Family / Re: Many Wives Dont Greet Their Husbands In The Morning. How True Is This? by Dancebreaker: 1:16pm On Oct 28, 2023
My own idea is simple. We are not wiser than our ancestors/parents.

Our mother would greet our father and every other relative of our father (her in-laws or even call them her husband) irrespective of their age and gender. The younger in-laws can then knee down and greet her as mama.

Our kids observe what we do and that's how we imbibe culture.

Now, there are occasions when the wife might be very busy with something and you might see her first and greet.

There are very little things a wise woman can use to build her home.

A wise man should also know what is is really important to him/his marriage and correct a women with love.

This are my top 5
1. War and peace by leo tolsoy
2. The first blade trilogy.
3. The da vinci code by dan brown.
4.

Any list without War and Peace and, Crime and Punishment (Fyodor Dostoevsky) alongside Anna Karenina na fake. Three Russian books.
Not to include Candide by Voltaire shows it's actually an anglophone thing but barely included a few others to disguise.

At least since 1960, 9ja corruption has been bad and only got worse.

Murtala Mohamed destroyed civil service kpata kpata. He mass sacked those corrupt elements with a little conscience in 1975 and later we replaced them with very corrupt ones without conscience at all. Corruption has never looked back since.

9ja happened to Mohamed's good intentions.

Politics / Re: Why Naira Is In Free Fall – Olusegun Aganga by Dancebreaker: 12:06pm On Oct 22, 2023
seunmsg:
We don’t have the forex to defend the Naira quite alright but Nigerians are not helping matters. We have a dollar shortage crisis and Nigerians are busy stockpiling dollars at any amount simply for speculative reasons. What is going on is really scary.

We may hit 2k for a dollar before the end of the year with the way things are going. CBN needs to go back to the crude method adopted by Emefiele. Whatever it is they are doing with the PH and Dangote refineries, they should please hurry it up and start production. There will be a huge rally for the Naira once we stop importation of petroleum products. These are the short term measures to stop the free fall. Manufacturing what we need in Nigeria and for export is a long term solution.

The situation is a lot more complex now. We are borrowing too much to service debts. We are even borrowing to finance our huge recurrent expenditure. We are in arrears in dollars that we need to settle firms desiring to take out their profits.

These are very poor signs for a country unable to rely on large increases in tax intake such as income tax from millions of new employees annually or increase in millions of high earning companies. Yet demand for expensive imported goods, funding education of relatives and medical care abroad, increase, etc.

If FG wants to be honest, we are really in a tight spot. In a country where even a little currency devaluation causes considerable inflation, keeping the Naira relatively stable is imperative. Imagine how inflation will rise around Christmas once again this year.

Whether anybody likes or hates Obinomics, it's time for us to realise that we must drastically reduce importation, grow local production and gradually. Govt can subsidise locally produced goods for the time being.

What the hell do you mean by "Afemesan",looks like you wanna partake in that eboh.

Edo(Benin) and Esan are one. Or it is Edo,Esan and Afemai.
Well, in MidWest/Bendel, Edoid people like Urhobo, Isoko, Okpe and others were part of it. Why should there not be more states for Edoid people as the population grows?

There are many states with Hausa people, many with Yoruboid people. I see as the logical way forward. People can continue to evolve their identities as they wish.

Edo doesn't have an Oba. There's only one Oba and he's the Oba of Benin, not the entire Edo state.

Edo= Benin.

Benin or Edo did not begin in August 1991.

Long after Edo State is gone, may be after Afemesan state is finally formed, it will still be Edo=Benin.

We are waiting for various peoples to go their separate ways so that people can finally own the names that belong to them historically. May be we can then focus on development instead of dragging names or superiority.

That aside:
Eben/sceptre is not used anyhow in Benin practice. Some other tribes even us it in burials and other occasions. Each culture has its rules.

Izoduwa should have known better. He's a decent guy and will learn his lessons.

By the way the present nation state of Israel is not the only place exiled Jews were designated to return to it was the only place that it was succeful. Cyprus was even on of such places there were relocated to.
People forget that the Philistines (Egyptians call the place Peleset) of those days are not the Palestinians of today. People seem to forget that the people of the Philistine Pentapolis (Gaza, Ashkelon, Ekron, Ashdod and Gath (Goliath's hometown) were exiled like the Israelites. No evidence of them ever returning.

Today, all the modern Palestinians have is about 50% Canaanite genes, similar to Jews who were away from the area for about 1800 years.

The question is.. can one swear an affidavit on or over a forged document in this case(WAEC result) in order to authenticate or pass it off as legal?
Then the onus will be on WAEC and or school he attended to prove that the candidate that sat the exam is the same Atiku or not. This can't be too difficult. He sat the exam with other students, if indeed it was the same person.

Honestly, it's 9ja system that small things unnecessarily cause argument. You can have 5 middle names and at times some appear in some documents and not in others.

What matter are your genuine first name, surname and DOB. You can totally omit middle names or include any of them you like.

This is totally devoid of supporting one candidate/party or another.

Does it mean I can use a particular name on my school certificates and later on change it to another name with an affidavit?
Actually you can. Affidavit is a legal document. Under Oath. Usually you need to advertise it in a national newspaper too. If found to be untrue, na jail.

In UK, you can change your name daily if you wish, using deed poll. But must adhere to the law.

Only that in 9ja, our way nor too pure. Many do it for dubious reasons, so they should also check Atiku well well.

Well, Jack was a boy when he became HoS. So I will excuse his naivety at Aburi and in dealing with Core Northern military elements especially Murtala Mohamed that never hid his disdain for Jack.

Why he didn't sack Mohamed remains a mystery, just like why Shagari didn't sack Buhari.

Too many Nigerians (Igbo are still Nigerians as of today) died under his watch for a Nigeria where Biafra and Yoruba Nation agitations are still very much alive over 50 years later.

At least 25% of Nigerians must be such. Remember that the North has more tribes than the South. Adamawa, Taraba and Gombe alone have more than 100 tribes combined.

She just left to the said friend’s house.

Is it really right? What would you do in my shoe??
Never ever trust any woman. I repeat: Never ever trust any woman. No matter how serious minded or innocent she appears to be.

Some of us learnt our lessons the hard way. Don't be like us.

They bank on men's trust to mess about.

Take it or leave.

She has no respect for you. Unless she houses and feeds you. A female colleague more important than you is not the reason she went out. It's a ruse.

God bless the very few good women out there.

in all your getting, get education, in a bid for desperation, you sound uneducated, there are communities speaking Benin alone that got their enogie that same year, in fact in that year five communities got their enogie in 1988 the same year ologbo got theirs.

If the Oil companies in Ologbo recognize itsekiri as whatsoever, i don’t have any fact on that, i can’t play into your hands, there are several versions of this history and there are thousands of Binis who call Ologbo home and nowhere else. That is what matter to us, you cannot take their land anywhere, they will rather die than have that happen.

The material never talked about an itsekiri ownership of Ologbo, it talked about the fact that there are itsekiri waterside villages after ologbo. There is a comma after ologbo, and there is and

“South of Benin city was the Benin sapele road which passed through Ologbo, and Itsekiri waterside villages
Nor mind that guy. I physically knew Ologbo well enough before HRH Dr. Ekiawogho Akenzua was made Enogie. The Oba can today appoint any prince of his choice to become the enogie of any community he feels needs that kind of leadership. At his own discretion only.

There are many villages that have no Enogie till today. But virtually every Village has an Odionwere. Even the first leaders in Benin were Odionweres. Oba/king came later as society developed, expanded and needed a more central power.
According to history, even the first Ogiso was formerly an Odionwere.

Some villages were previously not large enough to warrant an Enogie. Others were strategic in the service or product they rendered to the kingdom that the palace wanted a more direct control through the Odionwere. Additionally, some communities had an Ohen or Priest/Chief Priest which the Oba appointed and some hereditary but confirmed each time by the palace. That provided enough leadership.

Udo community has an Iyase and Uwangue as deputy. It has no Enogie. Though the Iyase act as a quasi-Enogie, but strictly speaking he is not an Enogie and not a member of Enigie conference. This has been the case since the demise of Arhuaran, the giant Benin prince and last substantive Enogie/duke of Udo.
