Congratulations. It has to get to TLS first before dhl gets it. That should most likely be tomorrow.

You can track your parcel on the dhl website using the tracking number you were given.

Please when was your biometrics and was it priority?

Clarifying now means I've taken offence? That you said no offence meant didn't mean that you should make your comment in a condescending or patronising manner.

If you knew, you wouldn't have made the comment you made and stating that someone doesn't know something isn't abusive. If I don't know something, I wouldn't have issues saying that I don't know, no hard feelings.
You think that calling a comment clarifying a piece of information that came from me was unnecessary and funny was okay while me stating the obvious about you know knowing was rude?

I don't need to know you before I respond you as appropriate; wrapping up your words in honey doesn't negate the presence of vinegar in it.

Even Justwise whom I responded to knows that the comment wasn't rude in any form and eventually understood what I referred to in my initial post.
Hmm! Babe wey get sense!

lol, tbh I commend your way of articulating words/sentences and passing out information. You come off as very intelligent; keep it up dear.

Lol. Even when I asked you not to take offense, your conclusion is this disrespectful comeback of "what I don't know"? Simply because? I reckon you're civil to people who truly do not know on this thread, and anyone with a semblance of correcting you is subject to a pointless defense or a rude retort such as this and the other one about shouting. You will NEVER say that to me in person under ANY circumstance. You don't know me (or what I know) and trust me, if you did, you'll be impressed.

That said, keep up your good work! Cheers!
Lol, inphoenix, but it was you that first accused her of being defensive and went ahead to make a statement like this

“Doesn't in any way tamper with your reputation as a savior on this thread.”

What I saw from her write ups was her just attempting to explain better, what she meant. There was actually no form of defensiveness in what she typed.... from the first one where she was asked to speak more on leave to remain to where she was replying justwise.

You can’t finish saying something like that and now tell her not to take offense and actually expect her not to take offense just because you said so.

You saying she was being unnecessarily defensive and she should just accept what not, is actually the out of line thing in all this

no offense o.... I was just stating my observation o. ‍♀️‍♀️

Hello all,

Thanks for the informative thread, I need advice on the following please (I have gone through the thread to a good extend):
I tried booking a date for TB Test and got a date of 8th of October. Would you advise I wait till after receiving the test result to pay for visa application or I can go ahead and start the application? I am trying to avoid the increased IHS surcharge cost from 5th October.

Another question, my school required they check my financial evidence before issuing my CAS, they even had to make me reprint the bank statement due to some issues. They are now satisfied with the financial evidence which is a combined account statement, one personal and one joint account with a family member of same surname (my uncle). Do you think during the interview (if any) questions would be asked why I am having a joint account? and do I have to prove what percentage of it is mine?

Thank you

cc: mimilyrics , justwise
1. You can do it either way tbh.

I will advise you go ahead and submit your visa application and then choose a date that falls after 8th of October for biometrics.... if anything is wrong with your Tb test, you just cancel your visa application and you will get your refund

For me, my Tb test was scheduled for 11th September, I submitted my visa application on 4th September and I chose 14th September for my biometrics.

Just ensure that if you are using self service, you do not mistakenly submit your documents when you don’t yet have your Tb certificate.

For sure, it is usually better to have all your documents ready before you submit your visa application, but in this case, there is really nothing to lose. If you are unable to get your certificate on 8th, you just cancel your application or you can even amend your biometrics date.

2. People usually have joint accounts with whoever for several reasons, so if the reason you have a joint account with your uncle has nothing to do with your application then just go ahead and tell them the reason you do if they ask.

I don’t think there is anyway to prove the percentage of the money that is yours, I’m not sure, however, just ensure that at-most half of the money in the account added to that in your personal account meets the required fund for your maintenance and tuition balance, if any.

Of course that is base fare, before tax and the rest. That's the price shown on the website. Final price per person came out to about $520 per person
For the week of the 5th it was showing a base fare of $810 - $844.
Alright.

I realised that even without vpn, the 410 price was same.

I use a VPN when buying Lagos to London tickets and change my location from Nigeria to the UK.

Previously you usually get lower prices when you buy your tickets from the UK as opposed to buying from Nigeria, except that you have to pay with your card, which is no longer feasible with Nigerian cards.

In any case, prices on BA's website for 2nd week of October are down to tolerable levels ($410 for a one-way ticket to Manchester/Aberdeen, about 160k), and I just bought earlier today.
$410?, are you sure about this? Was that the final price? Or that was before tax and carriage fee

Please house I have an urgent questions.

I have managed to get my agent/sponsor into agreeing to convert my application from standard to priority.

My agent just called (through my sponsor) that if he proceeds that the original interview date will change and I may be giving a date in December.

I would like to think that this is not the case.

I had to send him the step that @mamacajah posted yesterday since he wont give me access to the application platform.

Please for those that have done it, is it through that the original interview date might change to a date in the future?

Please it is kind of urgent, my sponsor is waiting for me to confirm if I want to go through with it or not? I just want to be double sure.

Sorry if my question sound like no brainer but given my current circumstance I can't help but to ask and be double sure.

Infact once I get a feedback I will forward it to him.

Thanks for swift response.
If you haven’t done biometrics, just relax. On the day of your biometrics, pay at the TLS.

They might refuse inside, but I heard those at the gate do it. But find out from inside first.

Also, you can just leave it as standard application. Standard application visas have been coming out in 9days recently.

Besides, why is your agent refusing you access to your application. These agents really know how to be unfair. I wonder why people still patronize them. Smh

Sorry sorry grin 9th! A Wednesday
Standard Ikeja.

And I noticed something, if you received a mail for pick up check the reference

Ref: GWFO........ you’ve been granted

Ref: GWFX........ you’ve been Rejected.

I need more people to verify the above.
Rejected visa is different from refused visa.

If your visa is rejected, it means your application is not valid and your money will be refunded

While in refused visa, your application was valid but you didn’t satisfy the requirements and your money won’t be refunded

Also usually, a rejected application normally didn’t even make it to the dmc

So if you meant that GWFX meant your visa was refused, then no, this is not correct.

My dear, I think the house has already advised that you be positive and hope for the best. Some others have even said that you have nothing to worry as you have the 28days covered.

Besides, if you cancel your application, you will not get a refund because you have already done biometrics.

So just relax and wait for the outcome.

Oh dear this is now scary , I don’t know what I was thinking, so the day I submitted won’t be added to make it 28days? This is sad
I really don’t know how they do the counting, so to be safe I usually just leave out the 1st day and the day of submission.... I count the days inbetween.

But Don’t worry, just be positive. It’ll all work out for good

Hi
I only gave an example using the September 1st.

In reality I submitted sept 5th online and printed out my statement sept 7th. But I printed the dates August 8th to September 6th even though I submitted my online application September 5th.

So I am guessing August 8th to September 4th covers my 28 days before I submitted on the 5th. Even though My statement states August 8th to September 6th.

Please am I safe ?
I think you should have waited atleast one more day. You may or may not be safe.

From my calculation, you statement shows only 27days before your application and not 28th ie counting from 9th.

But if ukvi includes 8th in their counting, then you should be safe.

You have already submitted I guess so no need crying over spilled milk. Just hope for the best.

Cheers

28days finishing on the day of the closing balance (not finishing in the date of your application)

TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by dami24(f): 12:10pm On Aug 03, 2020
mimilyrics:
Did you read through what I wrote based on the OP's situation vis-a-vis what's in the guidance? Are you advising that the OP submit a statement that doesn't capture the funds in his/her account on the date his/her application is submitted?
My agreement was in line with general advice on age of statement and I think I updated my comment to reflect this and I mentioned situations where it was otherwise. Though it's the general advice (which I even give), the date on the bank statement was not dealt with in the guidance, only the period the funds cover.
The guidance only talks about the period the funds cover which must be 28-31 days preceding your application and not later than your application date, nothing on the date/age of the statement.
It is possible to submit a bank statement that doesn’t capture the funds in the account on the day of submission.

When you print a bank statement at the bank, it carries date you printed the bank statement and also the number of months you have chosen up till the day of printing

For eg, if I print a 28days bank statement today, it shows the funds I have in the account up til today (3/08/2020). The date of printing the bank statement is also 03/08/2020

Ukvi says it is perfectly fine for me to use this bank statement dated 03/08/2020 for the next 31 days. That means this bank statement can be used from today till 03/09/2020

I hope this is clear.
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by dami24(f): 11:52am On Aug 03, 2020
mimilyrics:
No offence meant but that's not quite right; the 28-day rule applies irrespective of when you print your statement so the OP has to reprint the statement to show funds on his online submission date.

The guidance clearly states that the funds should cover the 28-31 days preceding the application and not later than the date of application. If the OP applies tomorrow and has a statement that ends today, he has to print another one that covers 28 days including tomorrow because tomorrow is part of the 28-day count. The closing balance that will be used will be the closing balance on the day you submit, not the closing balance of the day before.

In cases where people's statements show funds beyond 31 days prior to the application or a day(s) later than the application, the ECO just counts 28-days backwards from the date of submission to ensure that the money has been in there for 28-days leading up to the application so you are right on this.

The guidance deals with the period the funds should cover and is actually silent on the age/ print date of the bank statement; the general use of 31 days after printing/before biometrics is actually a general advice due to document integrity reasons and situations in which the document date was an ish but this is not stated in the guidance. Only loan and scholarship letters have the age/date of the document stated.
Mimilyrics, you have talked about this before and I think it was corrected then and you agreed with the correction.

The ECO wants to see that you have held your funds in the account for atleast 28days and the statement of account should not be older than 31days before you submit your application.

Meaning if you printed your 28days statement of account on the 1st of July, it’s is still valid to be submitted until 31st July

You only have to reprint if you are submitting the statement after 31st July

I think you're mixing it up with the 28-days requirement.
Even though you have to show the money you need for 28 days prior to your online application, the printed account statement must not be older than 31 days on the date of your biometrics appointment, not online application.
You have up till the day of your biometrics to upload your documents so it shouldn't be a problem.
Mimilyrics are you show about this? I think it’s 31days from when you submit your application not biometrics
