PoliticsRe: Creation Of A New Ethnic Group by DaHitler(op): 11:07pm On Jun 09, 2006
Ka, read this link http://www.answers.com/topic/jerry-rawlings

As you can see, there is a time when a system is just too corrupt. At which point, a purge must take place.

If you don't kill of the past and present corrupt politicians/military, that would only be additional incentives for others to be corrupt. After all, if the past politicians/military men stole and got away with it, why can't they? This is similar to the type of madness that leads to mob mentality. All it takes is for one person to cross the line and get away with it, and scores of others would follow.

Had the initial hoodlums that started the first killings in the Sharia riot been killed, the lives of thousand would have been saved. What Nigeria needs is extreme measures that puts an end to corruption. If that means execution of corrupt officials, so be it. If you really think about it, how many Nigerians have died due to malnutrition, preventable and curable disease that would not have occurred if the Government was serving the people as they are supposed to? I would estimate that the number would be in the millions. So, it is only reasonable to advocate the trial and subsequent execution of corrupt politicians/military men in order to save the lives of millions of people. No free ride for corrupt degenerates. Hopefully the next President understands that. And hopefully he is willing to put IBB trial and later execute the degenerate by firing squad.

davidylan, I said this idea was a perfect plan for those that advocate one Nigeria. I am not one of them. Also, lets keep our emotions under control. And yes, religion and ethnicity is a problem in Nigeria.

I can't digest milk. I still take it in small quantities, but too much and I would get stomach ache.

And cashew nuts taste really bad.

You should also try Garri and beans. Not plain boiled beans. But the one that has palm oil and tomato paste (I think) added to it.

FoodRe: Pictures Of Food You Like by DaHitler(m): 9:47pm On Jun 09, 2006
The African store near your house must be loaded. There are only a few hispanic stores around where I live, and with the ingredients you get from there, the food just doesn't taste the same. Also, I make sure my sister does not use any meat products in preparing the dishes so I am not sure if it is even right to call it Nigerian food. smiley

PoliticsRe: Satellite Pictures Of Nigeria Cities( Fraud Population) by DaHitler(m): 9:10pm On Jun 09, 2006
The satellite pictures will take a while to load.

Seun, the author of this thread did not explain exactly what his point was. But, if you look at the thread title, you will see that it has to do with false reporting of population. Also, note, you can estimate the population of a city to a fairly accurate degree by observing satellite images of it. So, he was trying to get the message that the Northern cities are a lot smaller than the southern cities, but the northern States continue to claim numerical superiority.
PoliticsRe: Satellite Pictures Of Nigeria Cities( Fraud Population) by DaHitler(m): 9:03pm On Jun 09, 2006
Seun, yes I did.

It shows the geographical size and shape of the major cities in Nigeria. What exactly is your point?

Cities are major centers of commerce and the most highly populated structures in society. So, if the city population is being artificially inflated or mis-reported, then that is a problem.
PoliticsRe: Satellite Pictures Of Nigeria Cities( Fraud Population) by DaHitler(m): 8:52pm On Jun 09, 2006
Liketoo, excellent post. I have been saying for years now that the population that are shown in estimates and on census of Nigeria are false.

I have no idea what the current census in Nigeria is going to be like, but I assure you that if they report the accurate number there would not be more than 95 million people in country. Heck, thats even a liberal estimate. I would be surprised if Nigeria has more than 80 million people.

Also, you should take a look at the population of neighboring countries and then wonder how is it that a country that is located in the same region as these others is able to project numbers that is completely out of sync with the rest of West African and Central African countries.

I can buy a slight population increase of Nigeria (when compared to other African countries) due to its size, the two rivers that cut through the country, and concentration of major ethnic groups, but that still does not explain how it is that Nigeria, a country that is only 3 times the geographic size of Ghana, is able to produce a population more than 8 times as much (based on the UN estimates that has Nigeria at about 140 million).

My prediction is that the southern region of Nigeria is where the majority of the people are. However, the military government under the Northern dictators would not accept this reality, so they artificially inflated the number of the people in the North. As a result, Nigeria has been reporting false census results ever since the British helped the Northerners rig the 1958 (I think) census so that they could take control of Government.

Here is a link to a website that has the link to the on the record population of each of the States in Nigeria. http://www.nigeriacongress.org/FGN/admin.htm . According to the link Lagos State only has 5.8 million people (Estimates by those in the know have it at well over 10 million) and that places Lagos only 300 thousands people ahead of Kano that is reporting a fictitious 5.5 million people. What sucks more is that these false numbers are used to allocate federal oil money and representation in the National assembly. So, Lagos and many other southern States are being unfairly treated because our country is relying on false numbers.

JosBoy4lif, I am far from materialist. I made the statement about people wanting massive houses and luxury cars because I felt that would be something that even though not everyone could directly relate to, they at the very least would understand why many have a strong desire for those items.

Also, I bet if you were sent back 500 years in time, you will feel that your life sucks. Even if you were an emperor or something. After, laying there for weeks as your body is being destroyed by malaria (with no cure at the time) would definitely put a damper on your happiness.

Again, you proved my point about Ignorance being bliss by pointing most of our happiest moments in life are when we are children.
TravelRe: Nigeria: The Happiest Country In The World! by DaHitler(m): 8:05pm On Jun 09, 2006
JosBoy4lif, no, I do not want to rephrase my sentence.

Think about it, 200 years ago, having a good life and being happy would have meant having enough land to feed yourself. Maybe even having enough yam left over to trade for that leopard skin you always wanted. But fast forward to present, and those things will not a make a person happy. Now, people want luxury cars and massive houses with air conditioner and constant electricity. You see my point, there more you know, the more you have to compare.

Everything in life is relative. So, most Nigerians being ignorant about life outside their borders would make it appear as if their life is fairly decent. While advanced countries like Japan are battling with the highest suicide rate while their country enjoys the second largest economy in the world. The problem being, the Japanese know too much. There is so much that they now desire that they can never be satisfied with their life.

The more you know, the less you enjoy. Hence the reason why many of our best years are during childhood.
