My brother the thing tire me o, I got an email from VFS today saying my passport has is at VFS abuja... the people are just mad, something I submitted to Lagos 10days ago. NairaLuck: Can we trend #WeNeedOurPassports on Twitter NG or #VfsReleaseOurPassports
this is becoming unbecoming o. Imagine no tracking number since, and some who have gotten both counterfoil and loi are yet to receive their passports.
Just scattering people's plans, now they'll go on scheduled break soon for the festive period. Everything moves to next year |

That was fast o, we have the same timeline but I have only gotten 1 mail from them. I'm hopeful.. Eilenora: 4th email just this morning. Submitted previous friday via dhl to Abuja, it arrived there last week Monday so today makes it a week since I submitted. I paid for 2 way courier with DHL; with recent trends, does it mean I will still have to pay for VFS's courier service? |

Thank you so much for this information. and I'll be more than glad to meet you some day after I settle in. Naijaforeigner: Congrats Dameele.
Oh yes I finished from Fanshawe and I had to do 2 PGC programs. I am still in London Ontario, I work and live here.
What should you expect? I don’t even know what to tell you. Well, it is a cool city and for me, l love it here (except the boring social life). It is also an okay city for international students although COVID has made it a bit challenging for students to get part time jobs.
Have an open mind, embrace other cultures and be willing to unlearn some stuffs we have been used to as Nigerians.
Transitioning from a 1 year PGWP to PR. This is a difficult one to answer as each person will have to evaluate their situation and determine best suits them and assess their apetite for risk.
It also depends on your age, IELTS, how soon you can get a job in NOC O,A or B post graduation and which route you are considering for PR.
Is it easy to get jobs post graduation in NOC 0, A or B? I did and had friends who also got those jobs. I must add, your program of choice also plays a key role.
It is very possible to get PR with just 1 year PGC, I have seen few people do it BEFORE COVID and I have friends in the process as we speak. I must also add, it is risky.
My personal suggestion will be, go for a second program if you have the money so that you can have peace of mind.
If you need anything when you come in to London Ontario, please feel free to reach out, ask questions as much as possible. I am more than happy to help you to the best of my ability.
Fanshawe will likely give you 2 free nights of accommodation while you search for houses.
On this thread In 2018, I got help from a wonderful man The Congo ( he has been in London for over 20 years or there about) and another wonderful Nigerian lady ( I can’t remember her user name anymore) who helped me settle in. God bless them. |

Hello Naijaforeigner, I remember you saying you graduated from Fanshawe college (I hope I'm not mistaking you for someone else). I just recently got my PPR and just waiting to get back my passport with the visa on it by Gods grace. Please what should I expect as an international student going to London Ont? Do you think its possible to transition from Study visa to PR within my 1 year PGWP? Are you still living in London? if yes how easy do you think it is to get a job after school (business administrator with 3 years Naija experience)? Please can someone tell me which is more preferable choice to fly with, Egypt or Ethiopian air. |

Have you gotten your passport back? If yes how long did it take for you to get it after submitting? Japh11: Since this is his first application and he did his biometrics in Lagos, he won't have to pay the transmission fee of 7430, but if he decides to send it to Abuja, inspite of the fact that it's his first time, as long as he did not do his biometrics in Abuja he will have to pay the transmission fee. As per the required documents. He should include: 2 duly filled consent form (just the second and last pages), 2 copies of his passport biodata page, International passport, Passport Request letter, Biometric slip, Receipt of payment for transmission fee(I.e if decides to submit in Abuja), And his full name as it appears in his passport, phone number, email address and home address on a plain sheet of paper.
Please endeavour to use a two way courier. From my experience, I sent mine the first time without proper documentation, I wasn't contacted by VFS on how to correct it, I was only called and told to pay the transmission fee since I didn't do my biometrics in Abuja, after I made the payment and sent the receipt through the email they provided, I didn't get any tracking ID or update on the progress of my application. My luck was that I paid for two way courier. So all they did was to send it back to me to include the remaining documents. Hope this helps and Congratulations!!! |
Travel › Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by Dameelee: 6:57pm On Nov 18, 2020 |
Please did you fill the last page of the consent form? I just read someone say you should fill the 2nd and last pages (I’ve attached a picture of the last page so you can remember) MOKENN: If you are not in a rush to travel, Lagos is fine. I submitted to Lagos on 26th and got it today (from Port harcourt).
Documents to send with passport are; Int'l passport, ppr letter, biometrics slip, 2 vfs consent form, 2 copies of passport info page.
If you finally opt for Abuja, since you will need to pay N7,430, You may attach the proof of payment (Normal bank teller will be fine) but Snap it before you send them the original just in case they ask you to send the teller to an email address like inthe case of inhouse courier charge (feedback.cannig@vfshelpline.com)
Go to a courier service outlet (DHL, UPS etc), give them the docs and pay for your 2-way courier. the Lagos VFS use UPS. UPS is also less expensive than DHL.
I hope this helps
