Femi Fani-Kayode, former Aviation Minister, on Wednesday, said the time was right for Yorubas to demand the breakup of Nigeria and creation of Oduduwa Republic.

He noted that the current killings allegedly being perpetrated by armed herdsmen was an indication that Yorubas must call for secession.

In a series of tweets, the former Minister stressed that people of the South West could no longer be part of Nigeria because President Muhammadu Buhari allegedly opposes restructuring.

Fani-Kayode wrote: “Any Fulani man that refuses to openly and unequivocally condemn the slaughter, ethnic cleansing and mass murder of Middle Belters, southerners and other Nigerians by Fulani herdsmen is no friend of mine. As a matter of fact such a person is a mortal enemy.

“Thank God that I am Yoruba. I was born Yoruba and I will die Yoruba. ‘Omo karo jire ni mi!’ And with the way things are going in Nigeria, I think that it is about time for the Yoruba to exercise their right of self-determination and consider the establishment of Oduduwa Republic.

“We cannot remain in a country where the President encourages and supports mass murder, genocide, and ethnic cleansing, where he says “no” to restructuring and where the life of a cow is worth more than the life of a human being. There is no fellowship between light and darkness!”

Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, has criticised President Muhammadu Buhari for not arresting the Chairman, North Central zone of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, MACBAN, Danladi Ciroma, after his claim that the killing of the 86 persons was in retaliation to the death of over 300 cows in the last few weeks by the affected villagers.

We reported that Danladi Ciroma, was quoted saying that, “These attacks are retaliatory. As much as I don’t support the killing of human being, the truth must be told that those who carried out the attacks must be on revenge mission.

“There have been recent reports of cow rustling and destruction of farms between Berom farmers and Fulani herdsmen. The people carrying out these criminal activities are well known to the communities but the communities are hiding them.”

However, reacting, Fayose on Twitter urged Buhari to deal with the ‘perpetrators of the evil act as terrorists.’

He said, ”One question Nigerians should be asking President Buhari is; has anyone been arrested for the killing of over 200 people in Plateau.

”200 people killed in one day by people said to be retaliating loss of cows is a national disaster that should attract decisive actions not speeches.

”In saner climes, Presidents don’t go to sleep when over 200 of their citizens, including children are murdered,they take decisive actions to bring perpetrators to book and prevent reoccurrence. But here in Nigeria, our president sees killing of over 200 people as two fighting.

”President Buhari, killings by herdsmen is not Farmers/Herdsmen clash. It is not a case of two fighting. Rather, it is terrorism. Deal with perpetrators as terrorists and you will see these senseless killings coming to an end.”

Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo has stated that 10,392 graduates from Oyo State have been shortlisted for the second batch of N-Power scheme scheduled to commence in July.

Osinbajo made the disclosure in Ibadan on Tuesday at the National Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Clinic co-hosted by the Office of Vice President and Oyo State Government.

He stated that 9,220 volunteers benefited in the first batch of the scheme, adding it was one of the social economic interventions of the Federal Government domiciled in his office.

Osinbajo listed other programmes under his office to include the Conditional Cash Transfer, Home Grown School Feeding Programme and Government Enterprise Empowerment Programme(GEEP).

The Vice President said President Muhammadu Buhari has directed that the GEEP programme be expanded to cater for small scale enterprises.

“We are feeding 230,000 pupils, we have also employed 2,363 cooks in the state, while 14,529 households are benefiting in the Conditional Cash Transfer.

“It is the hope of Mr President that we should broaden opportunities and make it available to every Nigerian,” he said.

The Middle Belt Conscience Guard (MBCG) has attributed the ongoing crises in Plateau State to some selfish politicians who were hell bent on making the state and the entire nation ungovernable.

The Plateau Police Command had on Sunday confirmed the killing of several persons in renewed attacks on Razat, Ruku, Nyarr, Kura and Gana-Ropp villages of Gashish District in Barkin Ladi Local Government of the state.

Speaking on the ceaseless attacks, the middle belt group said some political players were only using the crisis to blackmail the state government and President Muhammadu Buhari ahead of the 2019 general elections.

Prince Raymond Enero, National President of the group while reacting to the ongoing killings in the area, called on President Buhari to replicate the feat performed with the degradation of Boko Haram in the north east by completely eliminating the so called unknown killers that are killing people in the Middle Belt to score political points

He said, “It is a known fact that there has been incessant killings in other north central states particularly Benue from which Plateau state was relatively spared. In recent days however, there has been a spike in the activities of such killers. The most recent is the killing of two children of a clergyman in Mangu Local Government Area by unknown killers. The incident resulted in youths acting in line with the expectations of those behind the heinous crime; they took to the streets in protest until security operatives successfully managed the situation.

“We said “expectations of those behind the heinous crime” because we have credible information that the killings spread to Plateau state as part of a plot to discredit the government of President Muhammadu Buhari, whose government has restoration of security as one of its cardinal agenda. While President Buhari’s government is being targeted at the centre that of Governor Simon Lalong is also being targeted at the state level.

“The information at our disposal shows that the plot is to indiscriminately kill innocent people to create the impression of ethnically or sectarian motivated attacks. People of the affected communities are then expected to turn on each other, their neighbours, government agencies or security personnel.

“The dimension was meant to cause same mayhem and instigate protesters across some selected communities in a bid for the plotters to achieve their aim. But for the maturity of the youths in Mangu Local Government Area and the professional conduct of the security personnel drafted to contain the protest things would have gone out hand.

“The Middle Belt Conscience Guard is therefore using this opportunity to appeal to the people of Plateau State not to fall for this wicked trick that is meant to set the entire state on fire. Given the devilishness of the plot, we urge the people of the surrounding states to Plateau to not take precautions but to also actively be on the lookout for suspicious people that could try to replicate similar crimes after they have failed to destabilize Plateau state.

“We acknowledge that Governor Lalong has done much within the limitations imposed by the Constitution on governors in handling security of their states, we however urge him to urgently liaise with the Federal Government before the killers that have set on the loose gain a foothold in the state. Our suggestion is that he should champion a summit of the governors of states in the Middle-Belt so that they can set aside political and ideological differences to get at the root of the problem so that the sanctity of life can again return to our lands.

“We appeal to the Federal Government of President Buhari to replicate the feat performed with the degradation of Boko Haram in the north east by completely eliminating the so called unknown killers that are killing people in the Middle Belt to score political points.

“Nigerians should consider this press briefing as a notice for them to disregard the agents of destabilization that are behind these acts of wickedness. The path to defeating these enemies of Nigeria is very clear. The first thing is not to react in panic and confusion as they want us to. The next is for the people to sniff such evil people out wherever they might be and alert the relevant law enforcement or security agency so that the law will take its course.

“We urge security agencies to step up surveillance in the entire area so that a truly preventive approach can kick in to ensure that killers are apprehended before they inflict damage, death and pain on the people. The security agencies should tap into the structure already built by Governor Lalong to provide adequate cover for the population.

“The people of Plateau state must further take the initiative to key into the cooperation between security agencies and the state government. The security efforts put in place by the state government should be taken as incentive to support the governor and other stakeholders to ensure that the state is spared of avoidable deaths.

“To those behind the killings, our message is clear: even if it takes time justice will one day be done to the puppets that bear the knives or pull the triggers and to the puppet masters that make them do it.”

Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari has finally reacted to the fresh killings of about 86 people in the state.

Reacting to the sad incident, the President in a statement on its verified Twitter page appealed for calm even as he assured Nigerians of justice to perpetrators of the dastardly act.

Nigerian rapper, Falz has called blasted the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government over the spate of killings experienced in some parts of the country.

The rapper, cum actor, who recently highlighted the problems in the country in his song ‘This is Nigeria’ spoke in reaction to fresh attack in Plateau.

It was earlier reported that Plateau Police Command on Sunday confirmed the killing of 86 persons in the attacks on Razat, Ruku, Nyarr, Kura and Gana-Ropp villages of Gashish District in Barkin Ladi Local Government.

It was also gathered that fifty houses, fifteen motorcycles and two vehicles were also burnt down.

The gunmen also attacked Daffo and Kuba communities in Bokkos Local Government of the State.

Reacting, Falz on his Twitter page raised alarm concerning the actions of the government towards frequent massacre.

“This level of insensitivity shown by our government is rather disturbing.

“People are continuously being massacred every day in different states!!! It’s actually getting out of hand,” Falz wrote.

A young teenage girl who was sent on an errand to buy garri for dinner has been raped to death by evil rapist in Anambra State.

The 17-year-old girl was gang-raped and killed in Ogwugwu village, Oba, in the Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State.

The deceased, who just finished her West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WAEC), was said to have been attacked and raped by six young men while on her way to buy garri for dinner around 7pm on Wednesday.

A source revealed that the suspects believed to be known to the victim had lured her to an uncompleted building where she was raped and killed. The source said;

“The boys lured her to an uncompleted building, where they took turn to rape her until she became weak.

“They threw her down from the storey building so that she would not expose them.”

The source added that the girl’s corpse had been deposited in a morgue.

The Divisional Police Officer in charge of Ojoto Police Division, Prince Ezejiofor, confirmed the incident horrible, saying no arrest had been made yet. Prince Ezejiofor said;

“They perpetrated the act about 7pm, but we are closing in on the suspects.”

GOVERNOR Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State, yesterday raised the alarm that the Federal Government was deliberately withholding the release of the Paris Club refund to states purposely to prevent Ekiti State from using the money to pay arrears of workers’ salaries before the July 14 governorship election.

This was just as the governor also warned the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, against stopping the collation of elections results midway, as it was done during the governorship election in Edo State.

Fayose, who spoke through his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Idowu Adelusi in Ado Ekiti, said “If it is released to other states without the inclusion of Ekiti, people will suspect the Federal government of playing politics with it. The Federal Government used that tactics in Kogi State to assist the APC candidate to win.

“I am using this forum to inform Ekiti people that the Federal government is punishing and depriving them their entitlement because of politics. The Federal Government thinks that if I am not able to pay the four months salaries owed the workers, they will vote for APC.

“Ekiti people are not fools, they know that the Fayemi administration plunged the state into debt. Fayemi left two months salary unpaid and N1.2 billion is being deducted every month from Ekiti allocations to service the debt.

“So far, N35.34 billion has been deducted from allocations coming to Ekiti to service debts owed by Fayemi administration.

“If I have N35.34 billion, I will not owe workers and I will be able to take care of the needs of the people. Ekiti people are not fools and will not again accept APC.

“I want to appeal to the INEC to be a good umpire, live to its name as an independent body. Election or counting should not be stopped midway because PDP is winning and APC is losing. Edo formula will not be accepted in Ekiti. People are known to resist cheating and they will defend their votes.”

No fewer than 6,800 delegates are expected to vote for aspirants contesting for positions in the National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at its National Convention on Saturday.

The Chairman of the Media Subcommittee for the National Convention Planning Committee, Gov. Abiola Ajimobi, stated this on Thursday in Abuja.

Ajimobi, who spoke after the committee members inspected the Eagle Square, venue of the convention, added that the party was prepared to ensure a rancor free convention.

“We are very happy about all the preparations, everything is in place, you can see what we call a very professional arrangement for tomorrow,” he said.

He added that some aspirants may however drop from the race before the convention.

“Politics is about conflict and resolution, today we are meeting the aspirants to interview them, there will be a give and take so that it will be a smooth operation on Saturday,” he said.

Also speaking, former Governor of Zamfara, Sen. Ahmed Yarima, who is the Chairman of the Convention Subcommittee for Accreditation, said the committee had commenced the screening and accreditation of delegates from the 36 states and Federal Capital Territory.

He assured that delegates would be properly scrutinised before entering the convention venue.

“We are going to put numbering and security code so that as soon as you come to the gate you are properly identified, screened and then you enter.

“Even as they vote inside, you have another card that you present so you can be allowed to vote” he said.

The tenure of the Chief John Odigie-Oyegun-led APC national executive ends on June 25.

Some traders operating within the premises of Oja Oba market in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti state capital, have lost property worth about N150 million to inferno.

The market stall, having 30 lock-up shops located opposite the popular Bisi Market at the Post office area of the Ado Ekiti metropolis.

The fire, which according to eyewitnesses, suddenly surged at about 7.30pm on Tuesday and gutted the entire building belonging to Governor Ayodele Fayose’s Chief of Staff, Chief Dipo Anisulowo, destroying the property therein.

The building was formerly used by a new generation bank before being converted to a market stall for traders .

The traders, numbering 30, who were operating under the aegis of Ekiti State Youth Traders’ Association, linked the incident to alleged arson attack by unknown persons.

Rumour had it that the house must have been attacked by politicians, because the building belonged to a top politician of PDP extraction in

the State.

Recounting how the incident happened, the Chairman of the Association, Opeyemi Fakayode, said it started at about 7.30 pm when the security guards had already arrived.

He said some of the property could have been salvaged by men of the Fire Services, but for lack of water in the fire fighting tanker, adding that the other vehicle that could have helped the situation suddenly developed fault upon arriving the scene.

He said: “None of us was able to salvage a pin from that place. Even the guard had arrived and was about changing his dresses behind the building when he came back to meet huge smoke coming through the

windows.

“We suspected arson because one of the window’s blade had bent, meaning that someone must have done that for sinister intention. We suspected that was where they used to set the building on fire.

“It could not have been electrical problem, because our light had been disconnected before the incident. Even the fuse of the generating set we were using collectively was intact and was put on neutral , which we believed could not have sparked fire.

“Some of us just went to market to buy new products to sell when the incident happened and we may end up having nothing if we have no help”.

Fakayode added that when they immediately called the State Fire service upon receiving distress calls from the security guards to salvage the situation, but to no avail.

“When the fire fighters came with two tankers, one of them had no water while the other one with water could not pump, it became faulty.

“It was after this we called Afe Babalola University, which deployed its tanker but the property had already been razed down completely before it arrived”, he added.

In a letter dated June 20 signed by the victims and addressed to the General Manager, State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), the traders appealed to the state government for relief materials.

They said help from government and well-meaning Nigerians remained the only way some of them could return to market and begin trading.

No fewer than 34 Nigerians were on Wednesday deported from the United States of America for allegedly committing various offences in the country.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the deportees arrived at the Cargo Wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMlA), Lagos at about 2.30 p.m.

The deportees, comprising 32 males and two females, were brought back in a chartered Omni Air International aircraft with Registration Number W342AX.

Spokesman of the Lagos Airport Police Command, DSP Joseph Alabi, confirmed the development to NAN.

Alabi said, “at about 14.30 hours (2.30 p.m.), we received 34 Nigerians who were brought back from the United States. They were made up of 32 males and two females. ”

He said the 25 of the deportees were alleged to have committed criminal offences, with one involved in narcotics while others were alleged to have committed immigration-related offences.

Alabi said the deportees were received by officers of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) and the Police.

Also on ground to receive them were officials of Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) and the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).

He said that the deportees were profiled by the relevant authorities and allowed to depart to their various destinations

A Magistrate Court in Akure on Tuesday cancelled the bail granted to a suspected killer of Fulani herdsman, Ajayi Bayode following alleged pressure by the Ondo State Government.

Bayode was alleged to have killed one of the Fulani herdsmen who invaded his farmland in Arigidi Akoko in Akoko Northwest Local Government area of the State

He was however granted bail due to his deteriorating health condition four days ago.

Bayode appeared in court last week Thursday and charged with one count charge of murder contrary to Section 319 (1) of the Criminal Code Cap 37 Vol 1 of the laws of the state.

The suspect was however granted bail so that he could treat himself in order to stand trial.

But, piqued with the order of the court, the state government through the office of Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice asked the court to revoke the bail earlier granted the suspect.

When the case came up for hearing, a lawyer from the Ministry of Justice, Olubunmi Olatunji said the court should reverse its earlier order granted to the suspected killer of the herdsmen on the ground that the court lacked jurisdiction to hear the case.

Olatunji said the court should set aside its decision of the June 14 granting the respondent bail for want of jurisdiction in pursuant to Section 156 of the administration of Criminal Justice.

The counsel said the nature of the offence and the circumstances surrounding it poses great security challenges to the accused, the community and the state at large.

According to her, it is the High Court that has jurisdiction to hear cases that bordered on capital punishment if found guilty.

Counsel to the accused, Wale Omotoso however said he needed time to respond to the application made by the state government as he was served with the court processes earlier in the day.

In her ruling, the Chief Magistrate, Mrs Victoria Bob-Manuel ordered the accused to be taken to the custody by the police.

She also directed that the accused should be transferred to the hospital so that he could get medical attention. She ordered that he should be taken to the prison custody after that.

Bob-Manuel said since her court did not have jurisdiction to hear the case, the counsel to the accused should seek bail for his client at the High Court.

Omotoso said the court was forced to reverse herself because of the pressure from the government .

He said ”This is subversion of justice. If a person has been given bail because of pathetic health condition and overnight, the bail is revoked. The man is in jeopardy and may likely lose his life anytime from now. May God help us in this country”.

There is a controversy surrounding the death of a policeman, Inspector Gabriel Kayode and one Albert Afolayan, who were knocked down by a vehicle in Ado Ekiti on Tuesday morning.

It was learnt that Kayode of the State Intelligence Bureau and Afolayan were knocked down by a vehicle around 10 am at Fajuyi in Ado Ekiti.

The Special Assistant to Governor Ayodele Fayose on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, had claimed that the police officer was knocked down by one of the vehicles on the campaign train of the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Dr Kayode Fayemi.

But the Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Bello, said no vehicle in Fayemi’s convoy killed anyone.

The Police Public Relations Officer in Ekiti, ASP Caleb Ikechukwu, who spoke on his behalf, said the CP was in Fayemi’s convoy and nothing of such happened.

“The CP was in the convoy and led the security team; nothing of such happened,” he said.

Ikechukwu later gave the identity of the driver of the car as Abayomi Ismaila Damilare.

He said he was driving a Toyota Sienna with Registration no: Lagos SZ 874 EKYwhen he knocked down the two victims.

“The Police Officer and the second victim, Albert Afolayan, sustained varying degrees of injury and died while receiving treatment at the teaching hospital.

“The vehicle has been impounded and an investigation is ongoing.”

When contacted, the Chief Medical Director of Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital, Ado Ekiti, Kolawole Ogundipe, confirmed that the corpse of a police officer was brought to the hospital.

“The corpse was brought around 10:55 am by a policeman simply identified as Abdul-Kadir. The victim was identified as Gabriel Kayode.”

Ogundipe confirmed that the victim was a police officer but could not give details of his death as of the time of filing this report.

Detectives attached to Area D command in Mushin area of Lagos have arrested a man, Joel Asabor, over alleged impersonation of Senator Andy Ubah.

Asabor, it was gathered, posed on Facebook as the Senator representing Anambra South district and fleeced job seekers wishing to get employment with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).

It was gathered that the suspect was trailed to Oghara, Delta State, where he was apprehended on Monday.

He reportedly opened a Facebook account with Ubah’s picture, where he had private chats with job seekers and demanded they paid certain amount of money to get their dream jobs.

The suspect’s arrest followed a petition by one Charles Asugha on behalf of a victim, Chinelo Nnedimma, who lost N300, 000 to the fraudster.

After paying N300, 000 to the suspect’s First Bank account and the job was not forthcoming, the victim was directed to contact a supposed lawmaker, Nkiruka, for further discussions on the matter.

A source said the victim was swindled in December last year, adding that police only got involved in the matter after the petition.

He said:

“The victim paid N300,000 through the First Bank account of Asabor Joel (3069996606). She was promised employment in NNPC. But after collecting the money, he started playing pranks with the victim. He gave the victim the mobile number of a certain lawmaker, Hon. Nkiruka, which was another ploy to swindle the victim more.”

Senator Bola Tinubu, the National Leader of All Progressives Congress (APC), has described Ekiti as a state where change is necessary.

Tinubu speaking at the launch of the mega rally of APC’s governorship candidate, Mr Kayode Fayemi, in Ado Ekiti on Tuesday urged Ekiti people to get permanent voters card to effect change required in the state.

“We will not take Ekiti back to the past. You all must use your Permanent Voters Card (PVC) to vote in APC.

“Your PVC is your red card. Use your PVC to give PDP a red card on July 14,’’ Tinubu advised the crowd.

Likewise, Former Edo state governor, Mr. Adams Oshiomhole, who spoke after Tinubu narrated how his plane was grounded and prevented from travelling from Benin to Ekiti in 2014 to campaign for Fayemi.

The APC National Chairman candidates said that the injustice meted on him in 2014 was a play of dictatorship of the past administration.

“Those people are no longer there. There is no more need to be afraid. Come out and vote on July 14. You will be protected.

“The good news is that on July 14, Fayemi will be the candidate you will vote for.

“It will no longer be bad for Ekiti but good.

“The past four years was for the thief, but July 14 is for the owner.’’

Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has sued the Minister of Power, Works and Housing Mr Babatunde Fashola SAN over “failure to account for the spending on the privatisation of the electricity sector and the exact amount of post-privatisation spending on generation companies (GENCOS), distribution companies (DISCOS) and Transmission Company of Nigeria to date, and to explain if such spending came from budgetary allocations or other sources.”

In the suit number FHC/L/CS/972/18 filed last week at the Federal High Court, Ikoyi, Lagos, SERAP is seeking “an order for leave to apply for judicial review and an order of mandamus directing and/or compelling Mr Fashola to provide specific details on the privatization of the electricity sector, the names of all the companies and individuals involved; and to publish widely including on a dedicated website any such information.”

The suit followed SERAP’s Freedom of Information request dated 7 May 2018 to Mr Fashola giving him 14 days to provide “information on the status of implementation of the 25-year national energy development plan, and whether the Code of Ethics of the privatization process which bars staff of the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE) and members of the National Council on Privatization (NCP) from buying shares in companies being privatized were deliberately flouted.”

The suit filed on behalf of SERAP by its counsel, Ms. Bamisope Adeyanju read in part: “Publishing the information requested and making it widely available to the public would serve the public interest and provide insights relevant to the public debate on the ongoing efforts to prevent and combat a culture of mismanagement of public funds, corruption and impunity of perpetrators.”

“Most of the companies that won the bids had no prior experience in the power sector and little or no capacity at all to manage the sector. The privatization of the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) have yielded the country total darkness. The gains of privatization have been lost through alleged corruption, manipulation of rules and disregard to extant laws and lack of transparency in the exercise.

“To further highlight the seriousness of the situation, several years after the country’s power sector was privatized, millions of Nigerian households particularly the socially and economically vulnerable sectors of the population continue to complain about outrageous bills for electricity not consumed, and poor power supply from distribution firms. Millions of Nigerians continue to be exploited through the use of patently illegal estimated billing by DISCOs. One wonders the essence of the privatization if there has been no corresponding improvement in power for Nigerians.”

SERAP is seeking a declaration that the failure of the Respondent to furnish the Applicant with information on specific details on the spending on the privatization of the electricity sector, the exact amount of post-privatization spending to date and the names of all the companies and individuals involved; as well as explain if such spending came from budgetary allocations or other sources is unlawful as it contradicts and in conflict with the obligations of the Respondent under the Freedom of Information Act 2011.

“A declaration that the failure of the Respondent to furnish the Applicant with information on the details of spending on and status of implementation of the twenty-five (25) year national energy development plan is unlawful as it contradicts and in conflict with the obligations of the Respondent under the Freedom of Information Act 2011.

“A declaration that the failure of the Respondent to clarify to the Applicant the degree of compliance with the Code of Ethics of the privatization process which bars staff of the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE) and members of the National Council on Privatization (NCP) from buying shares in companies being privatized is unlawful as it contradicts and in conflict with the obligations of the Respondent under the Freedom of Information Act 2011.

Be Positive

People think that they are too good for their current job. Adopt a positive attitude. There are so many things to learn yet from the job . Put in the best and try to imagine what the job can lead to. This little job helps to boost the resume.

Do things you enjoy at work

Make a playlist of the music you love and listen at work, or tune it to favorite program or talk show as you work. Look forward to times you love at work. It can be lunch time. Savour this time and make it enjoyable.

Focus on getting your dream job

The Ekiti State House of Assembly has suspended its Chief Whip , Mr . Sunday Akinniyi, who is representing Ikere Constituency 2 , for allegedly sleeping at plenary sessions .

A statement signed by the Chairman , House Committee on Information , Dr . Samuel Omotoso, yesterday in Ado-Ekiti , said the House suspended Akinniyi over series of allegations levelled against him , chief among which is his sleeping habit .

Omotosho said that the decision followed a thorough investigation carried out by Ayodele Fajemilehin-led committee of the Assembly.

He said Akinniyi was accused few weeks ago of “breeding terrorism and violence towards the mace in a properly constituted plenary session , belligerence attitude and acts of bellicosity against his colleagues and pugnacious behaviours in his constituency against his own people , all amounting to gross misconduct and unbecoming of any honourable member of this House .

“The suspended honourable member was also regularly absenting himself , especially when issues relating to his constituency is slated for discussion . Despite complaints of negligence from his people , he remained adamant.”

“The few occasions he presented himself for official duties in the House , Akinniyi is in the habit of sleeping from the beginning of any programme to the end to the extent that he was nicknamed ‘ the sleeping honourable .’

“Several attempts by the Speaker advising him to pay attention to his people and his health has been rebuffed with insults .

“It is in reference to all these that this House viewed the failure of Akinniyi as incompatible with the spirit of good governance and quality representation of the present House of Assembly and he is hereby suspended indefinitely ,” he said .

He also advised that while on suspension , Akinniyi should pay more attention to his health and use the period of his suspension to come out of his embarrassing sleeping syndrome by sleeping at home rather than chasing shadows .

In another development , the state governor , Mr . Ayodele Fayose , has sacked two members of the board of the state Teaching Service Commission , Chief Gabriel Falayi and Chairman , Governing Council of the College of Education , Ikere -Ekiti , Prof . Babajide Alo . The sack takes immediate effect .

Secretary to Ekiti State Government , Modupe Alade, in a statement to newsmen yesterday, announced the development.
