Four persons were feared dead yesterday when the Lagos State Task Force on Land Grabbers led by the police stormed Act of Apostle Church in Makoko, Ebute Metta Yaba over land dispute.

According to the Nation news, they allegedly broke down the fence of the church and set it's hall ablaze. They were said to have shot sporadically, leaving many injured. Four of the injured were said to have died at press time.

Some residents blamed the task force, the hoodlums and the police for all the damage.

Mr Kolawole Iwalokun who got shot during the fight later died where he was receiving treatment and his body was brought back to the church.

Narrating what happened, an Executive in the church, Bamidele Ogunmayi, said a land issue led to the crisis.

“The police have done badly, they have supported area boys, killed four of our people, about 20 of our youths are injured with gunshots, and they are receiving treatment. They have burnt our church, broken our fence. We do not know the interest of the police in land matters. They have impinged on our fundamental right; they also arrested some of our youths.

“The police were about 50, the land grabbers and hoodlums were about 30 and were in the task force uniform. The police broke our fence, when the youths wanted to ask them what the matter was, they started shooting. We want justice against the people that violated our human right,” Ogunmayi said.

According to a Twitter user identified as Farida Nabourema, Four men who protested the pollution of Gunjur sea by a Chinese fish meal company were arrested by the Gambian police.

She tweeted;
"Police arrested these four young men in the #Gambia after one of them delivered a speech protesting against the pollution of the ocean by a Chinese company. Such injustices are caused by systems that take more than the downfall of a dictator to fix."

She also revealed that the Chinese company, Golden Lead reinstalled their waste pumps and put up their flag after the pumps were removed by youths of the community.

5 girls, who are made to smoke shisha to entertain their stepfather's guests after which they are raped, have been rescued in Adamawa state, Nigeria.

The girls, aged between 5 and 9 years, were discovered after a video of a child expertly smoking shisha and puffing out smoke like a pro went viral. The video generated massive outrage and an investigation was carried out .

The investigation did not lead to the girl in the video, but helped discover other underaged girls going through similar things. The private parts of the girls showed signs of sexual penetration. One of the girls was being raped at the time they were found.

They have been rescued and have been moved to a rehabilitation facility while the search for the girl in the viral video continues.

A Uniben student has shared a photo of their examination question paper and "shaku shaku", "science student", and "I like your waist in particular" were included in the questions.

The examination question set for students in the department of English and Literature in University of Benin had a question that goes;
"Explain "shaku shaku," science students, and "I like your waist in particular" as products of a society that is highly influenced by popular culture and dance."

The question carries 10 marks and was given to second-year students of the department. A student of the school identified as Gift Biokoro took to Facebook to reveal that there were more unusual questions asides the one going viral.

Gift Biokoro wrote;
"There is nothing you will not see in uniben today's exam was all about shaku-shaku, science student and I love your waist in particular.... And for movies we have jennifas diary, died wretched and tongues of fire....."

9 Today in NNEWI where I come from it is difficult for you to get a young boy to learn a trade for say 5,6,7 years before they are established. They prefer Okada business, yahoo yahoo, begging etc.

10 There are so many fake Proprietors of universities and Polytechnics in NIGERIA that are only interested in money and nothing else. They go to JAMB and bribe them to send these 10th rate poor students to them. They push and push them until they graduate and the vicious cycle continues. We have close to 200 Higher Institutions but how many of them are real higher institutions.

I am passionate about getting our Country to work again and that is the reason why I am challenging the young people of Nigeria. My father abused us for laziness and untoward behaviors to make us strong and dedicated. Our teachers in those days abused, flogged and and gave us pits to dig for failing to do our assignments. I know a father who went to pick his son in Navy school Abeokuta for holidays. When he got there and was told that the boy failed his exams the man turned his car and left for LAGOS without the boy. He did not return to pick that boy until after one week. It became a turning point in the life of that boy."

A Delta-based Nigerian Disk Jockey identified as Ugwumgbor Emmanuel and popularly known as DJ Bullet has been reported dead.

According to on reports, the Delta-based DJ was electrocuted, last night, in Jesse town. He was said to be addressing an electrical fault without wearing hand gloves when power was suddenly restored and killed him.

A Nigerian lady identified as Samaria Diala, took to Facebook to expose a man who tried to scam her with stories of losing his wife in an accident and his fake 8-year-old daughter in Enugu.

Samaria revealed that the man identified as Kingsley Obinna on Facebook got busted after he tried to defraud her with an accident drama, after they agreed to meet on a date in Enugu.

so he needed money to pay the doctor as deposit before he would be allowed to continue with his trip .

As the doctor assured him the victim will survive so far he deposits 75k . He later Called me with the request I make the transfer as he isn’t allowed to leave the station . Well I knew he was a scam from when he gave an old woman the phone to speak with me.

A lady who goes by the name Kawaii Child on instagram took to her IG page on March 16th to post a photo of the dead baby boy she gave birth to.

She said the baby died in her tummy two days before she was due to give birth. She said she suddenly felt no movement inside her on that day and was feeling very different and rushed herself to the hospital where she was induced and she gave birth to a baby boy who was already dead.

She later explained that he died because his intestines were born on the outside of his body.

Many sympathised with the bereaved mother and sent condolence messages to her on her page while others were uncomfortable with the fact that she posted his dead photos on IG.

People became more agitated when she posted another photo of the dead child a few hours later, asking for money on GoFundMe, for expenses and funeral expenses for the child.

The abductors of a traditional ruler, Goodluck Umetor, in Ndele community, in Emohua LGA of Rivers State, have released him after inflicting machete cuts on him and collecting N1m ransom

He was freed in the early hours of Wednesday. Chief Umetor was whisked away by the hoodlums at gun-point to an unknown destination, on Monday evening, just after the bandits had killed two persons in the community.

Umetor said the kidnappers used machete to cut all part of his body, adding that the criminals also took his ATM cards and withdrew huge sums of money.
He said;
“The gunmen took me on a journey inside a deep forest. They blindfolded and dragged me.

We trekked about 60 kilometers before we arrived their base. They said they were hired to assassinate me, but, later, they changed their mind to collect ransom and free me. They inflicted marchete cuts on my head, back and other parts of my body.

They collected all my four ATM cards and sent somebody to go and withdraw money from my account before collecting N1 million again from my family. They warned me that I should not block the accounts that they will be withdrawing money at will.

They said if I block the accounts that they will come after me again. They also threatened to kill me if I try to give their identity to anyone.”

However, the state’s Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Nnamdi Omoni, said that the identity of the hoodlums involved in the kidnap have been uncovered.

Late Stephanie Esievo's sister has debunked reports circulating online about circumstances surrounding her death.

According to the deceased's friend, Aigbedion Derrick, Stephanie's leg began to swell after she had quarrelled with a lady from Edo State.

Taking to Facebook yesterday, Tracy Esievo revealed that her sister has been battling with an illness since January.

She wrote;

A quite tragic news reaching us this hour is that of a beautiful young lady who lost her life recently in a car accident in the Federal Capital Territory.

Ijeoma Okafor left friends and family in a mourning state after she was involved in a car accident yesterday, 5th of April, 2018, that claimed her life along Kubuwa express road in Abuja.

A student of Mass Communications from Osisatech Polytechnic in Enugu, Ijeoma had just graduated from the school last year December, and had relocated to Abuja to meet with her parents when she was hit this tragedy.

According to a friend of Ijeoma, she was such a comical character and was full of life as she was known famously for her signature "one corner dance"

A high spirited personality who will surely be missed by her peers and family.

May her soul rest in peace.

A Nigerian lady and a mother of one took to her Facebook page to narrate how she found a homeless body at upper iweka, Onitsha where she went to deliver her products to her customers.

According to Chizoba, she saw the boy who was later identified as Chiagozie from Azia Ihiala lying helplessly by the road side in upper iweka. She tried to get from information from him which could help her in locating his family by to no avail, which makes her to take the boy to the hospital.

According to reports, tests shows he has severe malaria and typhoid after he has been placed on medication at Toronto Hospital in Onitsha. After little recovery, the boy could give brief information about himself. He was identified as Chiagozie from Azia Umuoma.

Another lady identified as Precious also claimed to have come across the helpless boy and has taken him to police station hope that the police will be able to help the boy, but it is a surprise to her that they abandon him.
