Designers Dazzle With Creative Concepts, As Distinguished Individuals, Brands Are Honoured At African Fashion Event


Over the years, the fashion and arts industry in Africa has recorded significant excellence with improved international recognition and adoption by several nations across the world. However, it became imminent for fashion and arts brands to be honoured and recognised for their outstanding impacts, as the distinguished African Fashion and Arts Awards holds one of the most colourful award ceremony in Abuja Nigeria, recording several fashion exhibition and entertaining activities.

The well attended occasion was held at Sheraton Hotels and Towers on the 5th of December 2021, where CEOs and Exhibitors of renowned fashion and art Brands where honoured and decorated for their creative contributions to the growth and development of the industry. Amongst the fashion brands, Designers and Individual who were honoured at the prestigious African Fashion and Arts Award are CN Daniels Couture, IMZA; a turkish clothing line, Skyned; a multimedia company supporting creative events, Rekondite Entertainment; an entertainment company with great support for creative young Africans and Mofe Duncan, the Face African Fashion & Arts Award Brand.


Other organizations that was honoured at the AFA Awards also include Alex Reports; Internationally recognized Award winning Media company, Pacific Couture, VZ Creations, Hopez Fashion, Younggod Podcast Presenter, Obitaris and Aoafrik; Designer with collection rich in African prints.


In a media chat with our Correspondent during the award,the Organiser of African Fashion and Arts Awards, Mr. Amako Kingsley expressed overwhelming amusement at the turnout of events. He however congratulated all Award Recipients and encouraged them to remain creative, thereby ensuring the unequivocal progress of African culture through artistic fashions and creative arts. The occasion was powered by Rexenum Consults.


The amazing occasion witnessed the attendance of notable personalities across Nigeria, aoos well as the coverage of several media organizations including TVC News, Tribune News, Viewers TV, AbujaPress, StatePress and amongst others. I Have Forgiven You, Prophet Fufeyin Tells Mathias Ezeaku Who Called Him 'Fake Prophet'

Days after one Mr. Mathias Ezeaku, the founder Igbos Love Themselves Foundation openly and viciously criticized him, calling him "fake prophet" the man of God, Prophet Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin has said he has forgiven Mr. Ezeaku.

In a recent viral video, Mr. Ezeaku had queried why the man of God gives celebrities money instead of healing their ailments, alleging that prophet Fufeyin's power of healing is questionable.

However in response to the malicious and unfounded lie and accusation against him, the man of God who doles out cash to the needy said he does not have the little known Mr. Ezeaku in his mind, urging him not to entertain fear anywhere he is.

Prophet Fufeyin further said he was worried by calls coming in from different individuals and groups, appealing to him to forgive Mr. Ezeaku.

In a video release, the man of God said it has become important to forgive the offending Mr. Ezeaku, noting that he (Fufeyin) is not God but a mortal.

"I want to say that Jeremiah Fufeyin has nothing to do with Mathias. Mathias where ever you are, don't be afraid. I have nothing to do with you. I am a man of God, in the manner that I have to forgive. I have forgiven you from the bottom of my heart" he said.

Quoting from the Holy scriptures, Prophet Fufeyin said forgiveness is divine, adding that it is God's injunction that men should love one another as God has loved them.

He noted he has no power to change what God has directed, maintaining that it is a command he has to obey.

Miss Petra Oluoma Emechebe from Ogboji has emerged the winner of 2021 Miss Orumba Beauty Pageant contest which took place on Saturday December 4, 2021.

The contest which took place at Las Pinas hotel Umunze Anambra State also had as first runner up Miss Egemba Joyce Chibuonu from Eziagu while Nawfija born Nkechinyere Augustina came as the second runner up.

This is even as the leadership of National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN Orumba South and the entire youths of Orumba South local government area of Anambra State have expressed gratitude to individuals and organizations who contributed to the success of the contest.

NYCN in a statement signed by its Coordinator in Orumba South, Comrade Casmir Chibuike Orie said the event was successful, adding that it turned out to be the highest Pageant Competition organised by any local government in the State.

Following the conclusion of the contest, the NYCN further says plans are ongoing to attract endorsement and ambassadorial deals for the royalties.

The event did not end without the recognition of individuals who have invested in tourism and youth development.

They include, the CEO Annestern Farms, Hon. Sir Stan Nnaka, producers of Uncle Stan Rice, Hon. Emmanuel Nwafor Ntu Japan and the CEO Graceland and Home Consult Okechukwu Loveday.

Others are, Chief Philip Okoro (Nwakaibeya) President General of Umunze Development Union, Amb. John Akanyeonu, the CEO De Shield Event, and the Founder David Ewenike Foundation, Amb. David Ewenike, the CEO Prince Onyendozi Foundation, Engr Promise Ike and the CEO Amity Global network, Mr. Alex Nwankwo.

The Coordinator, National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) Orumba South local government area, Comrade Casmir Chibuike Orie noted that the event was aimed at raising modeling talent in young maidens and to help develop them for international standard.

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Margaret-Mary Wilson as the new UnitedHealth Group Chief Medical Officer, effective immediately.

UnitedHealth Group is the largest health insurance company in the United States by net premiums, with market capitalization of over $400.7 billion. In this new position, Dr. Wilson will oversee over 340,000 skilled medical experts, and will lead the company's clinical innovations, focusing particularly on improving health equity.

Dr. Wilson was admitted to the first and the best Medical School in West Africa, The College of Medicine, University of Ibadan, Nigeria in 1977 and graduated in 1983. After Internship and Youth Service, she did post-graduate training in Internal Medicine at the University College Hospital (UCH) Ibadan, from 1985-1990. She continued further training in United Kingdom (1990-96) where she received her MRCP. She moved to the United States to continue her training in Internal Medicine at New York University Downtown Hospital (1997-2000). She joined the faculty at St. Louis University School of Medicine as an Assistant Professor (2000-2005) and as an Associate Professor (2005-2006).

She joined the Gateway Medical Center at Granite City in Illinois as a Physician Advisor (2006-2008). In 2008, she joined the UnitedHealth Group as a Regional Medical Director. Specifically, she focused on inpatient utilization review, quality assurance, and cost-effective resource use. She coached facilities and providers on adherence to evidence-based clinical guidelines to ensure rapid recovery and optimal outcome. Dr. Wilson found she was passionate about the work she was doing. She quickly grew fond of her newfound career and delved deeply into it. To fully expand into this horizon, she enrolled in the Executive MBA (Health management) program at the Western Governors University (2012-2013).

For the next 13 + years at the UnitedHealth Group, Dr. Wilson set her goals high. She spread her wings, aimed for the sky and soared like an eagle. She has been meticulously but pragmatically climbing the corporate ladder. She has a vision for the UnitedHealth Group, which she succinctly summarized here: “At UnitedHealth Group, we recognize that there continues to be opportunity to transform and modernize the health care system. That’s the reason we lean in heavily on sustainability as an extension of our business strategy, our culture, and our mission. Dr. Wilson’s appointment as the head of UnitedHealth Group in USA, is a testament to her brilliance, hard work, diligence, perseverance, and constant zeal for excellence.

Despite dedication to her important work, she also makes time for her family. Dr. Wilson is married to Moji Solar-Wilson, a Nigerian-American New York State licensed real estate broker.

All is now set for African Peace Ambassador Awards 2021 organised by Distinguished Peace Medal Agency.

At this year edition of the annual event, the organisation has identified 20 Africans who have promoted peace and unity in the Continent as deserving of its honour as Peace Ambassadors.

A non-governmental organisation, Jennifer Ephraim Foundation has been awarded the Girl Child Impact NGO of the year by Africa Royalty Awards held at National Merit House, Abuja.

This is in recognition of the significant efforts the organisation has made in affecting the life of the Nigerian girl child especially in education.

Ex-beauty queen, Jennifer Ephraim who is the founder of the NGO expressed gratitude for the award, assuring that the organisation will do its best in building hope for the girl child in the country.

She also recently bagged The Beauty Queen hall of fame held at Oriental Hotel, Lagos.

She recently launched her book titled the “Dilemma of Nigeria Girl Child”which she dedicated to various ill-treatments meted to Nigerian girl child ranging from early marriage to lack of proper education among others.

While reviewing the book, a former Kwara State governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed highlighted the problems confronting the Nigerian girl child and the role of government in helping to tackle them.

He also commended the ex-beauty queen for the laudable initiative, promising, however, to support the project and ensure that the book is made available to all the girl child across the country.
