Get the invitation but also get your Dr/Hospital Correspondence to take to the interview plus your statement of account and work related documents. Then you will have to tell them you will be staying behind after the birthday to give birth.
The problem there may lie in your job,you may have to do some convincing as to how you will leave your job in Nigeria for that long...but then,who knows maybe you are a homemaker.

Since you are applying for the medical category,I think you should fill ur Dr/Hospital cos that's your primary aim in the US and as someone else suggested,Dre is another place where u can fill your uncle's address. I think the address of where you would be staying

I usually dont do this, but i kind of share Twood's and Justwise' POV on this. People get pregnant everyday with afterthought of birthing in the US.

In my opinion, send your family on vacation has planned, not compulsory you join them. Besides, wont the kids be in school in June?

Her situation sounds just like mine was in 2014. Got my visa(June 2014) to attend a programme in NY in July 2014. Unfortunately, I returned from my interview and was admitted straight for severe morning sickness which I battled for like the first 4 months of my pregnancy.I was in the hospital for up to 2 months so I obviously missed the program. I went on to use the visa to birth in Feb 2015 and I was able to renew my visa this Feb 2017 without been called in for an interview. So in my opinion, even the VOs and CBPs know things happen every now and then. What if she is in the same situation and can't travel again at this time?

I urgently need help concerning my case which I'll explain below so you good people can grasp my condition and help out accordingly:

We applied for B1/B2 Tourist visa on the May 26th and to God be the glory it was issued to the entire family of four...myself, my wife, 5yrs and 3 yrs old boys. We were supposed to go to New York for the vacation by June but duty calls due to some urgent concern at my company and I had to return to my work station in Qatar where I'm working as an Engineer, we then agreed to postponed the vacation till January 2017 which would be my annual leave.

My wife called a week later that she think she was pregnant and I've been having a sleepless night ever since because a lot of things are at stake, I immediately begin to make inquiry how this new development would impact our chance of getting to US by January considering the pregnancy would be 7 months or thereabout and evident hence it can't be hidden from the officer at the POE.

I am capable to finance the birth of my child in the US but my challenge is...would they allows us entry into the US because I've heard series of advise from people....

- some said I should enter before the pregnancy becomes 3 months by when it would be obvious and noticed by the CBP
- some said even at 7 months, they will allow us entry provided we can show evidence of medical reports from a US hospital
- some said we'll be deny and the visa cancelled.

I can't leave Qatar now as my annual is not until January except I want to resign my position.

Pls good people, I need your advise cos decision needed to be made.

I don't see a problem since she wasn't pregnant at the time of your interview. Get your self prepared for the birthing( Dr,hospital,etc)

OK,so I arrived the US yesterday through Dallas. I flew Qatar airline at 34weeks and the POE was a breeze. My seat was changed in the plane, I was given a whole row(3seats) to sleep so I didn't really feel the journey was loooonng. Thanks to the air hostesses, and we were served jollof rice in the plane...I loved that! Had only about 4hrs layover in Doha. Arriving the Dallas airport was like arriving Oshodi market, the crowd was massive, I was allowed to join the B1/B2 visa holders queue right in front because I am a pregnant. We took turns to scan our passport, it got to my turn and I spent less than 3 mins doing that. The receipt was printed out and I was directed to get my bags after which I proceeded to Immigrations. The officer that attended to me only asked a few questions and stamped me in in less than 2 mins.
Officer: Hello ma'am. What brings you to the US this time?
I: I am here to give birth to my baby
Officer: Oh! You Pregnant?
I: Yes
How much do you have on you?
I: $$$$
Officer: Have you paid part of your bills?
I: No
Officer: Where would you be staying?
I: (showed her the address) The same place I stayed when I was here the last time
Officer: Oh, you have been here before?
I: Yes ma'am!
Officer: (Stamps me in and hands over my passport) Wish you the best then. Did you come with any form of food?
I: No
Officer: That's fine then. You can go.
It was really short.

PS: So I got into Dallas just for my host to tell me somebody called from Dr Stimage office that she is fully booked for July and can't accept me. I sent her my medical records and EDD by email last Monday. Now I have to start searching for a DR at 34weeks. Mamas that have given birth in Dallas,pls lead me cos I am too frustrated to search now. So i was induced at 38 weeks. Yes i did not wait for labour to kick in, for health reasons and because i dont understand the waiting for 40-42weeks sef! I had two sets of gynaes, the highrisk ones wanted me to wait while they monitor things every week while the regular gynae agreed with me that since baby n i are fine and full term then why wait for any chance that it might change in two weeks.

-So they induced me with an insert called cervidil, they placed it on my cervix for 12 hours. It looks like a short tape rule, they will push it in and leave it for 12 hours till they take it out. I was 0.5 before they started and by 12hours later, i was ordinary 2cm. Contractions had started after like the first 2hours and had been coming closer. To occupy my time i was counting the contraction time with my mom so my husband left us to come back when it was like 10hours time.

They took out the implant at 12hours and started oxytocin IV, this was 12.30am. By 1am, 2am i kept standing up to vomit but nothing was coming out, i wanted to poop too, nothing. By 4am, contractions were like 3mins apart and super painful so i beg nurse to check again and im just 4cm. I think my brain got hot when i heard that. I was thrashing with the pain and ordinary 4cm?!? Nurse had promised to give me epidural by 4cm so i was screaming where's my epidural. She said she would call the anaesthesiologist and prep me and that's how she was doing that outside n wasting time when i told hubby i feel like im pushing. I was shouting the pain doesnt stop, why is there no break, the pain keeps coming. I was thrashing by now. My mom says her heart broke knowing she couldnt help me.
So my husband calls my nurse to say she says she's pushing. My nurse says thats not posdible she's just 4cm. So she checks again and screams OMG! ure 9.5cm. Im shouting where's my epidural. She says honey if you sit up for epidural this baby is falling out. I tell her she lied to me, we had a deal, 4cm-epidural, im crying now. She presses all the panic buttons that she needs all the doctors now, her patient just jumped to 9.5cm. Before the doctors come, she gives my mom one leg n my husband the other to hold. Like 5minutes later they're saying they can see the head, which head? I turned to my husband, is it true? He says yes its true i should push again n he's smiling. Minutes later my princess, my lil Matilda arrives after 5am.

Ps. Throughout the pain from 12midnight to delivery my dh would be whispering to me, u can do it, dont give up, dont say ure tired, ure almost there! etc. My mom asked me afterwards what he was telling me. It helped a whole lot.

Any other mom with autoimmune ish! You can do it God that helped me will help you. Just be open to CS If needed or preferably sef and do family planning after, dont be getting pregnant soon after. The doxtors made me sign that if the induction wasnt successful i would do CS. I told dem no wahala now, even some people who go into labour by themselves still do CS.

Ps. all those mommies that feel proud of themselves for doing vaginal and use it to insult other women, pele ooo, ure not strong, ure just lucky or blessed, i hope u realize it one day.
Vaginal delivery hurts like a MF, CS i will try next time n compare unless my baby disagrees n comes by 38weeks. 40weeks or later is not my deal. My baby is 4weeks now. I cant imagine just going to labour now, like kilode?!? I used to talk to my baby, madam here's the deal, momi is too excited to see u, so either come by urself or accept that i will encourage u out. Agreed? I think she said Yes

-Turns out my nurse had called my husband out to explain that my lab tests showed my platelets had dropped too low for them to give me the epidural without risking that i wont stop bleeding after delivery and need transfusion. They were trying to find a solution when i started to say i was pushing.

Ps. Sit over hot water after u leave the hospital. The steam sitz bath its called. Yorubas make u sit on potty but if u can get this plastic (see pic) they gave me in the hospital and place on toilet seat its more convenient. Steam seating works like magic for flattening ur stomach and removing some thick chunks of blood. I couldnt believe what fell out. My mom wanted to make me do it for two weeks morning noon and night. I think i quit after one week.

To reduce pre term contraction, take rest, reduce stress, maintain stable emotions, always empty your bladder, always drink plenty water, don't lie on your back, practice polar bear position. God will see us through. We shall be congratulated.

Hi everyone, so my consignment from heaven, my princess arrived on May 16th, at Emory hospital midtown.
Here's my breakdown:
Emory 3900 VD, 425 anaes (baby came too fast, so no epidural)
Dr Brown 2850 (includes lab cost and post natal visits)
So normally i should get cash back, but my Bp shot up three days after delivery and I had to go to ER, so for that one, I just found out i will still have approx $1500 to still pay even after swallowing my credit for epidural.
Notwithstanding, I bless God cos im fine now and baby did not have any issues at all!
Once i get zero balance ill update this post.

Visa officers do not appreciate pregnant women applying for a visa especially when they know that the intention is to give birth in their country: and it is worse if you are a first-time traveler unless if there are compelling reasons why you think giving birth to your baby in Nigeria is not a safe thing to do.
Most people who travel abroad to give birth are holders of long term multiple entry visas which were issued them before they got pregnant or before their pregnancy became obvious.

This info is absolutely wrong. There is no crime in giving birth in the USA and no VO will refuse you for saying you are going to birth. Many people get medical visas everyday, its just for you to prove that you are prepared by getting Doc and hospital correspondences and also prove that you are financially capable.

God has indeed been faithful and we return all the glory to Him alone who is worthy of our praise.
We thank God for the provisions so far and we pray that for those still waiting on God for financial provisions, God will open doors of financial abundance for us IJN.
We use those whose LOs have turned to cephalic as point of contact and pray before 35 weeks, all #TeamJuly LOs will be in cephalic position IJN.
We pray for those with low PCV, high bp, unnecessary contraction, body pain, swollen body part, e.t.c that God almighty will perfect all that concerns us and give us needed strength and good health IJN.
As for all #TeamJuly, we shall not have any reason whatsoever to cry over our born or unborn LOs IJN.
We pray that God will send His angels to deliver our baby safely on our delivery day and that every evil that is set for that day will not be our portion IJN.

If you have help, you can let the person feed her from the bottle whenever you are asleep. This will even help you get a deserved rest.
