That's good. I asked you to contact by e-mail but you didn't. You should have been here before this last weeks Monday. Most of the closer and best colleges would have been filled before you get here - it's never too late though. Let's hope you get a good one when you arrive. Your nigerian friend here willunderstand what I'm trying to say
Educational ServicesRe: Study In India (degree And Professional Courses) by DanIndia(op): 3:57pm On May 21, 2013
I think there is a link to my e-mail in the initial post. Please use it. I do not get on Nairaland every now and then. And the notifications goes into my junk folder. Send me an e-mail and I'll get back to ya.
And nobody at the Embassy can help you with a statement. You have to get a bank statement from a sponsor-er or your bank account.

iyobs7: I got admitted into Osmania University Hyderabad and my main cause off worry now is that
I went to ministry of Education for authentication and attestation of my results and they
refused to sign the papers because I dont have the Original certificate of my result cos
it was lost due to fire incidence, I even bought scratch which they use in confirming the result and I have
testimonial, letter of attestation from my secondary school, Statement of Result, photocopy
of the lost original certificate, the waec master list and even a sorn affidavit and yet
they refused to sign the attestation papers and they are requesting that I go to waec office
at Yaba to send the confirmation of result to them which I have done before when I sent a
confirmation to the university.

Naija really don tire me I swear cry cry cry
Seriously, that's absurd. I did my own Authentication and I only used the Statement of Result I collected from the High School I passed out ( and this was just last year August/September)..so something about the original result from WAEC is bs... maybe they want some tips lol.. and don't forget you also have to authenticate it at Foreign Affairs , they don't need it here in Hyderabad but the Indian High Commission there in Nigeria needs it.. don't worry, you'll just have to try again. Request to speak to someone on the inside, I'm sure they'll understand if you give them a good reason.. and by the way, I live in Hyderabad.. Looking forward to seeing you next month.

PS: Sorry for responding a bit late, the nairaland notification went to my junk folder

iyobs7: Thank God I finally got my admission letter today and please mr Dan, what are the required documents for visa?
OK, that's good news. What university did you get your admission letter from and there is not much for you to do anymore. The step that would take much time and stress is getting the Adm. Letter and in your case - it's sorted out. SO, all you gotta do is walk into an Indian Embassy with your Admission Letter and VOILA! Your 1 year student visa.

Probability ? I don't know. I don't work in the Registration Office so I can't say - but what I know is I've never heard of/seen anyone rejected.. as long as you clear your results, and are able to pay your registration fee - WELCOME to INDIA
iyobs7: What is the probability that someone will be admitted into the B.Sc Comp Sci?

Computer Engineering is a B.Tech course here which is a 4 years course. The other bachelors here in India are 3 years. And the course name here is Bachelors of Technology in Computer Science and Engineering B.Tech (CSE). I am not sure about the automation engineering but that's why we have Google, look into and let me know what you come up with. Please do feel free to contact me again with any questions you may have.

IT? you mean work in a Company here and get paid? I really cannot say much but the best thing for you is working your way out for maybe a 6 months visa and come for your training. I can help you arrange a 6 months study visa with my institute here.. and when you get here, walk into to a small shop to work as a substitute staff ( not 100% sure o, never tried it but heard of it) And that will at least go on your C.V.. and while doing that, study for your certifications.

Educational ServicesRe: I Need Admission To Study In Singapore, malaysia, indonasia by DanIndia(m): 5:14am On Feb 01, 2013
I totally agree with smile4kenn.
I was gonna try Malaysia but my friend advised me not to. The yahooze boys don spoil there finish, I've bumped on a few profiles of them on fb once and it's really what they say, they drive flashy cars and I wonder how they manage to do that, not even the rich guys in Malay drive the cars they drive. Indonesia too is good, but emmm, I've heard about the racism and all. I think it's no different than Vietnam. They don't welcome foreigners that much, and I am not talking about Bali Island. Bali Island is a tourist center and the occupants there are used to seeing foreigners every now and then so that's not being included in this. What if your school is in some other city where tourist never get to visit... and to say less, you're black. Dem go look you sotay you go wan comot school come back naija.
smile4kenn: Why no try Japan, Australia, Newzealand or even Korea, they are very good sites to study.

Malaysia has one of the best nursing schools in Asia, but the disadvantages of studying there overweighs the advantage. Students are treated like foreigners with tourist visa, but they have nice sites for fun.

Singapore is a very expensive country to live. I have been to singapore on vacation twice, and its very expensive. More expensive place to live and study than london. They have good schools but u must come with enough cash.

Indonesia is a no go area for Nigerians, Dont go there!!!! Bewared. If you really love urself and wanna be happy studying, Dont go to indonesia!!!!

Nigerians in the three country mentioned above are mostly tagged as drug dealers and 419ers( [s]but its almost true and they live large with fat accounts, Many of them even drive bigger cars than their politicians[/s])

no,. I do not mean India is better than Indonesia or Indonesia is better than India. I am only just adding more options to your list. If you'd want to study somewhere, you'll need to find out some info and it's better to either connect with someone or know someone where you're going. I've been here since last year and I pretty much know my way around.
Educational ServicesRe: I Need Admission To Study In Singapore, malaysia, indonasia by DanIndia(m): 4:48pm On Jan 31, 2013
To any one who is willing to study abroad, don't let anyone tell you - you won't be able to cope or maybe go through problems because of the language barrier. I've heard those stories and believe me, the more they overdose you with those stories the less are your chances of ever studying abroad. When I started my Admission Process to India. I heard the same stories, not just from friends.. even at the embassy, the guards said the same thing, India is bad, no job, this.. that. Only to get here and to find the opposite. Job opportunities for students aren't that broad here but at least you get to meet people - and when I say people I mean people that think out of the box, people that are gonna gear you towards expanding knowledge ... you get to realize that even Americans and Chinese are here studying.. if your heart is aiming for something - go for it.
Be it Indonesia or anywhere you chose, do it - like they say "you never know until you try"

I'm sure some dummie who doesn't have an international passport will raise up a complaint to this. - I dey wait una!
Educational ServicesRe: I Need Admission To Study In Singapore, malaysia, indonasia by DanIndia(m): 4:37pm On Jan 31, 2013
Yes, it is possible to use your B.Sc (Comp. Sc) as a prerequisite for your Masters in Nigeria.

I am not sure if this would be of help but are you seeking to study in Indonesia/Malaysia alone ? If you're not on limited chances, I'll advise you to maybe try India. Speaking of India, I study here in India and I find it very nice. I attend a World Wide Recognized University which is one of first 7 top universities in India.. and also a 3 year course for every degrees. If you'd like to try this out, you may drop me a note or quote my post. I'll be glad to help you out.

Emzybrown: what course do you study at india? How much do you pay? Which uni? Whats the location of the uni?
As at now, I just finished my Web Designing Course last month. It covered CSS, HTML, Photoshop, Dreamweaver and Flash. That was for a month and I paid 11,000 Nigerian Naira.. and this month I'm going in for my CISCO CCNA and CCNP. I start my degree mid this year and that's B.C.A and it's equivalent to N180,000.00.. and the location is Andhra Pradesh.

It's still the same thing as every other degree but better because it's from the UK and if it's a world wide recognized university.
I think it will gain you a higher chance of getting a job pretty quick. You know nah, our naija people like oyinbo school graduates. cheesy

India would be a better Idea. It's cheap to live here... and you're in the Computer line. India is the best bet for you.. and also incase you'd want to take professional courses too
EducationRe: Studying At Unisa; Pls House Comment by DanIndia(m): 4:22pm On Jan 02, 2013
I know about UNISA. I was in SA for a while.. so I think if you would want to study - its better you go for On Campus.. and if you want to go for something engineering. Why don't you try India ? They've got B.Tech Degrees.. and it's 4 years. Many engineer colleges offering it.

Do you have passion for I.T/Computing/Networking?

Do you wish you get certified as a professional?
Do you wish you study for IT abroad?

If you're up for a YES answer then no doubt INDIA is the place to go. Having been here since last year I can boastly say No Country has ever been so deep in IT training like INDIA, that's right - not EVEN the U.S.A.

When it comes to dealing, implementing anything that has got to do with I.T - INDIA is on the top list. Many Nigerians like me have seen it, and if I'll describe INDIA as the No. 1 Technology country, I'm pretty sure I'm not making a mistake.
I think I should just take some time and give you a brief intro about me.
Just so you know I'm not some wanna-be travel agent - I'm only here to guide and put people on the right path when it comes to Computing.
My name is Daniel and I formally reside in FCT Abuja. I am currently working on my Degree Program and also pursuing a Cisco Training on the side here in India.

There are many institutes here for IT training. Name the courses ... Java, Cisco, Juniper, Microsoft.. they've got it all.
There are also Degree programs also.. Computer Science.. B.C.A (Bachelors of Computer Applications.. and other courses too.. B.A, B.Com, B.B.A, B. Pharma). Not to mention living in INDIA is cheap, also the electricity is the best. Trust me, I have been to a few countries and I find the price here to be a minimum for what other countries will charge for a diploma degree.

Amount for the B.Sc here is only Rs. 35.000 which is equivalent to only N105,000 (yearly) and this is a world-wide recognized university.
There are also other courses that you can take with Aptech Computer Education.. courses such as the ACCP Pro 6 months training... and JAVA and so on.

There are also other combo courses that you can take with other institutes.. this I'll be listing out if you send me an E-mail. I can also share my mobile if you want some more info as I cannot share it on here.

If you are interested in any of the above courses you can put up a reply. I will be willing to help you process your admission from here and give you necessary support on how to secure your Student Visa to India as well as give you relevant information about living and coping in India.

Peace.
