My brother I was PMB fan prior to 2019. But honestly, he has disappointed most people. Even though I don't support the OP choice of word but if someone has told me he had a dream that Buhari will be a president that police will be this ineptitude and corrupt like this under his administration, I will ask the person to go to bed again. How can you explain what's happening under his administration? It's beyond comprehension. The service chiefs have failed and he admitted but yet they might remain till 2023.

The high increase in this pandemic can be trace to the fact that police were culpable. They allow people to travel as they like as long as they sort. At times ask if the police and their family member are immune to the virus. Human being any where in the world are naturally disobedient but it's the law enforcement agent that make the difference. Under PMB watch, all the security agencies are performing far below normal

My question exactly. I'm not rooting for Osinbajo in particular but we all can relate that the resemblance of positive movement will have witnessed in the past 5years under this current administration is usually when Osinbajo acted as president in the absence of PMB. Pls note, I have nothing against PMB as I matter of fact I supported him in 2015 but I have came to a conclusion before 2019 election that PMB is better as an EFCC chairman not as president. His leadership style can't move this nation to a desire destination.

We have another opportunity in 2023, we can opt for someone like Osinbajo irrespective either is Yoruba or Ibo. But I'm not in support of Atiku and I'm not apologetic about it considering his pedigree

PoliticsRe: 2023: Tinubu Vs Atiku, Who Can Make A Better Nigeria President? by Dakad: 12:00pm On Jun 21, 2020
Nigerians are the Nigeria problem not necessarily the politicians. Why these two people in the first place. And mind you, if care isn't taking and we don't change the narrative, one of these two people will be president come 2023.

We can only make major progress in this country when we think outside the box and willing to dare the unthinkable. Honestly we need unlikely president in this country for us to experience what good leadership is all about. Enough of these same crop of people and yet we aren't making much progress as a country if we are even making any at all. These are the people who directly or indirectly have been running the affair of this nation for over 20years now and yet we can't boost of

*resemblance of good power supply

*something that look like good roads

*our education system and structure is getting worst

*No single refinery is working

*unemployment is rising on a daily basis

*Poverty level in the country is scary

The list is endless and yet come 2023, one person from these corrupt tested politicians will still take over from wherever PMB push the wheel backward to.
Nigerian let's wake up especially the youth. Let's stop this our myopic mindset of major in minor and minor in major, I see the youth focus more on unnecessary discussion about Ibo, Yoruba or Hausa online war. Tribe is not our problem it's a narrative these same corrupt politicians are selling to the youth to keep distracting us. Let's wake up and try strange alternative and even if we still don't get it right, we be satisfied that we have tried. Americans change the narrative by voting for Trump, France take the bull by the horn by voting Macron. We can try something new. This is a wake up call for all the reasonable Nigerian out there. Stop killing yourself protecting these useless politicians
PoliticsRe: Rivers Locks Down Bonny LGA And Onne Community by Dakad: 10:52pm On Jun 20, 2020
Even though the people have their share of the blame, but, the pattern of Wike's lockdown was very unreasonable. If you live in PH, you will understand better. He gave impression that the first lockdown in PH is indefinite and people threw caution into the air just to stock their houses and in less than 5days, he relaxed the curfew. Don't get me wrong, the governor had good intentions but he was too political with his actions. He was more fighting people for disobedient to his executive order rather than fighting the virus.

I can tell you for free that without lockdown in PH, all he would have done was to channelled a those his efforts to the borders and give the useless police officers bumper to bumper to ensure no much entry. We wouldn't have been where we are in the state. Cross Rivers channelled his efforts to the borders and make sure the fight is less political and they are able to still sustain their status of COVID free. Even other states that started with scary figures are now babies compared to Rivers. That showed that the fight wasn't properly channelled at the initial stage

PoliticsRe: Rivers Locks Down Bonny LGA And Onne Community by Dakad: 10:39pm On Jun 20, 2020
My able governor had good intension at the early stage of this virus in Rivers. However, his approach was totally wrong and that's what led to rise case. He started fighting with people instead of the virus and politicised the fight against COVID-19. Some of governor Wike's die harder fan will not agree with this but that's the pure truth.

My beloved Rivers was just below 20 reported cases of COVID-19 when ill advised pattern of lockdown was imposed in PH. Governor Wike imposed one of the irresponsible lockdown in PH if I may have that term. I tagged it irresponsible and without proper consultation with experts because, he gave an impression that the first lockdown is indefinite and the rational thinking people were running from pillar to post to prepare for the lockdown but in just 4/5 days into the lockdown without any reasonable reason, he relaxed with impression to allow people to restock and gave 2days and what happened? People throw caution into the air and started crowding everywhere just to buy stuff. I know some family that bought 30 loaves of bread. And all of the sudden just at the die minutes, he extended the relaxation for 3 more days. Then after just 3days into the lockdown, he finally open up everywhere. My wife is into food and the, I can categorically say that people were practically on top of each other during the
lockdown purchase

Now, it's logical to conclude that all those irresponsible pattern of lockdown made the asymptomatic carriers to be spreading the virus. Those states that attempted to do something that resemble lockdown even though I didn't support lockdown without reasonable palliative were able to curb the spread. It's logical that the incubation period of this virus is 14days, what a government that consult experts ought to have done was to impose minimum of 14days lockdown if any at all.

Rivers is now in no 4 on the table overtaken states like Ogun, Edo, Osun, Kano etc who tried to imposed minimum of 14days lockdown. Even Osun with 20 cases in a day at the initial stage of this pandemic is still below 100 cases if I'm not mistaken. It's obvious that the fight against the COVID-19 by Wike wasn't properly channelled. Before you come to persecute me I'm a stakeholder in Rivers whose business is adversely affected by this pandemic. And what all must be doing is to collectively see how this pandemic will be adequately handled by government at all level to ensure the negative impact is minimise and lives are preserved.

I love my governor zeal and passion but he didn't approach the fight against this pandemic with proper consultation with experts rather he was more interested in the political fight but unfortunately the virus doesn't not know political coloration. I'm sure we are coming out of this pandemic stronger by God's grace

I'm just checking the result now unlike before that the first thing I do is to check update with hope to see reduced figure and expectation that my beloved Rivers will not be listed. Honestly, you said it all. And the problem continue as most Nigerian youth are so myopic by major in the minor and minor in the major. We set Twitter and social media of fire for things that don't affect us and move us forward in anyway. We buy into the religion, ethnicity sentiment these crop leader sold just to continue to perpetrate their evil plan. You can't imaging that majority of educated youth in Nigeria still believed the PMB we have now is whatever from Sudan. We have allow the divide and rule to so much penetrate into our system.

We will only get it right when we wake up and focus on the manor thing especially while choosing our leaders

KingofHearts:
My dear, the situation is beyond the president. We are all part of the problem but we find it very easy to blame whoever is at the top without looking at the mirror. No young person in his or her right senses with a desire to see Nigeria great will and should vote for any of the current leaders, their advisers, mentees, children and anyone related to them by blood, bone, hair, air or water!

Aside from that, the truth is the power to transform and change Nigeria is in the hands of the youth.Lack of understanding, diverse interest, messages and tales of hatred passed down from generations within regions and the love for quick money is what is holding the youth behind. The academic intelligence is available, technological know how is available, strength and power to hustle is available, natural resources is available;we only need to wake up!
Non of these old guys will leave the stage for you, nobody will hand over an "oil well" to twitter gangs. These people sacrifice their loved ones(some children, some wives),their properties and even took loans...they take heavy risks, some never bounce back again!.When you collect bribe to vote ,it is out of these sacrifices that they give.
We young people cannot take bribe during elections or vote for YAM eaters and be asking for the YAM handed over or good road and electricity after collecting 10k.
We must be responsible enough to tell our children ,born and unborn about how we also contributed to the rot and promise them that we will get up and fight for them by collectively working together to take over intelligently and strategically from today!
PoliticsRe: Five Years Of Buhari Is A Waste - Uche Secondus by Dakad: 10:17pm On May 29, 2020
Honestly PMB five years isn't in anyway different from PDP years in the helm of affair. PDP or APC None of them has done any meaningful thing in Nigeria. Despite all efforts from 1999 till date we haven't been able to solve our power problem, we still import fuel, majority of what we consume as food are still imported, our education sector still in shambles, health sector nothing to write home about which is evident in this COVID-19 pandemic

In my own assessment PMB raised Nigerian hope and so far he hasn't been able to deliver to expectations. People is expectation was so high and so gar he has dashed hopes of most Nigeria as there is no different from the PDP way. At the same time PDP 16years was a waste also bcs we even had oil boom during their tenure and nothing meaningful was done in the area of power or at least to make our refinery work but they wasted the resources. They couldn't make any remarkable achievement either.

To me, we need new crop of people to lead Nigeria as APC and PDP are same. However, it's so sad that we Nigerian aren't ready to take our destiny into our hands and still prefer the devils you know it's better than angel you don't know. Come 2023, same set of people will still be in the helm of affair and same thing continues
EducationRe: Don’t Reopen Schools Now, Lagos Parents Tell Govt by Dakad: 9:59pm On May 28, 2020
In as much I believe education is the bedrock of any development. However, I'm of the opinion that alot more still need to be done by the government before opening the school. One of the major condition that should be met before opening the school especially the primary and secondary is decline in the number of the confirmed cases. And for Nigeria with increasing cases despite the minute percentage of the total population tested so far and even the Minister of Health is already saying we are already overwhelmed with just below 10,000 confirmed cases is a clear evidence that as a country we can't afford to open all the schools particularly the elementary and secondary schools. This is a country where most of the public schools lack basic amenities as simple as running water, functional toilets and over crowded classes. We need to get our priorities right as a country. I know the value of education as I'm in the sector but our health facilities can't handle major outbreaks

My humble recommendation for the government is to first continue to work harder to do more tests, continue to improve the medical facilities and open more treatments and isolation centers. And more importantly open up the economy. People sources of income are badly affected. It's only few percentage of the population that aren't affected by this unexpected pandemic. Even if you open schools, majority of the private schools need money to effectively run the school especially with all the necessary measures that must be put in place. Moreover the money will come from school fees and majority of the parents will not be able to meet up the bills as nobody envisage this crisis.

Therefore, it advisable for government to open economy first, ensure the confirmed cases decline and put the necessary mowing the public schools so that all the necessary protocol to curb the further spread of this virus is put in place. They shouldn't be in a hurry to open the school. If possible let only those in exam classes (JSS3 and SS3) open this term and adopt the Ghana approach that the third term of the session be scrapped to resume fullest September. But in the mean time government can adopt such as radio and TV education for the public while the private schools who can afford online learning do their bit at moderate rate all in the bid to ensure our pupils and students are in tune with learning.

This man must be a joker. He's a very confused man. While toiling with peoples life and emotion. What's the need for close down in the first place? Wat have we achieved so far with the recent closed down. Though Wike might have his good intension but I'm begging to suspect he even want this virus to spread fast in the state with this his counter productive approach.

It's such a shame that from top to the bottom, we don't have a single leader in the hem of affair this country. All we have are bunch of joker. It's such a shame

What's the essence of this on and off lockdown. This type of lockdown without aim and objective is tiring for Christ sake. One can barely plan his life in PH especially some of us that run business. You know we have blind supporters of these politicians. I know they will ask for my head for saying the honest truth. The truth is that the hardship doesn't know either you are PDP or APC supporter.

In as much I never support the lockdown in the first place especially knowing fully well that they wouldn't do aggressive testing or decontamination to justify the lockdown. However, i believe the relaxation is so early. What he claimed he was trying to curb the spread might even achieve the exact opposite with another round of panic buying of unavailable goods in the next 2days.

These people don't think before taking any action. I gave up on Nigerian leaders, Wike in particular

AceRoot:
Good morning. If you know how many people will hate you for saying what you just said, you'd shiver. All those who love to hear the news of the Governor blocking Aba-PH road even without understanding the full intent. Those are the same people who love to say Aba has nothing and how PH doesn't need anything from there, forgetting that that corridor, in my opinion is like the 3rd or 4th most important corridor in this country. The trade and carriage along this 50 km is so understated, and any meddling is disastrous.

I feel that the Governor will ease this pressure soonest, for that gate is for something else, as you are about to find out. Peace!!

I'm not a fan of PMB, but I'm sure he wouldn't even do that to opposition state. I remembered vividly when Wike dissolved the Local government chairmen elected by Amaechi, i was so convinced then that PMB will use force to ensure the dissolution dididn't stand. However, PMB disappointed most of us and did nothing. So he wouldn't do such obvious act of disgrace by sending NCDC with soldier to cause havoc in a state.

It take a personality like PMB for Wike to enter Naval base with police to arrest some pilots. I'm sure he wouldn't dare with personality like OBJ

PoliticsRe: Governor Wike Announces Temporary Lifting Of Lockdown For Residents To Restock by Dakad: 6:55am On May 11, 2020
Where will the foodstuff to restock come from. My wife is into foodstuff and groceries, the shop was emptied as at last week Wednesday same for most stores and supermarket. This governor is just creating unnecessary hardship for the people. Rivers state only produce garri as acknowledged in several occasions by the governor and as at last week a rubber of garri was 1,200 - 1,500. Most of the supermarket gets their stuff from Aba and the guy erected permanent gate on Aba road. I don't understand how these useless leader think.

All they know is to cause unnecessary hardship for the citizen they claim they are protecting. I can't just imaging the rush and panic buying of unavailable goods these 2days and if care isn't taking the virus will further spread beyond measure.

Honestly as for Nigeria government and more especially Wike of Rivers state, I give up
PoliticsRe: What Could Be Wike’s Ulterior Motives For The Lockdown by Dakad: 12:21pm On May 08, 2020
My point exactly. Let's all play our little role to ensure this pandemic isn't out of hand. It's a known fact that we don't have government in Nigeria from Federal to nonexistent local government. We can't handle major outbreak. Let's endure this little pain of hunger and inconveniences. And for as many who have the means let's help the less privilege within our neighborhood not necessarily the online beggar

PoliticsRe: What Could Be Wike’s Ulterior Motives For The Lockdown by Dakad: 12:16pm On May 08, 2020
I agreed totally with you. I'm a resident of PH. If you noticed the previous selective lockdown especially the Rumuomasi axis was basically targeted to reduce the spread based on the confirmed cases around that area. And this total lock down of PH to me is for people to self isolate incase of any exposure.

My challenge with Wike or any other governor or president declaring lock down here and there without conscious testing is half hazard approach. I would have love he uses this period of lockdown to implement what the Rivers State COVID-19 taskforce earlier proposed of visiting the hospitals to conduct random testing. With this, if any case is confirmed within this lockdown, effective contact tracing will help to minimize the spread.

We should not forget, if what we heard about majority of the covid-19 patients been asymptomatic, if nothing is done to discover any carrier during the lockdown, the consequence thereafter will be dangerous. I trust us when the lockdown is lifted, lots of people will throw caution to the air and the spread might be much. Even from my observation of the two days to the lockdown in PH, is so saddened that the rush made majority to threw caution to the air.

My point is that this lockdown will be more effective if effective testing is carried out especially by starting with the hospitals as earlier proposed.

Let's also try for some that have the capacity to help the less privileges around us not necessarily the online beggers but those living around us. This will ease the burden of lockdown on majority and together we defeat this virus by the grace of God

Taich:
The story of Rivers State is open if you have a neutral mind. The two LGA under lockdown are where u may consider to be called Portharcourt, over 95% of the companies in Rivers State and their workers live in this place, all the cases of Covid 19 were recorded there. So it makes sense to isolate this places properly not like what was observed in some parts of Lagos and Ogun were people were moving about during lockdown. Lockdown if done properly, we can beat this virus by simply quarantining and isolating those that are infected.

There is no motive here, all I see is a gateman (Wike) working hard to keep his home safe.

Honestly, oga Wike advisers are so dumb or probably the guy doesn't listen to advice. Just to reinstate my consistent stand regarding this lock down here and there, I don't have any issue with it. However, his approach is so cruel and not considerate. How could a governor announce total lock down in some area and give less than 24 hours notice. He announced lock down in the evening and take effect from the following morning. Who does that. How do you expect people to stock up their home. I know people who are confused now because they don't plan for such short notice. Wike needs to be considerate. Ogun state governor pleaded with PMB to give his people few more days to join a total lock down announce by PMB with almost 72hours notice

I'm not surprised anyway, this isn't election strategy

This is a governor he makes pronounce of free education in a gathering which has nothing to do with education without putting any framework in place. His personality is perfect for a Nigeria party chairman; he is good in propaganda

In as much I'm in support of most of the decisions by our able governor Wike to ensure the spread of the COVID-19 is prevented, however, I'm not in support of his approach. Some things are better handle maturely rather than using these unprofessional approach.

In all honesty, he has good intentions and to an extent, he is making remarkable progress. He only need to come to term that this isn't campaign time and all hands must be on deck to curb this menace. Oil and gas industry is a very sensitive sector as that's the only thing keeping our economy at the moment. Also this aspect of taking the fight so personal, isn't helping at all.

I leave and do business in PH and I can say categorically that his intentions are perfect and working to an extent but he needs to refine his approach. We are not in banana republic. Most times, he government gives contacting information. He makes some announcements before consultation and that's not helping in this fight. Last week because of the pressure from some religious leaders, he lifted the restriction. The decision thereafter, showed he never consulted wide.

Overall, even though I'm not his fan but he has tried so far except the fact that he needs to refine his approach

What do you expect when a governor can't find any credible neutral person in Rivers to head the distribution committee but PDP State Chairman. From day one, I know the palliative will do exactly the opposite which is to further increase the already bad situation.

My opinion is why can't the local, state ,Federal and all the individual sharing be merged and CBN use BVN of Nigerian to check individual acct history for say within the last two months. Any one who has less than 10k balance within thus period should be credited with say 20k. I know majority will not like this bcs it will not get to most people including me but I don't care. Any one that has money in his acct to sustain for say a month isn't poor from my definition of poverty

How will you be sharing palliative to people who are already civil servants and earn income even without going to work, I don't get this. This useless leaders from top to bottom know the right thing but since they will not benefit by looting the fund, it's a no no for them. Honestly, I don't expect anything new and encouraging. However, I hope he prove me wrong by putting better palliative to ease the suffering of average Nigerian. He will definitely extend the curfew and probably extend to other states for 2weeks

By the way I'm not a doctor. However, as simple as eating balanced diet could help. And we know that this is a luxury to majority of Nigerian. Also at this period, vegetables can help. I take ginger and garlic also.

My main point was that some Nigerian are finding it harder to eat this period and our useless leader aren't putting any reasonable palliative to help.
