If it's someone you feel can be of help to you in getting another job, it will be wise to let him/her know your current state.

If it's just a random person looking for regular gossip, you can tell him/her fine, so as to avoid being the topic of their next discussion.

The Lord is your strength bro.

What has happened has happened, the most important thing here is that you've gotten the required experience, don't be so hard on yourself or start blaming yourself, see it as a stepping stone to attain greater heights. I believe that very soon you'll get something much better.

Good luck

Family / Re: Was It Necessary To Express Condolence? by CrazyMan(m): 2:28pm On Apr 21, 2021
TripleDdotcom has hit the nail on the head...so I have very little words to contribute here.

But nevertheless, I feel you should have at least sent a condolence message, it won't cost anything. Deaths isn't as regular as birthdays, weddings, dedications... etc. So when it comes in its unexpected manner the least one can do is to show that you're grieving with the family of the deceased by airing your voice.

Sometimes people just want you to be there for them in their grieving moments, they want you to stand by them, if you fail to do that, why should they maintain any kind of friendship with you?

You didn't do well.

I don't see anything wrong in complementing a lady you find attractive. Your duty in the establishment is to provide solutions to tasks, therefore your personal life is none of their concern.

Even if you moved first by reciting all the the romantic lines to her only to discover that she's your boss wife, I don't believe it will be logical for them to terminate your appointment because of that. She can simply tell you that she's married or she's your boss wife.

Where I feel you would deserve punishment is if you know she's your boss wife or she tells you and you still go ahead to try to win her over, then at that point, your appointment deserves to be terminated and you might be arrested for verbal molestation.

So guys I have a friend who works as a POS operator for his madam and she pays him 15k monthly. He also has to send daily summary of his transactions at end of day. Now this is where the problem lies, if he omits sending the summary she charges him 2k/day from his salary. Now, technically he earns #500/day. Is it right to penalize an employee four times their wage? Please he needs my advice. Can he protest the unreasonable penalty to his boss?

I'm going to be very honest with you... most of all these sales boys and girls are the ones ruining promising businesses.... majority of them will steal from their employers at the slightest opportunity they get.

A lot of people with funds these days are finding it difficult to open a business outside their state of residence because they might become victims of their staffs dishonesty and insincerity.

I know a friend whose business was ruined by the sales boys he employed to handle one of his shops.

Sometimes these conditions most bosses give prospective employees might seem harsh but if you look at it on the long run, they're only looking out for their business. These sales boys only care about their agreed salary, whether the business folds up or not, they're actually not concerned. Cos if the business folds up, they can easily go elsewhere to find another job leaving you to bear the pain of your loss. So you must be the one to enforce certain rules to ensure that your business is safe and the money you're paying them isn't a waste.

If he needs the job badly tell him to be extremely careful and serious with it, he can hang onto it pending when he'll see something better.

Yes...and even if they experience depression in any form, they'll look for the nearest pastor because we're religious in nature.

The average depressed Nigerian will feel more comfortable talking to a pastor than a professional counselor.

The fulani controlled media is fighting hard to look for an excuse to declare war on the Igbos, any unbiased person will easily know that Igbos are only defending their land from the murderous herdsmen whom the fulani government are sheltering.

With all the killings of farmers, across the South eastern states by known herdsmen, what has the government done to protect the lives and properties of the average Igbo man? Not a single arrest has been made so far.

Now we've decided to protect themselves by establishing our own security outfits you're here roping every atrocities committed in the region to us.

It will never be will with this government.

Leaving a job without having a much better offer in this present economy isn't wise.

If you had started this thread before quitting your job, I would have told you to hang in there and keep searching for something better. Or better still reach an agreement with the manage to give you a day or two as your off days which you will use to effectively hunt for a much better replacement.

But all the same, you have the experience in that field, and you've proven that you have the ability to solve problems, so that should fetch you something better.

Education / Re: The Craziest Thing A Student Had Ever Told You As A Teacher? by CrazyMan(m): 3:06am On Apr 04, 2021
Stop flogging other people's kids, I witnessed a live incident during my NYSC, days a female corper flogged a Jss2 student, the guy just fainted. It took the grace of God for us to revive him. Turned out that the guy wasn't sick but hungry.

Many people are starving, you can always communicate your message to them in a more civilized way than flogging them like animals, cos if you end up killing the child, the same community you're serving wouldn't hesitate to give you the jungle justice treatment.

Back to the topic... during my NYSC, a female student came to me and asked me where I stay, I told her what does she want to do in my house, she told me she wants to play with my pénis (although she didn't call it pénis directly. She called it pipe) I looked at her for some seconds after she told me what she meant by pipe and asked her how old she was, she told me 11, I shook my head and told her that it's very wrong for a woman to see a man's pipe let alone play with it that it can lead to severe stomach ache or death.

This child gave me the shock of my life when she told me that she plays with her uncle's own and he loves seeing her play with it and suck it. Upon further inquiries it turned out that she's a victim of sexual abuse by her own uncle whom she lives with.

I reported the incident to a mature female teacher who promised me that she'll get to the root of the matter, guess what....she did absolutely nothing, instead the uncle came and threatened me then withdrew the girl from the school.

I kept on asking myself, how did this so called mature female teacher handle this incident that it reached this level?

Not every elderly person is as matured as one thinks, I really felt for the child, never saw her again. This incident still troubles me till today even though it happened almost a decade ago.

The taxation abroad is more than that of Nigeria
For salary earners yes, for business owners no. Reason being that you're contributing your own quota towards reducing unemployment rate in their country so you'll be favoured.

In USA for instance, there's a very big difference between the taxes paid by salary earners and taxes paid by business owners. I don't know about Europe tho.

Why do you believe your church more consecrated than your home? By whose decree is this consecration you proclaims? undecided
The last thing I can ever do with my precious time is to engage in an argument about religion.

Your "spiritual atmosphere" in your churches is an imagined one. undecided
God is everywhere and He looks in your hearts to know your desires and intentions. He even commands you to enter into your closet when you pray to Him so no one sees or hears too, even when you are at home. Going out instead to your public places(churches) to pray and wail aloud does not meet His requirement then, does it? undecided
The church is a sacred place, a concecrated ground to God, it's different from the home.

Your heart needs to accept him (Jesus) first before you can comfortably fellowship with him in your home.

The church is also a place for revival, your heart can be renewed there through the word meted out from the altar by a pastor or priest.

So comparing the home and the church is totally out of point.

It's not like they are targeting elderly people at all. They don't even know which numbers belong to elderly people and which ones are not, they pick and call numbers at random. Elderly ones are just happened to be falling for their tricks.
I disagree my dear friend, they don't call random numbers.

Those people have your full data. When they call, they'll ask you to confirm your full name which they'll call out to you, date of birth and even call out your account details. The trick they use is that sometimes they might call out a wrong surname or date of birth, once you point out the error, they'll send you a code and instruct you to send it back to them so as to enable them sort out the error on your BVN details. Once you do that, your account will be wiped out in minutes.

The dates of birth which they obviously have access to easily helps them target elderly people cos they're easier targets then the regular wise street youth.

Please travel abroad, most business owners in Nigeria are lamenting bitterly because of the harsh economic atmosphere that has engulfed this country, currently suffocating and crippling so many businesses. A country where you're subjected to multiple taxation by the government, epileptic power supply admist heavy billing, insecurity, insincerity...etc. how do you expect your 50m investment to gain grounds within 2 years, it's almost impossible.

If you must invest, try properties...it's the only guaranteed area where you can be assured of continuous profits on a yearly basis. Just get a land outside Lagos (but in a town) that 50m can get you a 3 storey twin building of 2-3 bedroom flats.

Hand it over to a barrister to manage, and sit back and wait for your yearly credit alert. Anything outside properties is a very big risk which I won't advise you to gamble into rather I'll strongly advise you to leave this shit hole.

In this era of NIN and BVN you want to reduce your age? It will take your employer less than 5 minutes to access your data via your BVN and once your details starts contradicting each other, you should kiss that job good bye cos integrity is one of the major traits every prospective employer looks out for when hiring an employee.

Na wetin make me fail waec.. any question wey just dey lengthy a bit I dey skip am..

Anyway, I agree with her.. I know a guy that plays football professionally like he has played in Europe, Saudi Arabia and still playing at a club somewhere.. I have seen some of his post with big names training together and this guy own big big properties here in Nigeria.. I still wonder what kinda of brother he is when I see his younger brother on the street...

But one thing I'd suggest is when you make money.. instead of handing them cash to lavish or waiting for them to tell you about their business idea.. I'd rather you open businesses and make them managers, supervisors etc just engage them
This one is worse than giving them money. They'll run down the business without a second thought.

A friend on mine did something similar to his lazy elder brother, he got a warehouse at main market (Onitsha) and began importing electronics, and made him (the brother) the manager. Do you know that his lazy elder brother squandered both capital and profit on women despite being married and other lavish lifestyle. Today the business is dead and buried, and this same elder is still insulting his hardworking younger brother for not assisting him whenever he request for help.

I've learnt one thing in life...don't be too quick to display your success to your family members. Especially the extended ones, cos the lazy ones amongst them will see it as an opportunity to cash out. Just maintain the average live standard and keep them at arm's length.

You can relate with the hardworking ones who are recording similar success with you for ideas and encouragements, but stay far from the lazy ones. Cos even if you give them dangote's refinery to manage, they'll run it down, and still find a way to blame you when you ghost them.

which Federal Government job?

Some state civil servants are richer than federal government workers in Nigeria cos what they take home (in the ministry) daily doesn’t even make them touch their salary.

Civil service na civil service, Federal Government, State or Local government. Only salary difference which doesn’t amount to anything again, thanks to inflation.

If you aren’t in Director cadre or above in the ministry, you are still a servant.
Civil service doesn’t really improve the values of the workers cos they don’t really do much at work
State civil servants in Ebonyi don't earn up to 50k monthly, in fact working as a state civil servant in Ebonyi is more like slavery.

I guess he was referring to his state.
NYSC / Re: Whole First Semester Missed, what Will I Do Please (help A Brother) by CrazyMan(m): 11:01am On Mar 20, 2021
He should have at least informed his hod and course adviser, then defer the admission. That's they best way to go about it. So that whenever he's ready to come back he'll just continue.

Not informing the school is dangerous cos some HODs won't even listen to you, they'll just assume that you've dropped out. But since it's only one semester he missed, if he has paid his school fees, he can still be considered but will be asked to repeat the year.
