all the killings BOKO HARAM are doing doesn't bother him? Or is it that the security operatives in the country are too powerless to handle them? Why is it powerless men he choose to pick on? Finally, I would advise that Nairaland members watch their tongue and desist from using fowl language against Jonathan or else this sit might cease from existing. It's clear that we're in a dictatorship regime so lets begin to readjust ourselves in order to avoid stories that touch. |
umechuma:It's high time the Igbos, yourubas and hausas go our seperate ways, beacuse it's clear now that we can no longer live with each otherpeacefully. So In order to avoid further bloodshead, I would suggest that we go our seperate ways. To hell with one Nigeria. ![]() |
Beware Aids and STDs are real. |
Remii:Because he's confused and secondly, he doesn't have any agenda for this country that's why. |

Not bad. |
Prove me wrong if I say Jonathan has failed Nigerians. Boko haram is terrorizing the north, The N18,000 minimum wage is yet to be implemented, The major reason Nigerians voted this Jonathan of a man was because of his promise to restore power to the Nation; the power we're yet to see. Corruption and unemployment on the climax. Our roads are practically death traps. And the best this man can think of at a time like this is to remove fuel subsidy and add more burdens to the Nigerian people he claims to love. Why didn't the late Yar'adua remove subsidy when he was rehabilitating the Niger Delta militants? after all the fuel is in their land. Why didn't he say that in order of maximize security in that region (Niger Delta) and rehabilitate them, they would remove subsidy so that the country can generate more funds for the excerise, Nigerians would have understood. Instead he made them drop their arms without torturing Nigerians, and even reduced the fuel price to N65 against Obasanjo's N70. I think it's high time Jonathan resigns before he wrecks this country any further. About the proposed NLC strike, I'm fully in support of it; and I pray it holds so that they (The Government) would know that we Nigerians aren't happy with their actions. |
tellwisdom:Just give her two 50 liter Jerry cans filled with fuel and I'm sure she would be yours for |
