CJStarz:The thing is, I won't be spending much on legal fees as I have many friends and family members who are lawyers and will do it either pro bono or for a little payment. I intend to go to Opay HQ at Alausa tomorrow, and hopefully, we can start from there. |
Christlike01:Thank you for your response. I don't use Opay as my main bank, I only use them for daily/household transactions and quick buys, so i do quite a lot of transactions with it, even more than my main account, however, the mystery here is that I downloaded my account statement for the last 1 year, and still can not find that name in any transaction aside the eroneous transaction. But it is virtually impossible for it to appear on my beneficiary list if I have never transacted with it. |
eyenogoquiet:I went to a gtbank branch and the lady bluntly told me they can not do anything about it until Opay contacts them. Opay, on the other hand is refusing to contact them because only the first 4 account numbers match. I am in a limbo, i don't even know. I have promised myself that if i visit another GTbank branch and they eventually help me out or restrict the account, I will go back to that first branch, meet the young banker and scream at her long eyelashes for deliberately assisting in fraud. |
Firebox123:According to my lawyer friend, an affidavit will restrict his GT Bank account, fine, but that is what will buy time to get a proper court order to get the money reversed. She said getting a court order in Nigeria is a problem as you have to follow up for months to get it. She said she is also in he process as she sent money to the wrong account last month and that the money is restricted in the Palmpay account until she is able to get a court order. That will do just fine for me too. In summary, all i am looking for is this person's contact details. This person most likely stays close to me, the contact is all i need. |
Firebox123:If it is restricted, the person has no choice but to dialogue, except he has no interest in banking in Nigeria anymore. I have begun processing an affidavit. |
Firebox123:So how am I to sort this out? Or I should forget about the money in this hard time? I have contacted a couple of lawyer friends to see the way forward and probably get an affidavit. |
Firebox123:Been on NL since 2009, made front page with various contributions, but this one will be the biggest reward to me if it eventually does. @nlfpmod do something please. |
Firebox123:Surprisingly, the person is not on Nairaland, not on Facebook or Twitter (at least not with that name), the account number too has not been posted on these platforms. As much as I want to get my funds back, I will also want to respect the person's privacy by not exposing the account details publicly, however, the name is Atobase Hammed Alabi , if anyone can or wants to help me get the details of the recipient, please send a DM here or mail me on contact@martinsmorris.com.ng @nlfpmod please help out.
|
Firebox123:I initially thought about that, but I also said to myself that the mistake was from me, and it will be somehow to restrict his account for something he has no idea about. If I had contacted him and he refused to refund, that definitely would be my next line of action, but the banks refusal to help out puts me in a difficult situation. I may have to get that court order and restrict his account for something he has no idea about. UPDATE I got an affidavit, now i am looking to submit it to a GT bank branch. This was what Opay was telling me on multiple occasions on different platforms. People initiate recalls for transactions that have completely and totally different account numbers/details, and it is successful, so how is mine, which even carries similarities, special? They have bluntly said they will not contact GT Bank because the account mismatch is significant, but what does that concern them? Are they trying to be complicit in their customer losing his funds? The first screenshot is IG, second is Twitter. UPDATE 2.0 Customer has emptied his account, we are talking about a fraud case now. Account has been put on lien Atobase Hammed Alabi Account number Gt bank 0012278931 Atobase Hammed Alabi Has been confirmed to be fraudulent and is wanted

Yesterday, I attempted to pay my mechanic the remaining balance of N128,000 for car repairs via my Opay app. I had previously paid him part of the amount. He provided the first four digits of his GTBank account, and an account appeared in my app after entering them. I confirmed with him that it was a GTBank account, and he agreed, so I transferred the funds. A few hours later, the mechanic informed me he hadn’t received the money. Initially, we suspected a network delay and agreed to wait until today. However, this morning, he confirmed the funds were not credited, and I discovered I had sent the money to the wrong account. Shockingly, the recipient’s account shared the same first four digits, was also with GTBank, and both account holders have Yoruba Muslim names, an unlikely coincidence. Upon checking my transaction receipt, I realized the account was one I had sent money to previously, which is why it appeared in my app. I immediately contacted Opay, but they stated they couldn’t initiate a recall because only the first four digits matched. They advised me to contact GTBank to obtain the recipient’s details or request a refund from the recipient. GTBank, however, refused to assist unless Opay contacts them, and Opay insists they cannot act due to the mismatch in account numbers. I’m at a loss on how to resolve this issue, as neither Opay nor GTBank is providing actionable assistance. Is there a way to retrieve the recipient’s details using the transaction session ID or account number? Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Please, i need help

Like play like joke, that boy that was riding a bicycle and shouting 'Holla at your boy' is almost clocking 40. Happy birthday legend, tho I don't understand his music style transition this days. Breaking and holding on to the western market no be by force. |
fuckingAyaya:mine urinated and pooped everywhere for more than 6 months, i was frustrated, i shouted at the dog, sometimes, i even beat it, until i came to seek for help here, and they just asked me to be patient with teaching her where to wee and poop. I later got one bottle spray and a pet potty that had grass on it, i sprayed the content of the bottle on the grass every morning and evening, and slowly, she began going there to pee and poop, she will sniff and sniff until she goes and does it there. There were times of replase tho, but after she became like almost 10 months, she knew where to poop and pee. She is 4 years old now and till date, she has never pooped anywhere that isnt grassy. Even when we go for a walk, once she sees grass, she will start pulling me there to poop or wee. |
Eskimos are generally very wonderful pets to own. I have 2 myself and they are a big part of my life. Eskimos are very intelligent dogs, one of the most intelligent I have ever owned. They can be stubborn at times if you are not firm with them, and noisy too. Make sure you get them enough exercise during the day; they easily get bored and will entertain themselves by destroying anything in sight. They are playful and friendly if properly groomed. Also, be ready to find white hairs everywhere in your house if you intend for the dog to be indoors, especially if your couch is not leather. My dog has gone everywhere with me in this life through her hair, plane o, bus o, train o, boat o, everywhere, until i discovered i needed to be brushing the hair often to remove dead hairs, since then, it has reduced drastically. They are also very selective dogs, they select what to eat a lot. Cmanforall:I am only reminding everyone of Nairaland rules, incase they forget. ![]() |
Xso666:Send her parking. I remember I once had something similar with an ex, she asked her uncle whom I respect very much to talk to me, when I met the man, the first thing he told me was that 'Young man, this thing is totally up to you, but as for me, if I see my wife coming out of a man's room, there is nothing she can tell me that will make me believe nothing happened, weather it happened or not, for me, it has happened, cos there is no justification for a married woman to be in a private space with another man who isn't her husband, so if I want to continue the relationship, I should make sure it is at the back of my mind that she did this in this past, and I have forgiven, if I know o can't, I should end the relationship ' I respected that man even more that day cos he didn't mind the fact that she was his sister's child. By the way, why did the man run if nothing indeed happened? |

Everything in the country is not working. The drivers license I applied for since February, it was Friday last week they called me for my CBT, I took the entire day off to go there at obalende, inside the rain that had been falling since the previous day, and encountered terrible traffic on Lekki-Epe express, my car was even bashed by one guy behind me, I sha arrived early and was asked to wait. I waited from 10am till 4pm only for them to say the portal is not going through and they are about closing, I was pissed, I literally canceled all my plans for that day for this, plus, using over 15k for fuel as I was coming from quite a distance. I decided not to waste the day and just go to oyingbo to do a few things in my car, only for me to be stopped by police on the road, I gave them my documents, everything was complete, except the license. I explained to them but these men no gree hear o, they asked me to buy 10 liters of fuel for them, I no gree o, after we drag and drag, dem sha gree for 3 liters. The police man was foolish enough to call his personal UBA account number for me to send the money, if ntt because na nice man, shey no be to put am for trouble now now? |
Nackzy:Plateau state will never vote the APC, except of course if El Rufai is included in the coalitions presidential ballot, then the middle belt will more than likely vote the APC, any other candidate the Coalition brings forward will floor Tinubu in the state, even Atiku. The governor is being lured to the APC by Tinubu and his cohorts, however, if he tries decamping, he should consider his second term GONE, cos his supporters will never vote for the APC after the shege Lalong showed the state. |
The evidence seems damning on a moral level, Cassie’s video, the multiple lawsuits, and the consistent stories from different people make it hard to believe nothing happened. But legally, the bar for racketeering and sex-trafficking is high, and juries can’t just go off vibes. They need proof beyond reasonable doubt. The split verdict feels like they threaded the needle: they held him accountable where the evidence was clear but didn’t stretch to convict on charges that might’ve been shakier. Still, with all the civil cases and public backlash, this isn’t the end of Combs’ troubles. |
TallNigerian:The difference between Plateau and Lagos is that Plateau is only unsafe in the villages and outskirts. In town, you can walk with your phone anytime, you can drive with your glass down or in traffic without any fear, you can walk with far more confidence even at night, you can't try these ones in Lagos, both mainland and island. The petty crimes in Lagos is x3 of what is happening in other states, the only difference is that it doesn't always lead to death. If a robbery or murder happens in Lagos, in most casses, it's not a 'very big news' for the media, so they may not be very interested in it, but if herdsmen attack in Benue, it's big news that will bring in a lot of traffic, they will milk that story dry. |
This is so heartbreaking. No matter what, do not fight with someone who is holding a gun; he or she has all the power, don't even try something funny, even if you suspect there is no bullet in it. It reminds me again of how we’ve become so desensitized in Nigeria. People just watch or record as someone dies, like that bike man shot in ABSU, ignored even by his fellow Okada men until he passed. Many years ago, while i was much younger, i was in a Korope going somewhere and an accident happened before we got there, i saw a woman lying in the middle of the road, blood gushing out of her head, she was very much alive and moving, pleading for help, but everyone was just passing her, i felt terrible and helpless, but that day, i promised God that if he gives me my car, i will never pass someone between life and death in such situation with my own safety assured, i will definitley help. Since I got my car a few years ago and started driving, I have never encountered such a scenario, but whenever I do, I will do what I can. Sheybi na police report abi wahala? It's better to try than do nothing, it's the life of a human being who has been struggling to live since childhood, no be chicken. Faith’s story is a painful example; she might’ve survived if someone had helped her after that robbery. We need to do better, and the government needs to find ways to make people not be scared to help out. May her soul rest in peace. mrvitalis:This is very true! Many robberies, murders, and deaths go unreported every day in Lagos because it is too wide for the mainstream media to capture. For me, Lagos is the most unsafe state in Nigeria when it comes to crime. |
suleimanshehu:Jos North has an 80% Muslim population? You must be mistaken it for Katsina. The Jos north I am talking about is in Plateau state, and the muslim population there is nothing compared to the Christian population, and as for the indigenous muslim population, there are just a few . The major place where there are indigenous plateau muslims is in Wase and a few other local governments like Quanpan, Kanke. Wase has the highest muslim population, and again, your people stole Wase from the Jukuns. Today, you have installed Emirs and converted many of them to Muslims, that is your aim in Jos north, but that can never work. Lalong himself can only show his projects on Paper; we can not see them. The hundreds of tractors he claimed he purchased, to date, we have never seen anyone with our own eyes. The terminus market he used to campaign and promised to fix, has he done it? Instead, he wanted to further plunge the state into slavery by partnering with an Islamic bank, but plateau people are wiser. As for Mutfwang, i am his big fan, i do not mind what party he belongs to, just as long as he is working, he can be part of Pluto Party for all i care, I know one thing, he loves his state, and will never sell it out like lalong was doing, He is a mangu man, and even his people will turn against him if he tries it, and why will your brothers cowardly attack vilages anyhow during Lalong's period? Nahh, you won't do that cos Lalong is in APC, and that will ruin the chances of the party returning, so the attacks will be minimal. The way to know that a governor is protective of his state from Land grabbers is when the Fulani attacks intensifies, and Oh, and as for Jang, he will continue to be you and your kind's nightmare in the state. He is a pillar that can not be shaken until he leaves this earth, and thank God he is raising other men that will continue to uphold and protect the state from ancestral thieves like you. If protecting my heritage means I am based on sentiment, then I will gladly and wholly accept it. Your kaduna example is flawed cos everybody knows Christians in Kaduna are the minority, they have very little say in the States affaris, and that is exactly what the muslims are in Plateau state. And why are you excluding yourself from Fulani's? Are you not one family? oh! i forgot, you all are now crying everywhere cos all your emirs and governors are Fulanis, they have successfully conquered and integrated the Hausas. But then, tell me why a Christian indigene has not ruled Kano, Katsina, Sokoto, Zamfara, etc, or are there no indigenous Christians there? |
suleimanshehu:LMAO, in your mind, anyone against the devilish APC thieves is playing the religious card? One of the mistakes i made in my life that i still regret till date was voting for Buhari against GEJ in 2015, In the whole of Jenta-Apata ward, only 2 of us voted for Buhari, and it was a topic in the entire area because i am quite popular, so if you are trying to go that way, you have failed. I went through your comments, and the way you are defending the APC, there is nothing I will say that will make you agree that Lalong was a mistake and a disaster that should never happen again on the Plateau. His tenure was terrible, I dont even stay fully in Jos, but each time i go back home, it felt like going 2 years into the past, the state was regressing, no new roads, poverty, only patch patch roads, the road from Plateau hospital to Polo was dak at night, cult clashes everywhere, i cant even say it all. He was popularly known as the 'Patch Patch' governor because of his love for patching up roads made by Jang and the previous administrations, instead of actually making new roads, and that patching only happens when the President is visiting the state. The Apata roads that he scattered, till he left, he never fixed it, go and see it for yourself today under Mutfwang. You are trying to twist the narrative, Plateau people were never against Lalong being campaign director, they don't have problems with that cos they know, right from the CPC days, APC has never won and will never win the state in Presidential elections, they were instead against the entire APC, and Lalong as a govenor. I, in particular, was never against Nentawe; his downfall was the Lalong alliance. You do not expect people to vote for Lalong's boy, fully knowing Lalong was a disaster himself, do you? And isn't it suspicious that all the Hausa/Muslims were fully backing Nentawe? Does it not look suspicious? By the way, how is the Nentawe performing as minister right now? Was he not the one trending for saying He used AI to identify poor Nigerians? The 2023 elections were never held based on religious sentiments. Nentawe had the full backing and support of thousands of Plateau people, unlike 2015 when GNS only had the Berom and a few others, the Muslims were clearly never voting for the tribe that is their nightmare onf the Plateau, so he did not even get any votes from the Muslim community. The same thing that played out to give LP that many votes in 2023 was the same thing that played out for GNS; he lost simply because of 'protest votes' by the people. If there is anyone who carries religion on his head, it's you, cos I can swear with my life that you have never voted for any party outside the traditional 'Islamically' perceived parties (APC,CPC,ANPP, etc) |
“Let’s look at it from a mathematical perspective. Your girlfriend has a girlfriend. Add that up. Two girlfriends. It’s a mathematician’s dream.” — Lucious Lyon - Empire. I don't mind. |
suleimanshehu:I have never claimed the Beroms alone outnumber all others put together, did i? I simply said population-wise, Beroms are clearly greater. No single tribe can win the governorship by itself, but if anyone can come close, it's the Berom, and it was clear during GNS Pwajok. Despite how the other tribes vented their anger and displeasure with Jang for trying to bring in another Berom man, even with the gang up, Lalong won with just about 40k votes. Basically, every tribe on the Plateau was against GNS; you dare not be caught with GNS posters around Rukuba road and the likes, yet, the margin was not too great, which tells you that the Berom is significant. However, it was very humbling to the Beroms cos it made them know that they can not run the state alone and need the alliance of others, because together, we can make a difference. BTW, I liked how you did not deny the land grabbing ideology and the significant presence of Beroms in Jos North, must be humbling to know that there are Plateau indigines out there who hold on tightly to their history and will defend it against any distortion. |
suleimanshehu:Lmao, from your name, I already deduced where you are going. You clearly have the ideology of stealing people's ancestral homes. By the way, you may as well include Igbos as part of the Indigenous people in Jos, since you have the audacity to include your land-grabbing brothers. FYI, the Beroms are fully inhabited in Jos north, Jos gan gan, Jishe is a Hausa word, I suppose right? Kabong nko? Tudun wada? Dong nko? I won't actually blame you cos you only type what you were told and trying to distort history. The Angwan rogo, that your kind packed themselves in is originally Anaguta land, that was why, during the Jang administration, when he wanted to chase you encroachers, you all started screaming and calling for help from all angles. The Bauchi road, Angwan Rimi, Nasarawa Gwom, etc, that you think you have population is just a tiny part of Jos, you can not claim ownership of it. There are just as many igbos in Jos as Hausa's, yet you will never hear them say they are From Jos, yet, you people will say you are from Jos, make sallah reach now, Kano, Katsina, Bauchi, Sokoto, parks will be filled to the brim with all of you running to your original home to spend time with your family. The issue of reps members is more complex, the other tribes in Jos north simply do not come out to vote when it comes to reps cos they feel it is not important to them, the Hausas hold on to it like their lives depend on it, because truly, it does. That's the only seat they can get close to in Plateau state, and it's all because of Lalong's alliance with the devil. You can never win any chairmanship without his betrayal. In conclusion, if you can include Hausas in Jos North's conversation, you may as well include Igbos, cos they also have a very significant number in Jos north. NB. I prefer to avoid divisive disputes, especially with my fellow Plateau indigenes, whom I deeply cherish. The Plateau people are a united family, stronger and more significant than any settlers or land grabbers. I hold great love and respect for the Anaguta, Afizere, Irigwe, and all other tribes of the Plateau. Together, we stand greater than any opposition..
|
suleimanshehu:Berom is comfortably the biggest tribe in Plateau state; they occupy 4 LGAs, not 3, but even if they occupy 3, have you considered that there are about 54 different indigenous tribes in Plateau state? If one tribe basically owns 3 LGA, that leaves the 53 other tribes to contend with 14 LGA, so how can you say they are not the majority? Remember, Hausa/Fulani has no place in Plateau state, so when they are talking about the state, dem no even be part of the ingredients at all. |
It will be very difficult to wrestle Plateau State out of the hands of Jang. He is a Berom man, his people love him, they are the Majority indigenous tribe, he performed very well in terms of infrastructure in the state during his tenure, to date, no other governor comes close. His alliance with Mutfwang was/is a blessing to the Plateau people, as Mutfwang is also showing 'workings' in the state. Bagos, despite being a Berom man too, is too new to Plateau top politics, and does not have the crowd Jang commands. For the sake of Plateau, i will urge the both parties to bury any grief they have between them, cos plateau people witnessed firsthand what a useless and corrupt administration looks like during the Lalong/APC era in the state and i am 100% sure no one wants to go back there with what they are getting with Mutwang right now. They should never allow APC creep in again. |

Openair:Where is the proof oga? Can't find it anywhere. |
dalongjnr:Did you read the write-up at all? Who is denying the attacks and killings? The write up is not denying the killings and the fulani agenda, the write up is clearing the narrative that plateau people are fearful cowards who allow the Fulani terrorists to claim and rename any lands they want on the lateau, please read and comprehend. |
Moventist:I understand that many fulani dwell in Plateau communities in their numbers, however, the narrative I am trying to clear is that our people have not run away and left those communities for them, they still live in parts of those communities despite the fighting and chaos. The southerners think once fulani attack, the locals will run away and leave their ancestral lands for them, but that's not the case. As for neighboring communities, you will definitely get that considering that Nasarawa and Kaduna have almost entirely been taken over by Hausa/Fulani's. Nobody is doubting their agenda which is to steal the lands, but the narrative out there is that they ransack, take, and rename any community they like, and that's not the case. |
Uchefame: id4sho:Definitely, the aim is to take over the land; however, the narrative out there is that the Fulani/government has taken over these lands already and are renaming it, but that is far from the truth. People whose houses were burnt in this violence still stay in these communities, rebuilding and getting their lives back together, while being more vigilant. Beremx:When he says 'taken over', he doesn't mean these herdsmen now live there as their own, he simply means they attack there every now and then, definitely with the aim to occupy, but the locals there still live there, and nowhere is being renamed. It is impossible for anyone to take over the plateau state, that is why a muslim can never be governor or deputy there. The plateau people guard their lands jealously. id4sho:The Fulani has quite a number there; however, the locals still very much live there. Riyom is being occupied by the Beroms. The fulani tried to change the community name to Mahanga, which is a Hausa word, but that name never stuck. Today, when you go there, the government school there is still called N'omadic Primary School Rafin Acha, Jol Ward Riyom LGA. So if the Fulani has taken control of the place and are renaming it, why then is the School not named Nomadic Primary School Mahanga when it was established? Have you asked who the chairman of the Jol word is? You guessed right, a Berom man named Bature Sati Shuwa, the king of Jol is His Royal Highness Da Thomas Darian Dafwol, so how have they displaced the locals entirely? the locals simply live there with them. |
