Babe I no shock rara. cheesy
They can't give her first ten, you know how vegetables are.

Me I couldn't watch all tho, using data to watch. Just some mins clips.

I'm happy for Asuka, but it was too predictable and is the push not too much? Because she'll surely win wrestle mania.

Nkamura won for male.
They will throw her out immediately, and we won't even remember that she came in sef, wwe just dey pity her career, looll grin

Maybe because she is still new, and the hype of her undefeated streak,
Now we are going to be subjected to one boring match on wrestlemaina, because Alexa can't wrestle.

Do you see anyone taking the belt from Alexa before that time? Is there anyone in the women's division that is strong sef?

I want to see Charlotte and asuka wrestle. Charlotte is strong, same as asuka, I want to see if asuka will win, or if Charlotte will end her streak,

And you know Charlotte is a rough hard wrestler. Very strong. And most importantly. Very focused. Like asuka, so distraction cannot work there.

So I want to see her have a real match, I'm tired of a these baby fights were Charlotte and asuka have to hold back because their opponents can't fight.
But Natalya is good.

Push Is much but let's see what they can do with it.
Well, I don't mind that nakamura won.

Celebrities › Re: Dorcas Fapson: You're Spoiling Chances For Ladies Who Experience Rape Or Kidnap by Daeylar(f):
FreshBoiy:

I actually got your point the first time. I knew you were only agreeing with the person you quoted but the way you put it is what I don't agree with. There is a lengthy legal process which can drain the one who is innocent mentally, psychologically and financially to say the least.

Your statement kinda makes it look like determining if someone was falsely accused and sentencing the accuser to jail is a verdict that can be easily reached.

And I agree with every other point you've made.

Nothing wrong with my statement, undecided you guys just decided to read unnecessary meanings into the post.

As simple as that means this is what is supposed to happen, this should be the ideal, I didn't say anything about the length of trial, nothing like that.

Where did you guys now enter the quote to start getting the idea that I was talking about the length or not of the legal process? And what it takes out of a person huh??

It's not on me or my post if people start reading ridiculous meanings into my post.

As for that one, It was just a fool looking for a way to exhibit his madness and in his desperation he thought he had found something he could hang on and then decided to start ranting stupidly.

All right then.

However, this is the problem with many Nigerians. Rather than constructively arguing their point, they would rather insult you to make a counter opinion
You're right. If everybody did that like you did. Nairaland would be better, however we will take the ones who do and ignore the ones who don't.
Celebrities › Re: Dorcas Fapson: You're Spoiling Chances For Ladies Who Experience Rape Or Kidnap by Daeylar(f): 9:45pm On Jan 28, 2018
FreshBoiy:

I want to believe what triggered him to respond to you that way (Which i'm in no way justifying his insults) was because you ended your post with "It should be as simple as that". There is a life to be lived after the court case. Court cases could also take months depriving the young man of a job and a means of livelihood during this period. It's actually complicated when you look at it holistically.

However, this is the problem with many Nigerians. Rather than constructively arguing their point, they would rather insult you to make a counter opinion.

I don't necessarily think enacting a law where it becomes a crime to discriminate against someone who has been cleared of a false rape allegation would be effective. There are laws in advanced countries against racism, antisemitism, discrimination, etc. But in reality what these laws have succeeded in doing is reduce how people openly discriminate and not actually stopped discrimination.

For example if you applied for a Job in an organisation where the hiring manager is "racist", he would't decline your application if you're qualified as that might appear as some form of "discrimination". What he would rather do in the guise of being "non-racist" would be to get back to you after the interview thanking you for your time but stating that unfortunately you didn't meet the requirements for the role.

What I think would be more effective would be for the court to award a large some of money as compensation paid by the plaintiff to the defendant. While the plaintiff also gets jail time. That would serve as a deterrent to anyone before accusing someone falsely of rape or kidnap. But then again there is the element of how much trust can one actually place on our judicial system. Sigh!

However, the sad reality remains it would be extremely difficult to get rid of the stigma that would be attached to the one who has been falsely accused in Nigeria.

I think for you're also missing the point of that, statement as simple as that, I wonder whyhuh huh

Replace that with "agreed" and you'll see that all I did was just to agree with the Guy's statement because I share the same sentiments,
Rape someone. You go to jail,
Falsely accuse someone of rape. You go to jail.
Like I said earlier, it's that simple, there is no excuse.
That statement, was solely to agree with the post of that guy, I wasn't rounding up anything. Just agreed with that post.

I

That's why I said he is foolish and it's even worse because he was off point.

The money should be paid on both sides, those who rape, and those who falsely accuse others of rape,
They should both pay their victims, it should be a given,
Part of what the victims will get.

You're right on the law aspect but at least if someone outrightly disrespects you with the cleared accusations
or discriminates against you to your face, you can sue and the person goes to jail,
It's something at least right?
Maybe we can start from there?

Extremely difficult yes, but at least it's doable, and we can start or attempt to do something, sad
And maybe attempt to change the mentality of the Nigerian people that if someone has been cleared of rape accusations, that means the person is innocent and no one should throw that in his face.
Celebrities › Re: Dorcas Fapson: You're Spoiling Chances For Ladies Who Experience Rape Or Kidnap by Daeylar(f):
FreshBoiy:

You have both made valid points. However I would like to agree and disagree with a few things.

This is where I totally agree with and this is my personal opinion. The fact that someone lies about being raped or kidnapped doesn't reduce the credibility of genuine rape/kidnap cases.

Criminal cases are not subject to "public opinions or polls" which makes this argument about "credibility" void. Everyone has a choice to believe whatever they want to. However, it is up to the legal system to decide based on facts and evidence presented before a Judge if a particular case is genuine or not.

If for example everyone chooses not to believe a genuine rape case, does this therefore mean the police wouldn't investigate? Does it change the dynamics in any way? Absolutely not.

On the flip side this is where I totally agree with [b . For one who is wrongly accused of Rape or Kidnap, there is a stigma automatically attached to the person. Even if his name gets cleared and is published on every newspaper and blog, it wouldn't of necessity take away that stigma especially in a country like Nigeria. People would still refer to him as one who was accused of "rape/kidnap".

He might still struggle to get a job, because some people would still "choose" to believe he is guilty, while others wouldn't want to take the risk of employing someone who has been previously accused of such because of the image it would give the organisation.

Thanks jare.

Exactly you get my point,
however I think they mean because it seems this girl is lying therefore they will disregard every other woman who speaks out about rape or kidnapping, just because this girl is lying,
And that's what I'm vehemently against,
It's a very ridiculous mentality
Like I said and you said also,
Whether they believe or not is immaterial, the case should be judged in court and we should wait for judgement,
Instead of them sitting there saying they will doubt the credibility. They should try as much as possible to make sure rape cases get judged immediately. Whoever is wrong should get a jail term.

That guy that quoted me and started his post by insulting himself is nothing but a fool, he didn't attack the person who made that statement,
He went to attack me just because I agreed,
Why didn't he attack the original poster?? and the most ridiculous part is that he is off point,
The simple point is that people who rape and people who falsely accuse someone of rape should face the same punishment and I agreed,
How does that relate to him ranting about the person's name being cleared and all that?

I don't wasted my time on confused fools,.

Going back to what you said,
Something should be done about that. That isn't right at all,
Maybe a law can be made? If someone is cleared of a false rape accusation, it's becomes a crime to hold it against the person? I don't know but that's just an idea,
Do you have any ideas?

And moreover rape enabling is disgusting and we are all well against that, blaming the victim also is a disgusting act that we all condemn but this mustn't be mistaken with asking the right questions in a bid to scrutinize a case.
And what are these so called right questions you want to ask?

100% agreed
Equal punishment. I agree again
We agree again
All right

johnydon22:
Oh they are believed in most cases, we get to see some of these cases of conviction and even jungle justice on rapist almost daily on Nairaland front page.

Who are they?

No you are not. Simply walk outside, grab any random man and shout he raped you and watch him get mobbed or even lynched to death. People are more likely to believe your story and sympathize with you.

That is just a little demonstration to test the validity of this claim.

Wrong again. Is it not this same Nigeria that we see rapists and alleged rapists almost getting lynched to death, let us not treat this like a one faced knife. It is not.
They are human beings, men and women huh
I know of people being mobbed for kidnapping. Stealing, didn't know about rape,.

Sexual violence is a heinous thing and we must always condemn perpetrators or enablers. Women who label innocent men rapists just because they want to win a disagreement are violent, vile human beings too & we must condemn them too.
No issues with this, agreed

Wrong conception of an argument stemming from hasty conclusion. The post in no way condemns or blames all women, an implication of an action is not condemnation.
from the post
This will be very unfortunate as it will be unfair to actual rape victims.
The post highlighted possible implications of using rape accusations as a weapon to get back at someone
Non sequitor stemming from your own misrepresentation or misunderstanding of the argument
Oh No we don't. There is no right that i have that you don't in the constitution
Again another gross misrepresentation and understanding: highlighting implications of a line of action is not a threat.
If humanity continues making nuclear weapons a time will come when we will destroy civilization. This is not a threat.
Learn the difference between a threat and highlight of possible consequence
You have no idea what it means to threaten someone
Threat undecided
*a statement of an intention to inflict pain, injury, damage, or other hostile action on someone in retribution for something done*

That statement was a threat to women, saying that just because some women did something wrong, there will be a point all of you will be punished by us men, whereby we will disbelieve what you have to say concerning rape,
Ridiculous and highhanded,
There is absolutely no reason for that statement or way of thinking, there is no reason for that to even become so called "implications of a line of action" , absolutely no reason,

What will make it to even become a "possible consequence"? It, as a possible consequence is not going to fall out from the sky, it's people who will think that's a right thing to do that will start it, and that's what I'm against, there is no reason to even think that,

Just because some women have lost their minds, does not mean that you should lump all women together and disbelieve everyone, that shouldn't even be thought of as a so-called possible consequence,

If all women said because some men rape women, it'll get to a point that all women will threat men as rapists,
And with whatever punishments those women deem right,
You all will be quick to point out "it's not all men", "remember your father too, is he a rapist?" and all that,
Which is what I said, there is no reason for that to even be thought of as an implication,

And i said men feel special because you think you can take laws into your own hands and disregard all women speaking out about rape because of a few bad eggs. No care to even make an effort to take the case to the law court, feeling so big to as to say we will disbelieve all women,

So I don't really know where that constitution talk came in from? huh undecided

I'm surprised too. The way he said it as if anybody believes rape victims in the first place or takes them seriously? They even start attacking the victim, why did you go here, why did you wear this, stupid asinine questions that make me feel like slapping hell out of them

A time is coming? Which time? Time we are already living in?

A woman or man who says he or she was raped isn't believed and in some cases is even insulted,

Is it not the same victim blaming Nigeria again? huh

Let everybody tell their story, provide evidence, go to court,
If the guy actually raped the girl then he goes to jail,
It should be taken seriously, any one found guilty should go to jail, I also recommend castration,

If the girl is lying she goes to jail, by the time many fools that will want to try it see the number of people in jail for false rape accusations they'll think twice and also the Man's name must be cleared.

Rape is not a joke nor something to be thrown around when it's not true.

My solution.

And finally, a time should never ever come whereby no one should believe rape accusations. What!!!?

Why is it that any thing stupid some women do is used as ammo to try and attack all women?, What kind of threat is that? No one will believe any woman? undecided

If it's you men they attack with this kind of nonsense, you all will rush to type it's not all men, remember your father and all the rubbish,

Mtchewww, you men feel so special in this country,

Instead of addressing the problem of rape and false accusations of rape and looking for solutions, you're giving ridiculous threats, trash.

Whether you believe or not is not needed, all you need to do is make sure the case is taken to court and make sure the truth comes out,
Whoever is lying should be punished, either the man or woman,

Not sitting there trying to take laws into your own hands, typing ridiculous threats like "it will get to a time no one will believe rape accusations from women".
