RomanceRe: Guys, How Much Money Have You Saved, Living A Single Life? by CsRockefeller(m): 9:12am On Mar 20, 2020
henryobinna:
well, the poor man wants to be respected too like other men grin grin, his ego tells him he's the man of the house so deserves respect. The woman on the other hand feels she is footing the bill hence deserves the role and respect of the man in the house.

That is the issue.

Personally, I see marrying a woman because she can help financially as a very bad reason to marry. Whether you're rich or poor. Marrying her because you feel she'll help you bear the burden is the wrongest move, it'll always come back to haunt you; Majority of the time, it does.

Whether you're rich or not, whether she's a single mum or not.
You're wrong because that's the whole essence of creating the female, to help.

Na wa o.

I have been following TB, stocks and co since I was in secondary school. I have been seeing juicy rates as people cooly cash out.

Just when it's time for me to join the band wagon, BOOM!! Everything goes down like being on space when gravity suddenly appears.

..so that what will happen exactly?
If I av #100,,,my husband should av #1000....though not a must... But I think Is ideal...
You might earn better than him but as the journey continues, he might earn far better than you do.

No matter who earns more if there's love and respect it wouldn't be a problem because the family's welfare is the ultimate objective, don't also forget, 2 are now 1. wink

Money can really change the equation. When my sister was earning 50k she was yearning for marriage, now that she is earning ×6, marriage no too dey her mind.

If that guy that is about to get married on 40k suddenly starts earning 200k, he would likely call off the wedding.

This is what in Economics we call Giffen or Veblen effect. Higher income changes taste.

Exceptions do exist.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Writers Needed 10,000 Words Of Bed Time Story Book by CsRockefeller(m): 7:46pm On Mar 19, 2020
Sincerely, writers sell themselves short here in Nigeria and do not take advantage of the limitless opportunity that is abound...

I don't write full time because of the nature of my job but if I could, I won't settle for less.

You want to give out your intellectual property for N1 per word? Unbelievable!!! Do you know that you can make more off publishing it yourself?

I've turned down few offers here on Nairaland because the pay is not commensurate.

Recently, I decided to delve in spoken word, by the time I am through with my learning, I will be charging nothing less than 5k for few minutes presentation.

Writer's, please know your worth. Your skill is very scarce and still in demand.

You just have to face facts, being a single mother/father comes with a lot of consequences. Most people would not want to get involved with them.

I remember meeting an OAP when I was single, he was a local celebrity and was all over me. I was even catching feelings and falling for his moves already. He would play me love songs in his morning shows and do 'shout out' to me all day. It was wonderful . . . until I found out he had an 8-YO daughter.

You see I didn't see myself becoming a mother to an 8YO that wasn't mine. I just couldn't.

You can't judge people for the choices they make and the actions they take. That's why when you make a decision, you need to be ready to face the consequences.
Alright.

I think the evolution of The Walking Dead is good to keep the series going, however, I think it's time to end it. They have found the solution to zoombies and the problem now is human or kingdom survival.
Sincerely, you guys that keep up at series that tend to stretch for seasons like W.D and Grey's Anatomy are really trying.

I'm in W.D season 1 since last year, Grey's Anatomy S3 since 2 years ago and I wonder if I would ever catch up.

I know you will follow the normal cliché and use money as an obstacle.

You did masters which I know that you spent more than #300 000 atleast but can't raise at least #10 000 to start hand sanitizer business.

The containers are about #200 each. The chemicals can be sourced with #5000 or less. I assure you that your fortunes will change.

It seems paid employment is a cage whereby employers keep people from achieving their dreams.

Break free from those shackles and write your name in the annals of fame and affluence.

You need to take a break from Nairaland and fix yourself ASAP.

You are not getting any younger and men these days need women who can support them financially and intellectually.

A lot of Nigerians are dumb and too stupid for my liking.

When a person makes a post like this, the first thing they seek is comfort. They need a hand over their shoulders first. You don't just tell someone that they are wallowing in self pity and co, gosh I'm angry.

Even Christians, do you think we are called Humans for jokes?

Jesus wept when they told him his friend Lazarus was dead, he had to power to bring him back, yet he wept.

If you don't have meaningful things to say on this platform please get the Bleep out of here!!!

No different from the disciples that tried to prevent the little children from seeing Jesus and trying to send the hungry 5000 men away.

Always trying to suppress people's pains, terrible people forming woke.

Read this over and over.

I very much believe in the spiritual sha.

Pray very well to know if your parents don't have a covenant with a family idol. When people do not fulfill their promises to these idols, it backfires except he/she is a strong believer.

You might be reaching out of your league which is a recipe for heartbreak.
You people are wicked. How can someone who just want a man to be happy with be reaching out of her league?

Chisos!! What type of world are we in? Is being a single mum a punishment or a disease?

Let me talk any further. You guys here make me weak everytime.

Sorry for the harsh words but apart from family curses, you singlehandedly took decision that ruined your life. Even if you had no job, hustling & taking care of yourself would have been easier without having an extra mouth to feed. Even people with no children are struggling, Nigeria is hard. No sugar coating it, curses or not.

Falling in love is a sham in Nigeria in both ways, that's why women need to be financially stable before having babies. All this my husband says he will take care of me bullshit doesn't fly when he leaves you & abscond.

Your biggest problem right now is, you have no source of income. Tell people your biggest skills or strength, so you can get a job & some support if you declare what makes you useful as a person instead of just being depressed.

If you want to start a business, write a business plan, I want to do XYZ. Then I need 123 Amount, at least people on Nairaland can help you, that is If you aren't a scammer.
You talk too much and didn't make sense.

You also lack empathy.

ICAN is an overrated institute in Nigeria! It is one of useless institute in Nigeria. The glory of ICAN has gone not like back in the days when u finish ICAN they are thousands of jobs waiting... Don't just waste ur time there. They are thousands of chartered Accountant who are looking for jobs the one that manage to see the job are earning below 70 to 99k after sleepless night and days
If I was a military dictator, I would obliterate ICAN and ban the practice of Accounting in Nigeria.

I might even kill all past and current ICAN president's.

ICAN is a cult group and a blood sucking institution.

Jobs/VacanciesRe: What Is The Hope Of A Graduate Above 30? by CsRockefeller(m):
Realistically, your chances are very slim. It's not your fault though. The Universities have limited spaces, jamb registers about a million each year, half of that barely makes it in.

If you are from a family that relies on minimum wage, or a struggling biz, you can't get into private universities.

So by the time to manage to cross that finish line you are in a new generation with a new trend. The new trend of graduate trainee and internship with a ceiling of 26 years for most.

Lest we talk about the poor remuneration if you are fortunate to even get a job.

No startup from the Government, NYSC doesn't add any value, no savings, no help. It can be frustrating.

At 30, you have already lived half of the life expectancy for a Nigerian.

It's a tough one Bro, failure of leadership is the reason for this. Nigeria has so much regressed.

Your solution: Grace. I know people will say those clichés "learn a skill" "start a biz" don't be deceived, I know people without skills doing fine, I also know people who work for others and earn very well.

While you need to put yourself out there, you need Grace more than anything.

His composure, speech and acting is one of the best I've seen a villian character display.

@ Ladylite

You're the only female/Lady I admire on this platform. You speak so sensibly, with so much wisdom.

You are rational and devoid with the emotional plague that seems to have befallen your gender.

You remind me of the Michelle Obama's, the Hillary Clinton's of this world. You are a great asset to have.

I wish many more ladies can be like you.

I am not even aggressive, I am just telling you my real mind

I am a realist, i cant date a broke man, i have my money and my own life.

I cant move from my apartment to go struggle with a man in a single room, it is hard for me at this stage.

To be fair, it will be a life of resenting him.
I do not wish bad for you but don't be surprised if Life humbles you.

I'm just smiling here, you haven't seen anything.

Your despise for broke people makes you a big target for penury.

My sister, life has humbled people far greater, you have no idea of the planet you are in.

Don't set a trap for yourself.
