As for that Biochemistry grad, its likely age isn't on his side for graduate trainee jobs (27 max) but if not, may be he's not closer to information. Young people who knew nobody still get good jobs in this country. It may not be immediately after youth service but it will definitely come, that is if the said good grade holder is within the age range, passed tests and interviews.
I knew nobody when i got my first job in 2014 , in fact i came third on the assessment list of about 500 and my CGPA was 3.61 (Demography & Social statistics).

Thank God for your life bro.. All the same have seen a lot of young men and women with good grades and still floating around and that's why I thanked God for ur life....

The sooner you stop looking for a white collar job with that certificate, the better cuz if you are not well connected, you won't get any for another 10 years.
Funny fact is, my company is quite popular around Ondo state yet I still used a little connection to win a contract from a tertiary institution last month.
Knowing the right people can go a long way to determine how far you go in life.

I saw an advert on Twitter yesterday for a full stack developer, what amazed me was that no certification or grade been asked for, it's just based on ur proficiency.. I have some friends we studied geology at the University together having goods grades who are leveraging on ict, and throwing the certificate at a corner..

Continue fooling yourself by making cases for westerners who already knew what they want out of life before they put in for their degrees.
My advice is for anyone on a 3rd /Pass is to get a UTME form, start all over again, choose the right course, not all these Art courses (Mass com, History, Pol Science, Pub Admin, sociology, psychology etc) because they're too many on the street and do yourself a favor to graduate with at least 4pt+,provided he/she would graduate before 24 and if you're on a 2.2 endeavor to make it to 3.5
Note : I am not saying there's a ready made jobs for those class of degree (CGPA) but because employers have deviced new means of cutting out numbers .You'll be sure of getting invites for tests and interviews and if you smash it, forget it, only ill luck can testify against you.

Grade is awesome bro but connection is the bomb.. Like what a friend of mine told me about his brother experience when he got job at ptdf.. Those with sponsors were put in a room, served tea and bread while others were made to write aptitude test in another room for same job, and after the test they were told that they would get back to them even when they knew that their real candidates were enjoying themselves in another room.. Imagine after such enjoyment, they were given 20k for transport fare... In fact I went for an interview at one private University, I was called again for another interview but on getting there is met a guy whom I knew to be working in a state university, but was dismissed recently due to age falsification. This guy said he came for an interview at same department where I applied to and even the same position I applied for.. In fact he wasn't really interviewed but he name had been included on the list and I learnt the department is just looking for just two staffs. How did the guy get there? He's brother is the director of the ICT at same University. A friend of mine lecturing at that department reached out to the man to know what's actually happening, and the man was like if the department doesn't do anything about his brother, he will go to the owner of the school to plead his case.. I think you know what will happen next if he has his way.. Grade is good really but connection does most work in this Nigeria.. Have head a lot of stories where connection prevail over grades.

I was in a queue at this ATM gallery to withdraw money, then this top military guy with escorts just walked pass the queue, went straight to the only ATM dispensing cash to withdraw. I told him sir, you can't jump the queue, join the queue and wait for your turn or I will drag you on social media.

His boys wanted to come intimidate me with their guns and big chest, I screamed at the top of my voice, if you dare use that ATM without joining the queue, I will drag you on Twitter.

Then I told the bank security guys there that I will also report them to their bank for allowing this level of corruption in the bank and make sure they lose their jobs. They begged me that I should allow the military guy withdraw, that it won't take much time so he'll go.

I said, no! no!! no!!! While I was resisting, everyone on the queue started murmuring in support of my strong resistance to the disrespectful top military guy.

Then the chief security officer came and told the top military guy to follow him so they'll allow him use the ATM meant for staff only. I told the CSO that this top military guy is going no where until everyone who came to withdraw money from this ATM have withdrawn their money. The top military guy gave me this stern look and asked me: "do you know who I am?"

I said: "Die it, with all due respect, who goes you? Then the Chief security officer of the bank told the military man to please join the queue, that there is nothing they can do for him now. Then the top military man sluggishly joined the queue, by this time, the queue is now 5 times longer than it was when he came. I said I I'm not going to leave here until everyone on the queue before him make use of the ATM.

The queue is moving now and I can't type fast any longer because I'm being shaked and congratulated by everyone on this ATM gallery for standing firm for everyone's right
