PoliticsRe: Should Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala (Now Foreign Minister) Resign? by DaHitler(m): 4:01pm On Jun 22, 2006
Loud ovation, from who? The debt relieve was as a result of begging. It is not something Nigeria deserved. How exactly a nation that is plagued with corruption, political assassinations, and massive scale ethnic oppression can think they deserved debt forgiveness is beyond me.

Well I guess, in her credit, Dear Mrs. Ngozi was able to remain on her knees long enough for the Paris club to feel pity for the poor girl. Good job, Ngozi! You are our National hero. Right? undecided

Now, all we need is for Mrs. Ngozi to get back down on her knees and beg Obj to hold a sovereign national conference. At least then, we will be sure where the nation is going. Maybe appointing her as minister of internal affairs will do the trick!
PoliticsRe: Igbo President: What Will Nigeria Turn Into? by DaHitler(m): 1:51pm On Jun 22, 2006
wiseguy, take your unity and shove it. I don't want it. Defeatist such as yourself have no right to comment on what is in the best interest of the youths, talkless of Nigeria as a whole. And no, I don't celebrate when Kano or any other Nigerian scores a goal. I am much to busy to be bothered with these colonialist pathetic sports.

I want a Yoruba State. I don't want a Ngerian State.
PoliticsRe: Stable Power Before Improved Roads by DaHitler(op): 11:22am On Jun 22, 2006
Yeah, its funny. All I seem to hear is never ending whining about need for new roads. Yep, thats spirity. Make those new roads so that the British and co can flood the economy with their goods. Thats exactly what Nigeria, a country with soaring unemployment, needs at this time.

However, truth be told, building new roads is a nice way to show that you are doing something. Now, ensuring stable power supply is a lot more difficult, but it is what the country needs. Instead, the governors are content with having their little fan fare celebrations at the commencement of newly built roads. Without mentioning to the people that those roads that they are celebrating are actually taken jobs away from the people.

gidig, you are the problem here. These ethnic groups have existed for over a thousand years. Don't expect us to forget our ethnic nation identity because some damn colonialist put us into the abomination they call Nigeria.
PoliticsChief Justice Of Nigeria: Military Incursion Into Politics Was Justified by DaHitler(op): 6:51am On Jun 22, 2006
Abuja — Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Salihu Modibo Alfa Belgore yesterday defended past military incursions into the Nigerian politics, saying virtually all past military rulers who seized power by force in the history of the country came on board to cure dangerous maladies capable of disintegrating the Nigerian nation.

"Yes, they came to cure a malady in our national development: a malady of ineptitude; a malady of corruption; a malady of divisive tendencies and so many others," he explained.
Justice Belgore who singled out former Military President, Gen Ibrahim Babangida for praise yesterday over some of his favourable policies especially to the judiciary while in government also said that there was nothing wrong in a military ruler being dictatorial.

According to him, "every military regime must have some dictatorial tendencies because that is the only way they can be successful."
He said rather than dismissing military rulers as sheer dictators, he said the home-truth must be told that most of the military regimes came to correct some fundamental inadequacies in the nation's development.

Justice Belgore also recalled how the National Judicial Council (NJC) which sanitised the nation's judiciary of its rottenness was established saying it had its origin from the regime of Gen Babangida.

He told a story of how Babangida's administration gave the controversial Mercedez Benz cars to the Supreme Court justices in the presence of the military ruler.

The occasion where Justice Belgore spoke yesterday was the public presentation of two books edited by Justice Niki Tobi while the venue was Yar'adua Centre in Abuja where Gen Babangida himself renewed his bid to contest the 2007 presidential election in the country.

General Babangida who was the Chairman of the occasion was cornered by newsmen yesterday after the book presentation where he debunked speculations that he was out of the 2007 presidential race and said "I am still in the 2007 presidential race."
Justice Belgore had spoken yesterday shortly after Gen Babangida delivered his speech at the occasion where he jokingly described himself as a military dictator.

The CJN in reaction to the joke had said: "our chairman (Gen Babangida) called himself a military dictator. Well, every military regime must have some dictatorial tendencies because that is the only way they can be successful.

"People say they are not allowing human rights, that they suspend the constitution. People look at them and say their coming was illegal. Certainly, commonsense dictates at that time that those portions should be removed.
"If I may ask, were they dictators really? In my view, they came to cure a malady in our national development. Malady of ineptitude, malady of corruption and divisive tendencies and so many other things.
Can you believe that this is the stance of the Chief Justice of Nigeria? Tell that to all the people that got killed for telling the Truth. This justice has crossed the line, and at the very least, he should be forced into retirement. Now, when I said that all Judges that served in Military tribunals should be put on trial and if found guilty of mis-judging, they should be executed by firing squad, I get told how extreme my stance is.

These men are corrupt and they MUST be dealt with. This was the last comment I expected to hear from a chief Justice. Now that we know the views of those whose job it is to uphold justice, maybe it is time to give these Military lovers a little taste of Military justice. angry

PoliticsJustification For Secession by DaHitler(op): 1:58am On Jun 22, 2006
On what grounds are secession justified. I ask this because I see a lot of Nigerians on these boards support territorial integrety at all cost. So, my question to you is, on what grounds is secession justified? And if secession is never justified, then by that reasoning, independence from Britain was not justified either. What are you thoughts on this.
PoliticsNorthern Presidency Bad For Nigerian Unity. by DaHitler(op): 1:51am On Jun 22, 2006
Northern Presidency is bad for Nigerian unity. The bitter taste of the military is still in the mouths of Southern-Nigerians. If you are interested in Nigerian unity, you would oppose a Northern presidency. Remember, Northerners are still regarded with disdain in the Southern States, and 7 years of the retarded Stooge put in place by the North is not going to do anything to change that.

If you want unity in Nigeria, support a south-south or south-east Presidency.
PoliticsRe: How Nigeria Got 'Independence'! by DaHitler(m): 1:34am On Jun 22, 2006
Nigeria does not need a longer colonial period. What Nigeria needs is to be split into 3. A federation for the Western region with additional freedoms granted to the Benin, Urhobo Ishekiri, and Isoko states. A confederation for the Eastern Region that would comprise of a semi-sovereign Ijaw State, Igbo State, Ibibio, Idoma and other ethnic minorities in that region. And lastly, the Northerners can do whatever they like. Heck, they could set themselves on fire for all I care.
PoliticsTerritorial Intergrity At All Cost by DaHitler(op): 10:46pm On Jun 21, 2006
The international community has this idea that the territorial integrity of African countries must be maintained at all cost. Wars in Angola, Liberia, Democratic republic of Congo, and Sudan have been going on for decades, but no one even considers splitting up the territories of the two factions. Most of this battles are being fought along ethnic lines, so if you would simply remove grant sovereignty to the ethnic homeland that is waging the war, problem solved.

So, here a solution for Democratic republic of Congo, instead of pretending that any African ethnic group can ever control land of that size, how about being honest and diving the country into 3-5 nations. Afterall, if you look at the reality on the ground, the smaller African States are doing a lot better than the larger African States. In fact, all Large African States are complete failures with the exception being South-Africa. And since the South-Africans were not in control until a few years ago, that is easy to understand.

I know who he was, and what he preached.

In fact, I even read a lenghty biography on him today morning. Of course, I knew 90 percent of what was said about him before hand, but I found some new information. I still stand by my previous views. Military men are meant to fight wars. Musicians are meant to make music. Political scientist and to a lesser extent, economics are meant to reside in the halls of power.
