Call them by whatever name you choose, theirs is a 'faction or the main PDP'. I do not love most of our politicians especially those in PDP but I sincerely pray for the survival of the party. The death of PDP will be inimical to survival of democracy in Nigeria as APC will simply cruise to victory unchallenged.
PDP must stay alive to provide viable opposition and at best become an alternative.
Nigerians must have choice |

MaziOmenuko: You see my concern with this charade? It lacks vision, mission and goal! Sounds more like a Lagos edition of Calabar Christmas Carnival. There is no proper communication, no sensitization, lack of zeal, anonymous interest from unknown groups; it just doesn't seem right.
By now there should have been a clear road-map, renown groups and people would be enlisted (not just 2phase and some internet/social-media solidarity tweets), we still don't know how many days the carnival protest would be, we are just hearing the uniform is something green. I am sure we will be getting more tweets hours to the protest on which routes to follow, were to go etc.
I don't think 2phase even has the capacity to lead a nationwide protest! Yes, the reason for protest could be justified, but yet again, if there is no clear-cut objective/plan, you are presenting yourself as a likely shooting practice for the police.
I wont be surprised the likes of Fayose and FFK will be there to hijack the rally from 2phase. Why? 2phase lacks the charisma to lead a nationwide protest.
We need to demand for a responsible govt; we the youths need to take this country out from the hands of these present class of people. We should be discussing about forming a megaparty for the youths, set an age bracket in our party constitution and team up to take back our country before these old men sabotage our future.
#enoughsaid# I am in agreement with you. Rather than demand for the the above, our youths are here calling each other names, stoking ethno-religious fire, being sentimental and supporting corruption, nepotism and impunity. The present crop of youths lack the zeal to follow not to talk of leading. it is unfortunate but our youths rather than challenge the authorities for failure of institutions and lack of infrastructure, our youths are busy stoking the embers of ethnic & religious hatred. check out various social media and read their opinion. if these embers turn to conflagrations, it will consume many irrespective of tribe, religion or natural resources. The politicians with dual citizenship and multiple visa would simply fly out, watch us kill ourselves and come back with their children to continue the pillage. |

occam: Yes, all individuals are entitled to freedom of speech. Likewise inciting violence through hateful words is illegal. I listened and watched that Suleiman's speech; it was filled with pure hate and violence. He should be cautioned and sanctioned for that kind of incendiary statement.
Encouraging your followers on the pulpit to commit violence act is disgraceful. We all need to understand that outcome of any war in Nigeria can be extremely unpredictable and violent. People should stop listening to all these unprincipled Christian leaders. They will all flee to US, Canada or any safe haven if conflict starts and leave their followers to face the consequences.
Nigerians be smart: A lot these religious leaders and their families have visas and permanent residency of western countries. They'll set our country ablaze with violent words and flee when trouble starts. I just wish we all understand that war is an ill wind that blows nobody any good. It is clear that our people have chosen the road to perdition. Drums of war is now heard louder and it seems that the inevitable would happen. May God spare the innocent from the looming blood shed. I am not a prophet of doom but genocide, war, ethnic cleansing or whatever name we may call it is sure if we continue in this part. |

Politics › Re: I Will Make Sure PDP Takes Over Power From Buhari In 2019 – Fayose Vows by cyprex: 10:42am On Jan 20, 2017 |
FACT Most Nigerians are politically neutral. Most Nigerians want a vibrant political environment. Most Nigerians want another strong political party to exist side by side the ruling party. Most Nigerian are presently disenchanted with government at the center. If elections are to hold today, most Nigerians would prefer another party to be at the helm of affairs. Most Nigerians know that it takes a credible, strong and viable political party to wrestle power from the ruling party
It really saddens most neutral Nigerians who are eagerly awaiting a brand new PDP that has what it takes to wrestle power from the center to see that the party they are hoping could be a suitable alternative is continuing in self dilution.
Take it from me, there is no politically neutral Nigeria that is voting based on conscience, patriotism, desire for economic & national growth that will consider a party whose daily image is centered on a Wike and Fayose.
Why is PDP not willing to move away from their past which is marred by thuggery, impunity, imposition and corruption and give Nigerians hope for change for the better? Why would PDP want a Fayose, do they think that any reasonable Nigerian youth would have Fayose as role model? Why PDP, why? Why did you people dash the hope of Nigerians and leave them with no choice but the ruling party.
For PDP to re-brand, it must move its image away from Fayose and Wike, those names repulse sensible Nigerians.
PDP, please do not dash our hopes, we need you not only as credible opposition but also as suitable alternative. |

Worse than its 16years of ruin is PDP's inability to provide viable opposition. Most Nigerians did not support APC because we expected them to wave a magic wand on Nigeria's problems to make them disappear. We rallied behind them to provide Nigerians with an alternative to PDP's misrule. This thy have done. Now that APC is in power I sincerely wish that PDP re-discover itself and provide Nigerians with viable opposition and possible alternative should Nigerians request for change.
I however doubt PDP's ability to be the alternative not less because of its continued internal squabble but more because of the new image of PDP as represented in Fayose and Wike. This new PDP brand seem hardly salable.
Should we say Requiem PDP?
God forbid! we may still need them at least for their opposition value, PDP must not die. |
