You know my wife has spent about two months in the UK at the time we applied. Would they expect her to still have the money in a Nigerian bank account?

The point is I am allowed to use my own money as POF for the dependant application according to their website.

Hello good people.

I just received a refusal mail this hot Sunday afternoon from Sheffield, UK.

I used my Bank statement to apply for dependant Visas for myself and two children under 16 years. My wife is already 4 months into her studies.

Account statement was 28 days (2nd of October to 30th). fund was more than the required amount in my account for me and two children.

NSF mail 11th and 14th of January

Asked for my wife's account (I don't know why but I thought it was to check for fund duplication and it was clear there wasn't) 14th of Jan.

Paid mail sent on the 20th (Reply said decision made)

Decision letter today 23th of January.

I have asked people who got there dependant visas approved, I believe I followed the rules.
The ECO quoted an amount that included the the maintenance fee + tuition for my wife and only on dependant (as if she is still in Nigeria and only traveling with one dependant) whereas on the uk.gov website it says " If your partner or child is applying at a different time to you (they’re applying separately) they only need to prove they have money to support themselves".

There is actually no clearcut answer to this. In my opinion, it depends on your plans after graduation. Do you intend to return to Nigeria or remain in the UK? I ask because MPH jobs are very well paid in Nigeria but difficult to come by. In the UK, MPH jobs are not so easy to get unless you decide to do a PHD with which you can lecture.

I speak from experience because I did a Masters in Public Health. A classmate of mine returned to Nigeria and was fortunate to get a job with Clinton Health Access Initiative and was earning about 970k a month. They needed someone MPH who was fluent in Hausa.

Three other classmates decided to go the PHD route, two of them currently have lecturing jobs at MMU, Sheffield-Hallam and the other works as a researcher with the NHS.

I decided on the MSc nursing with registration route because it is shorter and you have a job waiting for you on graduation.

My vignette is also in a passport expiring in April this year.I did a bit of research about how long it takes to process it at the Nigerian Embassy in London and was informed that it may take 4 to 6 months because of backlog of applications arising from Covid.

Since there was a lot of uncertainty which meant I would not be able to travel without a passport while in the UK, I processed the new one in Nigeria and received it within 8 days.

Oh after the refusal u already got a uk study visa but now you are going for another study visa and this new agent didnt use same old insufficinet funds for you? If this is the situation then dont beat yourself up. You willget your visa asap

Pls be careful and smart with information. I think no Visa officer will see ypur reason for refusal as insufficient funds and won't take special interest in your finances and all. Left to me i don't think your agent is wrong neither are u too. I beleive their are better ways to represent insufficient fund without mentioning it. I personally advise my friends to write ' the visa officer claimed i did not provide enough documentation to support my application'. This i belive will cover a lot of things without mentioning insufficient funds. Also, dont adjust finances during biometric as it might signal red flag. Shallom

We can only advice based on other people's outcome. I'll confirm if I have anyone assessed as an EVM before.

In the mean time, please check Australia jobs sites and see the job description of the occupation you are nominating. That should guide what you put as your job description along with the tasks on ANZSCO website and tasks listed on Vetassess website. Don't just put what you do cos what you think you do may not be what Vetassess wants.

Adding one or two health roles may not be bad since you combine the roles.

Your masters will also help your case. Good luck

Are you saying your role is broken into 3 parts?

For any managerial role with Vetassess, you must present organisational chart which will show people you report 5o and people reporting to you.

You cannot assign points to yourself without an assessment. You are only sure of your points after assessment.

Which organisation is your internal auditor experience? VETASSES is very strict with the occupation. Your packaging must be top notch to pull through with internal auditor.

What is your spouse's occupation and qualification?
