Dave Umahi, Governor of Ebonyi State, has stated that Peter Obi and his Labour Party would not be able to defeat the incumbent All Progressives Congress in the 2023 presidential election.

He, on the other hand, expressed joy at what the former Anambra governor was accomplishing with his Obedient campaign.

According to him, the Obidients' buzz has demonstrated that the South-East can no longer be ignored when it comes to the president.

"What occurred during the PDP and APC primaries was a form of miscalculation by our people," Umahi added, "but to say if they're ready for the president of the nation anytime, I think Peter Obi's movement is an eye-opener, and that's why I said I admire what he's doing." I'm heartened by what he's doing because if he weren't doing it, Southeast would have been forgotten.

"So, although my party wins, he would have laid a very excellent foundation for the Southeast presidency, so that nobody writes us off, and you can see the degree of his acceptance, which does not equate to victory over APC, I'm confident of it." Senator Walid Jibrin has resigned as Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party's Board of Trustees (BoT) (PDP).

Jibrin announced his decision during the ongoing PDP BoT meeting in Abuja.

This, he claims, is to ensure that the PDP's nominee, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, wins the 2023 election.

Following the departure of Walid Jibrin, a former Senate President, Adolphus Wabara, has been designated acting Chairman, Board of Trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party, The PUNCH learned on Thursday.

He has also been appointed as the Political Adviser to the PDP's National Chairman, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu.

Wabara, who was formerly the Secretary of the PDP BoT, will be named to the PDP's presidential campaign committee.

According to a source, the decision was made just seconds ago during the present BoT meeting in Abuja.

"The Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal, would quit as Chairman of the PDP Governors Forum shortly," a source stated.

Oppression and peer pressure are the main reason you see all this ritual killings here and there, infact, the don't fear anymore, they do it in broad daylight....
