why is Bakare making excuses in his calculation for them? No need to be lenient.

Raw fact is:
1. WELL OVER N617BILLION IS MISSING, EVEN BY THEIR CALCULATION ('cause it's same 34m litres we share with neighboring countries + We are told our refineries produce btw 30%-60% of our local use)

2. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR ALMOST 300 TRUCKS TO LEAK THRU OUR BORDERS EVERYDAY.
I mean, even with the leniency, over $2B is still missing, seems like these guys just rush to play with figures on air, Nigeria is a joke!

I think the removal is a good thing still. If the govt. reverted it with the way things are going in the country it cannot be sustainable in any way, and the economy might end up in a bad shape. Leave analysis aside, and ask yourself  where is the buffer zone for the economy that relies so much on oil? The truth is clear and close, just that people want to follow the bandwagon for obvious reasons. I do think Nigerians should be concerned about their future than this part of money put in the pockets of few affluent importers and marketeers. In other word, there is every reason to let the subsidy go and fight corruption from there through accountability for what the money realized from it being used for and others - That would make a better sense - not what this man is inputting into people. In a nutshell, there has always been a fuel subsidy in Nigeria. We have seen that during the few changes made in the past be other administrations trying to remove the subsidy only to increase the pump prices little for adjustment measures.

We as a people should learn to think about our future - what it holds for the future generations!

I have absolute respect for him for going this far, he's done very well for that, I mean, compared to our other ' enjoying spiritual leaders, he's an A list!

@damola1

Tunde Bakare is a Nigerians, he feels the pain we all feel too. Politicians are also Nigerians. So if they want to use this crisis to score political points, it is good strategy as far as figures are logically correct as we all can see right now.
ok oh, As of now, Mr. Bakare is not a politician, he's under the umbrella of Save Nigeria Group or Occupy Nigeria, tomorrow, he'll be under CPC, He can't be here and there, that's my point, I will never die for such a two timer,
PoliticsRe: Facts You Must Know By Pst Tunde Bakare by damola1: 8:02pm On Jan 15, 2012
Really, simple, very straight analysis. He didn't generate any new figures anywhere, just using their figures against them.

The only problem, I have got with Tunde is that, you can't be an activist and still be a politician. You either choose one!

When you go about with statements like : ", if what you have is not illegal stuff then post here, ", it leaves a very bad impression.

I notice long ago that the OP has not responded to earlier post, hence partly the reason I did not want to post the witness cases here. I have done so in two other bigger UK Immigration fora, where we have Solicitors and Immigration experts commenting and they never made such allegations like you did. In fact a Ghanian applicant post a reply of how the case witness help her Solicitors in winning Her case in court.

Anyway, I think this will be my last post on this thread. And if this attitude continues, (and I am sure it is not only me that has pointed this out as I have seen some others do same last year) some of us might just call it a day with the Travel Section here on NL.
Please don't go. Bros GEJ, cannot be chopping Gucci Rice and Versacci YAM if our national assembly no approve am na. We hav a set of National Assembly members that have no reason been there?

Wen Oga Sanusi said that we where spending a whooping 25% of our budget on them, no NLC/TUC yarn, no body yarn, it was not even news, lets seize this opportunity to make them review that 2012 budget well well by reducing all reducables, we shuld nt accept anything other than agege rice and umuada new yam for GEJ and NASS members, that will be progress. But I doubt if we will occupy Naija for this. Once fuel is 65 naira no body cares anymore, we r only concerned with wht hits us, once we r fine nobody remembers anything anymore.
I don't think strike will solve that one, and I really don't think Nigerians are capable of striking for that one, do you have any solution, other solution in mind we could use to solve that major wahala?

These are the things we should have been demonstrating for, not trying to take the country backwards and enslave ourselves and our kids for N65 per litre.
There is no reason on Earth why the NASS should be costing the nation approximately the same as the subsidy. GEJ can't force them to reduce their salaries (cos its an independent arm of govt), but we can.
GEJ dey chop gucci rice, 1B per year, ?, Fighting for that by strike won't work, how do we fix that?, any suggestions?

Please people Ngozi and Lamido are NOT  POLITICIANS.

They are are on your SIDE fighting CORRUPTION but our emotions are clouding our judgement.

---Emotions ke?, I paid: 8k to fill up a 4k tank, got nothing to do with emotions, FACTS, HEAD THINKING, not emotions,

Sanusi had been shouting since last year that the Federal Government is made to pay the PERSONAL expenses of the National Assembly members.

Whatever the subsidy N1.3 trillion or whatever, Pastor Bakare told us yesterday that the subsidy will be shared by the Federal State and Local governments.

If you do not trust the Federal Government, the State  Government and your Local Government then there is a real issue.

---We absolutely DON'T TRUST THEM, What have they done with what they've got, how many people have been jailed for fraud, HOW MANY SIR?, how much has been gotten back, the problem is, these guys are the worst crooks in town!

Yet after all the rhetoric, it is government workers that will CLEAN the streets of the filth that the protesters left behind.

--- Paid with my taxes!

With one breath we hate governments but some are doing quite well within the limits of their BUDGETS.

--- Please name the some doing quite well,

You reading this post MOST LIKELY send your children to private schools. Why not to SUBSIDIZED government schools ? Because subsidies killed our public education at all levels.

--- subsidy didn't kill it, thieving and corrupt public officers did, and since they've got God fathers, no body ever prosecuted them!

Your PHCN energy is subsidized and that is why it does Not and will not work.
Obasanjo did NOT blow US$16 billion on subsidy. His NIPP plan was on course until, wait for it, the NLC and The House of Reps (Ndudi Elumelu) started a useless probe that deraile the program. The same NLC is till stalling the program

--- crap!, the review was after his tenure, and are you saying it's wrong to ask questions?, no matter the good or bad, the beauty of democrazy is to ask questions!, questions let us know exactly what's going on.

Please remeber that there are processes and procedures for PUNISHING SUSPECTS. Speaker Bankole was alleged to have borrowed N40 billion, after spending the enire budgetary allocation, to spend on the members of the House of Reps. The case is in court (Judiciary). A fpormer Minister of Works is in court for stealing N70 billion.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE?, HOW LONG DID IT TAKE FOR JONATHAN TO BE DECLARED WINNER IN THE COURT, just name: 5 people that have been jailed in the last 3 years, name top 5 politicians that their properties have been seized and serving time, or better still HANGED!

People GEJ Cannot just ORDER that such and such be locked up. He can't.

Yes we are outraged but we have to work within processes.

I WORK with processes everyday!, but not the one, one over bloated fool just comes to steal away from!,

We need to bury the crooks, tighten the accounts before we suffer for my country Nigeria, we don't need more money, we need to managed the limited resources we've got, we need to maximise it, they need to show us what they've done with what we've given them,

Is it not a shame that it's after we complained that Jona had to reduce salaries by 25%, why not before?, Do you even know how much these fools earn?, They deserve to be shot on sight!

Nigerians would not make ngozi okonjo-iweala cry on national t.v. She and sanusi are making alot of sense. Instead of protesting the removal of subsidy, why not wait a year on, if we don't see anything on ground, we ask for the resignation of president GEJ government. As for now on GEJ, iweala and sanusi i stand, let subsidy go!!!!!
No doubt these guys know their onions, however, these guys are missing it,

40Billion is with Bankole, another 100Billion is Abacha, another 500Billion is with IBB, why can't we get our money from these guys, put them in jail, And don't forget, this same fools are still in power, !, all of them, why do I have to wait 1 year, for what we already have, there's massive corruption in all levels of government,

Each time I fuel up my SUV's the govt of Nigeria would pay 65 to 70 Naira per liter on my behalf. That is insane and unsustainable. My unemployed  brethren in the village don't get a tenth of what I was getting from the subsidy.  I don't even come from an oil producing community.I have not encountered an oil spill. People from oil producing communities can't run for governor in my state.  How can such nonsense not produce fraud and disaster like the so called subsidy has?  Our people admire the west,  like to go overseas and enjoy what rational and logical choices produce, but they insist on cheating and irrationality in their own dealings.  It is impossible for this subsidy to work without massive fraud, pure and simple.  I listen to and trust my technocrats Sanusi and Okonjo Iweala
I agree with you. But the problem we 've is not that we are not willing to suffer. But for whom?, where is bankole for God's sake?, where is Ibb?, Where is Obasanjo that blew $16Bn on electricity, this is the major problem. More resources means more chopping and more suffering for us,
