Because it's not compulsory to attend the ceremony... You can go to the university adminstration and request for your degree if you didn't want to attend the ceremony.

I have a friend who also did the same thing when she graduated in 2019.

You don't care because you probably have no friends.

I have two.

First one was when my best friend asked me to be her maid of honor for her wedding, I was so happy, but it's just a pity she's not happy for me now that things are going great for me.

The second one was my graduation, I graduated during the lockdown and the whole thing was online, I remember I was still in my pajamas... I didn't have to worry about getting an expensive dress and shoes, or getting my hair and nails done... It had not been too long since I got up from bed when I graduated...

Graduation is a once-in-a-lifetime moment and you missed it.
