You are 100% correct. I weep for the future of my beloved Rivers and Nigeria in general. The irony of this ugly scenario is that the more innocent people that die the more their blood will be crying for vengeance, consequently the more the killing. Until our leaders in all sphere; political, religion traditional rulers and Co rise up to find solution to this menace. How will development comes to a state with cult killings everyday. The entitlement mentality of my brothers and sisters in this part of the country must stop. Imagine a scenario where a woman farm on another person plot of land without permission and when the owner comes to develop his land, the woman was asking for compensation to her crops that needs to be uprooted just because she is an indigen of that community. donbachi: |
I rarely join issue with people on social media. But I find it rude when an educated youth result to name calling and abuse instead of addressing the issue. It's such a pity one can rarely have a reasonable conversation without abuse. To me this isn't best way. We can all have intelligent conversations without insult and the earlier we learn this the better. Takia EngrKem: |
I usually find it illogical and absurd whenever anyone claimed either past government did nothing or that the present administration is doing nothing . How can someone govern for 4years and do nothing. The same illogical argument are also making by those claiming PMB has done nothing. I just don't get it. I believe it's better put that they under performed. PDP 16years in power actually under-performed especially when you compare it to the revenue at their disposal especially GEJ. Moreover PMB hasn't done much either compare to his campaign promise and expectation in 2015 My point is that it's unfair to always say a particular administration do nothing |

Politicians can never disappoint just for ones. I laughed when I saw Wike behaving like an innocent person. Honestly most top politicians especially in Rivers are cult guys and killing is normal to them. None of the major guys is innocent of the killings. I hope they grow up and play politics void of killings in my beloved Rivers. At this point, Wike should put the interest of the state and her development above personal interest. Without this, I foresee same senerio playing out in 2023. |
How AAC still managed to get closed to 200k votes beat my imagination. I only heard about the guy 3days to the election. For Amaechi to even pull out this, his deserve some respect. Moreover, if not for the timely intervention of INEC, our dear Rivers would have be a shadow of itself by now. Ameachi was ready to bring any result to make Aware a winner. Rivers election is for highest rigger |
Wike's re-election was the surest before the 9th of March. If anyone had prophesied that he will find it this hard I'm certain most of us would never believe. He's a fighter and INEC actually helped him to get his well deserved victory. However, he would have also learn his lesson that power comes from God. If APC have contested this election, Wike would have lost because INEC would have closed their eyes to the massive rigging and the militarisation of the whole process |
Though I don't expect majority of nairaland to agree with you, but you just painted what would have happened. Rivers election is usually the best rigger takes all. The reason why INEC suspended the election in the first place was the handwriting on the wall. AAC candidate would have won most of the LGA with military support. Moreover this wouldn't have been a serious issue for INEC if it's APC. I'm certain INEC couldn't just watch and allow unknown party with unknown candidate to win just like that. Though most people might not agree but if it was APC I'm certain INEC would announce the result then whoever is aggrieve will go to tribunal. And as you said, the other elective position would have went as described garfield1: |
If you listen to INEC National commissioner this morning on channel you will conclude that's what's going to happen. I'm sure majority of us who are residents of Rivers never pray for any supplementary election. Let them just announce this already colated results and declare the winner. We are tired of the unnecessary tension. Business around INEC office is totally paralysed including banks. We need to forge ahead Amitez: |
It such a shame that we found ourselves in such a mess. Both PDP and APC are responsible. It's a matter of who outsmart each other so neither APC nor PDP has the moral ground. My disappointment is more with the so called ordinary Nigerians who never benefit from either of these bunch of criminals parading themselves as politicians yet still be abusing each other in defence of these self centered politicians. It's such a shame |
Nigeria politicians can never surprise me even for a second. Very easy to predict. I can bet it that this same Dogara sooner than later will still say exactly the opposite on any judgement not in PDP's favour. To me though our judiciary needs a systematic reform especially in the aspect of corruption. However, always castigating the judiciary isn't a way forward. Bcs politician in particular fail to realise that when they castigate judiciary whenever table turned against them it's showed that when it turned in your favor you might have also compromised them. As a nation we have practically used sentiment to destroyed the reputation of almost all our institutions Let me cite the case of army in Rivers state election, we should all admit some of their officers might be culpable and we should condemn that rather than condemning the entire institution. Forgetting that without their presence in the state during the election, I belt it the election would have be more bloody. Also I listening to some many analyst regarding the 2019 election and surprise that most people never see a single thing INEC did or is doing right. They failed in certain areas yes but condemning them in total is unfair. We shouldn't destroy all our institutions |
Did you read the write up at all before commenting. How this one concern PMB. It's well Pekele007: |
You are on point. To me anyone who believes Jubril of Sudan narrative can actually believe anything including the so called result from INEC server which doesn't make any logical sense. Even if the result is really geniue hiw they hope to tender that in court as an evident still beats my imagination with the current electoral act. It's such a shame that the narrative about Jubril of Sudan even sell among the so called literate. BafanaBafana: |
Though the aspect of compromising the existing result isn't my concern but the fact that Wike is an expert in propaganda. Up till now I'm still waiting for the Cassette he told the whole he had to implicate the late former commissioner of police, i can't remember the guys name again toward the rerun election. The guy knows how to play game of the mind a lot. But on a serious note it's actually an expensive joke for Amaechi to planned to use AAC candidate to unseat Wike. That's the joke of the century. But what do I know, politicians and their antics ukenke: |
Atiku is funny. This is becoming very interesting. Can wait for series of episode this movie will have. Electronic anything isn't admissible under our current electoral act until amended. He might have a solid case but I don't see how to prove it in court. Even this his server is like a joke to any reasonable and objective person. I don't know how he get it and who will give him certified true copy to tender in court. Though the drama will sell well at least he will give false hope to those that support politicians blindly |
Honestly I'm not Wike's fan nor any of the do or die politician in Rivers either bcs to me the politics they play in Rivers is too bloody. However for thinking Wike will even loss this election to me sound like a joke. I believe Amaechi just want to show Wike small so he can feel a little heat. But Wike has already won this election. How can AAC or so who despite my interest in politics and I'm a reside in PH never seen his face before or even know his name until 3days to election will come to beat Wike who is a master in the game. That's the highest joke. Though I believe canal is at work against Wike but he will come out of it. My advice is that this should be resolve asap to enable normalcy fully return to Rivers. Most of us move about with extra caution and vigilant |
And the irony of all these is that electoral act doesn't recognized anything like INEC server. Until the new amendment is passed. For Atiku to prove his case assuming he even had one will be nearly impossible. Most of the evidence that might help his case aren't admissible in court yet. The way forward for credible election is new amendment to electoral act to be passed |
Nigeria politician get no shame. I don't blame them, most of them practically survive on government resources. We aren't go to make progress with this type of politics that lack anything in resemblance of ideology |
Pls the earlier they decide and declare the result the better. We need to forge ahead. What is happening in Rivers is a pathetic situation where the big gladiators care less about the consequences of their action. And the idea of you do me I must retaliate without minding the consequence. It's so clear, you can't rig an election where you are not popular, the outcome of election in several state validated that fact. However I will appeal to Rivers people to reject these two gladiators who basically careless about the lives of their people in as much their ego and ambitious is realized by 2023. The events in 2015 and 2019 clearly show that these people are willing to do anything to realise their selfish ambitious. I wish and hope Rivers people will be bold enough to tell these two people come 2023 that enough is enough. Politics shouldn't be a do or die. This narrative about Rivers of blood must change and this can only be achieve by the people. God bless Rivers state |
Can't you guys be civil in your comments. Must you insult anyone just to make a point. To make the matter worst I'm not certain anyone of you guys are directly benefiting from any of these politician. We can all have intelligent conversion without issue. Plssssss sameni123: |
The guy doesn't live in PH or Rivers. From his comments you could deduced he has no idea what the atmosphere in PH is at the moment. From your comment I'm certain you live in PH mamatwiny: |
Bros/sis, read my comment very well. If you leave in Rivers you will know there is tension. I never said business is grounded. Some offices didn't open. I had business to transact with British Council in PH, they didn't open up till yesterday. Part of Aba road is blocked. There is no way there won't be tension in a scenario we find ourselves. The only problem I have with Nigeria is that to them tension means war and that's not so. Everyone moves with extra caution. Most people working is reputable organization or multinational will undertands what I meant by tension Fuckyoumod: |
The earlier they decide the better for us leaving in Rivers. There is tension. Even some offices didn't open. I'm not sure the NDDC regional office close to INEC office has open since the suspension. The only major road in PH is partly closed. We need to forge ahead abeg |
Why did you forget to include Plateau where APC is leading with over 40,000 and declared inconclusive KwoiZabo: |
Your analysis if correct has nullified the assertion that PDP wins. With that margin compared with cancelled vote, automatically, the election is inclusive in that state. In Nigeria of today, it will take a lot to defeat incumbent governor with federal might. It's so unfortunate that's the situation will find ourselves as a nation and it's such a pity. Until our electoral act is reformed and if possible we go purely electronic, we are definitely in for long thing. We have gone back to OBJ era in our election and it's such a shame. Imagine what's happening in Rivers where an individual just because of federal might is doing anyhow. There is apprehension everywhere in Rivers, most people aren't going to work today because of fear. It's a shame |
Honestly we need to get out of this vote not count mentality. It's a narrative the politicians are selling to keep discouraging us from electing our leaders. They know if we are all set to vote then they are in trouble hence this narrative that votes won't count. I'm not saying there's no rigging, but if majority of us choose to vote instead of social media ranting, they have no option than to allow the will of the electorate. And what saddens me most is the fact that we the youths are the ones even buying this narrative most. The will of the people is very strong especially in the democratic setting. But the old politicians who are all bereaved of ideas on how to move this country forward keep us with a mindset that our vote won't count. |
Apology to all my Rivers friend, I don't see any one that's not a thug ruling rivers in the nearest future. I have lived in Rivers for over 13years now, it's so clear that no gentle man can govern that state. From Odili to Wike, it's so obvious Though, this may sound unfair to APC but I thank God they weren't on ballot paper bcs the killings from both side would have been terrible. |
In as much I know your type I choose not to attack your personality as I know better. Just said not every picture on social media is believable. If you watch a fake news coined to have come from Channel TV you might have know better. However it's your choice to consume any information on social media and it's my choice to advise we are cautious. Pekele007: |
I don't trust any picture anymore. How do we verify this picture wasn't 2015 election. This era of fake news everywhere. Channel TV showed a clip yesterday on how a fake news was circulated by using a picture that looks like Seun on Sunday politics. One need to be very careful before digestive any pictures on social media these days |
Which of the card reader? Is it same that's not recognized by our law yet? We still have a long way to go nzeobi: |
