I met this girl last year december, beautiful, very comited to church, and she had all characteristics of what I want in a woman or so it seemed. I approched her, she liked me too, we started going out. I just got out from a very messy brakeup so I really was tired of dating, I told her I want to get married thats my intension and we should start working towards it. She said yes.

I met with our pastor, he basically warned me about the sister, she is nice but can be very arrogant, if I was sure this is what I want because there is no turning back, I said yes! (Love dey shark me).

Fastforward to now. This year has been a very challenging year for me financially. This she knows very well. She insisted we do the wedding by october, I told her it would be too soon, im not financially prepared for that. But I really love this girl, and I wanted her to be happy, and also I couldn't wait for her to be my wife (love still dey shark), so we finally agreed for december, even though its going to be a big financial strain on my part.

I had all the plans to raise money worked out, to cut the long story short suddenly things nose dived in business. My financial pathner had some personal challages and had to pull out funds.

She was able to raise some money from her office, but now she puts me down with her words, castigating me, feeling superior because she feels I need her. She says words that are too hurtful that I have to talk myself out of low self esteem.

The painful part is that all my friends and family members warned me about this, I didnt listen.

Now I think she has become a monster, I wish I could but a stop to all these, I really dont need to get marraid right now. I dont even know hownit will be like to live in thesame house with her.

I have always wondered why this very nice lady is still single at this age(age witheld). But now I think its her arrogance that has probably driven away all her potential suitors.

Pls I need advice, feel free to be harsh if need be

This government has failed in the fight against Boko haram! The earlier they admit it the better. This is no longer the issue of politics or party affiliation. The problem we have in this country is that we play politics with everything; the previous regime solicited the services of some South African mercenaries when they discovered that the Nigerian Army lacks the capacity to defeat boko haram and the result was a drastic reduction in the activities of Boko haram. The APC government came in and in order to tap into the change mood sweeping across Nigeria, sent the South African mercenaries away without taking time to evaluate their impact in the fight. Now we are now worse than we were before. The government has failed in its primary duty of protecting the lives and properties of Nigerians and in saner climes; this is enough for a government to step down.

The accident happened around 2am today tuesday 27th October. Three vehicles were involved.

All the occupants of the bus was said to have died except for a baby. The bus and the small car in the gutter were from crossriver states and they came to onitsha to buy stuffs; they were returning to Cross River state. According to eye witnesses, the big truck caused the accident.

It was said that the traders have started their journey back to Cross river states when they decided to follow that road (as they were told that robbers were robbing at upper iweka that night). Their bodies have been deposited at St Edwards Mortuary Obosi Anambra.

This life is just a vanity! Temi Omolabake died last night October 26th in a motor accident in Zamfara state on her way back to Sokoto from Sango Ota, Ogun State. I am 28 and married to a 35yr old youngman whom I love so dearly. We are blessed with 2 kids and most material things one can pray for. My marriage is 5yrs with just minor issues that do come up once in a VERY LONG while.

The former governor of Ekiti State, Dr Kayode Fayemi has been dragged to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and then Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission (ICPC) over alleged fraudulent practices, running to over N20 billion.

The Save Ekiti Coalition (SEC), which made this allegation, wrote petition dated September 26, 2014 to the EFCC and ICPC and the petition was submitted in Abuja on September 29, 2014.

The petition signed by SEC Secretary, Comrade Oke Ayodele was titled; “Complaint of fraudulent practices against Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi and others: call for investigation and prosecution.”


The group said the frauds were perpetrated through N2.6 billion construction of new civic centre, N383.9m earthwork for new governor’s office, diversion of State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) and Local Councils funds through contracts worth N4.2bn, inflation of road contracts worth over N10bn and diversion of N1.2bn FADAMA fund.

The petition read in part; “Contract for the construction of a New Civic Centre was awarded to TIANJIN-YUYANG Construction Eng. Limited on August 30, 2012 at the cost of N2, 573,584,395.75, while Consultancy on the construction was awarded to CASA Nig Ltd on June 11, 2012 at the cost of N137, 611,325.07.

“Curiously, as at the end of 2012, a sum of N643,396,098.94 (representing 25% of total contract sum) had been paid to TIANJIN-YUYANG Construction Eng. Limited while the consultant, CASA Nig. Ltd was paid N89,801,901.06 (representing 80% of total contract sum).

“In 2013, a sum of N350, 116,245.17 was paid to TIANJIN-YUYANG Construction Eng. Limited, making a total sum of N993, 512,344.11 (representing 45% of total contract sum).

“Rehabilitation of 13km Old Garrage-Ado-Ikere road was awarded to Plycon Nig Ltd at N2, 369,833,077.15.

“Construction of 0.8km Old Garrage-Ojumose (Ado-Ekiti) road was awarded to Heartland Nig. Ltd at N866, 872,873.13.

“Using the State Public Works Corporation (PWC), rehabilitation 5km township roads were embarked upon in each of the 16 LGs. Contracts for the rehabilitation of these roads were awarded without any input from the respective LGs while fund for the project was deducted from the
local councils allocation. “For instance, rehabilitation of 5km roads in Moba LG was awarded for N368, 950,821.09, Ido/Osi LG for N329, 950,821.50 and Ilejemeje LG for N347, 914,157.68. Apart from the PWC, cronies of Governor Kayode Fayemi were also given the contract. Most of the road projects have been abandoned.

“In 2010, the World Bank in collaboration with the Federal Government released $7.5m (about N1.2bn) for FADAMA III Project. The State Government was expected to provide counterpart fund of N100m. FADAMA III was for LIVESTOCK farmers. “However, the N100m counterpart fund was not provided by the State government until 2013.

“Instead of using this fund for the purpose for which the World Bank and FG released it, the State Government set up a scheme called Youths Commercial Agriculture Development Programme (YCAD) and used the FADAMA III grant from the World Bank and FG to fund it.

6-10 YCAD farmers were purportedly given N6 million each while FADAMA farmers, who registered FUGs of Ten (10) farmers collectively applied for six hundred and ninety thousand Naira only (N69,000.00 per farmer) were left unfunded.

“There were just 142 YCAD members, but the government claimed they were 15,000. “The government also claimed that it bought NINE Tractors at N98m and constructed abattoir for N18m. However, the tractors claimed to have been bought with N98m were the ones supplied to Ekiti State by the federal government during the immediate past administration of Engr Segun Oni.

“Also, the N100m counterpart fund paid by the State government into FADAMA’s ECO Bank, Ado-Ekiti account was later returned to the government coffers.

“For FADAMA IV, a sum of $10.5m (about N1.7bn) was released in August, this year by the World Bank in collaboration with the FG for cassava plantation. Moves are now being made to siphon this fund.”

The following are tips garnered over university, nysc days and post graduation career life experiences. All tested and trusted.

However, If you have a contrary opinion, feel free to air, but note that your chances of changing my opinions are non-existent as all these tips have been endorsed by David De-Angelo, the Master Don Juan himself. 

If for any reason they don't work on the girl of your dreams, and she still friendzones or ignores you, dude, cut your losses, and move on...Haven't you heard of ''there are plenty fishes in the ocean''? ‎

1. Keep the phone calls short.

When you first start dating a girl or getting to know her, don't hang on the phone talking with her for hours at a time, discussing weather, NEPA, or her favourite size of indomie (small, medium or hungryman) . If you do, you'll be indirectly communicating to her that you have nothing else better to do. That you're boring, sedentary, and don't have much of a life.

Yes, you may enjoy the conversations with her and getting to know her better. And she may seem to enjoy them as well. But you'll be doing much more damage to your budding relationship than good. Subconsciously, she'll be classifying you as a NO-LIFER.

Remember, this girl is looking for someone who will make her life more interesting. It's better to be perceived as someone who is busy, who does things, who has an interesting and exciting life. Three to Five minutes on the phone may be okay. (One to Two for students..LOL!) Ten minutes is really pushing it Bro.‎

Remember: peak her curiosity about you, make the call short, make a date to see her, then hang up the phone and discuss everything you want during the physical date even if it's How Messi is 100 times better than Ronaldo (Fact!) ‎

‎‎ Keep it short,sweet and simple.

2. Never say nothing.

Whenever a girls calls and asks you what you're doing... never say "nothing".

Always be doing something interesting, or just getting back from doing something interesting, or getting ready to go do something interesting "in a few minutes". 

Even If it means you saying you are reading an article online or an e-book on your phone when we both know you are lying down on your bed, scratching your hairy balls and chatting with her alone (Pls never use your Smart phone for only chatting, alongside you can actually read e books, nairaland career tips, news, job applications, etc on your phone while chatting). 

Never say nothing! If you are a working class guy, all the better, this tip is generally for the students (because they constitute a larger percentage of those in the notorious friendzone)



3. The 'K' factor.

It is usually expected that when chatting with a girl you just met and intend to score, she replies some of your messages with K. Personally, once you reply me with K, the chat ends. I will never initiate conversation again until you do. 

However, if I am in a good mood ( which happens rarely) I reply you with J. If you are stupid enough to ask what that means, I simply tell you that I thought we were reciting the alphabets. This usually sparks either of two reactions. She gets angry and ignores you, or she laughs. 

If she laughs, better for you. Humor covers a multitude of sins. Laughing is an aphrodisiac. Learn to be funny, in a not too (seeking for attention kind of way) if she gets angry and ignores you, move on bro, or do you really want to date Hitler's daughter?



4. Abbreviations and short messages.

Girls have been known to initiate conversations with unnecessary abbreviations and typing short messages like Gd am, Sup, mornin, aii, etc. The rule that works for me is, go a bit less.

Some people might not see this as bad, but trust me, this same girl has a guy on her list who she sends a thousand words to at once, and the guy replies with Ok. 

Please, Be that Guy!

Example.

If she types mornin, I reply with morn.

Gd am, I reply with am.

If she types a sentence with 5 words, reply with 4, If she types 3 words, reply with two.

Point is, whatever abbreviation or short sentences a girl gives, your answer should be shorter. If I am in a good mood, which I don't need to remind you happens rarely, I add a bit of humor to it. If she types Sup?

I reply with either egusi, banga or ogbono. Usually they ask what's that, and I reply, I thought you meant soup, so I was telling you the soup I just ate. 

NB# Never reply twice, until you get a reply to your last message. It's chatting (i.e between two people) Not you defending your project! 

Some guys type 5 sentences when she's not even replied the first and yet wonder why the only time they've seen the girls undies is when they visited her and used her rest room where she hangs them (for students).

5. Delayed Replies.

Nice guys, when you are chatting with a girl you just met, and she seems to be too busy to reply your messages when we both know she's giving you the new guy 'I am busy treat'. Just relax and study the chat. Check the reply frequency. Some girls wait as much a 30 minutes and some even a whole day before replying you. 

Meanwhile, when you met them in the bus, class (for students), office or even church, they couldn't keep thier hands off thier fone! 

Solo, abeg when she delays, look at the time difference, she used in replying you, multiply it by two, chat with other friends, then reply her when you are sure you have exceeded her delay by a hundred percent. I.e (x2) of the time it took her to reply you. Nuff said!

6. Never Apologize.

Don't get me wrong, humility is a great asset, and every man should know when he wrongs a friend, colleague, family member etc, He should apologize. However we are not discussing family or career here. We are discussing women. People who generally do not know what they want. People who end up dating the guy they once referred to as a jerk.

‎In general, it is bad form to always apologize in the early stage when you are asking her out. Many guys are guilty of this. For anything,  You can admit you were wrong, you can offer to make things right, but don't apologize. 

Back then in school my favorite line used to be, I'll make it up to you. Saying sorry sounds negative and boring. If you continue saying sorry, she would discuss you with her friends, saying you are always messing up. Try something more positive like I owe you one, I'll make it up to you etc. This for one keeps her wondering how you would make it up. You and I know that you saying you would make it up is bull crap...Unless you actually want to. Kudos, but nor finish you salary or pocket money for the students in the house. ‎



7. Don't take permission.

There is no such thing as overconfidence. There is such a thing as taking yourself too seriously. Do not ask permission to do or say anything. Never ask a woman if you can get her number, kiss her, hug her, hold her, etc. 

Be like Nike bro, Just do it!‎

Agreeable is boring. Infact when you meet her for the first time, as soon a she gets comfortable with the discussion, hand her your phone, don't ask for her number, just hand her the phone. If she's intelligent enough as I hope she would be (If not, why are you wasting both our time) she would know you need her number and give it to you. If she declines, move on bro, or do you really want to be with someone who doesn't find you interesting enough to want to talk to you again?

8. Read, Read and Read!

Reading gives you a place to go to when you have none. Reading broadens your knowledge and gives you a bit of a perspective in every discussion. Need I remind you that ladies love smart guys? Have an opinion, give a suggestion, have a clue about what she's saying. Know everything about your career or course (for students) or business (for business men) and a little, even if it's veneer knowledge of a whole lot of other things. 



9. Use Google

You would be surprised how people under utilize google. Add google to your bookmarks. As soon as that pretty girl you are hoping to score starts warming up to you, she starts to ask you some questions. 

Google helps you answer some, google helps you not to ask her stupid questions. I once asked a smallie who was still in school, the course she had in class that day, and she mentioned the course (not the course code), a 300 level english language course. I never heard of it, but quickly googled it, and wikipedia gave me answers, I just summarized the surface of the course for her, and she typed hmmm....guess what that meant? How come he knows when he studied Engineering (My Uniben Engine Men in the house I hail una) All other guys on my contact don't have a clue what this course is about. 

When she later asked me, I shoved it aside and told her, one of my " FEMALE'' neighbour's back then in school must have mentioned the course in one of our discussions. If it means lying, LIE! But be brief...notice that I mentioned female and typed it in capital letters. You would be surprised how easily girls get Jealous even with a story about another girl from years ago. This brings me to my final tip.

10. Jealousy

This is actually an old technique, but it seems many men do not understand it properly. However it works like magic.

If you are with group of ladies, do not always give the same girl the attention. You have to work on one of the traits found in almost every woman - jealousy!

If you like a certain girl in a group give her other friends attention too. You can give your crush attention also, but give her friends equal attention.‎ This will cause the girls to become extremely jealous of each other and you can take your pick!

For students, if you are attracted to a girl in your school, faculty, department, or even if you are working and get attracted to a girl In your organization and she doesn't seem to notice you exist. 

Use jealousy to get her attention.

You can do this in a subtle way, point is, make her see you having fun with another girl. If she ever asks you who the person is to you, grin sheepishly and say, she's just a friend. 

Jealousy works better when you use her disadvantages against her. Trust me, no girl is a perfect 10. (except of course my beautiful wife!). Your dream girl could be busty, hipfull, assmatic, tall, light, dark, short, etc. 

Whatever she is, try your possible best to make sure your friend to be used to make her jealous has something she doesn't. If she's tall, light, and busty, with tiny hips (lol) make sure the girl she sees you with, even if short, black and ugly, has WIDE hips. You would be shocked how an unexpected complex sets in. 

If you are ever forced to introduce both of them to each other, smile (Always smile, mischievously if possible, except when you are owing me money, then don't! )  and say meet my friend, no shaking of hands with your crush or hugs, instead give her some light KINO (my favourite, but topic for another day) and walk away with your hipfull friend. I assure you, your crush would never forget those hips, she would go home and stare at herself on the mirror, and would eagerly seek an opportunity to talk to you again so as to know if you are hitting those hips or not. ‎

It doesn't have to be hips. Just find one character or trait your crush doesn't have but the other girl has. It could even be a sense of humour.



Final tip. Don't allow her know these tips, and If by chance your crush is on Nairaland and she sees this, be prepared, the movie Two can play the game might help you...because clearly I cant.

These tips are not intended to promote being a player. I for one is married and faithful to a very beautiful woman who I probably would have had friendzone me if I didn't know all these. However I assure you, better to a player than to be a solo!..But if you choose the player option, remember your lean salary (workers) and your GPA(students)

Am not here to bash any girl or anything but with personal experiences here and there, Inoticed my assertion above can be nothing far from truth. Some of these girls actually quantify the riches or standard of a guy with the car he drives... Or if he even has one at all. A guy with a car has half of the "toasting" job pretty much done easy for him cos of his car.

ONE OF MY MANY EXPERIENCES:
I was at a garden around my neighborhood having drinks with friends when i saw this beautiful girl walked in,i called on her in the most respectful way i can but she acted like no one was talking to her,i stood up and walked up to her trying to spark up a convo but again she snubbed me(almost giving me the "talk to the hand" thingy,while looking at me head to toe).I left her site back to a round of mockery and laughter by my tipsy friends.I took the shame thinking "what went wrong", "Am i not handsome,charming or articulate enough"?.I noticed her friends came later on and it was excitement and laughter from them,whilst occasionally pointing towards our direction and the loser(Probably me)...I don die!

To my surprise,days after,i was 'driving' out of my hood when i saw that same girl,i honked my horn and parked right beside her.Before i could whisper to myself 'pls no more embarrassment from this girl!'...she stopped and was actually looking excited,she greeted me "Good afternoon" more than twice when i pretended like i didn't hear her the first two times.More surprising was,before i could say a word she immediately asked me(with a wide grin) "am i not the guy from the other day,the guy from the garden?" And am like "yea" next thing she started apologizing like her life depended on it. Damn! Magic! I thought to myself.

Note:I got to know this girl very well afterwards,she is 20 and by all standards not a runs girl.

I probably wouldn't have gotten her attention if it wasn't for the car.Smh!

It has not being confirmed in any of the laboratory that she is HIV/AIDS positive. But a reliable source close to her affirm to me that she is a victim. Yes! I would have Carried out a test for her but if she refuses the test, my relationship with her will be retarded. Because i will conclude that she is really HIV/AIDS positive.

A local chief in the area told Saharareporters that the Lekki Free Zone Ltd called in anti-riot policemen of "Mopol 49" to kill the protesters because they had insisted too long ago against forceful acquisition of the community land by the Lekki Free Zone Ltd for the construction of a large petrochemical refinery owned by Mr. Dangote. The chief said the Mopol were led and supervised to the protest scene by Managing Director of the Lekki Free Zone Ltd, Mr. Disu.

But Mr. Disu was also among those downed as the police officers guarding him and protesters clashed, according to the local chief. One of the police officers was also feared dead. The community has been taken over by soldiers reinforced to the community as the crisis escalated.

The village is currently being raided by Nigerian troops sent to the community as a result of the crisis. Many villagers have vacated the village out of fear.
Habib Aruna, who is the Chief Press Secretary to Governor of Lagos state, Akinwunmi Ambode told Saharareporters that the governor had just addressed the media over the crisis. He confirmed that Mr. Disu died in the fracas stating that his body has been deposited at the Lagos State University Hospital for a post-mortem.

This family have got 2 kids and the kids lack parental care because the man and wife come in late.

The issue of Nanny is out of the option because they don't trust nannies and someone must resign to take care of the kids..

The problem here is that the wife earns four times(400%) the man's salary and the ladies salary goes a long way to sort the family expenses.

This girl in my area was hanging out with my friends and then she started bitching on me. That she hates me. I like forming. "Everytime he's dressing like an Americana and he doesn't even greet people" That, what am I even feeling like sef?

This is not my write-up, bro. Came across it while exploring the net and decided to share with you guys.

When will the goat be strong enough to kill a leopard? Would remain not just a proverb but a rhetorical question because a generation of confused youths have allowed themselves to be mere pawns on the political chess board in our society.

What I find disheartening is the seeming inexorable rise in demonstrations and protests among the youths, in solidarity to those politicians supposedly painted with the tar of corruption.

It is becoming very difficult to fathom the bone of contention of some species of humanity in youth forms, whose stock-in-trade is to barricade the streets and institutions to wail in support of our permissive and profligate politicians, regardless of what the person is being accused of. Could such acts of unflattering servility be passed as fool hardiness or unquantifiable stupidity?

The one that defies not just logic but also philosophy was the inexcusable manner a generation afflicted by the worst side of corruption, last week Tuesday, barricaded the National Assembly complex and queued desperately like pipeline vandals in support of the embattled senate president, Bukola Saraki, who is facing trial over 13 count charges, including false and improper declaration of assets to CCB when he was governor of Kwara State— 2003-2011.


After watching the show of shame, I weeped for those faceless and incapacitated youths of my generation who could best be described as “slaves in love with their chains”. They have without any modicum of shame allowed themselves to be used as an object of public ridicule by desperate politicians who are on their way to public odium.

To those incongruous and venile youths, who have not only sold their conscience but have constituted themselves as crass supporters of impunity— nothing is wrong in such social opprobrium, as long as something will come out of it, no matter how meagre it is.

Stupidity is when we blame our past leaders for dumping us in this hell hole we found ourselves but when such persons are called to come answer corruption charges against them, we make an abrute and complete reversal of attitude, opinion or position in support of the accused persons.
It is an unmitigated irony that our political class who widened the inequality gap in the country to a large degree and those who are yet to find us a place in our national polity are the ones we have allowed to always toss us around like the devil’s mail bag.

To those youths that obstreperously trooped out in support of the embattled Saraki, given their demeanor, it is justifiably stupefied that mentality of wretchedness was at play.

With such mentality of wretchedness, will the goat (which has been existing in the same world with the leopard) ever be strong enough to kill the leopard?

So I know you'll tell me school first and face your books. Yes, I know all that. I'll be 17 in two months. I'm intelligent and i do very well in school. Most of you guys have passed through my stage and I hope you understand that this is the stage where you start having feelings for the opposite sex. So I hope this doesn't sound like I'm a bad girl or something like that. I don't want you to say things like "what is this generation turning into?" because I'm very sure it happened in the previous generation and there are evidences such as the single mums that i see that got pregnant then. Long story short, there is a boy i like and he likes me too and he just asked me out. I made it very clear to him that we are not going to get intimate and he is very okay with it. I know you'll say it can happen by accident but i know that the only place we can get intimate is at a lonely place so all I'll have to do is to avoid it. The thing now is that do you think getting into a relationship at 16 is quite okay. Mind you, I'll soon be 17.
