here is my situation and your advice is genuinely needed. i had a b1-b2 which expired last month although i travelled for tourism with this visa. now im expecting my LO and will like to give birth in the US. i am also planning on renewing my visa(drop box) . should i choose b2 (medicals) while renewing or b1-b2? please advise

Choose B2.
Your visa will still carry B1/B2 when it's issued though.

Hello house! How many replies is one to get when one applies for Visa on Arrival?
I sent my application on Friday and I only got a reply that says received. Is that what I will travel with?
My flight is on the 28th.

If you are in Ibadan, i strongly recommend St Gregory(Morokay) at Yemetu. Its 5k there and they ll carry you along as its been done

I have shared visa and Poe experience so it's time to share my birthing experience.
I stayed in Michigan till a week to my EDD before I left for Chicago
I had my LO on Wednesday 19th of July in Chicago. A day after delivery my LO's birth certificate was ready but cldnt get it till after I was discharged (I fast tracked it).I was discharged on Friday evening..went to vital records to get the BC. Had an appointment with the paediatrician On Tuesday after I was discharged and LO was certified okay...I got a fit to fly for my LO from the paediatrician cos I was gonna travel to NY and domestic airlines need certification for infants less than 14days to fly. Went back to Michigan on weds.

Called Qatar airways Customer Care to get my LO ticket and was charged $150.(note that I got my ticket from wakanow but booked LO directly)
Hubby mailed notarized form thru FedEx (I was very disappointed in their service) after several calls to them I eventually got the package on Saturday after which I left for the airport to board plane to NY.

On Monday I went to NY passport office very early as walk in and I met a very long queue...eventually after 5hrs I made it in and my passport was processed for $165 I waited to collect it...left there around 9pm. On Tuesday I sent a mail for visa on on arrival to the immigration and got a reply after 5 hrs..
On Wednesday, Got to the airport checked in all my over weight luggage (3 big luggages 2 for me and 1 for baby) no extra charges the guy was too nice, checked in baby stroller and car seat and my supposed overweight hand luggage..lol...
Had 9 hrs layover at Doha was lodged in a hotel...slept for 3hrs before we were taken back to the airport..got to naija on Friday morn..got my luggage and went to the visa on arrival section...paid $200 and I was given change of $10 lol...
I left NY exactly 14 days(2weeks) after LO arrival.
We are doing great...just adapting to this no light country again..lol..

Let it be the first thing you ll tell the VO on the day of your interview. Simply say there is a mistake u ll like to correct on your application form and spell it out!

An update on this!
Dallas passport agency actually accepts any consent form,whether notarized at the US embassy or by a notary public.
For those that may not get desired appointment dates at the embassy.

Any reviews for Ibadan? I heard from experienced mums who used them that UCH nurses can be insensitive .
Phew!

At the bolded,I actually don't think that's so true(from my experience), I was recently discussing with somebody about how very professional the nurses in UCH ANC are. Even though I never gave birth Dre, I have used them in both my pregnancy and I was admitted there in both pregnancies for severe morning sickness and bleeding in pregnancy. I was prepared that I would have to cope with nurses being nasty but I was showed the opposite.
This is just my review of ANC nurses,can't say about the other clinics in UCH.

Most of the dates in August are available, maybe you should check again. After reading ur post, I had to check as well considering my time but I saw a lot of available dates. All the best.

I eventually used JPS in Forthworth,Dallas. Search for JPS on this forum,somebody already shared their cost breakdown, or search MiddyO posts

Yes, they may turn a person back if the person lied about the pregnancy to them and didn't fill the medif form. Apart from that,you are good to go

na when I began to make one mooing noise like a cow that they stopped their loud gist and came to see. she shoved her whole fist into me and by then the only thing on my mind was"wetin remain for me to see for here" she now said, this head is too big oo.

I ignored her and continued pushing, I could feel the head coming down and removed my hands from my ankles to my bum na so the nurse hit me, comon remove hand from there. I turned and lifted a hand to her to say no vex u here and she moved back sharply and said ,don't touch me with your dirty hands, I would have loved ti say that I gave her a befitting reply but I didn't. I turned and asked her what did you say and she repeated it and said "is that not the hand you were using to touch your bum, please don't touch me with it"

I am the non confrontational type, hate quarrels and would rather enter a hole than confronting someone, I felt those words into the depths of my soul. I am crying again as I type this and even the other nurse felt bad. I was just following her around with my eyes all around the room. this first nurse now gave me a tear and the head popped out and the body followed immediately.

that was around 3.15am Saturday morning. long story short, she sewed me up and that was that.

I went to general hospital cos I had my last baby there and they were wonderful but this birth has shown me that an organization is good depends not on the building or structure in place but on the personnel running the place.

at the end, I went home with my Angel baby girl and she is the greatest gift of all. Please thank God with me mothers.

If you stay in an accommodation with other Nigerian mums,you can liase with one of them to keep your child while you are away.
If you are a xtian,u can also speak with the pastorate of the church you worship at, if they can be of any help,probably by linking you up with some mums in the church that can keep your child.
You can also look for a daycare around your accommodation where he can stay while you are away.

Adediwura is a girl's name but Ara is unisex.

Birth Story.
So my baby has been breech since 30 weeks and has refused to change position(I am a STM and my first child was also breech which resulted in an emergency CS then too after my water broke). At my 36th week appointment(last Thursday), the Dr told me to do some exercise to make baby flip down but that he will try and do an External Cephalic Procedure to turn the baby if she is still breech and that I would have a scheduled CS by July 25 if the procedure isn't successful. My next appointment was to be today(37 weeks) but I started having pain on the right side of my abdomen since Sunday. I slept through it on Sunday night but it got worse on Monday morning and I just felt it must be labour pain so I went to the hospital at about 3pm. I was checked and monitored for about 2 HRS but the midwife said I wasn't having any contractions and I was only dilated about 1-2cm so I should go back home. She also said my baby is still breech and that I am scheduled for a CS on the 25th. I asked her about the pain and she said its probably the baby pulling or something. I went back home and ate at about 10pm,then I went to bed. The pain was still there and it even intensified to some form of menstrual cramps that was coming and going every 10mins or less. In my mind, I was like,if this is not the real labour pain,then I don't ever want to experience what the real labour pain feels like. By 12:30am,I started throwing up then my water broke. I woke up my mum,told her what has been
happening,I took my bath and we headed to the hospital. The hospital is about an hour from the house and I was having very serious contractions in the car. We got to the hospital at about 2am and I couldn't seat nor stand I was just shivering. I was checked immediately and they said I was 8-9cm dilated and baby was frank breech,I was already having the urge to push and the medical practitioners all started pacifying me not to push. Some were even asking why I stayed home this long before coming,the only answer I gave was an evil eye telling him he needs to check their record and see that I was in the hospital earlier in the day but they sent me back. I was wheeled into the theatre immediately and my baby was brought out at 2:18am on Tuesday,11th July,weighing 3.3KG. I am still angry that I dilated fully and still had to have a CS but God's ways are not our ways and his ways are always perfect. I am recovering well and baby is doing well too.
I wish our remaining mamas very swift delivery and plenty baby dust to our GTC mamas.

Do you mean, what if you were granted the visa after you told the VO that u will be going for a bday and also be birthing,you now do not go for the birthday in August but you travel to birth in Dec?
That would pose no problems.
The most important thing is to declare your birthing intentions whenever u go for your interview or u may have issues at the POE and also at you visa renewal.
