RomanceRe: Ladies : Will You Date Or Marry A Man Who Earns Less Than You? by Cuddlemii: 7:52am On Sep 13, 2012
I don't think anyone has to know if a woman earns more than her bf or hubby.
Women should learn to look, listen and learn most times rather than opening their mouth at every given opportunity.
When you meet a guy or you are dating a guy, what's the relevance of discussing your salary with him and informing him that you earn more or not?
Can't you keep that information to yourself?
That is why girls get scammed and duped because they make their possessions known.

Any guy that is adamant about knowing how much you earn/own or makes it his priority to know your financial worth is an irresponsible man, he should focus on getting to know your xter/attitude first.
A woman ought to be modest and keep certain things private, her man would respect her confidentiality.
The moment you tell your bf you earn more, the next thing is to tell your friends, his friends, then his family and your family and that is how wahala starts as the man would start having a complex, then pride sets & intruders crawl in.

As per question, I think it depends on what he is substituting the lesser funds with-
intelligence, Love, commitment, respect, care, trust, consistency, potentials, hard work, drive, happiness and peace of mind.
If he's got none of these things I listed above, then whats the point?

God bless you for the Ini Edo comment. I thought I was the only one that felt that way. Every time, I make that statement people never agree. I mean I will prefer simplicity over being over dressed/accessorized anytime, anyday. That's why Genevieve does it for me 99% of the time. Genevieve can carry a simple tshirt and jeans with all eloquence and class.

I dnt agree with u on the funke part because I like her, she looks stressed and worn out here though. In her recent movies, she dresses better than some cheap english artist plus her accent & english is good.

I didn't sticky it. I will look into it.

Right now, I am working on other developments of the section & requirements suggested by other users before now. Thank you very much for you suggestion so far and please in the nearest future, use the complaints thread.

Thanks!
LiteratureRe: Literature/Writing Section's "Chat Central!" by Cuddlemii(op):
maclatunji: Hello! I think this thread should be stickied. I had to fish-it-out. I do really think that we shouldn't expect Literature section to match the likes of Politics and Romance on Nairaland. However, I think an easy way to attract more traffic is to expose the "hidden talents" present here. This is something I know our moderator has been working hard on. However, I would also like to suggest that she visits other sections and demand that threads that are more literary in nature be moved here. There have been a few over the years that have been posted in Romance in particular and to a lesser extent Family section.

Such threads can attract more people here and inspire a new generation or wave of writers and/or Poets.
Noted!

The chat thread wasn't stickied because people hardly use it. I practically beg members to make use of it.

How many threads do you want stickied up there? We have the complaints thread, guidelines, rules and regulations and now this?

I left room for other threads up there, for the sake of togetherness, lolz!

As per your suggestion, I replied you on the mods board. Thanks! smiley

Each set of words is a jumbled sentence with one extra word.
The sentences make up a letter of complaint. Rearrange each set of words to form a sentence, adding any punctuation necessary.
In each sentence there is an unused word. Identify each of the unused words.

Noted!

You know rudeness doesn't get you you anywhere.

If you observe an error make it known constructively.

Now that you've corrected it yourself, has it not contributed to the learning process?

Some members have learnt the difference between "was" and "were", through your observation and that is commendable.

No one is above mistake, next time, I will look closely for errors like this.

DailyNews: Didn't get you ma'am...
Here is what I wrote before:

I will like to give my honest opinion.

I hardly see write-ups/contributions from members of this association on this section except for the activities in your group (YAN).

I always observe Dailynews giving his bag of wisdom to other sections without improving the one where he formed an association.

A lot of members are watching, there is no proof that you are all writers as we haven't seen any write-ups from any member apart from Pearl~hapi.

Ideally, majority of the members of this section are meant to be members of your group but you people put up a fence, barricade your group and don't carry anyone along or even mix up with the other skillful writers that we have.

Remember, you all met here and started this wonderful journey on here as such you should give back to our little community. Thank you!

sholay2011: Hello. I've been an ardent fan of Yoruba literature but I rarely see people talking about it here (even though we have Yorubas on this forum). I feel Yoruba literature kind of connects one to his or her roots and have better storylines than many nollywood movies (both English and Yoruba). I can't forget books like 'Koseegbe', 'Ogbon ologbon', 'Ojo buruku esu gbomi mu' and my favourite- 'Agbako nile tete'. If I could lay my hands on any of these books, i don't mind reading them again. Please, does anyone in the house read Yoruba books? If yes, what's ur favourite?
I loved the yoruba book, "Abe abo" in secondary school.

I love everything Yoruba though!
