Oh well I have already worked out a time that I think will be convenient for the Nigerian time zone which is 6pm. This should be good for you as you should be done with school before or around 6.
If anyone's up for it, I'm planning to conduct a session like today.

Mikeayus,

do you want to join us ? This is some serious stuff bro.
We are planning every day labbing and studies. Materials will be shared too and we'll be design, troubleshooting topographies too.
Do you have a reliable internet connection as the sessions will be conducted via Hangout ?

siegfried99:
Yes..kindly send the link
CareerRe: Cisco STUDY GROUP (online) by DanIndia(op): 11:11am On Feb 25, 2015
Do you have any basics in networking, at all ? Ip addressing or anything close to that ? Subnetting ?
It's OK even if you don't know it. The first 3 or 4 classes we'll be conducting will cover all that.
Are you able to attend a Google Hangout with your current internet service provider because this is going to be something like a Webinar.. where we'll share screens, webcams. And you'll need a good pair of headache and a knack for learning.
I'll send the link to join on here in a bit and you can join. It's somewhat a mailing list where you'll get news on when the next class is scheduled for and what to have ready.
siegfried99:
How do I go about that pls
CareerRe: Cisco STUDY GROUP (online) by DanIndia(op): 11:08am On Feb 25, 2015
Yes, you can study CCNA online.
You've got Network Simulators to handle the lab practical part.

So one can study ccna online?? Cool

Hey folks,

DanIndia here. I'm planning to start a study group on Cisco certifications... as of now, it will be purely basic stuffs - CCNA topics mostly.
If anyone is interested in participating and is up for some hardcore hours labbing and has a laptop with the required specifications to run GNS3 and Packet Tracer, and is looking to motivate others, learn with others then comment on this thread and let me know if you're interested.

P.S: This is no advertisement for a Cisco Institution or some course with an Institution or whatsoever. This is just a personal invitation to learn together as a group. No charges and there will never be. It's 100% free... and this will continue for a long time and will be sharing career opportunities too.

Let's set some fire, yes?
CareerRe: Cisco STUDY GROUP (online) by DanIndia(op): 4:42am On Feb 25, 2015
If you're planning to attend CCNA training and are thinking of paying an Institute then hold on on that thought.
For CCNA, you really wouldn't have to pay to pass it. You can self study online and can watch videos on CCNA online. Tons of them on youtube.
If you have a good and reliable internet connection, then please join us. Trust me, you never know until you try.
siegfried99:
I'm planning to attend ccna training ASAP..

TravelRe: General German Visa Enquiries Part 2 by DanIndia(m): 4:37am On Feb 25, 2015
Justcul, is that so ?
I think you might be right. I remember I once did a course search on daad.de and I didn't find anything on it but when I googled, I found about 8 of it listed but most of them were taught in german courses. Not so sure as to why so but your comment has got me thinking that's possible but on the other hand, EKE might be right too. He mentioned 90% which means that courses that are not listed on daad.de might exist too wink
Justcul:
In as much as i value your opinions on this thread my dear eke, the bolded "might not be correct".
there are many schools whose programs have not been listed on daad.de and they are very well recognized. some programms might be in german thats why you may not find them on the site.

Some other good schools and research institutes also offer good courses and are not listed on daad.

You just have to keep searching through the internet and with God all things are possible

as always, my 2 euros!
TravelRe: General German Visa Enquiries Part 2 by DanIndia(m): 4:32am On Feb 25, 2015
I'm not sure of other schools that offer those courses but you should follow what Eke asked you to. www.daad.de/en for courses and schools.
If it isn't listed on daad then I don't thik it exists. Check it out

Hey BJ,

That's great. We just finished an hour session. It was just me and my friend though. We just covered basics on updating terminals on GNS3 and creating basic topographies. If you'd like to join us, please let me know. But you'll need a reliable internet connection and a PC that can run GNS3 because that simulator sucks memory.

I love the concept, i would love to learn with you. i have always had it in mind to learn Cisco. i believe this is the opportunity that i have been waiting for.

Hi Guys,

I'm kinda new to this thread but not new to CCNA.
If anyone is interested to join a study online group for CCNA/CCNP please hola back. I'm planning to start a Cisco Study Online Group with a couple friends.. they are both CCNA certified and are preparing for CCNP R&S.
I'm not a Certified CCNA(yet) but I'm thoroughly versed with CCNA v1, I did the CCNAX training last year but I got busy with college and I couldn't do both as I major in core subjects. I'll be on a 2 months holiday (sometime in April) and afterwards writing the CCNA Exam.

If you'd like to join for hours of labbing, and studying together. Then quote and comment on my post... and let's start some fire!

P.S: We'll be doing video trainings and screensharings like Google Hangouts and other web apps; you'll need a reliable internet connection
spoilerx:
be very careful, a lot of training companies lie ,

they will promise internship or jobs ,but at the end of your training they will tell you stories.

years back I attended an interview for NOC engineer at mainone I was shocked they had never heard of TTC mobile before.(if only I had my CCNP then)

Yes, their training is good . but without a job huh?+

if I was you , with 150k go for ccnp/msce/ ccna SP or data centre or any vmware based cert training & do the cert exam.

go for training get hands-on experience with real Cisco devices . firewall, IDS, IPS systems

right now I dey find money to do either CEH or CCNA security.
TravelRe: General German Visa Enquiries Part 2 by DanIndia(m): 4:42am On Feb 24, 2015
You're correct.
Germany - the biggest economy in Europe (for now). The world of money and its system fluctuates.
Netherlands, Slovenia, Czech, Switzerland were once the continent shakers... now it is Germany. It might be a different nation next 3-4 months or so.
Germany is a very good country, I don't doubt that.

And I've read your previous posts about life in Germany and how they treat blacks.
In Germany, depending on where, there is a distinct possibility that you will feel racism. Some Germans are racist to a degree under the surface.
Some people will stare at you, like seriously, want to touch your hair even. This depends on how you take it (I don't think of it as racism) - It's because they've never met a black person in real life and are amazed to see such wonderful being.

Bon chance!
NellyGhenghen:
I'll write a full story of my experience here on the travel page as soon as I have things sorted. But go to Germany, its way better and has more to offer. Plus its the biggest economy in Europe.
TravelRe: General German Visa Enquiries Part 2 by DanIndia(m): 4:29am On Feb 24, 2015
Hi hadassaheke,

1. Since you hold a B.Tech degree in Physics, you have a high chance of being admitted for most of the courses related to the subject field (particular Natural sciences). If you're even looking to switch subjects, it is acceptable. There are tons of cases where B.Techs in Electronics/Electrical Engineering are even considered for M.Sc in Computer Sciences/Engineering.

2. I would advise you to take up a field that you have passion for.. something you would love to do and will enjoy doing. Don't do it for the pay because there is a tendency that if it pays well now, it may not, in the near future*
If you can do with Electronics or continue with Physics, and can handle designing and troubleshooting circuits then go for it. Its career scope is broad, you can secure a job in mostly every field - Power, Medical, Sports, Government... anywhere.!

hadassaheke:
tnx @ all for d answers.....pls il also like to ask d following questions:
1. suggestions as to d courses i can do directly in masters with my b.tech in physics without going for a PGD.......am sori to be disturbing .....o abeg i just de consider in case after m.sc i decide to come back to naija.
2. what can of field of study are prevailing over dere in germany......just in case i finish n i decide to stay dere n work wit my m.sc.........abeg o ogas at d top...mk una help me o.

Straight-forward and unbiased.
Ndyoo:
Eke I disagree with you. We're all matured and because someone is indispensable doesn't make him not to know what's right. I agree that sometimes Justwise looses his network as a moderator and I don't agree with him most times, but I just let it slide because of what he's doing generally. This is the problem with Nigeria. Because we think that some people are so special not to serve punishment because they belong to the class of high and mighty...That is corruption. You equate justice to everyone irrespective of who or what they're...

So Justwise, if you ban the guy...I do understand but if the length of the ban is too much, I will say you reduce it or you bring your a.ss down here and learn the german system so that you will start to do the work of the person you banned grin

And talking about insults, they were no way close to the words you used in your comments.. not at all.

EBELE,

Do you think NairaLand is a diner where the attendant says, it's time for you to go home and you crawl out like some sick puppy? Dudette, I'm surprised you're studying in Germany and still do not understand the initial comment.
This matter was buried long ago, why are you trying to dig into what's been long forgotten? You attend TUM, fine, I did not ask you to disclose where you study (this is the internet).

And for crying out loud, did you even read my initial post? How hard is it to understand what 70% and the word "chance" means!? I have seen some other girl posted the other day (I decided not to say a word because someone else responded to her), after I decided not to argue any further but this your comment makes no sense at all.

FYI, in a forum, people don't get banned/reported because of what they share; they only get banned if they violate the rules. Read the 1-21 rules of Nairaland. "70%" and a "chance" doesn't mean FOR SURE it is guaranteed. It means there is another 30% PROBABILITY that it may be the opposite. The only way you can prove me wrong is if you make that a 100%.

CHAI, which language make I use take comment again because English nor gree me explain again.

And stop sounding like an OP with your "while I am gone" biz.
ebele17:
Hi Guys, sorry for the long leave of absence. TUM is a freaking demanding school and they really mean business. While i am gone, i can see people have started giving misleading information to others. Please be careful esp. @ DanIndia. Stop this nonsense about accreditation and non accreditation with Uni-assist or not. It is wrong and if you give one more wrong info here, you will be reported and banned. I am currently in TUM and i DID NOT apply through uni_assist, so tell me my course is not accredited. Be very careful ooo. Someone sent a mail to me, crown or something is the user name. Can you please ask your question on the forum? I wasn't able to look at it because of my exams but now i am a bit free and will help anyway i can.
To all the other guys helping out here, keep up the good work and God will bless your endevours

Fighal, someone has gone to the UNI and advised you to apply to UNI Bangalorehuh According to my knowledge in Applications, such result is good for Comp Science but then it depends on the Credit Achieved. I hear the application is quite difficult these days. They only recognize C4 and above, not C5 and C6 downwards. If he has gone and it has been turned down for whatever reason then he could be right about Uni Bangalore.

Thanks Boss, u jst put a smile on my face this morning. sum1 in osmania actually told me he will go find out if I can be accepted with such result. nd he came bk nd gave me a big NO. he said I should try bangalore uni buh their fees ar quite xpensive. Educational ServicesRe: Study In India (degree And Professional Courses) by DanIndia(op): 5:45am On Feb 19, 2015
fighal, with your result, you're good to go.
The main subject prerequisites that they need you already have. And yes, it does involve a lot of further maths (someone told you this or you found out yourself!?).
Well, I would only advise you to still go for the course regardless of whether it is hard or not. I, too, did not have a solid foundation in maths but I still nailed it. You just have to study hard, devote time and you might even top it. It's hard but not impossible.
The other Computer Related course nor hold grand reach this Bsc Computer Science. Trust me on this. You can still go for the Computer Science and do well. It's not impossible. There are resources and if you can devote time to study it, you'll top it (100%)

fighal:
Hello Dan boss,
Please I want to study computer science at osmania university. My problem is that I only have 6 credits in my waec which include maths, physics, chemistry, geography, economics, nd english.. I had E in government nd agric, nd I got a D in biology. my research on computer science shows that it involves lots of further maths. I don't have a solid foyndation in further maths. pls what other computer related course can you recommend,
and will I be admitted with such result?
Thanks
TravelRe: Italian Student Visa-help! by DanIndia(m): 5:12am On Feb 19, 2015
@newacca, I think this App would actually do you much good than learning from an Institute. But you'll have to spend loads of time on youtube and self study.
newacca:
@Pelumvic and others,
Do you have idea of where one can learn Italian in Lagos? Though, I'm currently using an app to learn basic skill. grin
TravelRe: Italian Student Visa-help! by DanIndia(m): 5:12am On Feb 19, 2015
Yes, since your degree is from the UK, You'd not need to do the legalization with the Italian Embassy in Nigeria and that's another reason your visa was handed out with no sweat.
Your case is far easy as you'll only have to get an Apostille from the British Embassy since the UK is part of the Hague Convention. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apostille_Convention). The only reason why people do legalisation in Nigeria is because Nigeria is not part of the Hague Convention hence they have to hire private lawyers to do the verification and that's why the exorbitant amount is associated with the application. This could even be done on your behalf, you could send your degree certificate to the UK and have it attested first by the State Board of Education wherever you studied, and then to the Ministry of External Affairs there in the UK. Once you're done with this, that's all aout it but keep in mind for a DOV, you'll have to translate this attested document to Italian. You won't need the DOV today, nor for Visa Application nor Enrollment but as long as you're in Italy, you'll definitely need it one day. I'll advise you to actually get on with it right away. Don't worry, you have no legalisation to worry about. Just go to the British Embassy, they'll do all this for you.

Source: I have an international degree certificate and this is the process I've been told, at the embassy.
Best of Luck.
Mofe22:
Thanks for the explanation! My certificate is not from a nigerian institution. I studied my undergraduate degree in the UK. Does this make a difference?

It's hard but not impossible (truth be told).
Pelumiv:
Bros na so. Even though there economy isnt that impressive, this country is years ahead of Nigeria in all ramifications. They give you everything you need to succeed. Unfortunately, there standard is too high for African students, especially for Engineering students. If you are coming for Engineering course i will advice you to choose a University but if it is the Polytechnic that has your course, i can provide you some materials to have a head start before you come here to listen to the head cracking mathematics. It hard but not impossible.
