Good afternoon everyone.
in the spirit of giving back, I arrived ATL on the 19th of Nov at about 1pm.
No fit to fly was asked at LOS and also in Amsterdam. I travelled at 35 weeks 4 days and I used the wheel chair service. In Amsterderm, I was taken to the lounge cos my layover was 3hrs 45mins. it was very comfy I slept till the wheel chair attendant came to wake me up and took me to the gate. everything was easy and stressfree.
we had an 8hrs 40 mins flght to ATL. KLM was very stingy with water and drinks unlike qatar and turkish airline.
I used the wheel chair service in ATL too in 5mins I was infront of the CBP officer.
He askd what am in the U.S for noting that I was in the U.S in July. I told him that i came in then for holiday with my family but that am here now to have my baby. He looked at me properly and said he did not know I was pregnant. I just smiled.
He asked if I had spoken with any doctor and if I had made arrangements, I told him yes and showed him my appointment letter from the doctor and correspondence from the hospital.
He asked how much cash I had and where I worked and I told him. I asked if I should show him the cash, he said no that he believes me.
He told me he knows the hospital am using and we chatted for a while. he stamped me in for six months and wished ma a safe delivery. he was very friendly.
ATL was breeze but my dried pomo and maggie chicken was siezed at secondary inspection.
Am greatful to God!! |

Gilgil: Thanks, @ ninab, beautyyaddy, jamajoyfulmother and gilgil for taking time to advice.
I will definitely declare childbirth at POE.
Its just that KLM does not request for fit to fly and i dont plan to provide one since its on their website and i have also done my research from this forum.
Its just that the wheelchair my make them start asking questions but based on all the advice i have gotten here, I will use the wheel chair and convince them at the airport that am fit to fly.
Thanks everyone.
I pray POE will be breezee.
Your health should be First priority and so I suggest you use a wheelchair. You would draw attention obviously but that's normal.
We ordered a wheel chair for Air France from Abuja airport at 33 weeks even though we didnt have the pain you complain about.
Tried to get boarding pass online but they only checked us in and said to present the check-in document at the counter. At counter air france ticketer (Naija)asked why we ordered wheel chair and we told him it was for convenience should there be a long queue on transit stops. He asked for doctors approval to fly doc and we showed him. We were.asked to go to port bealth and it was a checked ok and we moved on.
After that, from Abuja to US, nobody even worried about us. Naija didn't even provide wheel chair. It was when we landed ATL that wheel chair was ready for us. That wheel chair was why we didn't miss our connecting flight that day as it seemed the whole world landed at ATL at the same time and we were given prioroty.
Don't know.about your case but you need to live first before any other aspiration.
All the best as you decide |

Good morning house, please I will be travelling to Atl in a week's time at 35 weeks 4days. I need advice from the house. is it ok for me to book wheelchair services or will it create unnecessarry attention at POE and on transit at frankfurt.
The reason I want to opt for the wheel chair service is that for the past 2 weeks I have been having severe pelvic pain especially when standing to walk from one place to another after sitting or lying down. It can be so painful that I might find it difficult to even move my legs for about a minute or so.
Please anyone with this experience that have also travelled should kindly share. I will appreciate your advice too |

davsquared: Chei! U mean am? So what are they refunding u for? Abeg no vex for the cross questions. I am using North side too and i dont mind copying whatever u did that can bring about such refunds. In dis "uko dollar", dat amount is a whole lot! Hello davsquared, I was told the refund was because I gave birth so fast, no ivfs no stress. No blood work. My gyn came in immediately baby was out. The nurses took the delivery. I pray yours will be faster than this in Jesus name. Intact I remember asking my sister how it went on that day. And her response was that she was shocked. That intact I acted like Jackie shan. My sis, its only God that can do this! |

Lajoie33: long post alert
I got into Houston this week. My initial plan was to enter in September, I had already bought ticket sef but we discovered that my child had a tumor... See eh, when something strong happens, you just have to drop everything in God's able hands and start working in harmony with your faith. So I changed my tickets, DH got emergency tickets, we gathered ourselves to Houston. We flew Emirates.
I asked for wheelchair assistance and trust me, that made A HUGE difference especially since my son decided to remain hyperactive and fear did not let me sedate him because of the tumor. Flight was ok but I was tired, my feet was swollen, even with compression socks o. Anyway thats how we landed in Houston. Me, DH and my son (He's a citizen) were rolled to the POE
CBP: Good afternoon Can I have your passports and landing card DH: Good afternoon (hands them over) CBP: What are you here for? DH: My son has a mass on his neck and needs to see a doctor I quickly remind him about me DH: And my wife is hereto deliver our baby. CBP: Ok,put your fingers here... we do CBP: looks at our landing card. Do you have snails? DH: yes we do CBP: Ok you didnt tick here (shows DH where to tick, he does) CBP: You'll have to pass through agriculture on your way out, youre free to go.
I was still waiting for secondary inspection when they wheeled me to baggage collection, I kuku released the lady and helped DH carryour bags to agriculture. They passed our bags thru the x-ray machine and told us to go, nothing was searched or seized. Now were seeing different specialists for my son and Im waiting for my scheduled appointment. God will heal your son. And give you a breakthrough in this trip in Jesus name.Amen. Just be very positive and God will heal your son . people will run around to favour you. |

davsquared: Congrats on d supernatural delivery u had and the testimonies so far. It is d Lord's doing and i claim it also.
The refund you r getting, is it because of the unused epidural? Thanks so much davsquared. Amen! I did not pay for epidural in the first place. Epidural was not included in the hospital bill. The way it works is that you pay the anaesthetics department after you have made use of epidural |

Thanks to everyone that congratulated me or liked my testimony. I have another testimony. Today I got the bill from d hospital. While I was cleaning my eyes to be sure I saw well, a complementary card and a note fell from the envelop.'' Thanks for choosing north side hospital, you have a REFUND of $1,053.'' They said they'll send in d cheque next week. I had a budget of 1300 for epidural but had no time to use it I paid my hospital bill of $3,550 via wire transfer, form A at the rate of 292.5 and am getting a refund now that dollar rate is close to 400. I prayer that all the mama waiting will be highly favoured and deliver healthy babies very easy. In Jesus name. Pls north side mums that used Dr john Thomas, was your initial bill $300 before discount cos I gathered its $115 for the 2 visit in the hospital after discount. |

We set out at 9am on the dot, 30 mins into the ride, the pain hit me like mad. I first removed my shoe and started shouting Jesus. The pain was not here o and the contractions were 5mins apart.Hospital was 20mins away. Immediately I got to d hospital, I began to push. Before I entered labour room, baby's head was out.got to the hospital 9.52 and had my baby 10.02.It was a miraculous birth.no time for epidural.Haaaa!!!!! God is faithful. Baby is healthy. Thanks to God. |

Good morning every one. I arrived Atlanta safely on the 24th of July in the evening.
I flew in with Qatar airway, 7hrs to Doha, 7 hrs layover and 14 hrs from Doha to ATL. In MMA I was asked to go to port health for another fit to fly. even after submission at their office. The nurse wrote 32 weeks instead of 34 which helped in making sure i was not required to provide doctors report again. They collected 2 copies at the airport in MMA, siezed my palm oil and the journey began. In Doha I was asked if I was pregnant and i told them yes and was referred to another immigration]I officer which spent about 8mins asking what am going to do in the us. I told him I was going to have my baby he asked to see my receipts, Docs correspondences and asked how much cash I had with me. We ended up gisting about epidural and why women just like to have kids the easy way. After about 8mins I was on my way with my 8yr old daughter that kept on telling him she does not want to miss her flight.lol we boarded the plain and sat for 14 hrs to ATL, it was a very long flight. food and drinks were flowing and lots of freebies for the kids. when we got to the airport in 10mins i was at immigration desk
officer; what are you here for me; to have my baby, do some shopping for my daughter and visit family officer; how much do u have Me;9k dollars and I have paid my hospital bill, do you want to see the cash officer; no, let me see the proof of payment, when are you due? my daughter asked him where the rest room was and kept on telling me she was pressed and needed to go now me. told him when i was due, handed over the reciepts, tried calming my daughter down officer; i can see you have a hand full. he tried to pronounce her name. stamped us in for 6months and showed us the nearest rest room. all was done in less than 5mins. on our way out we were refered to agricultre where my egusi was siezed. reason was that it was not grinded. in less than 10mins we were on out of the airport.
thanks to Almighty God that made this possible and all the wonderful people that have made this tread very educative and helpful. God bless you all. I intended to move my appointment with dr valisia andrews forward since i came in earlier than planned. mamas using northside hospital and dr. valisia that are already in ATL pls lets hook up
Thanks everyone. |

wow! nice one. mine will be like this in Jesus name. Amen. pls newmomma2be send me a PM lost your mails. newmomma2be: OK, here we go:
After successfully paying North side via Form A, got 2k PTA from gtbank, submitted my medical forms @ Qatar office a week to my travel date. I felt I was ready to travel
Boarded Qatar airways @34 weeks. Wore my compression socks during the flight and walked around. Was lodged at the Airport hotel during the 9hour layover (my room was on point!). Almost overslept but thanks to the wake up call set by reception....hehehehehe.
The flight from Doha to Atlanta was 15 hours long but I was pampered by the cabin crew.
Arrived Atlanta, was on the queue for 35 mins and was interviewed by a middle aged white guy:
Me: Hello CBP: Hello CBP: Where are you coming from? Me: Nigeria CBP: Why are you here in Atlanta? Me: To have my baby! (Smiling hugely) CBP: So have you paid all your hospital bills? Me: Yes but yet to pay the doctor's fee CBP: How much cash do you have on you Me: 2,000usd CBP: He was surprised. So you are only here with doctor's money? Me: of course not. Am with my Master card. I do not like to carry so much cash. CBP: So you came all the way to America just to have your baby? Me: Yes because its my first and I want the best healthcare for both of us. CBP: Do you have any food Me: yes. Garrison, Egusi, bitter kola, kolanut etc
He stamped me in for 6 months and sent me to agriculture. Throughout the encounter, I did not show him any evidence of any kind. The only document I held was my passport and customs declaration form.
At agriculture, no food item was seized. I was specifically asked for gala, garri and egusi. I said no to gala and yes to the others. My bag was opened after it was scanned but nothing was seized.
That's it folks. Chilling with my in laws and eating naija food....hehehe. |

TheLeakyTribe: It is my turn to share my testimony.
My LO was born yesterday 11th May 2016. Some of you would recall how my Dollars were stolen by my help before my trip. I was well prepared to follow it up and post everywhere about it but after my first doctors appointment here, the stolen money was irrelevant to me.
The doctor did a scan and said she found spots on my LO's heart that were indicative of either a hole in the heart or downs syndrome. I began to pray and believe God even though I was very shaken by the news.
Long story short, she arrived yesterday and is completely fine. She followed me straight from the OR to the postpartum recovery room. Join me praise the Lord. I'm one happy mumma. congrats leakytribe. The devil brought out its ugly head but GOD struck it out. Your LO is as a mountain set upon a hill and can never be hidden. God will continue to protect all the LO's in this forum, whether they are still in the womb or already born. great testimony! |

I wanted to ask you about Form A @ Stanbic. I was there yesterday and was asked for 'admission letter' and invoice from the hospital. The staff explained that the admission letter indicates that the hospital has booked you.
I don't have such letter, I only have a price estimate (invoice) from them (North side hospital, Atlanta). Do you have such letter from your hospital or do you think Doctor's appointment letter will suffice?
And no, I didn't get any of your PMs.
