Congratulations to you. Would like to know the address you put on your CV. Thanks behati: Hello house, been silently following the thread. So I got PPR last year and did soft landing because I sort of wanted to get a job or at least be in the process of getting one before I move. I got the freetone app, included the number on my CV and applied for jobs. More recently, I started to contact talent attraction managers of the companies I was interested in on LinkedIn, it was hard for me to do but I decided to anyway since the worst I'll get is a "NO". Some didn't respond and I would send reminders after a week or two and I started getting positive replies, emails, phone interviews and video interviews. Summary is i just got a job in Canada right here in Nigeria. Although the job required someone with a CPA designation, i managed to convince them that i had ICAN which would make it easy when i want to obtain a CPA designation.
Just thought to encourage someone to TRY! |

How is work going guys?
I would like to know if one's age is locked in after receiving ITA. For instance, my B-Day is in April, if I receive ITA and do not accept before that day, will I loose 5 marks or my score would remain same because I have received ITA though yet to accept it?
Thank you. |

Sorry, I may have quoted you but my comment wasn't specifically to you. It was just a general one to address the lingering argument. Cheers Tamm: I wasn't speaking to the lady...my post was directed at the person who made a reference to India. Thanks. |
Travel › Re: Living In Canada/Life As A Canadian Immigrant by DadR: 4:51pm On Jan 25, 2018 |
I think we should just let this argument die down as those speaking for and against have only commented based on their perception of the poster's situation. The poster didn't give full details/holistic view of the situation she's facing with her husband and I don't expect her to put up such here, hence, we cannot categorically say what the fear of the husband is. We all look same way but see differently. Let the poster seek God's wisdom in solving immigration issues with her hubby. Ultimately, irrespective of where we all are, HAPPINESS IS KEY! Cheers! Tamm: I disagree with the bolded, or perhaps, I don't understand what you were trying to say. I doubt that I'll find India poorer than Nigeria if I were to conduct a thorough research...maybe it's an assumption you reached based on the country's population.
In the scheme of things and the comity of nations generally, Nigeria cannot be compared to India in anyway. In fact, coming back to the purpose of the thread, can you compare the success of Indians in Canada to that of Nigerians? Do Nigerians qualify or receive as many Highly skilled immigrant visas (e.g Tier 2 for the UK and H1B for the US) as Indians? Is it in terms of their infrastructure and Nigeria's lack thereof? I'll like to understand the basis of your argument as I'm currently working on a life course research paper focused on India, Vietnam and Nigeria...and the findings seem to point in the direction that Nigeria is the 'poorest'.
I think Nigerians need to realise that we are not that great, even in Africa (have you seen the new international airport in Togo being constructed by the Chinese). Only when you admit to having a problem can you begin to proffer or accept suggestions for suitable solutions. If we continue to deceive ourselves that our intent on immigration is solely based on the future of our kids, and not on some deep rooted socioeconomic issues that we currently face or fear may become a problem in the near future, then we may not be planning for an all-round success on the migration journey! That's the difference with Indians; they admit that their country can do little to nothing to help them achieve their goals, and they go abroad to succeed, often moving into the middle class in these developed countries.
Moreover, if anyone who claims to be doing well financially in Nigeria was that concerned about the education of their kids, excellent private education is available in Nigeria (British International School, American international school if you can afford more than $20000 per annum, and so many others). Also, there are many well-to-do Nigerians resident in Nigeria, who send their kids to great private schools (boarding schools at both primary and secondary school level) all over the world.
Apologies for any typos, I was in a hurry! |

@bolded, I think you can evaluate just your ATS with WES. You won't have to supply your B.Sc details while filling the application form. Once your ECA is out, then you can claim points for 2 or more degrees. This is just my opinion, let the gurus also corroborate this. Goodluck PM! JustinTrudeau: Good evening everyone,PM is back again, this time i need your advise
I initially evaluated my results with IQAS and as some of you might know that BC wasted a lot of my time. I didn't know WES evaluates ATS as a diploma not until i got stuck with IQAS I'm presently on 435 Crs score. If i get my ATS evaluated i will have 468 which will guarantee ITA.
Now the question is, can i evaluate just my ATS only with WES and add to my IQAS Bsc evaluation then update my profile as 2 or more certificate or i have to start a whole new evaluation process with WES for my Bsc and ATS. Reason being that i want to avoid the back and forth on Bsc transcript collection and the cost.
Looking at these recent draws ITA is not coming anytime soon and i dont have that luxury of time anymore, just wanna take a radical approach.
Gurus and able citizens kindly advise.
Your PM |

Actually used an agent way back 2016 for the ECA, so both hard and soft copy were delivered to the agent. The person can't be reached at the moment. So am looking for ways to get a soft copy from IQAS. I had mailed them quoting candidate's name and reference no but no feedback from them. barbz06: The soft copy is sent to the email address you registered with so how can it be delivered to someone in Canada? |

Morning Guys,
Please does anyone know how I can get a soft copy of ECA from IQAS without requesting for a duplicate certificate which attracts charges?
I had contacted them through the contact form but no feedback.
Thanks |

Congratulations to you and your family.... Sezbaby: Just to say a big thank you to everyone that contributed to this forum. My family (Husband, wife and child) started this journey in September 2016, and the forum was very instrumental to our success.
To everyone that has just started or is planning to start, please don't waste your money on consultants. Read, Read and again read. All the information you need is here. Join the various whats app groups and in no time, you'll be an expert.
Lastly, to encourage people, see our timeline below

Spend the time reading up on what you need to do post PPR, cos trust me, there is a lot to do if you want to land and integrate easily with minimal disruption to your livelihood and standard of living. Its not about your qualifications or anything but just basic stuff that make things like finding a job easier.
