Agreed his solutions doesn't make sense to me either. Its cowardly appeasement politics. Nobody obligated to do anything he's requesting but they are expected to live in peace with their neighbors. My solutions are simple. Just let people defend themselves and decentralization of police and prisons. This is a law and order issue caused by criminals they need to be dealt with with force.

1. Liberalize gun laws for expanded ownership
2. Decentralize policing and prisons by simple deleting section it from.
3. States need regulate the activities of herdsmen.
4. Nigeria needs to take border security seriously.

If this is done, I can assure you that in 6 months, there will be no hausa fulani terrorist in Jos again. I have lived almost all of my life in Jos, except for the last 7 years, I still visit jos very very often, I was there few months ago, all my family are there, I am a berom person, from a royal family which if I say here, will be known by many. The simple problem is that HAUSA/FULANI WANTS TO HAVE JOS AS THEIR OWN, BUT THE JOS INDIGENES ARE READY TO DIE FOR THEIR LAND, FORFEITING IT IS NOT EVEN AN OPTION FOR US.

I want to proffer solutions but a lot of people including you won't want to hear it.we are talking of plateau and there are no idp caps there.if you have followed the history of jos crisis, you will see that weapons are not the problem.the fg is even neutral, the past Governor Jonah hang was very biased in favour of his berom people....
In this last crisis, the indigenes attacked first and they were heavily armed so the question of guns and liberalization of gun laws does not arise.we need a political solution...your solution will prolong the crisis

HEADSLAMMING TERRORIST

Everyone knows that the Hausa Fulani areas in Jos are illegally owned, they settled there illegally. Anguwan Rogo, Bauchi Road, Anguwan Rin, etc, are lands of the University Of Jos, the Fulani settlers illegally settled there, that was why when the previous Gov, Jang, decided to start the implementation of the Greater Jos Master plan, there was a lot of trouble as the Hausa's saw it as a plan to chase them out of their illegal settlement. No Fulani person living in those areas can bring a valid/legal document of ownership of any plot of land there, quote me anywhere.

True but there must be a compromise.maybe, they should divide jos north lga

and give it to who? are you joking? you are a fulani terrorist disguising as a jos indigene, no right-thinking jos person will prefer this solution, even along the puppet himself cant even think of this.

Since you said we I'll assume you're from Plateau. How do you feel about his solutions he offered? Is that an acceptable solution to the murders?

why should we divide Jos north? the Berom's Anaguta, etc, have been co-existing in Jos north for long and the seats are rotated and shared, That guy is a fulani Terrorist, he wants us to divide it so our numbers can be reduced so he and his miscreants can come and take over one after the other.

Division of jos north lga or a legal agreement to rotate power there

what are you even saying? is power not rotated there? the problem with jos is hausa fulani, simple.

Politics / Security Operatives Seal Plateau House Of Assembly Complex by Cutezt(m): 2:44pm On Aug 30, 2021
Pressure seems to be building up in Plateau State as security operatives have sealed the State House of Assembly complex.

Speaker of the Assembly, Hon. Abok Ayuba, disclosed this on Monday while appearing as a guest on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily.

Hon Ayuba alleged that the forced closure of the state parliament was the making of the present government, adding that it is unconstitutional to bar legislators from carrying out their legislative duties.

“As I am speaking to you now, the House of Assembly is under siege by the security because we spoke and because we are standing for the people.

“They have sent security there that nobody should go to the House, can you imagine?

“We feel that the Executive are not respecters of the law, they do not respect the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” the lawmaker opined.

This development is coming a few days after the State Assembly put out a statement urging the people of Plateau State to defend themselves against the threats they have faced in recent times.

According to Hon. Ayuba, the call became pertinent because the lawmakers did not believe that the governor was doing enough.

“We are not saying the people should carry arms against anybody, the people should defend themselves, they should carry arms and stay awake and not sleep.

“Plateau people wish the governor would speak for them just as he spoke for the people who were killed in Rukuba road early this month,” the legislator stressed.

He added that “We brought him in to defend the people of Plateau State. We did not say he should defend Mr A and leave Mr. B. He should defend the people of Plateau State.”

The Speaker made his remarks alongside Hon. Bitrus Kaze, who represented the people of Jos South/East Federal Constituency in the National Assembly between 2011 and 2015, and the State Commissioner for Information, Hon. Dan Majang.

In reaction to the said siege of the Assembly, Mr Majang said the move, which is condemnable, could be the work of overzealous security personnel.

He assured that appropriate measures would be taken against such individuals if they acted without proper direction.

Lol, yall just stay in faraway Lagos and think you know Plateau better than those in it. Only about 5% of plateau news gets national attention, most of the happenings are not seen or heard if you are not in the state. The only people who still backs Lalong in the whole of Plateau State are those under his direct payroll and one or 2 ass licking traditional rulers and stooges, Plateau knows no tribe again, they have all united to be plateau before any tribe. Did you hear that they recently inaugurated over 200 state police personelles? No, cos it doesn't get to the mainstream media.

Politics / Plateau Attacks - Man Claims Responsibility For Yelwa Attacks by Cutezt(m): 2:10pm On Aug 27, 2021
A man has come out to claim responsibility for Wednesday's attack in the Yelwa Zangam community of Plateau State in the wee hours of the morning which left over 35 dead.

The man identified as KHALEEL YAHAYA made a comment saying he was in fact part of the attackers. The comment has quickly gone viral among the Jos community with many calling for the arrest of Khaleel.

The comment, which roughly translates to
'' Anyone who says the mother of one will not sleep, his mother will also never sleep.

I swear by Allah since they have decided violence is what they want, that is exactly what they have gotten.

We decided to let peace reign but they decided otherwise, so we too have taken arms.

Yesterday, they planned on attacking us at night, but we got a wind of it and before they came in, we went in and killed them all.

Useless people, useless infidels, hopeless infidels that smells like animals.

From now on, there will be nothing like living in peace, let everyone stay where they are since they have decided to disrespect we Muslims because we decided to be peaceful, we will no longer be peaceful and whoever decides not to fight, let God punish his father.''

Yelwa Zangam community is a community behind University of Jos, and houses a lot of students as well as indigenes of the State. Meanwhile, irate youths yesterday conveyed the bodies of victims of the attacks to the Plateau State House of assembly, as well as the government house where they laid them at the gate, demanding to speak with Governor Simon Lalong who was reportedly sleeping.

In an effort to curb further violence, the governor has imposed a 24-hour curfew in the Jos North Metropolis and a 6 pm to 6 am curfew in Jos South.

In the history of all elections, Buhari has never and will never win in Plateau State, it is an open secret that Buhari and Plateau cant agree when it comes to politics, it is unfortunate that the governor has become the worst thing to ever happen to the state.

University of Jos is now the unsafest school in the entire world, and the governor was busy saying that the people killed left their houses and refused to stay home that was why they were attacked.

Politics / Youths Storm Plateau Assembly, Government House With Corpses (Video) by Cutezt(m): 7:23pm On Aug 25, 2021

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ark7srxPtRk

The city of Jos and its environs experienced palpable tension on Wednesday following the killing of several persons in Yelwa Zangam village in Plateau State.

Vexed by the latest assault which left many others injured on Tuesday night, a group of young persons stormed the Plateau Specialist Hospital where the corpses of victims had been deposited and evacuated them into vans.

They later proceeded with the corpses to the State House of Assembly, blocking all roads leading to the area.

Despite the address by the Speaker of the House who sued for calm, the youths were not satisfied with the response and proceeded to the Government House where the corpses of the victims were laid.

In the meantime, authorities in Plateau have summoned an emergency Security Council meeting presided by the deputy governor, Professor Sonni Tyoden, to discuss the present situation in the state.

A Brutal Attack

Several persons were reportedly killed on Tuesday at Yelwa Zangam in Jos-North Local Government Area. Sources alleged that herdsmen invaded the community at the dead of night, leaving several people – mostly women and children dead.

Many others were injured in the wake of the attack and several houses were burnt.

Channels Television gathered during a visit to the State Specialist Hospital on Wednesday that no fewer than 16 corpses were at the morgue, while the injured were receiving treatment.

According to witnesses, the corpses at the funeral parlour do not include another set of over 15 persons that were burnt in their houses and have yet to be evacuated.

Peace Threatened?
The latest attack tends to add salt to injury and further threatens to cut the brittle thread that currently holds the peace within Plateau State.

It comes just days after Governor Simon Lalong imposed a curfew on Jos North, Bassa, and Jos South Local Government areas following an attack on Rukuba Road in Jos North.

A curfew became imperative after 23 people who were travelling from Bauchi en-route Jos to Ikare in Ondo State were killed and 23 others were left injured.

At noon on Wednesday, the Plateau State Government ordered a reinstatement of the 24-hour curfew earlier relaxed in Jos North Local Government Area.

According to Governor Lalong, the 24-hour curfew will come into force from 4pm on August 25. He said the decision is a proactive one aimed at nipping further attacks and reprisals in the bud.

It is expected that the curfew will also enable security agencies deploy their operatives appropriately to maintain security as the search for the attackers of the villagers continues.

The Governor appealed to the citizens of Jos North to cooperate with the government by abiding by the 24-hour curfew, as security agencies have been mandated to ensure that those who violate the curfew are arrested.

Lalong further noted that the 6pm to 6am curfew in Jos South and Bassa LGAs still remains in place until further notice.

“Only people on essential duties such as health personnel, journalists, fire service and para-military and others, are to be exempted from the curfew but should carry means of identification with them at all times,” the governor stated in a communique.

He called for calm, saying he is seriously grieved by the attacks and sympathises with the victims.

The governor also urged the people to show restraint and allow the government to handle the matter, lest the state experiences an implosion.

Politics / The Governor Is Asleep, Lawmakers Seeking Security Meeting Refused Access To Gov by Cutezt(m): 1:39am On Aug 05, 2021
The lawmaker representing the Irigwe/Rukuba constituency in the state House of Assembly, Mr. Musa Agah, made a shocking revelation following the attack on some villages in a bloody clash between the Fulani herdsmen and Irigwe youths of Bassa local government area of plateau state which left not less than 13 dead, and over 25,000 displaced.

Mr. Agah, who in the company of speaker of Plateau State House of Assembly, Mr. Izam Abok, and other members of the house, visited the governor at the Government House to lament on the incessant security issues and brainstorm on the way forward, However, after waiting for over an hour to meet the governor, they were shocked to be told that the governor, Solomon Lalong was asleep.

The lawmaker made the shocking revelation during an interview on Jay FM.

Meanwhile, state Chairman of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), Mr. Nura Muhammad, has blamed the Irigwe youths for the continued violence in the area.

He said six Fulani also lost their lives during the clash, which according to him the Irigwe youths started, adding that 11 of his people had been hospitalized as a result.

Describing the situation as critical, Muhammad said, “What happened yesterday was that the Irigwe people mobilized their kinsmen and attacked our people in Rafin Bwauna village, a settlement mainly occupied by the Muslims, Hausa and Fulani. We tried as much as possible to inform the security but to no avail.

“We are still compiling the names of those killed, but for now, we lost about six of our people, while 11 persons are in various hospitals.

Reacting to the incident, the lawmaker representing the Irigwe/Rukuba constituency in the state House of Assembly, Mr. Musa Agah described the situation as terrible.

He alleged that the attacks by gunmen were a conspiracy by Fulani herdsmen to exterminate his people from their ancestral lands.

According to Agah, “What is baffling is that these attacks and killings are happening within the community hosting the headquarters of 3rd Armored Division of the Nigerian Army. How do you explain attacks that lasted for over four hours without the presence of any security to stop the gunmen?

“You can imagine the conspiracy as the gunmen eventually killed at least seven persons and set over 200 houses ablaze. We are at the mercy of God. Our people have held several peace meetings with herdsmen but it appears that the meetings were of no use, because each time there is security meeting either at the state or local government level, the next thing you hear is another attack.

“As a member of the Plateau State House of Assembly, I have severally drawn attention of the House to what is happening in my constituency, but our powers have been limited due to the failure of the executive arm to act according.

Meanwhile, a fresh round of violence and gun shuts engulfed the Gada Biu/Polo area of the state yesterday evening following the attacks in the villages.
