did u by any chance change ur transmission fluid recently?..if yes then u probablly didnt replace with the correct honda certified transmission fluid.....

2. ur transmission is about failing...soon it wud stop entering reverse at all.

i would adcive you to replace ur transmission fluid asap..wash the filter throughly with petrol n allow to dry...then fill up with original honda atf ......if the problem persists...then u probally should be looking at buying a new gearbox soon.

the correct procedure for using a toks brainbox is for the eeprom inside the ecm to be flashed..this erases all old data in the ecm memory chip.....note disconnecting the battery terminals wont erase/flash the eeprom chip...........this can only be done at toyota dealerss..

what is happening is that ur car is running off the eprom data bank of whatever car that had the ecm b4...thus it has inherited all the running problems/defects of the old car .if you hv contacts in the usa..u cud buy a virgin ecm or ecm that the eprom has been flashed...that will most likely solve ur problem.....

i quoted the 2m for the 2003 4runner cos thats the price most nigerians wanna hear........a clean 2003 4runner.. is abt 2.3m naira minimum depending on the state/mileage

@chimsky a 2005 4runner v6 is btw 2.8m n 3.5m depending on the state/mileage......., though a mid model refresh was done in 2006 so the 2006 looks beta than the 05...round fog lights..better llooks etc

the 2002 infinity outclasses the 2000 4runner interms of looks/interior/finishing...but the 4runner wins over reliability n ruggedness.........the solution out of ur dilenma wud be to go for a 2003 4runner.. 4th gen 4runner is 2003 to 2009 the 2003 being the first in the series is cheaper than the newer models hovering around the 2m price range or even lower depending on its state
