Good points Curlieweed!

The meeting was done obviously before the outcome of the rigged elections. Sadly, Ohanezes’ calculations didn’t quite pan out as hoped!

The points you raised are germane, but we can be proactive in this regard only in the restructured federation Dr Nwodo was talking of; or alternatively, in our own country! Dr Nwodo talked of supporting Atiku and PDP due to their favourable stand on restructuring, but personally i don’t see any northern president or the northern elite agreeing to a change in the status-quo that would revert the political-economic structures of the country back to its pre-66 settings, thereby giving them a kick in the teeth and leaving them with the short end of the stick! If anything, Buhari forcing himself on Nigerians makes that dream even more distant and unachievable!

Buhari has an agenda to hold the south down while the north Arewa steals unmerited advantages over us in the political-economy of the country! A restructured Nigeria will dagbaru his plans, so as long as he’s the de-facto president we may just as well perish that thought of restructuring! Our only other option is to focus on achieving Biafra or we hunker down and try and ride out the next 4 years, hoping minimal damage would be done to our region and people by the bigot-in-chief sat in Aso-Rock!

Personally, i thought those thinking they could remove the desperate likes of Buhari, Oshiomole, El-Rufai, Amaechi, Tinubu, Keyamo, et-al just by using their PVCS were a bit naive and too trusting!
I agree with you to a large extent. However, since we agree that restructuring will be very difficult to achieve politically (especially with the way the country is currently structured ploitically), is it then wise to hang our hopes on independence which again depends largely on the "kindness of strangers"? While I think Biafra is the ultimate prize, watching recent events unfolding in Catalonia significantly cooled my excitement about independence. And this was an advanced democracy like Spain.

I think that given the urgency of the issues facing this country and our homeland especially, it is wiser to assume that the political status quo continues and utilise those strenghts that are clearly within our control; mainly our strong community organisations to rally arround to save ourselves from the impending apocalypse. We can and should be able to think outside the box and work around the strictures placed on us by the current system. We really have few choices.

Anyone watched the above YouTube video yet? This is the Nnia Nwodo i love to see....he's mirroring my thought's exactly!

If you can't watch the entire clip due to data reasons, FF to 28.33 and hear what he said about our brothers in Rivers and Delta states (of which i'm one) and plans to bring us all under one region...albeit, still within Nigeria! smiley
I watched the video and I must say that Nwodo was impressive. He clearly did some very useful work in bringing together the Southern and Middle Belt Forums behind a worthy cause.

However, it was obvious from Mumuharri’s antecedents that those efforts were going to be ultimately futile. Some of us predicted that the elections were going to be massively rigged. And that was the case.

If the next few decades were going to be like the last few ones, then I would say that we should continue on this path of building bridges and eventually succeeding in restructuring this country.

However, without sounding too much of a Cassandra, the next few decades in this country are going to be very, very difficult ones. I can’t emphasize this enough. And it will be mainly due to two words, “Global Warming”. Of course Mumuharri’s incompetent economic management will not only exacerbate the downside but will also rob us of the ability to respond flexibly to this impending doom. Watching the “mere commissioner” debate Okwute doesn’t also give much room for hope in his direction. We are literally fcked.

Like I said in an earlier post, the likely scenario is that increasingly frequent droughts in the North as well as population pressures will increase the frequency and intensity of conflicts in the North and Middle Belt (and even start to affect the Northern fringes of Igboland).

As more countries switch to renewable energy supplies, government revenue will slow to a trickle. As economic and security anxieties increase, we will become an obvious target for scapegoating, given our nationwide exposure to commercial activities.

The threats are very, very urgent and while “building bridges” is good, we cannot ever again afford to rely on the kindness of strangers. It had failed us in the past and we can only expect failure in the future. We need to come together and craft a vision and pursue our survival with all the energy we can harness.

We cannot continue to wait for “restructuring” or even outright independence before we get our act to together. If we take the example of Slovenia (in former Yugoslavia, they ignored all the petty rivalry (like we have here; North vs South, SW vs SE), worked on building their homeland and were able to escape the eventual crises, virtually unscathed.

Make no mistake about it. Crises is coming and the sooner we started winding down our commitments outside Igboland the better.

PoliticsRe: The Socialist Politics Of Envy: What The World Can Learn From Nigeria by Curlieweed: 5:08pm On Mar 03, 2019
Great article. It excellently articulates my views.

I was rooting for Mumuharri to win so that Nigerians can learn the futility of living with the current political structure. Now, I wonder if we will not be paying too high a price for rejecting rational restructuring.

Already, we have lost over $140 Billion in Annual gross income, in just 4 years of this human disaster. It’s scary to even think about what’s in store for even the next couple of years.

Will Igbo sympathy stop the wanton killings by jihadist elements in the north which Buhari has refused to put a halt to?

Why should any Igbo or any southerner for that matter bear the responsibility of catering for the hordes of Hausa beggars in the south ?

Is christian charity the only solution to almajiri induced poverty ?
The Northern elite are fighting a brutal, crushing class war against the Northern masses while using phantom enemies in the South as a distraction.

It’s only self preservation for those us from the South to keep our distance. Hopefully, the Northern masses will wake up one day. Until then, charity will only delay the logical determination of this struggle.

Nigerian activist, frontliner of #Ourmumudondo, Charly Boy Oputa, has taken to social media to ask Nigerians to brace up for hard times following President Muhammadu Buhari's victory on Wednesday.

According to Charly Boy, President Buhari’s second term will be welcoming Nigerians to a whole new phase of slavery. The music veteran made this known via his Instagram page. He credited Buhari`s victory to his ”cabal’s smartness”. He said:

Oga Presido,

On the contrary, that will be the ultimate anti-corruption measure ever.

NNPC has been the hot bed of corruption like forever. Sell it and obliterate corruption. Why do you think OBJ and Mumuharri acted as Ministers for Petroleum?

Regarding, the Forex non-issue, the new owners will still sell their forex in the market. Moreover, the government will still receive its 85% Petroleum Profit Tax as well as 10% Royalty all payable is US$. There shouldn’t be much of a short fall in that regards. The proceeds from the sale of the corporation will also be in Forex. Actually, the Saudis are planning a similar sale for Saudi Aramco.

PoliticsRe: Buhari Is The Sponsor Fulani Invasion-Danjuma by Curlieweed: 8:58pm On Jan 31, 2019
naijaking1:
[s]Retired Lt. Gen. Theophilous Danjuma yesterday asked the people of Middle-Belt, South-West, South-South & South-East to forget all about 2019 Elections but to first fight back the Fulani murderous invaders and reclaim their lands which are now under Fulani occupation.

General Danjuma stated unambiguously that President Buhari is the direct founder and sponsor of Miyetti Allah and had concluded plans to provide safe heavens for all West African Fulanis in the entire SOUTH and the MIDDLE BELT. He made it clear that War had already been declared, going by the spate of relentless killings here and there, lamenting that helpless victims are predominantly Christians.

The retired General warned that Buhari has used Tinubu to divide South-West and that plans are underway to overrun Yoruba Kingdom and make them subordinate to Hausa-Fulani Oligarchy.

He equally lamented that from secrets file obtained, the conquest of Yoruba would commence as soon as they are through with Middle-Belt reqions. And that soonest they take hostage of Yoruba, their brothers from Sudan, Guinea, and other West African descent would combine to fight South-East and South-South.

Danjuma regretted that while the rest of Middle Belt and South are under invasion led by Army Chief of Staff, Lt. Gen. Buratai, our politicians are playing to the gallery, giving Buhari all necessary supports.

Danjuma opined that at present the Presidency has been taken over by Miyetti Allah and has vowed to retain Buhari in power even if it means shedding the blood of any opposition. Stating that should the people fail to rise now and put an end to this, either you are a moslem after 2019 or in Exile.

Contract Income is their revenue (or more plainly sales). Their actual net profit is the Profit before Taxation, less the Provision for Taxation (it is a provision because actual tax expense will not be incurred until the following year) which is given as the Profit after Taxation.

You might mean well but you shouldn’t make the fallacy of false generalizations. We don’t have the data to support your generalization at all. Even on this thread, we’ve had a number of Anambra people just like you coming to condemn the uncouthness exhibited by a few.

I grew up in Enugu and a large number of my childhood friends were from Anambra. I certainly don’t find these traits of pomposity and vanity in them (or they won’t be my friends). I can also assume the same to be true of you since you find these attitude repulsive.

Yes, some characters exhibit this attitude. This is hardly limited to Anambra people, people from everywhere exhibit similar characteristics albeit clad in different ways and it is mainly tied to their individual inferiority complexes and lack of exposure.

Can we assume that since you’re obviously a Star Wars fan we can generalize your character traits to other Star Wars fans. This is just a logical fallacy and we should avoid these generalizations because they form the basis for tribalism of all kinds.

Is it any surprise that these characters double as “One Nigeria” apologists?

They are reactionaries who exist only to uphold the status quo. That is until that status quo changes and then they become ardent fans of the next state of affairs.

If by tomorrow, one Col. Musa Burantashi does a coup and then carves them around River Iyiukwu. The next day, you will see them trumpeting the glories of Iyiukwu state and how it was divinely conceived.

I only feel sorry for innocents who engage them being unaware of their true mission. Which is to divide, deride and demoralize our people in order to uphold the existing dismal state of affairs.

There is nothing new here. The NA has been committing these crimes for well over a century. How do you think this contraption was cobbled together in the first place?

Please spare me the fake outrage! As much as we know that Mumuharri is an imbec1le, we need to tell the truth. The issue is institutional and beyond our current Presidiot.

The NA was never designed to protect the citizens of this country. The British organized these thugs to oppress, intimidate and dispossess the indigenous peoples of this colonial prison camp in order to deprive them of their liberty, lands and resources. Subsequent local overseers have left this criminal organization largely untouched because of the benefits derived in enabling them reign with almost total impunity.
