Celebrities / Re: Nigerian Tax Authorities Will Not Spare Linda Ikeji Next Year - Charles Novia by cristweeezy(m): 1:56pm On Oct 17, 2015
FlirtyKaren:
Nollywood movie producer/critic Charles Novia has penned down an article in which he sarcastically says he thinks billionaire blogger Linda made a 'mistake' allowing her sister announce her N800 million naira mansion on Instagram cos the Nigerian tax authorities are not going to spare her come next year. In the same article, he talked about Linda's haters who suddenly seem to remember that she’s single whenever she displays a new acquisition.

Trust Charles to speak his mind without caring whose ox is gored when it really matters. Lol. Cynthia Morgan's recent drama with Caroline Danjuma wasn't left out too. Very interesting piece. Please read:

‘Ol’Boy, there you are! It’s been a long time I saw you in this joint. What’s been happening?’

‘Ah, My Friend! Like the Holy Book says in the Book of Lot, I have been moving up and down the earth but not with any intention to cause harm or mischief but to see beyond the veils’

‘Well , sit down and have a drink. You look harassed like Rotimi Amaechi before a hostile screening committee’

‘I can safely tell you that I am not like him. He’s a power monger, a dreg of a political dysfunction who must be in power to live; at least that’s the way I see him. In a way, his political visibility reminds me much of how our local music and Nollywood acts obnoxiously fall over themselves to be seen as relevant. We have discussed this before, haven’t we?

The below par hype, the sometimes stomach- churning instagram pictures of aging pancaked faces or the unintelligible heiroglyphics these celebrities write with; showcasing their stunted grasp of spellings and grammar while hiding under the excuses of such spellings being acceptable as social media language’

‘You have started again with these your Professorial postulations. But I feel you though on the social media hype of the artists, especially the latest one I just read about a few minutes ago about Cynthia Morgan’s stunt with a baby and Caroline Danjuma’s upbraid about it’s vulgarity’

‘Dude, leave the grammar to me please. Don’t spoil my market. As for that which you just mentioned, nothing really amazes me about how shallow we all have become in allowing ourselves to be sucked into the swirling waters of sordidness in which these two bit acts sometimes swim.

It’s just like that Skibii fellow, who I am still convinced faked his own death just to trend and ended up popping unpaid champagnes in Harrysong’s hit song. That’s how this Cynthia Morgan stunt with the baby is to me; very distasteful and lacking in decorum. Caroline did have a point though when she reacted that a vibrant child welfare agency in Nigeria should sanction Cynthia over that posture.

And Caroline reacted as a mother should; any sane mother who has given birth to kids and who love kids would react that way. It is a milk of natural pain which flows in that reaction; not the milk of a suspicious doped-up riposte which Cynthia gave. You see what I mean when I say these artistes sometimes suck us into their nefarious whims?

Because Ccaroline reacted, an uncouth Cynthia immediately found what she was looking for; an avenue to trend and a leeway to lamely explain the obtuse concept behind her smoking a ‘photoshopped’ cigar whilst holding a cigar. Of all the stupid excuses I have heard in this industry over stunts, this one comes second; after Skiibii’s ”

‘But couldn’t one argue that it’s Art? I mean, she might have a point about drawing attention to the plight of the child with that picture’
‘Rubbish! She actually has drawn more attention to puerility of her intellect and art than to any child. Pictures speak a thousand words or more and that picture was horrible, distasteful , improper, rascally, insensitive and the height of a woman’s apathy for the future of a child. That child will grow up in future seeing that cigar as a symbol of his or her existence. It is psychological.

That picture alone could make that kid a chain smoker in future; could make many lost youths who call themselves fans of Cynthia delve deeper into the negatives of smoking habits. Cynthia says she does not smoke nor drink alcohol? If she doesn’t smoke, why even hold a cigar to give that impression that you do? And with a child too! That’s not arty; that’s a bit over the bend. That young lady should not be ascribed as anyone’s role model by this act. Oh, I am angry just thinking of that picture and that kid’

‘Ol’Boy, take it easy na! You dey ‘voke’o. Haba! Let me pour you some juice to cool you down’

‘I hope it’s not German Juice!’

‘Hahahaha! You are funny. That was a joke, right?’

‘I’m as straight faced as the soon-to-be employed guards at Linda Ikeji’s new mansion at Banana Island’

‘Jeez! Did you see the pictures? Man, that babe has gone far! She makes me proud. Now, that’s a woman!’

‘She’s got the right juice to inspire the other ladies. Now, don’t start getting ideas about what I infer by the word ‘juice’, when it comes to Linda. By using the word ‘juice’ here in her case, I mean the American street slang from the nineties which means ‘courage’ or ‘guts’. So, in this case, I would say Linda has got the juice. And it’s not German by any standard, just pure Naija Igbo juice. ‘

‘Why do I think you are being funny here? Anyway, Linda has proved that there are no limits to her skies.’

‘Yeah, she’s resourceful too. I have been chuckling at those who suddenly seem to remember that she’s single whenever she displays a new acquisition. Forgive the pun but if she needed a big Banana, she sure went to the island to get one! Way to go’

‘I’m lost here. What does that mean?’

‘Nothing. But I have my reservations though, whilst congratulating her. The Tax Authorities will not spare her next year. By allowing her sister announce the house on Banana Island, the tax people will literally go Bananas and her valued assets will make the government richer next year. Not to talk of the crazy Property Tax on Banana Island properties. I used to live there you know, so I know what the koko is; and I am not talking about that limp koko; if you feel me , Nigga’

‘Hmm. One can never tell with you. Should I order your usual drink?’

‘Yes. A cold bottle of water’

Djicemob:
Am not here to bash any girl or anything but with personal experiences here and there, Inoticed my assertion above can be nothing far from truth. Some of these girls actually quantify the riches or standard of a guy with the car he drives... Or if he even has one at all. A guy with a car has half of the "toasting" job pretty much done easy for him cos of his car.

ONE OF MY MANY EXPERIENCES:
I was at a garden around my neighborhood having drinks with friends when i saw this beautiful girl walked in,i called on her in the most respectful way i can but she acted like no one was talking to her,i stood up and walked up to her trying to spark up a convo but again she snubbed me(almost giving me the "talk to the hand" thingy, while looking at me head to toe).I left her site back to a round of mockery and laughter by my tipsy friends.I took the shame thinking "what went wrong", "Am i not handsome, charming or articulate enough"?.I noticed her friends came later on and it was excitement and laughter from them, whilst occasionally pointing towards our direction and the loser(Probably me)...I don die!

To my surprise, days after,i was 'driving' out of my hood when i saw that same girl,i honked my horn and parked right beside her. Before i could whisper to myself 'pls no more embarrassment from this girl!'...she stopped and was actually looking excited, she greeted me "Good afternoon" more than twice when i pretended like i didn't hear her the first two times.More surprising was, before i could say a word she immediately asked me(with a wide grin) "am i not the guy from the other day,the guy from the garden?" And am like "yea" next thing she started apologizing like her life depended on it. Damn! Magic! I thought to myself.

Note:I got to know this girl very well afterwards, she is 20 and by all standards not a runs girl.

I probably wouldn't have gotten her attention if it wasn't for the car.Smh!

Education / Re: Top 10 Courses To Study In Nigeria by cristweeezy(m): 2:15pm On Oct 15, 2015
Naijakick:

If you wanted to be really honest with yourself, you'll accept that a particular set of courses in Nigeria are actually regarded at the best of all courses. You can't really blame them though, with the rate of unemployment in Nigeria these courses are the only professions that can lead to a student having a really good Job. Having this in mind you can see the Top 10 Courses To Study In Nigeria and give your comments below if you feel otherwise.

#1

Medicine

You're in the science stream and you reveal your choice of institution to your parents, we both know the course they'l advice you to go for MEDICINE. Advice of course for parents that listen and are understanding for other parents, they'll most likely force you till JAMB shows them you don't really like the profession. This reminds me of my highschool days , 70% of the class filled Medicine as their course of study. Chose!!!! Now most of them if not all are studying biochemistry or something related.

#2

Pharmacy

The next on the Top 10 Courses To Study In Nigeria is pharmacy . You couldn't make medicine right, go for the next thing to it "Pharmacy". The prestigious faculty of pharmacy, even more prestigious if you're a pharmacy student in OAU. In case you didn't know, OAU is actually the first university in Nigeria to have pharmacy as a faculty of it's own. So Pharmacy!! as NO 2

#3

Law

Yes! The prestigious and proud law students of Nigeria. This doesn't even require your parents, Once you're in the art class the first thing you fill in as your desired course of study is Law!!!.. I don't really blame they have the most beautiful girls. I don't know about your school but in OAU here? believe me i once went for a class very early so i could see Law chicks troop out in their black and white and their short skirts.. (Hope my mum isn't reading this lol.. mum am facing my Education ooh !!) So Law as NO 3.

#4

Electrical Electronics

Meet the king of the technology faculty, Elect Elect is actually a very cool course to study and they have the most intellectual students. I respect the students of the department but hey don't get me wrong, I'm a computer with Economics Student. Yeah that's right, I'm a double honour student, i have every reason to be proud *lol* . I just like elect cause you can really diversify. In elect i've met bad ass programmers, even more bad ass than programmers in my department. No 4 goes to Elect then

#5

Architecture

I for one am a great fan of this course. For now lets pretend the course isn't one of the most stressful courses you can ever choose to study, department is DOPE. Once you're good you're GOOD! and they're probably the students with one of the highest chances of getting a job in this country with an outrageous number of unemployed. They are still the fewest, that's why i don't still understand how they throw the best parties in OAU. NO 5 goes to archi.

#6

Computer Science & Engineering

Ok so you might feel i'm biased about putting computer here just because am a student of the AMAZING department but NO. Computer Science & Engineering is actually one of the best courses a tech student could choose to study. Let's face it, the world becoming more and more digital everyday. Gone are the days i have to use cash to buy food. Now with just a Sanwo card in ife here i can buy a lovely meal, now who do you think controls the future. so number 6 goes to the Computer students

#7

Nursing

Nursing definitely has to be on the list, without the help of the nurses where would the doctors before. If you argue otherwise, you definitely haven't experienced what happens to patients when the nurses in a hospital embark on a strike. Well i know what happens and the doctors would tell you they can't do it alone. So Nursing NO 7

#8

Mechanical Engineering

Some people would disagree on the ranking of Mech Engin on this list because Mechanical Engineering isn't just hard to get when trying to get into an institution but it is also very hard to study but the reason i kept it on NO 10 is because it isn't an independent course. How many Mechanical Engineering students have you met that finished school and they decide to Work on their own? Most if not all of them begin searching for Jobs and lets be sincere it's not easy to come across job opportunities these days. So Mechanical Engineering Wins slot NO 8

#9

Accounting

So this is like the first commercial course to make the list and No am not being Biased, in fact i felt very reluctant to add it to the list. The reason i added it is because that's the first course that comes to commercial students minds when it's time to pack their things to the Higher Institution. Before accounting students stone me to death, ask yourselves this question how many of you can be self established successfully without a great amount Capital.

#10

Agriculture

The last on the list is the whole faculty of agric. The reason agric is on No 10 is because of the ease with which students can get into the faculty. Soil Science, Animal Science, Agric Econs but when you look at it from the productive aspect of it and the self Establishment capabilities, agric is really an amazing course to study. There you have it, Nigeria's top 10 courses. If you feel otherwise about the other of the ranking , You can drop your thought in the comment section.
