They're trying to make a truck look like a car and vice versa. If dem wan move market, all they need is a Ridgeline Type R, the Nurburgring and, voila! ![]() |
Readonee35L:Why do you think the Nissan GTR handles as well as (or even better than) some purportedly highly-placed supercars? |
EgunMogaji:Which Subaru(s) exactly? Porsches may be beyond my [pocket] reach. |
EgunMogaji:Please sir, quick questions. Which has a stronger transaxle: T1, T2 or T3? And what's its max torque rating? Thank you. |
PaperLace:Well, they recalled before any incident, unlike Toyota. Masters of safety.
|
Juni4jay:Get the owner's, service & repair manual for your car and follow the instructions to the letter. Get an OBDII scanner. Join a car forum that deals with your model. |
gmajor10:Well, the child was hers, but that's not the point. The accident wasn't severe enough to activate the airbag, yet it exploded. |
Of course, they had to do it in the wet. |
THIS IS A SAFETY ALERT! About 4 years ago, a 6-year-old girl was killed in Asaba by an exploding airbag in a fender-bender. This Takata airbag defect affects LOTS of cars, from Acura to Lexus, Audi , Mazda, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Chrysler (includes Dodge, Jeep), Mitsubishi, Ferrari, Nissan, Ford/Lincoln, Subaru, General Motors (includes Pontiac, Saab), Tesla, Honda, Toyota/Scion, Infiniti, Volkswagen, Jaguar/Land Rover. Cars at the highest risk of explosions are older cars located in regions of high temperature & high humidity (Nigeria being a very typical example). Please CHECK HERE to see if your car is affected. There's also a VIN-lookup tool to enter your VIN & know if your car has been recalled. There are also other Safety Recalls of equal importance we should check out. For more safety tips, visit NHTSA.gov |

So, the Bugatti killer wants to become the Hammond killer? |
shockwave:Including the damaged tyre? |
It would be wonderful if this thread could be made sticky. A lot of people could be looking for a fun project car or one to source parts from. For those interested, some good places to find beautiful classics are old Federal & state universities and old residential estates. |

obekediamondfuto:What's your recommended tyre air pressure? [Check the door pillar] Are they over-inflated? What's your recommended tyre size for your car? [Check pillar or car manual or google] Are your present tyres same size as the previous ones? Is the left tyre same size as the right? Are they very low profile tyres? |
Is your car accidented? 1. Check your bulkhead, firewall & floorpan if they are firm and see if all your OE sound deadening is in place. 2. Check all your suspension components and ensure they are OE non-sporty type & intact. 3. Check if your exhaust is properly secured with OE mounts/hangers. 4. If your car is body-on-frame, check if the frame rubber mounts/bushings are intact. 5. Check if all fixtures are firm - fenders, bumpers, lights, trims, rocker panels, running boards, side mirrors, doors, windows & windshields etc. In short, check if your car is firm. ![]() |
Peace! Peace be unto this house. (Mammiri di n'elu ulo nke a! )obafemee80:Did you know that Ford is doing away with their big displacement petrol engines & replacing them with small turbocharged ones? How do you think most hypercars & those powerful sleeper cars get more than a thousand horsepower? Turbos, of course. The point of this whole bashing is that you should research before posting, not copy one website & post here. People come to this forum for knowledge, so don't mislead them, please. |

W460 230/280GE 5.0/5.6 AMG. AMG did a very limited run of putting the 5.0L or 5.6L M117 V8 into a Galendewagen. This particular "Frankenwagen" is something to behold. https://s3.wheelsage.org/format/picture/picture-gallery-full/m/mercedes-benz/amg_280_ge_5.6/amg_280_ge_5.6.jpg https://s3.wheelsage.org/format/picture/picture-gallery-full/a/amg/mercedes-benz/230_ge_5.6/amg_230_ge_5.6_2.jpg https://i0.wp.com/avtoreyd.az/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/Very-rare-1979-Mercedes-AMG-280-GE-5.6-Sport-G-Wagen.jpg?ssl=1 |
Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) AMGs! Strange, isn't it? Before AMG wedded Daimler AG, it was having affairs with others, and these are some of such out-of-wedlock children: The Mitsubishi S10 Debonair V3000 Royal received mostly cosmetic facelift. https://weekendoctane.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/mitsubishi_amg_09-768x563.jpg https://s3.wheelsage.org/format/picture/picture-gallery-full/a/amg/mitsubishi/debonair_v3000_royal/mitsubishi_debonair_v3000_royal_amg_3.jpg https://s3.wheelsage.org/format/picture/picture-gallery-full/a/amg/mitsubishi/debonair_v3000_royal/mitsubishi_debonair_v3000_royal_amg_6.jpg *In the Mitsubishi Galant GTi-16v, AMG upped power of the naturally aspirated I4 from 140hp to 168hp, with aggressive body kits, alloy rims, leather & whatnot. However, this was a rare case of an AMG being less powerful than the regular production car, as the VR4 version had upwards of 200hp. https://weekendoctane.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/mitsubishi_amg_brochure-768x614.jpg https://weekendoctane.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/mitsubishi_amg_08.jpg *Mercedes-Benz of South Africa sold the Honda Civic saloon as the Ballade. They built an AMG version which featured a performance exhaust system, Remotec wheels and AMG trim. https://www.thedrive.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/06/honda-amg-ballade-civic-scaled.jpg?strip=all&quality=85 https://www.thedrive.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/23/amg2.jpeg?strip=all&quality=85 |
W140 S73 AMG T Kombi. Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah of Brunei Darussalam, known for his exotic & eccentric collection of over 7000 cars worth more than $300million, decided to buy an S-class. But not just any S-class, as you might've guessed. So he called AMG. Remember that 7.3L engine we just talked about? Yeah, well, he told them he wanted it in his S-class ...in station wagon guise! Loyal AMG obeyed and did just that, but not once, ...FIFTEEN TIMES! They upped the power to 565hp (421kW) as well as other custom accessories. The Sultan ended up taking only ten instead. https://paultan.org/images.paultan.org/images/S73.jpg |
R129 500SL-6.0/SL60/SL70/SL73 Prior to '92, MB's flagship roadster was the 500SL with the 5.0L M119 V8. AMG made it 6.0L to put out 376hp (280kW). After Daimler AG acquired AMG, they continued as the SL60 AMG. Later on, MB introduced the SL600 6.0L M120 V12, and AMG just had to have a go again. It came in two guises: SL70 (489hp/365kW) & the SL73 (518hp/386kW). The 7.3L engine would later be used by Pagani in the Zonda. In its last run, AMG put in the 5.4L M113 V8 to create the SL55 AMG, churning out 349hp (260kW). https://www.benzworld.org/forums/attachments/r129-sl-class/294163d1267665700-2010-newest-style-single-blade-r129-custom-sl.front-thailand-mb-club.jpg https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Cw5wZ4XUUAAXhC-.jpg https://img.mbtrunk.com/full/6ccc015ddc101a78-mercedes-benz-sl-73-amg-r129-o-roadster-que-emprestou-o-motor.jpg |
W202 C55 AMG Many of us may have heard of the C36 AMG (3.6L M104 I6, 280hp/209kW) and even the C43 AMG (4.3L M113 V8, 306hp/228kW), but very few know that the W202 got to have a C55 AMG. But first, you had to buy a C43, take it back to AMG & get a bored-out 5.5L M113 V8 producing 350hp (260kW). https://mbworld.org/forums/attachments/c36-amg-c43-amg-w202/290345-w202-amg-picture-thread-0.5.jpg |
W201 190E 3.2-12V AMG We all know of the homologation 2.3-16s & 2.5-16s, but little was known of this. AMG took the 190E 2.6L M103 I6 engine and bored it to 3.2L to produce 234bhp (174kW), with a manual transmission. https://a.d-cd.net/c1f602cs-960.jpg https://photos.smugmug.com/Photography/Motor-Vehicles/Mercedes-Benz-190e-32-AMG/i-TXqDWQb/2/fa9d7dde/L/AMG%20190e%203.2-25-L.jpg |
W123 280E AMG Yes! Our very own "regular" benz was made irregular by AMG. It had the 2.8L M110 I6 fettled by those nutters to give 209hp (156kW). This car could go from 0-100km/h in 8.9s, respectable in the 80s. Did I mention that it was also manual? Sweet! https://s3.wheelsage.org/format/picture/picture-gallery-full/a/amg/mercedes-benz/280_e/amg_280_e_2.jpg https://s3.wheelsage.org/format/picture/picture-gallery-full/a/amg/mercedes-benz/280_te/amg_280_te.jpg They also dropped their 5.0L M117 V8 into them. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CqIj8BZXEAAeaDP.jpg https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CwL4SyDUIAA5dMU.jpg |
Other W124s include: 300E-3.4 AMG with a 3.4L M104 I6 good for 268hp (200kW). E36 AMG with a 3.6L M104 I6 good for 280hp (210kW). E500-6.0/E60 AMG with a 6.0L M119 V8 good for 381hp (284kW). https://s3.wheelsage.org/format/picture/picture-gallery/a/amg/mercedes-benz/300_ce_3.4_cabriolet/amg_300_ce_3.4_cabriolet_00c5007d0c2008e9.jpg https://s3.wheelsage.org/format/picture/picture-gallery-full/a/amg/mercedes-benz/300_e_6.0_hammer_us-spec/amg_300_e_6.0_hammer_us-spec_2.jpg |
AMG 6.0L M117 V8 The same 5.6L M117 V8 engine was bored out to 6.0L to give 360hp-385hp (268kW-287kW) and was used in the W124 300E-6.0 AMG "Hammer" & the W126 560SEC-6.0 "Widebody". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2MzqNn8kJqQ https://s3.wheelsage.org/format/picture/picture-gallery-full/a/amg/mercedes-benz/300_te_6.0/amg_mercedes-benz_300_te_6.0_4.jpg https://mercedesblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/Mercedes-560-SEC-AMG-6.0-1-1140x677.jpg |
AMG 5.5L M117 V8 This engine came stock with 295hp (220kW) & was used in the R107 560SL & the W126 560 SE/SEL/SEC. AMG tuned it to give up to 355hp (265kW). https://www.classicdriver.com/sites/default/files/article_images/_dsc6956.jpg https://www.carscoops.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/1989-Mercedes-Benz-560-SEL-AMG-6.0-1.jpg
