I almost fell for this recently. I was not familiar with the place as it was my first time in that area. The police were not too far and I was almost entering and I was not sure of the direction to take. There were just there staring at me from afar ( perhaps waiting for me to enter ). It was a kind passerby that stopped me and warned me that I was about entering one way. The person later went ahead to give me the correct direction. I could see the disappointment on the faces of the policemen as I reversed. We may not be far from the truth when we say that these police officers remove the one way sign.

Am really at loss why state universities joined this ASUU strike. The a annoying thing thing is that if the federal government finally gives in to their demand, the state schools wouldn't benefit at all. Kudos to LASU and any other state school that did not join....

Travel / Re: Man Attempting To Cross Into Italy By Sea From Libya Changes His Mind (Video) by crusufixo(m): 6:13am On Sep 03, 2022
UselessBuharist:

I’ll just make it brief, I was in my early 20’s, my friends talked me into the journey but I didn’t know they were not travelling with us until the day we left Nigeria.

I didn’t have much information about the journey but because they told me it’s easy and fun I left Nigeria with them.

We were first held by rebels in the desert for 28 days, mind you I left Nigeria Feb 3rd 2009 and I got to Libya in March.

The owner of the uncomplicated building we were living brought the police to arrest us 4 days after I got to the house, some guys were arrested but i and some other guys escaped, we ran into the cemetery and slept there till 6AM.

I found a Nigerian who offered to allow me stay in his house, few days later I told him that I got a connection to cross to Italy and I will be living the following day.

The following morning this guy left the house and locked everyone inside, he returned in the evening with 3 guys, a Ghanian and 2 Nigerians. The moment he entered the house he pointed at me saying this is the boy before I knew what was happening they stated beating me asking me to follow them. I resisted and fought back, the landlord heard the noice, he came knocking so the guys quickly ran away.

The following morning this guy asked me to pay him $300 before he will allow me leave, I said you should have said that instead of bringing people to beat me up. Then I gave him the money and left his house to the camp from where we were to be taken to the sea side.

The same night we were taken to the sea side, when we got there we were ask to sit on the floor and not make noice, about 3 minutes later a small balloon boat came and was taking us 30/30 to the big boat, I was on the 3rd batch, few minutes after I entered the big boat, we saw boats coming towards our direction behold they were coast patrol.

The person that was to sail our boat told everyone that we will all die instead of him to allow the police arrest him then he zoomed off, the police chased our boat till they caught us when we were almost out of Libya territory.

We were arrested and taken to prison on Sunday and we broke the prison on Tuesday and escaped. We were chased all night……. Na long story bro I hope I get to document all that happened on that trip one day. I lost my left eye as a result of the beating I got from the guys that were invited to beat me.

The part of your story the marveled me was that a fellow Nigerian betrayed you. It's really sad. Truth be told, if I see another Nigerian outside the shores of Nigeria, my very first reaction would be mistrust cos we Nigerians are capable of anything. If we can be wicked to ourselves in Nigeria, then you can only imagine what we can do to ourselves outside of Nigeria. Dont get me wrong, am not saying that there are still no kind hearted Nigerians out there, am just saying what my initial reaction would be if I encounter another Nigerian in another country. All the same, am thankful for you that you survived such ordeal and that you are good now.

Haaland is good, but I think he just has a good ball positioning. His goals are not spectacular for him. Don't compare him with the two Legends yet. He's still got a long way to go

May you live long my brother. I said this same thing too to my colleagues, but they kept saying something else. In my opinion, Halaand is like Rud Van Nistelrooy...no skill, not incredibly fast, but has box positioning and physique

Iran also has nuclear weapons. Israel should tread with caution.

And you think that isreal dont have their own nuclear capabilities too ? the isreali armed forces are about the most conservative in the world, but if provoked, can run rampage and riot over the adversary. The fact that they dont talk about nuclear weapons does not mean that they dont have. In the real sense of it, its Iran that should tread with caution cos Israel no go send anybody if anyone provoke cos they can go to the extreme to make their opposition suffer. History does not lie !!!

My goodness, what da heck. ASUU still in strike, now this, then what next ?. And yet people are still thinking of bringing back this group of people that have failed the country. In my opinion, any youth that is rooting for APC should have his or her head checked.

Education / Re: What Strike? LASU Says Not All State Universities Are On Strike by crusufixo(m): 6:16am On Aug 15, 2022
It's not only LASU that did not join, some other state schools did not join too. That's quite commendable, cos at the end of it all, if the Fed. Govt finally yields to ASUU's demand, the state universities would not benefit at all.

Travel / Re: Angry Man Caught On Camera Dislodging Road Bumps (Video/Photos) by crusufixo(m): 8:19am On Aug 10, 2022
I agree with this man. But I however disagree with the way he went about it. From the looks of this video, that seems to be an inner steet road. Now , a normal driver should know that he should drive between 20 - 25km/h in an inner street cos kids usually play either football or ride their bikes on the street. Its unavoidable cos kids would always be kids. But then, you would see some abnormal and G*d for***en drivers doing up to 50km/h on these inner Streets. Hence, the residents are forced to put up these bumps. But the unfortunate thing is that these bumps are not done properly. Some of the bumps are even hard to pass. Like one of the speakers mentioned, there should be a significant amount of slope on either side of the speed bump to allow for easy passing at low speed.

Travel / Re: Man Praises Hope Uzodinma Over Road: "If You Wan Build Road, Build Better Road". by crusufixo(m): 3:28pm On Jul 27, 2022
In as much he should be commended for this Road...hope ozodinma is still a very ....very long way from been called a good governor. I was in Imo state last year ....and what I saw when I went round the state, especially the state capital Owerri, was pitable and agonizing. There is absolutely nothing to show that the state is moving forward....rather, it's just stagnant. So many bad roads, terrible health service, no infrastructure. What baffles me the most is that the deputy Governor is a well know professor. Yes, he did this road, but for the love of G*d, it's his f**king job. Imo state has the potential of being at the level where Lagos is, but the state has been plagued with bad governors.the sooner the people of imo state open their eyes and act like the people of Osun did, the better.
