When are the powers that be going to realize that the currently highly centralized police force has failed? While we are it, isn’t it also time we realized that the current restrictions on firearms in this country only helps perpetuate the tyranny of both the uniformed thugs and outlaws? As it stands, criminals get the weapons, while law abiding citizens are left with only prayers. Since, it’s now apparent that the state has failed in yet another area of monopoly, isn’t it time for some needed privatization? Isn’t time to allow an armed citizenry? 7 Likes |

Apeeshit is The Devil’s Own Party. John 8:44 New International Version (NIV) 44 You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies. 5 Likes 1 Share |

By the time it took him to pen this convoluted pile of horse manure, the nomadic wing of Mumuharri’s Apeeshit would have wiped out another village in Mr Ameh’s home state. |

pazienza: That's the conumdrum. The states are not designed to actually work in any reasonable way. Additionally, most states inherited very a large (mostly unproductive) legacy workforce. On the other hand, it's politically suicidal to just sack most of the workers, on the other, paying wages with almost all the FAAC allocation leaves little for any of the showy projects ignorant voters call development. Governors are left with little choice but to borrow so they can be said to be "performing". Recall that Peter Obi was not universally popular with his fiscally prodent approach. 1 Like |

xcrew20: When we had the Ipob crises, Ohaneze set up some Igboland Development group. Who knows what has become of it? Do they have even a website? I think a lot of normally intelligent people are taking an alarmingly casual attitude to the unfolding disaster called Nigeria. The population is due to double again with the next 30 years. Apart from the fact that most our inland oil fields are depleting very quickly, oil is fast losing its global primacy as an energy source. You only need to imagine the effects of this on government revenue. I don’t even want to talk about the fact that the current regime is borrowing like there is no tomorrow and spending all the money on daft politically motivated projects. Climate change and associated desertification are having an increasingly calamitous effect on food production as well as an increase in strife not just in the NC but increasingly down south. Frankly, I expect massive population movements southwards. The fact that upwards of 90% of the population in some of these places are involved in agriculture should give any rational observer food for thought. The day of reckoning is very, very near. I was thinking of these things today and I got very, very scared. You don’t need to be a soothsayer to know who the likely scapegoats will be as things get even more desperate in the country. We need to build a proper economy in our homeland. We need to look at our peers in places like SE Asia. We should copy, borrow and if necessary steal ideas, technologies and markets from these people. We need a healthy, educated populace. We need infrastructure. Our very survival as a people is at stake. Mere shaming people to invest backhome isn’t going to work. We need a world class business environment. The issue is very urgent and cannot wait. 3 Likes |

horsepower101: Since they're chameleons, when they finish changing to Igbo, they should let us know. Right now they're Bini and a random FB post isn't going to change it. Fool me once. I hate this talk of building bridges and uniting. How were the Ikwere treated differently from any other Igbo tribe prior to the war? We haven't needed them for the past 50 years and we survived, I don't think we are going to start needing them now especially when thay don't bring much to the table. We should allow them settle issues with their Ijaw brothers and mind our own business. 4 Likes |

Kokolet11: You should tell that drunk that pretends he’s your father to “shut up”. If he had spent more time on your upbringing rather than staggering from one joint to another begging for free ogogoro, you would have learnt not to insult people for no reason. If he hadn’t stolen all your mither’s asewo earnings, you would have had some education and known how to defend your arguments and not resort to daft insults. Anu mpam. 1 Like |

Kokolet11:. Oga, Did he build the malls with state government funds or as a private business man? How are malls are a priority for a state government? What percentage of citizens actually shop in these malls? Governments don’t have unlimited resources, they have competing demands and have to choose programs that improve the welfare of the highest number of citizens. Prestige projects like the ones you seem to love are just crowd pleasers sand do little to improve the important things. 1 Like |

Kokolet11: Oga, If you look at HDI statistics from Ebonyi you would realize that 200 “fly unders” is simply misplaced priorities and playing to the freaking gallery. I will always prefer a governor that gets his priorities right. He should go and understudy Peter Obi. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Develpeast: Thanks. This has always been my exact thoughts. The key challenge will be how to go about this objective. The financial architecture shouldn’t be too difficult but getting people who combine integrity with wide acceptance will be key. While I support your APGA idea, I think that waiting until all the 5 states are under one political umbrella before starting will only encourage opportunities for sabotage. I think a grassroots anchored approach might be better. The old Igbo Union made outstanding use of town unions. 1 Like |

Politics / Re: If Nigeria Doesn’t Realize It’s Potential , Africa Is Doomed, Kenyan Lawyer by Curlieweed: 9:08am On Aug 17, 2018 |
I hate to disappoint Patrick Lumumba but if Africa has to depend on Nigeria to realize her greatness then the continent is indeed doomed. For the good of the unfortunate denizens trapped in this colonial prison camp, the synthetic contraption masquerading as a nation has to fail and ultimately dissolve. Too many lives have been lost in the forlorn hope that this country will one day turn the corner. It’s time to give up this pipe dream and face the stark reality. This country was never designed to work as a nation. It was only cobbled together as a vehicle for exploitation and theft. When we say the leaders are thieves, they’re only using the country for its original purpose. On my own part I am hoping that Mumuharri wins the election next year so that he can continue the stellar job he is doing (destroying this shytehole) because it’s apparent that the colomental people in this country won’t go their separate ways if they’re not forced by hard circumstances to do so. |
