Nistevea:This isn't feasible considering the millions of graduates that leave our various tertiary institutions across the country every year, that's why you're given the option of redeployment back to your state of residence if you can prove that you're sick or on any kind of medication. The government didn't make such provision available for the scheme, maybe due to its short period (11 months). So if you feel you can't cope medically in your PPA due to its archaic neighborhood like you stated in your post, get yourself a medical report from any government hospital and apply for redeployment on health grounds. You can't expect to be placed on health insurance for a scheme that isn't even up to a year. Corpers will abuse the insurance previleges and begin to demand money for even cough and cold. Some will even fake illness just to collect cash from the government. |
A bird at hand they say is better than 10,000 in the forest. Continue with your current job, cdon't let the huge pay the new job is offering decieve you, what if you go there can't meet up with your target due to your inability to secure a client base and expensive product? It means your pay will be deducted and you might end up earning less than what you're currently earning in your present place of work. |
kponkedenge:And women. |
You have a calling for children ministry. If you're not doing anything for God in the church, find a way to serve him in this particular area. Teach his children and groom them in the way of the Lord. |
Truvel:We shouldn't attach spirituality into everything we experience. I've seen babies and toddlers experience such severally. They shake suddenly when they're asleep, as if maybe they're falling from somewhere. It's nothing. Prayers is good, but most times we Nigerians bother ourselves too much over irrelevant issues. |
If the average Nigerian can practice everything being thought in various churches across the country, this nation will be a better place. |
makydebbie:Wao, that's good... congratulations, I wish you all the best. |
1. Barbing, if you can learn it very well and have enough money to open your own barbing shop, you'll definitely do well. 2. Trade. Trade is another area you can easily explore. Could be clothes, food stuffs, building materials, motor parts...etc. once you can find someone to teach you how the market works and what the business is all about, you're good to go. 3. Welding. This is another good skill, cos with the right connections, you can get contracts from oil companies to service their firms. It just depends on how you package and publicize yourself. 4. Driving. Most cooperate firms will employ you once you learn it well, and is very conversant with the road network even if it's WAEC that you have, and you'll be paid a fair sum. 6. Shoe and Pam slippers making. This is another area you can explore, if you can lean this work very well and your prices are affordable you'll make a fortune cos hundreds of guys will patronize you. Good luck. |
Kudos to her, finally some good news from Nigeria. That's a relief. |
temidayo2002:Whichever will be more convenient and less stressful for you. |
It depends on the job or the particular position the guy was applying for. If its customer relations, customer service, or anything that has to do with him interacting with customers and sending them sending mails...etc, then I'm solidly behind your boss for dropping him, cos a poorly constructed English can make the company a laughing stock before the eyes of the public. But if it's just a regular job, where he's confined to an office and given certain tasks for the day to work on, then I'll say your boss went overboard by dropping him. Cos picking a candidate with a well constructed English over a candidate with a high IQ isn't healthy for the company. |
ultimatenath1:All the transportation companies I know of that accept franchise all make use of buses not sienna, meaning you'll have to sell off the Corolla and add it to the money you're hoping to use for a Sienna and get a bus. Then you're good to go. For the franchise, I will recommend peace mass transit because they ply almost all the route in Nigeria and have thousands of trusted and dedicated passengers, or AKTC (Akwa-Ibom Transportation Company) cos of the distance...the longer the distance, the higher the price. And there's something I forget to mention in my previous posts, some companies will permit you one or maximum of two loadings per week (depending on availability of passengers on ground) because they'll want to load their own buses as well as other registered private owners (franchise) like you. So if you've exhausted your weekly allocation of two loadings, and feel you can still cover up to 3-5 trips in the same week cos you need money, you'll have to bribe the company manager in the park you're loading and you'll be allowed to load even though you're not qualified to do so. You should also note that bribes ranges from between 15-40k depending on the distance of the journey and the greediness of the manager. |
SoCurious:You're welcome |
I will advise you to go for interstate transportation. Uber, taxify, bolt...etc are all overcrowded with husslers. They're not as lucrative as they used to be in the past, no thanks to unemployment which has thrown basically almost all the youths into it. Meaning you have a hard time getting customers due to the availability of idle competitors around. Interstate transportation is still very lucrative, most especially if you're driving long distances. Say like Lagos to the East, or Lagos to the south south, like PH, Uyo. All you have to do is to buy a bus and register it as franchise under any reputatable existing transportation company and you're good to go. if you're driving it yourself which I will strongly recommend that you do, three trips in a week can fetch you over 400k. The only deductions in your money would be fuel, feeding and the commission you'll give to the company you're operating under, and the rest is yours. Let me break it down for you. If you register under AKTC, Lagos to uyo is N15,000. N15,000 X 15 passengers = N225,000 Fuel (you'll need at least two tanks to get to uyo) N170 per liter X 140liters two tanks a tank is 70liters = N23,000 Commission for the company you registered under is 10% per trip. 10% of N225,000 = N22,500. Feeding and miscellaneous = N10,000 Total expenses = N225,000 - N23000 - N22,500 - N10,000 = N169,500. So your profit per trip = 169,500 If you make at least 3 trips in a week, then you can do the mathematics and know how much money you'll be cashing out. And during season like Easter and Christmas, when transport fares usually skyrocket, you'll be making double of what you're making currently. You can never make such money in a week with taxify or Uber or bolt. |
This is so unprofessional of them. As long as she didn't compromise the code of conduct of the NPF, they have no right to terminate her appointment. |
So op why did you quit teaching? |
The boss overreacted. Illiteracy is a word used to describe an uneducated person, and not an insulting word. How else should he have explained to her that his mum isn't fluent with English language? I'm not surprised though cos that's how it is with female bosses, they're always so paranoid. |
Sometimes trying out something new can be fun. I won't mind doing this as well, just for the fun of it. |
Adonis86:Lol you're right. If the pen is to be destoryed, the hands that compelled it to do the signing should be destroyed as well. Only then can Justice be truly served. |
In Nigeria, they don't. Outside Nigeria, they do. If you have work experience and go abroad for Msc, you'll definitely get a good paying job over there. |
That would depend on the firm or organization you're working with. I don't think there's a fixed pay for them. Reason being that the current demand for them is very minimal compared to the hundreds of thousands of them on ground seeking employment. So most times, prospective employers use this to their advantage by under pricing them. |
You're a young man and still very dependent on your parents and guardians for survival, therefore I'll advise you to humble yourself and pick any of the two options your dad gave to you. The motor mechanic or schooling. If you're scared of schooling because of the expenses involved and wouldn't want to drop out half way, then go for the motor mechanic. I understand your preferred options are backery and spare parts but if you must know, those businesses require huge capital which you don't have presently. Learning how to fix cars doesn't require any capital. All you need is to learn the work very well and you're good to go. Once you learn the work properly and become a successful mechanic, you can still enroll in school with your own funds. And you're even in Anambra, unizik does part-time undergraduate programs, you can enroll for any course you wish to study and still get your first degree, help your siblings and father as well. The choice is yours. |
Promxy47:Are you in a similar situation as the op? |
He was so eager to tell us the insults he received from people due to the nature of work he was into then, but failed to tell us the kind of job he's into currently that can actually pay all his haters. In life trying to prove to people who once looked down on you that you've made it isn't necessary. Just keep working hard to climb higher on the ladder of success and continue to live your life away from public view peacefully and happily. Whenever they run into you, let them be the one to testify of your success and not the other way round. |
In life there's always a starting point. A general in the army doesn't just wake up as a general, likewise the MD of a bank. They all started from somewhere, and grew themselves into that position through hard work. I will therefore advise you accept the offer, and see it as a starting point. Its better than being idle, you've got bills to pay and personal needs and expenses to make, if you aren't working in this present economic crisis, believe me, things are going to be very much difficult for you. Gain the relevant work experience required so you can boost your CV and keep one eye on the lookout for something much better. Good luck. |
shullamite:Car wash Standard dry cleaning services. Standard restaurant with different varieties of dishes across Nigeria. Bar and Barbecue, business. Standard barbing saloon and a section for females. |
Go and learn all this accounting softwares like peach tree, Tally... etc. Then if you have the finances go for ICAN. With that you'll definitely get a good job . Good luck. |
