NYSC / Re: Whole First Semester Missed, what Will I Do Please (help A Brother) by CrazyMan(m): 11:01am On Mar 20, 2021
He should have at least informed his hod and course adviser, then defer the admission. That's they best way to go about it. So that whenever he's ready to come back he'll just continue.

Not informing the school is dangerous cos some HODs won't even listen to you, they'll just assume that you've dropped out. But since it's only one semester he missed, if he has paid his school fees, he can still be considered but will be asked to repeat the year.

Would you lower your standards to get a job?
For me NO!
You know your worth based on experience and skills, just go for the best. You can negotiate and settle for the one, that suits your career taste.
Unless you want to change a career and go for something new, then you are free to lower your standards.
What is your opinion about this?
Explain what you mean by lowering your standards...I want to understand exactly where you're coming from?

Salaries are very limiting like the poster above me rightfully pointed out, and it's worse if you don't have a side hustle to support yourself and family.

Business is the main deal these days, but being a computer science undergraduate, you have an upper hand cos the world has been digitalized. I'll advise you to go into software programming, and other application packages. Develop yourself in that your field and you will be making millions from the comfort of your house.

Ask yourself this question...What is it that people use it everyday, no matter what they do .. they must need or do that thing

Things like Pos, people will always need to take money everyday.

Pure water outlet that sell in wholesales after being supplied by the company... You can monopolise an area.

Foodstuffs, in bulk, cos people will always eat, or you can even open a food canteen and sell already cooked food.

Toiletries and ladies sanitation stuff... Cos they will always need it... You can contact girls schools, and be supplying to them

Building materials, people will always want to build or renovate their already existing buildings.

Good luck.

Events / Re: Your Questions On Wedding Planning Answered! by CrazyMan(m): 12:44pm On Mar 19, 2021
Rocktation:
Best wishes, dearie. What d'you mean by where to start from? You've started already. I mean, you've picked the dates. That is a major step.

Anyway, have you picked your wedding colors? Have you booked for anywhere close to the wedding venue, which will be the reception hall? Reserved or booked ahead for rental equipments? Who's gonna decorate the hall, the cars? Print the invitation, RSVP cards (optional), church programme (make sure you keep for yourself and your groom) and start sending them out. Just the IV and RSVP cards, I meant oo!

Is there an option to write your own wedding vows and have you written them? If No and you really want to, these Steps To Writing Your Own Wedding Vows, will help you immensely. Does the institution require you to show blood tests? Have you completed your name change documents? Applied for marriage licence yet? Sent wedding announcements to local newspapers/magazines, maybe?

Are you going to sell aso-ebis? For Bride's and Groom's sides, for both the trad and the white wedding? Who and who's going to be among the bridesmaids and groomsmen? Are they aware of how much their wears might cost them? Shouldn't they be visiting the tailor's like right now? Determine how many are interested now. Give out the gifts (if you want to give gifts for these) as you're distributing them, so no one person can buy a single bundle, share among 6 people and then, disturb you for 6 gifts on your day or after. And if you're solvent enough, you could give gifts to your guests. Like jotters/calenders/pens/umbrellas, on which your faces're printed. Whether they buy aso-ebi or not.

Hey, what about your own wedding attire(s)? Are you certain they meet the dress code of the institution (church/mosque) as regards sleeves, low neckline, color....?? Of course, Do-Not-Forget-To-Buy-Wedding-Rings!! And don't forget to hand them over to the ring bearer or best man, on that day too - to take to the church or wherever.
Who's going to do your make-up btw, make your hair, tie your head tie...you know...help you dress? You need professional touch, of cos. It's not everything that our aunts and mums can help us do perfectly, all the time.

Confirm which cars (2 or 3) and drivers, will be taking you, your groom, your train and maybe folks, to all the venues. Someone might need to coordinate the parking at the venue's parking lot too.

What does your guest list look like? D'you think more than a 100 people will show up? Or are you going to make it strictly-by-invitation, to help you impede chaos, even better? How are they going to sit? Just anywhere? Have you booked to have that particular caterer you've heard wonderful stories about, before someone else, makes her unavailable on your day? Discuss your menu with her/him. Is she/he going to be baking your cake or will you just order a beaurrriful one? Oh, also check in with your vendors: confirm arrival and delivery times. Also, do not forget to make arrangement for people to serve and maybe ushers too. Yes, they're different. cheesy

What about your MC, a DJ/live band, a photographer, a videographer? Give a list of important shots to take, to your wedding photographer. You get the drift-- students from so so so, members of kegites, daddy's family and so on.

Practiced your dance moves? Don't get "served" by your hubby on that day oo. People must "spray" you money. Which of your trusted friends/fam will help you pick them up and keep them safe, until after the boogie?

Would you need to hire hotel rooms for out of town invitees? Where will you retire to, on that very day, after the ceremony? Honeymoon's where? Flight tickets? cheesy

Best wishes, dear!
Rocky are you into wedding planning?

Career / Re: Money For Federal Job by CrazyMan(m): 9:01pm On Mar 14, 2021
If you have 1million naira to spare, give it to her to start a business, when payments for government jobs was still geninue was like 5-10 years ago.

Today, it's very difficult to get a direct link cos politicians have highjacked all the government parastatals and planted their own people there. All senators, house of reps members, governors, ministers... etc have their candidates in the various government parastatals across the country, including thousands who are on standby pending when they'll be an opening so they can occupy the vacant position.

So paying such amount of money to a supposed agent is just like dashing them your money cos you won't get the job at the end of the day.

Crime / Re: Gunmen Kill 4 Farmers In Oyo State by CrazyMan(m): 6:11pm On Mar 08, 2021
I think it's high time the government stop treating this bandits/herders issue with kid gloves. To think that whenever farmers are murdered in their farms the matter is swept under the carpet but whenever people speak up against the murderous bandits the government immediately directs all their strength against the person/group is very wrong.

There's been so much killing across the country and sadly, not a single person has been prosecuted, these killers aren't ghosts, they live in homes, why can't they be tracked, arrested and brought to book?

If the government can no longer secure our lives and properties despite the outrageous tax we're being forced to pay, then I think it's high time we part ways for the benefit of everyone. Spilt this country into as many pieces as possible let everyone cater for himself period.

Abeg, I need white sneakers for next week's service o. I don't care if it's rubber or the normal type, but the wahala now is that I use size 47.

Who sells/knows anyone that sells.
If you have enough money, just go to a cobbler and he'll make your size for you. Both the boot and white sneakers, as many as possible. Finding such size in the market will be very difficult cos dealers only buy sizes they know they will sell.

Good luck.

I have read so much negative reports about the ezza people. Their taste for blood has no control again..

They go as far as inviting their fellow fulani to aid them in killing the indigeneous populace.

Those guys might have lived in Somalia years back.
Ezza people behave similar like fulanis, they practice polygamy, they give birth to multiple kids, they're aggressive, fight a lot and easily get offended over nothing.

Years back they fought with Ezzillor for over a decade, and thousands were killed. But you see this Effium crisis, don't believe everything you read on the internet. Effium indigens where the ones who started the killings.

The fight started from park chairmanship election, the tenure of current chairman who happens to be from effium had expired so as expected ezza were the ones to produce the next chairman. On the election day effium people came prepared and started killing ezza settlers telling them that they have no right to contest leadership with them in their land, forgetting that ezza is the largest and most populated local government in Ebonyi Sate.

Obviously when you kill someone, he'll go back regroup and come back for reprisals, that's exactly what's going on in effium currently.... Reprisals from ezza people.

The worse part of this flyover is that it's barely 5 years old. Why are we so corrupt in this country?

Aroma doesn't need a flyover, even kwata junction doesn't need as well, the only place I know that needed a flyover is Unizik junction because of the heavy traffic jam of campus shuttle.

Well I just hope the government seals it for now pending demolishion cos it's like a disaster waiting to happen. All those heavy tankers, trailers and trucks going to Enugu and Abakaliki will keep climbing it unaware of the impending danger.

Career / Re: Please How Long Does A Background Check Took? by CrazyMan(m): 7:29am On Mar 04, 2021
A background check shouldn't take more than a week if the advertised position is very urgent. Most government parastatal and some coperate organizations will even employ you because of the urgency to fill up that vacant position, then run the checks after a couple of months or years.

For them to completely go mute on you for 60 days isn't healthy for your employment. Cos if the position was as urgent as it was advertised they should have gotten back to you earlier.

I'll still advise that you send a follow up mail to them, just in case they've forgotten.

Good luck.

Career / Re: My Hot Tempered Colleague by CrazyMan(m): 12:54pm On Mar 03, 2021
When you make yourself always available to people you'll loose importance in their lives cos sooner or later, they'll get tired of you.

You lost every shred of respect she had for you the day you started following her in that car...Like who follows a married woman to the market? Are you her bodyguard or something....

Sometimes free things might look like the best option we've got, but trust me, the stress that comes with it isn't worth it.

This incident costed you two things, you lost a considerable amount of money and you lost your respect as a man.

If I'm to advise you, I'll say stay away from that car and cut off whatever relationship you have with her limiting it to just regular greetings so that you can at least win back your integrity as a man.

During the lockdown, trucks carrying food were permitted to move about, markets were allowed to open provided they comply with the covid 19 rules.

So getting food for the birds and selling them shouldn't have been a problem, sales will obviously drop which was a normal thing during that period but saying you lost a poultry business that was generating millions in the space of 3 months doesn't sound realistic.

The boss asked her out and she declined, that's the reason for his sudden hatred towards her.

Her best option is to leave that hospital and seek employment elsewhere.

dominique:
Should hospitals be training nurses and giving certificates? That hospital must be a quack one, I doubt if the owner of that clinic is a certified medical doctor. Go and report that death centre to your state's ministry of health and have them shut downm
They're everywhere, I don't know about Lagos, but I've seen lots of them in the East.

They're mostly missionary owned hospital, they will have trainee nurses, who upon graduation will be given certificate to practice their nursing.

Most of them open and register a small clinic in their community with the skill they acquired from the hospital and begin practice, not everyone can afford a university nursing degree, this one is like an improvised version.

And to think that most communities lack basic medical facilities, these nurses make it big with their trade.

Romance / Re: Why Do People Want To Mourn You Instead Of Helping You ? by CrazyMan(m): 8:27pm On Feb 20, 2021
My dear it's the Nigerian system, many people have lived to regret the little helps they rendered to people in the past, many Nigerians take help as an entitlement when you give it to them and will go as far as insulting you the moment you choose to withdraw it.

I remembered an experience I had that just made me cut off from trying to help people.

The incident happened in 2019, there's this child whom I was so fond of in the flat where I stay she was just 5 at that time. So one day I didn't go to work, I saw her on the balcony (they stay on the 2nd floor while I stay on the 1st floor) I asked her what she's doing at home but I couldn't make any sense from the reply she gave to me so I climbed to their floor and pressed the bell, her dad answered and I asked him why my baby is at home during school hours, he simply told me that she was sent home because she hasn't paid her school fees.

I was touched and asked him how much her fees was, fortunately it was lower than what I estimated, so I made a transfer to his account and told him to take her to school. He thanked me and I left.

The following term, the same incident happened, this time he came directly to me and told me that her fees is due, I just stared at him like, what's my own?

He then told me that so I'll be here and his child wouldn't go to school, I was just pissed off and reminded him that his child's fees is his responsibility not mine. Do you know that after that encounter, this silly man and his lazy wife stopped replying my greetings, even told the child to stop coming to my flat. I just ignored them and learnt my lesson.

Many Nigerians take advantage of little helps you give to them, that's why so many people just prefer to cut off and act like they don't care. It's not that they don't care, they do but the consequences of their kindness is what most can't deal with hence their withdrawal attitude.

Sorry about your friend, rather than blaming his friends and family members, you can show him care and support by lending your shoulder for him to lean on pending when he'll get back on his feet. Help him the little way you feel you can.
