I have just received a UK visitor visa for 6 months. It is an eVisa, so there is no visa stamp in my passport.

Can I book a return flight with KLM? Do KLM require a transit visa in this scenario?

Thank you so much for your response. I did drop box and when I got my passport back from OIS that’s when I saw the letter telling me to come in for fingerprinting. So I really didn’t know what that meant and what the outcomes will be.

Hello everyone please I need help ooo.
I had an IW appointment that was reschedule automatically to August 2024 from my initial appointment date in Nov 2024 by the US consulate.

However I was unable to drop off my documents at the time due to work obligation. And was unable to reschedule another date as instructed in the email sent to me, because the old system became unavailable.

I am yet to get an email from the new service provider to migrate to the new portal.

What should I do, I still have my MRV intact on the old portal.

It's been 3 weeks since the new portal has been up, and I am yet to get the migration email.

Well regarding the drop off at OIS office and not getting a tracking ID,they said you ain't suppose to get one.

Just keep checking your appointment.oisservices to know when your passport gets to theoffice

Please i need help.... I had booked my IW appointment on the old platform for first week in september. I have been waiting for the mail from the new site but still have not gotten any mail.I have created a profile and still have not received any mail and i also cannot explain how the old appointment confirmation mail disappeared from my GMAIL. I have mailed them severally, no response, had a chat with a representative through the chat option, but nothing concrete.

Hello All. I was able to book an appointment for this Thursday on https://www.usvisaappt.com, but I'm yet to receive any confirmation email. Is this a problem? I was able to download the Interview Waiver Letter and all it says is to come with-
1. A passport valid for travel to the United States with a validity date at least six months beyond your intended period of stay in the
United States
2. Your DS-160 confirmation page
3. A passport photo taken within the last 6 months
4. The visa application fee receipt from First Bank of Nigeria
5. The printed Interview Waiver confirmation page

Am I supposed to do anything on OIS? I keep seeing something about OIS confirmation form here.

what I have is an OIS services acknowledgment slip I printed from their website after picking the date. i didn't get appointment confirmation mail from them or is it the same thing? also, the initial date for my mum's drop box is 23rd sept but i want to pick Friday on the OIS website so I can do mine and hers together. I hope it wont be an issue?

Yes, what I mean is the acknowledgement slip and my mum’s DHL Dropbox appointment was originally for 11th but I picked 10th for her on the OIS website and it was not a problem at all.

I booked an appointment for my mum on the OIS website and I'll let her know about the 48k payment as well, but just to reduce stress on the elderly lady, abeg. She has not yet received an email from AVITS, she just has her old IW appointment letter from USTraveldocs (appointment booked before the change in August), GTB payment receipt and DS160 confirmation. Does she need another appointment letter from AVITS please?

Hi!

I'm glad you could figure it out.

If possible, I suggest you get a September 11 appointment on OIS since that's the date you had from the former website.

Or at least contact customer care to be sure it doesn't matter so that you don't get turned back due to technicalities.

I'm not an official. Just sharing my thoughts.

Hello, I followed this step because I also have IW appointment booked for 11th September. However I am stuck on the page on that screenshot, I chose Visa services but Nigeria is not listed as part of the countries to choose from. Then I chose US visa document delivery and it only for people who are awaiting their documents to be delivered to them.

Any ideas on next steps please?

Hi,

There's something I read on the new site that may apply to you.

Apparently, the OIS has both free and paid options. To take advantage of the free, you need to book an appointment ahead and not just show up. Two people mentioned here that they had to pay N48k at OIS. One of them was dropping off for interview waiver whereas the other person was picking up their passport. By getting an appointment on the OIS site ahead, you should be able to avoid this charge.

1. There should be clickable link in that email which should take your sister to the new page where she can print a new VISA appointment letter. If there is none, do not panic, she will receive another email before the D day. If, around 1 - week to the new appointment she did not receive such mail, then she can call the helpline.

my wife got approved today F1 with a kid on F2.
I read the guy's transcript and i am shocked to my marrow he was not given especially going to such a reputable university and having funding.

my only advise is guys, please take time to fill out your DS-160 properly. I honestly believe that US visa interview is determined before hand i.e. before the candidate makes an appearance. You may convince them, you may talk yourself out of it but i strongly am of the believe that US visas are granted before you even make an appearance.

Maybe they have AI that assists them in placing everyone in particular categories? Maybe they have a dedicated team that simply reviews each application but i strongly believe what i said above and alot of people's experience both here and elsewhere point toward this.

I have a friend applying for a visa with two of her children and we are wanting to get clarification on the following.

- Already understood we have to submit a ds 160 for each of the kids including the primary applicant, as well pay the visa fee for each of them.
- The primary applicant already created a CGI profile to apply for a visa and has included the kids as dependents. The question is do she have to create a separate CGI profile for the kids as well? We also see that if we add the dependent to the primary account, we are prompted to submit their visa application payment receipt number. if we do this, do the kids still need a separate CGI account or can the primary account suffice for all of them?
- The kids are 4 years and 1 year. Does she have to take the kids to the embassy for the visa interview?

I got an Invitation to attend a Conference in the Aberdeen proving ground, U.S. Military's Base . The Conference is on CBRNe Conference, co-sponsored by the U.S. Army . I was approved to gain access to the U.S. Military's base after my application was vetted by the U.S. Army . I have filled the DS-160 form , paid the fee , but the appointment time giving to me was December , 2022 . I choose Abuja , however, I applied for the emergency appointment it was approved . The Conference is coming up 7-9th September, 2021 . I got the nearest date before the conference date, in the following day I got emailed from the organizer that the Conference Venue and date has changed due to the fact that the U.S. Government insist that all U.S. Military base should not allow conference or training from the U.S. Department of Defense , the conference was moved to one hotel at Baltimore , 8-9th September, 2021 without training again . This is after I have complete all the process for the Visa . What is my Chance of getting the Visa ? Note, this conference is an in-person program, as the virtual conference was held in April which I attended.

That is not true. Your DS160 must not be in same location. We have seen people change or reschedule their interview dates without changing their location or filling a new DS160 form.

what of those based in other parts of Nigeria, are they supposed to put an Abuja or Lagos address?

I have filled my DS160 form but yet to submit. I have a question. The question goes:

Have you travelled out of your country in the last 5years? That means year 2016 to 2021.

I travelled to UK 2012 and 2014, Ghana 2012, Austrial 2014 and SA 2011. That means all these are not in the last 5years.

My question is, how will they know that I have travelled out of the country before because my old passport is what carried all these. My new passport was only issued this year. Won't my application be showing that i have never travelled out of my country before. Or should I just ignore the last 5years written and add all this. Thanks

Category: J1 student, instead of J1 scholar

I'm not a student

I didn't notice until I got home. I plan going back to lodge a complain at GTB bank. Perhaps because of my small stature, the lady at the bank felt there was no need to ask me of my exact category under J1, and abruptly concluded that I must be a student!

Can this be changed?

I already pick October 14 as date of my appointment. Should i request for emergency appointment or I should just leave it and just go for the appointment on the appointed date. Just as said earlier my admission has been deferred till next year Jan. All I just want to know is that can I just stay by the appointment date without changing anything on my Visa application or ds 160. So that I will not be ask questions on that day that but your admission has expired. Is that I will just tell them it was referred to Jan with the new i20 and admission letter.

Me: Sure, I secured a fully approved education loan from Mpower Finance. It will be paid directly to my school upon arrival.

Please here is my current status.

Umass Amherst with no funding CoA - $60k : submitted I-20 application to school on Sat. - resumption date: 1 Sept

MSUM- some form of funding CoA- $25K admission came with I-20 yesterday but funding was not on the I-20. Resumption date: Aug 18.

I got admitted to other schools- Arizona, Loyola, Fordham, Etsu, UWW, UWM and Fairfield. Got some of funding tho.

But I prefer Umass and my Bro, who is a US citizen and my sponsor, is also sync.
My Bsc, the Msc and current career are perfectly aligned - Accounting.

I've paid for visa and started filing the DS-160 but I've not paid for Sevis

So here are my questions:

1. Can I use the I-20 from MSUM for my interview and later change my Sevis to Umass before even leaving Nig?
Why? Cos the I-20 is with me and the CoA is small so want to avoid funding issue at the interview

2. On the DS-160 application: there are 3 parts:
A. Who can Identify you in the US(paraphrased)/: should I put my bro or the school?
B. Who is sponsoring your trip: this has to be bro?
C. Do you have fam in the US: my bro- guess I can't avoid this since he's bankrolling the project.
Other info:

I've never been to US but bro has been there for about 16years, but all other siblings and parents reside in NG and there have been cross visits over the years. Lastly, bear in mind that my bro stays in CT just 3hrs away from Amherst MA, so consider this info in your opinion.

So guys what do you think? I need your opinions and apart from the questions above, how to prob approach the family ties and sponsor.

This is my 3 Attempt. First was October 19, 2020 with my 9 yr old daughter at Lagos ( Florida State University, Tallahassee. Scholarship $15,000). Second Attempt, I applied alone December 2, 2020 at Abuja( Florida State University).

I already made arrangements for all of the above. I have been asking God to arise for me and he did.

Please if you see Jesus thank him for me. I shed tears of joy that my daughter asked me " Mummy we didn't win again"���
