Eunoiaa:

Roles can be flexed but can't be changed...so a man can become feminine when he loses his job, and a woman can become masculine when she steps in to take care of the family, in other words? Okay.

I would have thought it's never possible for these "masculine/feminine roles" to be switched before lol.

Maybe you should read what I wrote again, this time, slowly.

This lady made this statement on a thread. I would love to know if that's how ladies think so I can also update Elon musk chip in my head with the latest IA grin

As a man, your sole responsibility is to take care of your woman and children. She can only support you and not be the bread winner of the home. Once a woman takes the role of a man in providing for the man and house, she loses her feminity and the man might becomes lazy such that whenever the woman ask for his help at home, he already believes she has money and should sort herself out.

Most times, such a man might even tell the kids to meet their mother when financial needs arises.

I know there are situation where a man looses his means of livelihood and the woman had to step in. During this period, the man shouldn't sit and become lazy, he need to put himself to work to sort things out on time, because some women might begin to talk to him anyhow. Let us all know that roles can be flexed but can't be changed.

We should also know that provision doesn't kill a man, it is the inability to provide that kills a man faster.

We should look around us, even in our neighbourhood where the woman is the bread winner of the house, its either the man becomes lazy and even chase women without regards to his wife or the wife and kids disrespect the him because he can't fulfil his basic responsibility at home.

So to that lady's opinion, I think I go with her.

If PH starts production this month as promised, it'd futher endanger their speculations as dollars would futher crash. They'd rather sell off the old stock as fast, rather than the waiting game.

Starting is not the issue. Do we even have the available resources to produce. As of today, the govt is saying there is no crude oil for PH refinery to process. You may also know that Dangote had to import crude oil for his refinery.

However, irrespective of this issue, i hope the govt would find a lasting solution to it.

Cheaper ke, you can still get spacious gated mini flat between 150k to 250k in Ikorodu.

At the end of the day, one will pay more in terms of transport. So total calculations will sum up to what he was running from.

Rent in lagos is crazy.

My office is in Yaba and what I've been seeing is way above my budget(400-500k)

How can mini flat be going for 1.2m excluding other charges.
I am seriously considering going to ikorodu since I only have to come to work 3 times a week.

Is this feasible or are there other places where I can get something decent but closer than Ikorodu.

Those who are experienced please do share.

Mods.. Thank you.

Instead of relocating to Ikorodu, try Egbeda. Its closer to Yaba than Ikorodu and cheaper in terms of house rent. I have a friend who stays in a mini flat and pays 350k yearly. You are certain of at least 14hrs of electricity daily.

Business / Re: What exactly Is The Benefit Of Floating The Naira? by daneni1(m): 9:19am On Feb 14
malali:
Cheaper Exports: When the Naira is devalued, it becomes less valuable compared to other currencies. This makes Nigerian products cheaper for people in other countries. Think of it like selling your cool toy cars to friends abroad at a lower price. More exports mean more money flowing into Nigeria!

Expensive Imports: On the flip side, devaluation makes foreign toys (imports) more expensive for you. Imagine your favorite video games suddenly costing more because they’re imported. This encourages people to buy local toys instead.

Boosting Local Industries: When local toys (goods and services) become cheaper for foreigners, it helps Nigerian businesses grow. They can sell more, hire more people, and contribute to the economy.

Tourism Advantage: Devaluation makes Nigeria an attractive travel destination. Foreign tourists find it cheaper to visit, explore, and spend money here. Imagine more tourists enjoying Nigerian culture, food, and music!

Investment Inflow: Investors like to put their money where it grows. Devaluation encourages foreign investors to set up factories, offices, and businesses in Nigeria. This creates jobs and stimulates economic growth.

Balance of Payments: Devaluation can improve Nigeria’s balance of payments. It’s like keeping track of how much money comes in (exports, investments) versus how much goes out (imports, debt payments). A positive balance is good!

Inflation: Devaluation can lead to higher prices for everyday items (inflation). Imagine your pocket money buying fewer candies because prices went up. But controlled inflation can be healthy for the economy.

Reducing Debt Burden: Nigeria owes money to other countries (national debt). Devaluation makes it easier to repay those loans because the Naira is worth less. It’s like paying back a smaller amount.

Competitiveness: Devaluation makes Nigerian businesses compete better globally. Just like you try to win in video game tournaments, our economy competes with other countries. A cheaper Naira gives us an edge!

Learning Opportunity: Finally, understanding devaluation teaches us about economics. It’s like leveling up in your favorite game. By knowing how money works, we can make smarter decisions for Nigeria’s future!

On the issue of cheap export and also boosting local production. Let's take the case of rice for example, although when the Buhari administration ban the importation of rice, this was suppose to increase local production at a cheaper rate, what we got to experience was that even the local produced rice was more expensive than the foreign one.

With our large population, we can't even produce for ourselves when it comes to farm produce, farmers would want to export their produce instead of selling to the citizens, thereby causing price increase of these produce due to limited supply. I think this is the cause of what we are currently experiencing. No wounder Niger state had to stop the loading of truck from the farm.

For this floating of currency to work effectively, we need to increase production for the growing population. If not, farm produce will keep increasing in price on a daily basis.

Health / Re: Menstrual Cramps Disturbing Me Badly. Please What Can I Use For It? by daneni1(m): 9:49pm On Jan 06
Jewessgratitud3:
I suffer severe menstrual cramps and it's really taking a tow on me. Like I no longer look forward to having my menses because of the pain and discomfort that comes with it.

The only thing that stops the cramps is felvin but it makes the flow three times heavier than normal to the point that I'll start feeling dizzy. The last one scared me cos after taking felvin, on the second day I was changing diaper every 5 mins. (Yes I use diaper cos pad no longer holds my flow. ) At a point I stood up and it's as if the whole blood in my system gushed out and I nearly passed out. So I said I wasn't going to use felvin again.

Now, I didn't use felvin this time and the flow is normal but I've been crying from pain since yesterday. It's like labor pain and im tempted to take felvin but when I remember what happened the last time, I'll ditch the idea.

Please what can I use to stop the pain that will not increase the flow? Please help with remedies that work.

Just take water melon, the pain will subside.

Health / Re: Male Infertility!!! Share Your Experience/success Story. by daneni1(m): 1:22am On Dec 26, 2023
It was last month I came here to rant about my sperm issue and the inability to impregnate my wife. I am here again to appreciate God for blessing I and my wife this month of Dec with a positive pregnancy result.

For me, although the specialist I contacted prescribed addyzoa for me, I also changed my diet. I took less carbohydrates and more proteineous food. Eg, I could eat up to 6/8 eggs in a day. I also advised my wife to eat more eggs. We engage in intermittent fasting once a while.

I will never disregard the place of prayer, not that I am that spirit koko oo. I just woke up one night and cried my eyes out and made my request known to God. I kept reassuring my wife that I know that before the end of this year, God is going to bless her with pregnancy.

I pray God grant everyone here their heart desires too.

Merry Christmas and a happy new year in advance Nairalanders.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Share Your Experiences Working In A Private Company In Nigeria" by daneni1(m): 1:11pm On Nov 20, 2023
emekabassey:
My story is going to be long and the experience is far from pleasant

I worked for Fouani NIgeria Limited, the customer service department.
The manager is Lebanese, most will think this is enough justification for the way he acts but all other deartments in the company(that I know of) all have Lebanese managers but their story is so different from ours aside from the general issue of not giving employment/appointment letters, most these complaints is peculiar to that department of the company

Our manager does not allow any form of interaction amongst worker as you can be terminated for turning your head in the office, as in say you just turn neck o. Someone was terminated for laughing after office hours, work don close o and baba say the guy laugh and the next day na termination straight. Your job security depends on his mood, as he might just decide to terminate you with the excuse of 'we dont want you anymore'

Approval of leave is at his mercy, I can remember a staff, although she was due for 1 week leave, this man denied her despite the fact that this lady was seriously ill, he made her come to work even with the drip connected to her body as he told her she will be terminated if she doesnt work. This lady fainted twice at work that day and had to choose her life by resigning.

This is just one of the many cases of staffs that were terminated because they were absent from work because of illness even after informing he resumed with a medical report after being unable to come to work for 2 days and in this man's word "sorry, you can go home and rest. You will see your salary at the end of the month" That was the end of it.

This man has made the work environment so toxic and it is not strange to see staffs crying after leaving his office as he talks to staffs as if Nigerians are lesser humans, he called a teamlead a slut and accused her of sleeping with her team members because she does not deduct staff break, he threatened Samiat and promised to destroy her because the young lady wanted to quit and go for her youth service.

This man makes it his office policy to to limit staffs restroom usage to 7 minutes, anything beyond this can get you break deductions, warning letters and even termination. Whereas he who sets the rules spends 30 minutes in the restroom (You and I know that no one can control nature).

A Muslim staff was terminated for dosing during ramadan(this man na muslim o, and he prays 5 times daily) and so many others that I can't mention all that have face similar cases on a daily basis. He employs today and terminate tomorrow with a reliable reasons. There is a post on nairaland as far back as 2020 about this man.

Work time is Monday to Saturday 7:50AM to 5:30PM with no visible compensation for working overtime instead he tells you he is doing you a favor and you will get as much as 5,000 deducted from your salary which is more than double of our daily income.

Staffs break are deducted x3 of the minutes they came late to work despite the fact that their salaries will be deducted for same reason. I heard they protested against that recently and the break deductions has been stopped and replaced with more salary deductions for being late 1 minute past the resumption time of 7:50am, not even a grace period of 10minutes.

I made a more detailed post some weeks back on this man, e no easy at all.

If you have an advice for the people still there and know of a way for these ill to be corrected, please reach out and drop your comments as every bit of info here has evidence to back it up

I got an offer with this firm after my service year in 2021. They actually waited for me to collect my discharged certificate and I was suppose to resume with them. Few days to when I am suppose to resume, that was how I got another offer that was twice the pay they were offering me. That was how I never resumed there again. Thank God, I didn't join them then.

God we do it for us, I am from 13 million sperm count to 33 million now and I have been taken drugs since April. This thing has been the most difficult thing I have experience in my life, the money I am spending on lab and drugs is very much. I am only hoping on God and he will do it for us one day. My wife is also very okay. My wife inlaws now knows what is happening to me and I feel so ashamed of my life and I can't even stand in front of anyone because they all have their children. God almighty will see us through.

The grace I am enjoying when it comes to cost of spending is that I am under HMO provided by my organisation. Its just few of the drugs that are herbal which are not approved by the HMO that I pay for.

From my little research about this sperm issue, one is advised to avoid junk food, alcohol and smoking.

Amen to you prayers ooo. When I dey date my wife, I dey avoid getting her pregnant, now wey we marry, weytin I feel say go easy come dey take time. I believe that before the end of the year, God will grant out heart deisres and bless us with our own children. Amen, in Jesus name.
