Esji80: Assalamu alaikum. For those saying yoruba shld marry yoruba,Hausa to Bahaushiya etc...claimng cultural difference would have effect on the marriage...Where does Allah and/or His apostle p.b.u.h said Yorubas shld only marry yorubas ,Hausa etc shld only marry frm their tribes?
Will you disregard sm1 that propoes you for marriage just because he /she is frm a different tribe?

As for me,I can marry any lady frm any tribe Igbo,Hausa,Yoruba,Tangale, etc IF she has d qualities I need and she bears witness that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah s.w.t and Prophet Muhammad s.a.w is His slave and messenger.

The prophet also married someone younger and richer and beautiful.

Whatever you decide to do is still Sunnah.

If you are Yoruba, you are automatically black by race. Some Yorubas are light skinned. But I can only marry a dark skinned man.

now i gt your point. But your last sentence 'the dark skinned man' is that a neccesity?

Islam for Muslims / Muslims: The Best Of Mankind. by Danmas: 3:49pm On Dec 15, 2013
Muslims are the moderate of all peaple who enbrace a religion on earth and ofcourse the best. As Allah says in the qur'aan that islam and muslims are the best of manking and who qualify to stand as witnesses to pple on the day of judgment for their objectivity 'Wa kadhaalika ja'alnaakum ummatan wasatan, li takoonoo shuhadaa-a 'alan naasi wa yakoonar rasoolu 'alaikum shahheedaa' Quran
Ulamaa hav translated the word 'wasatan' as KHIYARAH, meaning the BEST.
And its reported authentically that prophet the (pbuh) use to choose the eisier of two options if he was given a choice. (Bukhari, the book of virtues, the chapter of the characteristics of the prophet, 'alaihis salam, hadeeth 3560. Muslim, the book of fadaa-il, the chapter explaining how the prophet distance himself from bottlenecks and his preference for the easiest of permissible affairs, hadeeth 2327, on the authority of Aa-isha, may Allah be please with her)

Despite what the western media oft says against islam, it remain the best religion(and moderate) and muslims the best of pple(upright muslims ). Take for eg. Recently the british govt. enbracing ISLAMIC system of banking and so many other good examples which the western media hav kept quite about while hiding terror issue that involve non-muslims, think about the issue surrounding Terry Lee Loewen suicide bombing attempt with FBI recently , the Boston shooting, the church shootings in u.s.a. e.t.c. And even in Nigeria where GEJ deny Henry Okas claim of 1st October bombing and later approved psychiatric test for him just last week and so many other instances that involve non-muslims. Wallahu aalam

Islam for Muslims / Islam And The World Today: Cause For Optimism! by Danmas: 7:59am On Nov 28, 2013
The world has gone CRAZY!
Is what we say anytime when things cross our line! Everything is in complete chaos, nothing
seems to make sense as regard to challenges we face as muslims, be it terror issues, discrimination, incesant killings, lies, interference into our right to religion and the list is endless. It seems that with every coming day things just keep
getting worse and worse. And on the other hand humanity is lost. People do not care about each
other like they used to because of unislamic (or westernise) nature the world is turning into . It is clearly apparent that the world as we know
it is falling apart(or whatever you decide to call it) and there is nothing we can do to stop it.

Or is it? Think back to the “good ol’ days.”  The days when things actually
made sense, and there was still humanity to be seen around every corner.
Perhaps it was a time when you were young when the world seemed to be
perfectly aligned, or at least for the most part. Or perhaps you can’t
remember a time where things made sense, but you have heard about those
times and secretly crave to be teleported back as soon as possible.

One of those times that is oft brought up is the time when the Prophet
ﷺ  (peace be upon him) was present on the earth. We hear stories about when ‎
the Prophet ﷺ  was amongst the people, and we get swept away by the beauty
of it all. A time when human life was still regarded as precious. But forgeting that, it was the time when pple bury their dauthers simply because she is a girl, pple radiculed and even tried killing the prophet(S.A.W.)himself. The truth is the world is crazy from the start, and whatever situation we found ourselfs we still have reasons live and fight for the course of Allah. We should try as much as we can to propagate islam and its teachings anywhere anytime for a time may come when pple will refer this our time as the "good ol' days" . May Allah guide us.

Ibanga p: I guess they were moved by the solemn sermon of the Imam.
Please, what are the procedures you follow when giving your life to Mohammed (*SAW*wateva that means), as compared to the prayer of salvation wen giving ur life to Jesus Christ? Just curios though.
Reasonable answers pls. Thanks
No prayer is necessary, you believe that there is no god except Allah (almighty) and prophet Muhammad (salallahu alaihi wa sallam) is his massenger and last prophet sent by Allah. Lastly believe that Allah sent prophet Isa (alaihis salam) is created by Him, and is his massenger. After which you agree to live your life according to islamic rights.
May Allah open our hearts for good.

[utumunta]This is what you get when you put extremists in positions of Authority. From Nasir Faggae, Kwankwaso, Ahmadinejad to Buhari, what we have are men who must have their way against the collective good of the people.
Nigerian students, whenever your lecturers decide to call off the strike and you get back to school; ensure that those lecturers who do not know what they teach, demand for monetary or sexual gratification, guilty of plagiarism and pretended intellectuals are exposed for the frauds that they are. It is high time they are held accountable and made to up their ante. Government cannot fulfill their own side of the bargain with the lecturers only for the students to be shortchanged by lecturers. Since ASUU is interested in arresting the decay in the education sector, let the students help and arrest the rot within their various universities. Say no to the culture of impunity pervading our universities, occassioned by the lecturers.
Shame! Shame! on you and the pple who pay you to come and campain for GEJ (DUMBO) 2015 ambition. Instead of him to use the same money for paying pple of your likes to solve the masses problem. With pple like you Nigeria will cöntineou to rot!

...its obvious that the politics of Nigeria, sectional interest,APC-G7- PDP struggle are all influencing the war on terrorism in this damned country,in view of comments made by some people in this forum,it shows that some Nigerians will be happier if BokoHaram succeeds just to spite on GEJ or just to prove he has failed.A retired colonel was caught in the act and rather than comment on the import of this great strive by JTF,some dimwits are here defending 13volts,a perceived boko haram E-mole planted to garner sympathy from social-media with different monikers!....I thank God that a top gun has been caught,He must be made to sing, all forms of pyschological turture must be employed in this case, water boarding, sleep deprivation,psycho-loud-music system included!we must get to root of this national embarrassment called boko haram.

osifred: I am indifferent as regards this strike.
If the strike will yield atleast 70percent of the agreement in term of implicationan then it is an unfortunate pain we should bear.

I want a situation where I can undertake my Msc in a Nigerian institution and feel at home with quality education instead of taking close to 5 million abroad to learn under hostile environment. Money I would have used to invest and help sustain the economy.

I want a situation where my sibling can consider schooling in Nigeria at a first choice

A situation where 4yrs is 4yrs for BSc and 2yrs is 2yrs for Msc

If this is the pain we must go through to enjoy the above then I am willing to suffer it now and enjoy later.

the fight to save the university should not be fought in collaboration with all the stakeholders in university education- students, nasu, parents, even industries. and in case they are not really willing to be part of the fight, there are ways that ASUU can use to force them to join in this fight without going on strike "technically" e.g. delaying exams indefinitely because of some course modules that can not be taught given the current funding, not releasing exam results, slowing down the curriculum, giving students assignments that cant be solve because of university funding, not graduating students etc.

Agreement is agreement. FG should honour it as its very feasible considering our economic stance. Its only in Nig. that cost of running govt. is neva an issue, while paying the masses benefit is always a problem. If the FG wants to cut cost or manage resources, they should start by shading weights in cost of governance and also takle corruption. I am a final yr student, but i thnk its better for ASUU to fight until they acheive ther aim.
