OPCNAIRALAND: Let me quickly clear the air before chest beaters start to make noise.
Azikiwe was not truthful in his recollection of archived African history. The truth is wars and territorial confrontations and rivalry for dominance in Africa is fought amongst giants....no Empire pay any mind to small and defenseless people like Ibos. What are you going to gain by fighting Ibo? It is a downgrade for a big and respectful Empire to go and bully a small village of yam farmers.
Read the history of conquest in Africa and you will see that Oyo only warred against mighty conquerors....Songhai, Ashanti, Dahomey, Fulani, Nupe.
Fulani warred Kanuri, Hausa, Nupe, Oyo.
Kanuri warred Fulani, Bachama, Darfur
Bariba warred Dahomey, Fulani.
Nupe warred Oyo, Fulani.
So who get time for some small inconsequential collection of villages who compete amongst themselves in wrestle bouts and the winner is declared the village hero.....when in Oyo, their heroes are on horseback galloping into enemy territory to go enslave the men and chop the women poussy for spoil? There was nothing empiric about oyo. It was more or less a kingdom of indigenous people Inferior to the benin kingdom. The only time the Oyo kingdom attempted expansionism across benin republic, it was given a total humiliation by women from dahomey. Igbos on the other hand just like the ancient greeks before persian invasion did not see the need for an empire. There were no group of people strong and organized enough in west africa to actually pose any existensial threat to the igbo people to necessitate the creation of an igbo empire. The greeks too who were more or less independent city states similiar to the igbo nation, would not have created any empire but for the threat of persian invasion. And when the greeks did, they sowed the seed of a mighty empire that would rise to its glorious peak through alexander the great. |

exxell: These pics brought tears to my eyes. It convinced me that God created the whites and Satan created the blacks! God never planned to create me a black man but an American or European. But Satan in his mischievous nature turned my direction while I was heading to my mothers womb. Attached are two pictures that sane people should weep about.
In the background of the first pix, you can see mansions built and lived in by Africans. Thats actually Lekki in Lagos. Am currently here in Lekki. All these mansions costing millions of dollars to build and yet to tar and maintain a decent good road is hard for us! Of course the government should do it! As if world governments are thrown down from heaven and not selected from among the human beings there. In this part of the world, we see our leaders as celebrities and demi gods without even knowing that they too can die! Meaning that they are human after all!
In the second pix, you can see an average neighborhood in America. No houses built with stolen millions. But just look at the neighborhood. Can't you just imagine sleeping there.... Just on the main road! I dont mind oo. From my location in Lagos, I can actually feel the serenity, divinity and coolness of this environment. Imagine writing a movie, reading a novel or carrying out a research in this serene environment. Wont you fell blessed?
Am a black man... But I SPIT ON THE BLACK RACE! Quit all these black is beautiful nonsense. Atimes I feel we are mentally retarded and lack the capacity to be in existence. Just drive around Lagos tomorrow... You will see a lot of wicked souls walking around in human form. No compassion or human sympathy whatsoever. Ready to burn a fellow man with tires just because he stole 500 hundred naira. But willing to lie down and hail a criminal politician who is no more human than his own human nature!
Last time I was at Mbuka Obosi in Onitsha. I parked my father's car to go and buy some spare parts. On coming back, One full tire and the CD loader is gone! Just like that! Nd you say that we are human beings?
Personally, I dont believe that what hampers African growth is bad leadership. What actually hampers us is because we have a lot of malignant, evil, devilish, pugnacious and criminal minded people walking around as human beings. And the most hurtful part is that they are actually bigger in number than the good ones.
If you go to America or European countries, you will actually come to agree with me that why those peeps move forward is because they have a lot of good people abounding there. Human beings with conscience and a sense of morality. People who know that when you are selected to lead, it doesnt mean that you are higher or better than those who selected you. But that you are just selected to be accountable for their well being. Thats all.
NONSENSE! You are an idiott. Creating moronnic threads and giving opportunity to nitwits to express their cowardly and sick opinions on cyberspace. |

The highest FDI reciepent in africa second only to china globally due to consistent economic reforms. One would expect that buhari, basking under the euphoria of free elections would leverage on that, bring his economic blue-print to bear as soon as possible, and appoint his chosen technocrats who will continue the process of aggressive wooing of investors that jonathan started with the triple combo of aganga, okonjo iweala, and adeshina. The international good-will has filtered away. Foreign investment in Nigeria has dropped by a whooping 54%, a large part of it is due to the sluggishness of govt. Ethiopia now is the largest recipient of Foreign investments in africa. |

UAE123: Airing anything to me is a waste of state resources. If Rivers state government has any evidence againstAmeachi then they should present it to EFCC so that he Ameachi can be charged to court, properly tried & jailed if found to have committed any offence. And who told you they have not presented it to EFCC? EFCC already have evidence against amaechi. But then,if you expect the EFCC to arrest amaechi without serious political pressure ,then you must be naive. Amaechi singlehandly bankrolled the emergence of their boss, buhari. That is serious leverage. |

Obiagelli: Now you see the essence of this Sacarsm, why only ogbonnaya Onu, I thought Amaechi and Fashola were in the running for that position too, have you heard their people wail so far?
It's really shameful, If I say more than this you guys will probably label me as drunken has done already. I am really disappointed that you would create a thread like this. And for what? Buhari? A president that doesn't care about what anybody thinks of him anyway. Btw, your arguments are faulty. Ogbonnaya onu is just a symptom of the anti-eastern bias of buhari. The SW and SS already have important appointees in the buhari govt. The SE does not and doesn't look like its happening any time soon. If you can see that, then it is indeed sad. |

Politics › Re: Why Are The Igbos Still Angry At Other Tribes Because Jonathan Lost? by CSTR2: 11:11am On Sep 03, 2015 |
QuotaSystem: Unfortunately that might be politically suicidal and we don't play myopic politics in the North. Do you realize that move will open up the North Central and divide the NW because the chances of that region (which includes Kano) voting for an SE candidate is near nil - remember the card reader is in operation and if there is any rigging at all, it will be in favour of the NW that control INEC and are a main power bloc in the APC.
Maybe your hypothesis could work in 2023, but it's not likely to in 2019 based on current trends and sentiments. Bullshitt. The north central and kano will vote for the SE if they feel their bread is buttered. There are no permanent friends in politics. And the fact that igbos are more spread in the north than any other southern group will play a big role. Saraki is from the north central. He had to go with ekweremadu to maximize success and they won. |
Politics › Re: Why Are The Igbos Still Angry At Other Tribes Because Jonathan Lost? by CSTR2: 10:23am On Sep 03, 2015 |
QuotaSystem: You have a good argument, but not totally convincing. The truth is the PDP will most likely go for a NW/Akpabio option if you observe the trends. The latter seems an intelligent politician though his past ties to Patience Jonathan and her husband might do him in. Forget the PDP. The PDP will always regard the SS/SE as its stronghold in the south and it will reflect in their appointments. The APC is what i am talking about. The northern dominated APC will not hesitate to dump tinubu and all his southwestern lackeys if they can get the SE/SS. |

Politics › Re: Why Are The Igbos Still Angry At Other Tribes Because Jonathan Lost? by CSTR2: 10:08am On Sep 03, 2015 |
QuotaSystem: Really? OBJ doesn't think so, the SW dominated the first half of this republic so far.
As for the North, the antics of the SE in the last elections will discourage any party from fielding an Igbo candidate because northerners will simply abandon the party for any party that presents a North/SW/SS collabo. This is the sentiment on the ground. The only person that might be able to break the jinx could be Rochas who is well loved and even has a chieftancy title from my place in the North. Obj was not a southwestern candidate. He won without their votes. He was a thorn to tinubu and most ACN stalwarts till today. And yes, his govt was dominated by the east. The east may not have produced a presidential candidates, but the various administartions have been dominated by igbo technocrats. As for the north, they know where they bread is most buttered all through the decades. They see tinubu as an over-reaching fool and they just tolerate him for the sake of their interest and the fact that he is more or less their only friend in the south . The moment the north get a viable option in the south, they would dump tinubu like a hot potato. The saraki/ekweremadu emergence is a proof of that. Who in his right mind will go for the SW bloc, when you can get the SE/SS and the perks that come with it.. |
Politics › Re: Why Are The Igbos Still Angry At Other Tribes Because Jonathan Lost? by CSTR2: 9:55am On Sep 03, 2015 |
The only reason why the SW is looking like a political gladiator of recent is because the SE has left a vacuum. These incessant provocations will ensure a reaction from the east very soon, even if it means swallowing our vomit. |
