EVEN IF YOU HAVE ALL DOCUMENTS AND THE STRONGEST TIES IN Nigeria, IF you DONT GO WITH THE GRACE OF GOD, FORGET IT. I SAW A HIGH RANKING CIVIL DEFENSE OFFICER BEING DENIED.
A BIG MAN AND ALL HIS FAMILY MEMBERS PROLLY GOING FOR THEIR HOLIDAYS ALL BEEN DENIED.

1. Be confident in your answers
2. Don’t be desperate(very important.)
3. Those guys are highly trained and can sense desperation miles away. Go with the mentality that it’s either you get or not. After all Its not an interview for a million dollars check.

You have to fill the form separately. Every individual is filled separately. at the point of scheduling the appointment, then u can schedule together as a family.

When you say schedule together as a family, you mean one profile can book for all others to join in the appointment? My mom and I have interview next month and am added as a family member on her profile. On the appointment letter, only her details came up (ds 160 confirmation number, and via a fee) nothing regarding mine except my name. I have sent mails to ustraveldocs, no reply.

221g that has been flying up and down @ DHL pick up point. I'm not surprised Dropbox is now off the table in Nigeria. Smh

I'm sorry but you're dodging his questions. You can't come here seeking advice from people when you won't be honest with them just like how you were not honest with the VO before he/she granted your visa about being pregnant but you told them @ the point of entry you are. This forum is here to help those in need but honesty is excruciatingly important here. There's no time for dilly dallying. Best of luck in your future application.

This is the reason I keep hammering on applicants having separate profiles (even if the youngest is just a day old), whether they are booking appointment together or not. It is because of this kind of "future", you will now have to be doing so many unnecessary back and forth just to resolve something that may not have been an issue. Quite key!

I will call them tomorrow. The only thing there regarding me is appointment made by 'with my name'.My mom's MRV fee is there but mine is absent. I sincerely hope that they will not say book another one as i booked this since december last year.

No Bro I do not have m own personal cgi page. Since its my mom sponsoring the trip and I'm a dependent on her and we travel together. First renewal, no issues. Second renewal landed us in 221g.

I haven't said anything about bad energy. I am simply saying that it is very easy to lose confidence about your chances for a visa when you read about all the negative outcomes.

Besides, submitting your passport via drop box does not guarantee you a visa, you could still be denied or called in for an interview. We've been reading the stories.

It's OK. Myself and mother got 221g for interview in June. Counting down the days gradually. Congrats on getting yours though..

I think the US guys just want to know if the information they have about you is still valid and to check if you still meet the requirements for the NIV. Since you had successfully renewed your visa via Dropbox after spending three months, then I guess you shouldn’t have any problem during the interview. Mind you, question may come up as to why you spent that much time in the US, the onus is on you to defend that strongly because the VO May think you can repeat that when you are eventually issued another visa or decide to stay back.

A few days to be Frank. All I kept seeing was June so I just told myself it may seem far but its not. We are in March now. June don almost reach...

The mentioned that he works in the mother's office more of family business so possibly his role in the office is not so crucial and he can be exempted for for few months.

The 3month trip was before I came back to assume my role and then renewed via Dropbox a second time despite filling this in the Ds160 form at that time...

This thing will be messing up people's travel plans. Why give 221G when uv not made adequate preparation to accommodate extra pressure on appointment dates?

What if ur schedule or travel plan is exceeded by the date uv chosen for 221G appointment? What intent ll u now be defending during the interview when the event has passed?

For how long did u keep checking coz it's very strenous checking every few hours every day?

Is there no way to FasTrack?

I can't say when a viable date will be made available as its as the discretion of the embassy. Calm down and keep checking. It will update soon enough. If after a day or two it doesn't you may have to send a mail to them about the date issue. As for plans, I did have some plans last December for a trip and once the delay (administration processing) took longer than normal, I had to cancel the ticket and then I got the 221g summons.

I don't know of any firm that will give you 3 months leave... that 6 months on your stamp is not for you, it's for people in extraordinary circumstance. 3 months in U.S is a stretch if it was, 6 weeks it's still understandable.

No, as I stated earlier, it's a family business. I was studying for my masters in Ghana when I got my first visa in 2014 so once I was done, I took the trip and as I said it snowed like crazy where I was that time such that my uncle who I stayed with refused to let me travel back until the weather was better as he would have had to drive me to the airport and its an 1h 20mins drive. Agreed it was a stretch, but I filled that when I did Dropbox for the second visa (2016) and it was renewed. This is my third renewal that had m stuck with 221g and my last trip (last year) was just 4weeks.

I have mailed the service desk thru the site and they replied saying it's an discretion of the embassy to give out dates for 221G interview.

I got 221g letter in december 2018, and the earliest date i got was june 2019 and booked it all the same. Keep checking everyday and the next available date will show up eventually...

It's very obvious that he/she has no strong ties in Nigeria and has very high chances to not returning to Nigeria if given the next visa.

There is nothing obvious here. I spent 3 months simply on holidays during the winter season of 2015. I came back and focused on the family business and i renewed via dropbox successfully in 2016 and did not even bother travelling until when the visa was about to expire which was last year and the visit was just for a month. I have very strong ties down here so ask m first before jumping to conclusions.

Yes, from December to March. It was snowing heavily where I was so I had to relax a bit for it to subside. My first time flying and fear grip me no be small.

To the gurus in the house, i would like your opinions. I have gone through this thread and i am glad its helping a lot of us with visa issues. Myself presently is awaiting 221g in June (that was the earliest date i got) and unfortunately i do not have back up of my saved ds 160 forms as i lost mine as well as my mom not once but twice (the first one i used to successfully renew our visa) and the second one lost due to laptop malfunctions. This is our second renewal. I have been trying to recall what i filled in both scenarios and what could have possibly raised a flag that requested us for another interview and my conclusion arrived at how much i earn (its quite basic at about 40k monthly) as its a family business owned by my mother. With respect to my mom, her income is very stable and we have never flouted any rules whatsoever while in the USA. My first visit, i spent 3 months in Indiana for holidays while her first visit was just a month in California with my elder sibling visiting a relative. The second visit was together (my mom and i) to New York and we spent just a month for the holidays. Visa expired last June and i did dropbox by November until i received the 221g issue.

I would like to respectfully ask for any advice on what we should prepare ourselves on since i have no backups. Also do i need to build my account plus taking our bank statements to the interview, will that help our cause (as i have read on this thread the VOs do not even bother to look at it) least to show that i certainly have strong ties here as i will eventually take over the business from her. Thank you guys!

Yes, I was given the visa approval form and i have since collected my passport with the B1/B2 visa stamped in it

Why are you lying in your international passport? Where you single while doing the passport then got married after?

America don cast o. Nigerians must spoil everything. Visited the US twice before, once with family, once alone. I've never exceeded 2 weeks, i get bored with long holidays. We've never had our kids born in US even when wifey had a valid Visa while pregnant.

A friend i had been communicating with based on the 221g reschedule interview was successful in getting visa visa renewed so based on his wishes, simply posting the response he sent to me:

Hello chief,I trust you are doing ok.
I attended my interview last week and am happy to announce that I was issued a visa.

The interview went great. In a sense it felt like a new visa interview except there were questions from my last trip. Like how long I stayed, if I met family, what I did while I was there.

In the end, the VO expressed optimism that I would continue to use my visa for non-immigrant purposes like I have done in the past.
I still believe it's some sort of random sampling...lol
