To be honest, I am looking at this from a different perspective. Truly, uneasy lies the head that wears the. Leading a nation like Nigeria is a death sentence to one's name. Followership is as important as leadership. Let's be analytical a little. Looking at the trend of this protest, the governors of various states were even seen protesting with the citizens, Sanwo-olu inclusive. You see them on the streets alongside other people. Oyetola of Osun state almost lost his life in the process. Even the president affirms our right to protest. All these while the security agencies wanted to intervene to stop the prolonged protests, but the leaders refused, because they knew it would be an infringement on our fundamental human rights. Now, hoodlums took over the protest, by burning down police stations & killing people in the process. The governor gave an instruction that a curfew be imposed. Peaceful protesters are suppose to be law abiding, go home considering that hoodlums already hijacked the process. But they rather disobeyed the governors directive & still continued the protest. This protest should have ended after the candlelight procession for the victims of SARS. Please tell me what you expect a true leader to do? When in exercising one's right, you are infringing on the right of another. The government will have to do the needful. Some of us work in disciplined establishments, if our bosses gave us this instruction wouldn't we have obeyed for the fear of not loosing our jobs. We underestimated the government, we felt we had nothing to loose by disobeying. Any good leader will do anything to protect the electorate that brought him to power & that is what Sanwo-olu did in this case. This is just a painful truth. May God help us. Sometimes it is good to know when to say "enough is enough". |

Lisaint:Very true. |
I really felt sad yesterday while passing through Ota. The roads around the area are so deplorable. Look at Lagos-Abeokuta express way, the same thing. The irony is that we had a president from Ogun state, yet the roads in his state is an eyesore. Now juxtapose this with the North. Most of the roads in Atiku's state, Adamawa, are good. I even heard most of the roads in the North are good and they even have better electricity than we southerners. But their contribution to Nigeria's GDP is the lowest, yet they are benefiting the most from our labour. Why was Obasanjo so mean? |
Our star girl! Congratulations.. More wins Erica. ![]() |
Legendary housemates! |
Only God can console you. You need God more than ever. Discuss your situation with your pastor if you are a Christian. Someone in the church might be able to assist you. |
A monumental disgrace, that is who Oyegun is. Not a surprise, I would have been surprised if APC won. |
Happy birthday Linda Ikeji! More wins... ![]() |
Dear OP, I will advise you take the multinational company job. Not just because of the money, the exposure and experience. Another thing is, which of them is aligned to your career. We have a huge challenge of underemployment in Nigeria, so if you have options like this the one that will give you career fulfillment is always better. Also a bird at hand is better than thousands in the bush, take the one you have now. Don't neglect it waiting for the multinational job offer. Finally which is most important, if you are a Christian, seek the counsel of the holy spirit. Let him guide you. Allow him to choose for you. It is the best he will give you. Congratulations & all the best. |
Happy birthday ma'am! Thank you for gracing us with your acting skills. We miss you alot. Congratulations ![]() |
Op, please be patient. I have been through this situation & believe me I understand you perfectly. It is frustrating when you expect him to be supportive, but now antagonizing all the efforts of your mum. We outsiders can only be objective, but you alone know were the shoe is pinching you. I recommend if you are a Christian, pray for him. Help him in searching for a job. Buy him newspapers, just think of something that can keep him busy. He needs love. Sometimes the fear of loosing his family is what can make him react that way. Get closer to him now especially if he wasn't like this before. Please try not to abandon him. Let him still feel he is still the man of the house & nothing has changed that. |
I don't know your faith, but if you are a Christian, please read books, especially godly ones. This will help transform and renew your mind. God heals people from HIV. Don't accept it as your status, fight & defeat that nonsense. |
Congratulations ma'am! I always love seeing women take up leadership roles. You are pretty too. ![]() |
But sincerely, if you check the root cause of most of these challenges, money is the major reason. |
